This is an historic, very old mansion. I loved the period pieces and the decor. The owners were very welcoming and the included breakfast was delicious. After the breakfast, one owner gave us a wonderful detailed, informative tour of the house. Again, this is an old mansion undergoing renovation, but if that interests you as it did my husband and me, it’s a great place to stay.

Beautiful old house and grounds. Friendly employee. The pool was unusable/filthy when we were there which was really sad for my five year old. We stayed in the garden cabana and there’s no climate control there (the thermostat is in the next unit over) so we were very cold throughout. Good dinner and breakfast.

We stayed here on our way back from vacation in Fort Worth Texas. It is the half way point. We can’t brag enough on the staff, very pleasant and accommodating. The room was cozy and clean. The house is so full of history and beautiful. We will definitely stay our next trip to Texas. We didn’t take time to eat breakfast but next time we will make time to take advantage of dinner and breakfast options for sure. The only negative which isn’t really negative is there is no elevator and we stayed on the 3rd floor and had to carry luggage up two flights of stair that each have 20 steps 🙁. This isn’t made evident when choosing your room.

Lovely property in quiet neighborhood. We were on the third floor so carrying luggage in and out was a chore. Great breakfast. And a tour of the mansion was an extra bonus. They have a bar so we were able to sip our drinks on the elegant veranda as the sun went down.

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is well kept and the staff is really friendly. We met Bendita when we went to the bar on the property and we really enjoyed her company! The literal only complaint i have is the coffee at breakfeast was terrible. But other than that 5 stars!!!

Beautiful b&b with very friendly staff. They changed us to the pool cabana room (I think because we had our pup with us and had tiled floors) and it was very comfy. The only thing I would add is a mini fridge but otherwise perfect! Don’t miss the rooftop deck! We will definitely be back!

We stayed in the pool cabana and it was lovely, private and classy. Can’t wait to come back. The pool was clean, the food was fantastic, the mixed drinks were excellent. The owner Kendra was a sweetheart and made us feel very welcome. Thank you for our stay :)

This was my second time to stay here and I enjoyed it so much. They were very accommodating and friendly. The Inn At Cedar Grove has so much history and beautiful decor. The Grant Suite is so beautiful! The pool was so nice and relaxing. The grounds are beautiful too!

The staff was amazing. Our breakfast was delicious. You would never believe you were in town, it was quiet and peaceful. Enjoyed the pool. Lots to do in the area. Will definitely stay there again.

Disappointed that we were not IN the historic home; no accommodation for 3 or more apparently. For the price & elegance of the home, breakfast was dismal, shameful: canned biscuit, 1 bacon, scrambled egg, fruit. Don’t remember description disclosing there were lots of stairs to room; no elevator. No extras of blankets, TP, or towels; have to ask. Otherwise , it was clean & convenient location to sights & good restaurants.

The property is in need of repairs. The drapes in our room were old faded and torn, the door wouldn’t lock, railing on the deck were missing it just generally needs work. The jewelry display in the lobby is jarring, not the right period. While it is walkable to downtown, that was a little scary. But the biggest problem is the staff! Breakfast was supposed to be included but we were told the woman making it just didn’t show up. No offer to discount the room or even to offer any advice on where to get breakfast. The website is definitely overselling any work that was done. I know it’s old & May have needed to a of work, but much is left to do.

We booked one night here on a road trip and after reading the previous reviews, we were so excited! We were met with much disappointment. The girl at check-in was not friendly or welcoming at all and it was like pulling teeth to get her to tell us where our room was located. When we got to the room, the doorknob was rickety and would barely latch shut. Not very safe considering there was a room right next door. The room had a funky odor when we entered. We went to the restroom and was met with URINE still in the toilet and a hair on both the top of the toilet seat and in the tub. We flushed the old urine down, used the bathroom, and left. We were there for 10 minutes max. We were not refunded because the "maids had already left for the day." I'm not sure the maids were even there to begin with leaving urine and hair in the bathroom. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Side note- if you have any type of mobility issues, avoid this place. We almost fell on the sidewalk and the stairs inside are also super steep. This isn't well stated on the description.

Beautiful old home. Staff were great. Breakfast just Ok. Need bigger trash cans in rooms. Nice if you could supply a few sodas in room refrigerator. You offer small bottles of liquor but no mixers. We had two mice in our first room. Changed to room 1 which was much nicer. Bathrooms are small with no place to put bath supplies, make-up, etc. avoid room 12. The staff makes this this property.

