Catalina Courtyard Suites

Catalina Courtyard is a lovely hotel, but what truly made our stay stand out was the amazing staff and their convenient luggage service. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, especially when we needed a safe spot to store our bags after checkout. The charming courtyard, complete with a cozy fire pit and complimentary coffee and snacks, made it even better. We’d definitely choose to stay here again!

Real cute place, rooms are real nice we enjoyed playing games and having some wine down in the cute courtyard. Staff was very helpful.

We were in the corner room near the fireplace and we couldn’t connect to the WiFi and the tv wasn’t working as well. I called front desk to try and fix the issue. The guy that came down to help kept saying “well it’s working on my phone.” Weird thing to say since that doesn’t really help us until we asked him to restart the WiFi. It still didn’t work so we called again. We were able to get compensated for that day since we needed to do a little work while we were there. They did put something in our room the next day and the WiFi worked, had full bars! The property is cute and well maintained. The only drawbacks for me were the stairs to go to the front desk was a little challenging to carry our luggage and I saw a couple struggling to carry their stroller up as well. Maybe turn it into a little ramp to help. The other drawbacks were the bed sheets, the comforter was heavily stained all over so we decided just to use the thin blanket that’s underneath and the shower head was very dirty and had rust all around it. There was rust around the lights that are on the mirror too. We did like the complimentary snacks and drinks. But overall it was an okay stay.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room and property was clean. Coffee, juice and snacks were a plus.

Very relaxing stay. Walking distance from the Ferry dock. Nice quaint courtyard with all hours access to snacks and some drinks.

I do not recommend this place. Very noisy and way too many stairs.

The outside of the property looked old but quaint. The inside of the rooms were amazing. It was pristine.

We've stayed 3 nights in the large family room. The only window was on street level looking onto the side street (no water view at all), our entrance was from the street. Therefore, no way to have natural light or air coming in! The room was big with a kitchenette and bathroom, both would require a refresh. Towels were grayish from the long service life. We were not happy to pay premium for this accommodation. General observation: most of the rooms have their only window and entrance door opening to a foyer inside the courtyard - no ocean view. Maybe one or two rooms in a tower like section might have water views but be aware, there is no elevator in this "historic" hotel.

Conveniently located, clean sheets. Friendly staff. However, the room had a permanently musty, mildewy odor. There is evidence of mold in the ceiling. The walls are paper thin. The shower is poor and the wifi leaves a lot to be desired. Good enough in a pinch for a short stay.

The wooden floors in the room were not clean. The bottom of our feet were black everyday. This place could really use a renovation especially in the bathroom. The location is pretty good otherwise.

We rented the family room and paid almost $600 for one night. While the one person we saw at the hotel was very nice and the room size was fine, the bathroom was absolutely disgusting, dirty with stains on towels and a big lump of hair in the drain. I have travelled all over the world and this was the worst bathroom i have ever encountered. The island is beautiful, but this hotel needs a huge update.

The property is kind of old. My shower door is broken. Have a lot of little insect inside the bedroom. The hairdryer didn't clean, when my daughter want to blow dry her hair, the insect come out with dust. I think they need more cleaning since their property is old. The pro side is they offer 24 hours snacks which are convenient and thoughtful for the customer. Also the customer service is good.

Our room was so clean and looked newly renovated! When we arrived, we took a short nap because the room was so inviting! The staff was very friendly and let us keep our luggage in the office area before check in and after check out so that we could still play on the island without lugging around any suitcases. We will definitely stay at this hotel next time we visit Catalina!

Unfortunately, this property did not offer a restful experience. The bed and mattress produced distracting creaks with every movement, and the air conditioning unit emitted pulsing noises that persisted even when the unit was turned off. The lack of sound insulation was a major issue; hollow doors meant that conversations from the courtyard and even the front desk's speakerphone calls were clearly audible within the room. Furthermore, the thin windows failed to block out significant street noise, making it impossible to relax or take a nap.

The windows to the rooms face the courtyard. So light comes in making it difficult to sleep and when people are in the courtyard you can hear them as well. The front desk staff were all very helpful and accommodating. It is located off the main street so it is less than 10 min walk to almost everything.

Room was very clean and comfortable. There were no issues with the Wi-Fi. Had a great view of the harbor. We appreciated the Murphy Bed instead of the standard pull out sofa bed. Beds were comfortable.

A nice hotel, but the room was a little small

Recent renovations provided high level of quality and comfort without compromising the local character and appeal of Catalina. Staff and property owner very helpful and friendly. Penthouse provided a180-degree view of Avalon harbor which was unforgettable.

We reserved the suite w/panoramic view to celebrate a milestone anniversary. The suite is spacious, beautifully designed and appointed, conveniently located close to downtown, and the panoramic view was spectacular! This suite is best suited for families. There is a beautiful master suite w/private bathroom and jetted tub, but the second and third beds are a queen size wall pullout Murphy bed and twin rollout located in the common living area. However, it was perfect our needs and exceeded our expectation. I highly recommend!

Great boutique hotel. Outstanding view. Extremely poor wifi.

Internet was terrible. Lots of stairs. Bathroom fixtures were loose. Room was nice. No staff after a certain hour. Check in is at 3 pm. Seemed very clean and well located. Bed comfortable.

I was granted early check in and was able to store my bags while I wait to leave the Island.

It was wonderful, everything was clean and tidy. Very nice staff. Possibility to leave luggage after check-out. If you have a later sailing. Very atmospheric and beautiful