We had a nice visit. Check in hostess was not very friendly but morning kitchen staff was lovely. Room was very pretty with antiques however the bathroom cleaning needed more attention.

The suite was roomy and with all basic facillities covered.Linens were quality and seemed freshly laundered. We had a tour round the house by a knowledgeable staff member when we showed interest after we checked out of the property. Was disappointed to realise our river view suite was not part of the original house. It had a smell of damp and the extractor fans worked but one was hanging loose off the ceiling and the other looked dirty. No curtains in the lounge area so it lacked privacy. Appeared to be neglected in general care as the verandah chairs were left out getting a full soaking during the downpour in tbe evening.Breakfast was 8-9 and we sat down at 8.35 on our own and the staff apeared to be in a hurry for us to leave as noone else was there.The fruit salad looked as had been prepared and sat in advance.No yoghurt to go with fruit or juice. Lemonade or cranberry were the only options. The pastries were dry and not fresh. I just ate the toast and ham that the polite and sweet female server was happy to return back to make.

Loved the people and food. Beautiful grounds and so unique. The only suggestion is for the cleaning crew to use less clorox in cleaning the room. It was SO strong when we checked in we had to open all the doors. Maybe a less pungent cleaner. Thank you.

Keeping in mind it is a historical property, but I guess I wasn’t ready for the oldness of the rooms. The first room was inhabitable. Very bad odor. Second room, up 22 steps, which this author has much difficulty with. We wanted a good night sleep, but we heard this constant banging until after 11pm. Irritating. The grounds were ok, but just had a discombobulated feel. They did accept our dog, which was nice and has a very low fee for that. Room was clean, bedding was nice. Let’s just end it by saying, the place was just “not our cup of tea”.

We had a nice visit. Check in hostess was not very friendly but morning kitchen staff was lovely. Room was very pretty with antiques however the bathroom cleaning needed more attention.

We stayed in the pool cabana and it was lovely, private and classy. Can’t wait to come back. The pool was clean, the food was fantastic, the mixed drinks were excellent. The owner Kendra was a sweetheart and made us feel very welcome. Thank you for our stay :)

The suite was roomy and with all basic facillities covered.Linens were quality and seemed freshly laundered. We had a tour round the house by a knowledgeable staff member when we showed interest after we checked out of the property. Was disappointed to realise our river view suite was not part of the original house. It had a smell of damp and the extractor fans worked but one was hanging loose off the ceiling and the other looked dirty. No curtains in the lounge area so it lacked privacy. Appeared to be neglected in general care as the verandah chairs were left out getting a full soaking during the downpour in tbe evening.Breakfast was 8-9 and we sat down at 8.35 on our own and the staff apeared to be in a hurry for us to leave as noone else was there.The fruit salad looked as had been prepared and sat in advance.No yoghurt to go with fruit or juice. Lemonade or cranberry were the only options. The pastries were dry and not fresh. I just ate the toast and ham that the polite and sweet female server was happy to return back to make.

The lack of mobility information in the description of the property caused a lot of problems for my wife and I. We were giving a room/apartment which was approximately 200 yards from the main house. You had to negotiate a very dark lane which was pitted with many holes and gullies. Then you had to climb 40 steps up on a very narrow stairwells, this was also very poorly lit. I’m 72 with heart disease and arthritis and I struggled to get up those stairs. However the room/apartment was very large with a lounge/kitchen area, a king bed in a separate room and a very large bathroom with shower and tub. If I had been 20 years younger I would have relished staying here. The duty manager, Anthony, was absolutely fantastic and gave a us a room in the main building, although it was only a quarter of the size of what we had paid for and with a very small bed, we were nevertheless very grateful and felt safer in this room. The other downside was the lack of staff to help us. We were just given the keys and were expected to sort ourselves out. I asked for assistance, however I was informed that all the staff were busy with the bar and restaurant. To be fair the staff were extremely busy, but that seemed to be down to the lack of staff working, to the amount of guests present. Our original room was 33, in the detached building and should only be booked by those with no mobility problems. Breakfast choice was non existent and very poor, causing us to eat out on the 2nd day.

This was my second time to stay here and I enjoyed it so much. They were very accommodating and friendly. The Inn At Cedar Grove has so much history and beautiful decor. The Grant Suite is so beautiful! The pool was so nice and relaxing. The grounds are beautiful too!

Sad to say that this place was horrible. The place was very noisy and when I called around midnight to ask if they could quiet the other drunks guests down, I was told no. I was talked down to and treated very badly. I do NOT recommend this place. There are many cute places in town, chose ANOTHER location! Trust me!

The pictures are VERY misleading. The first picture for the room we picked out was NOT the right picture for the room. My husband was VERY upset. The room we did get wasn’t very nice. When we got there I called SEVERAL times for help but no one answered. I would not recommend staying here since the listings are misleading and the service is absolutely horrible.

The Inn at Cedar Grove is a wonderful, historical and relevant property leagues above other overnight and dining opportunities in Vicksburg. The staff and owners are dear, kind, helpful, knowledgeable people within a town and area that has struggled since the Civil War. We highly recommend this property.

Kendra is awesome!! Our stay was perfect. They were even doing a trial run for breakfast, which was yummy!! Our suite was immaculate with a beautiful view of the river. The tour of the main house was great!! Will stay again!! Oh, don't forget to tour McRaven, which they also own.

For the price & elegance of the home, breakfast was dismal, shameful: canned biscuit, 1 bacon, scrambled egg, fruit. Don’t remember description disclosing there were lots of stairs to room; no elevator. No extras of blankets, TP, or towels; have to ask. Otherwise , it was clean & convenient location to sights & good restaurants.

The mansion is beautiful and filled with history. The host was friendly and answered all our questions. Breakfast was good, the grounds are beautiful. Location was good, close to downtown. We enjoyed our stay. We would probably stay again.

Lovely property in quiet neighborhood. We were on the third floor so carrying luggage in and out was a chore. Great breakfast. And a tour of the mansion was an extra bonus. They have a bar so we were able to sip our drinks on the elegant veranda as the sun went down.

We stayed in Grant’s room. It was neat to think that a former General and President slept on that very bed frame. The house is full of history. The room provided the nostalgia of the past with the modern day comforts of the present. The staff was amazing especially the host, Latonya Brown. She gave a great tour of the house that was very educational. She made us want to come back due to her hospitality. When you stay be sure to stick around for dinner. The pork tenderloin and catfish were fantastic! We loved the history of Vicksburg and look forward to staying here again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is well kept and the staff is really friendly. We met Bendita when we went to the bar on the property and we really enjoyed her company! The literal only complaint i have is the coffee at breakfeast was terrible. But other than that 5 stars!!!

This is a gorgeous B & B to stay in. Amy the registration gal is the best. She makes you feel like your a welcome family member. Bar is quaint and bartender Cody is fun. Breakfast is small portioned but good quiche. No choice, just brought out to you. Location is great and decor is perfect for home. Had diner there and it was ok.( Filet/shrimp) The best was the bread! Try a red dragon at the bar they will get you hooked. Also Amy gives a lovey historical tour of the place after breakfast. Would definitely stay again!!!

For first time visitors to Vicksburg who came with an interest in the city's history, there couldn't have been a better place to stay than the Inn at Cedar Grove. The mansion is an amazing specimen of Civil War era design and furnishing, and the post-breakfast tour of the home really put us in a state of mind to appreciate all that we saw at the many museums in the town, and on our visit to the Vicksburg Military Park. The no-menu included breakfast was a bit rough - if you have dietary issues around eggs or dairy, or just prefer scrambled eggs that are not overcooked - you might be better off eating elsewhere. The bar was a very appreciated feature, and the woman tending the bar was extremely nice, and made very interesting conversation. We enjoyed the pool. For a home nearing its 200th birthday, it is very good condition, and we consider ourselves quite privileged to have been able to stay there and immerse ourselves in the history.

Our room was so dirty. Baseboards were gross. Black mold in the bathroom. Floor turned out feet black. Couch had rips in the fabric. Cowling was crumbling around air vents. Super close to a busy road. Had to climb 3 flights of steep stairs to get to our room. The whole place is a safety violation. And so dirty!!! We were catfished for sure. Also, in a shady part of town. This place has fencing but not a locked gate system.
Our room was so dirty. Baseboards were gross. Black mold in the bathroom. Floor turned out feet black. Couch had rips in the fabric. Cowling was crumbling around air vents. Super close to a busy road. Had to climb 3 flights of steep stairs to get to our room. The whole place is a safety violation. And so dirty!!! We were catfished for sure. Also, in a shady part of town. This place has fencing but not a locked gate system.
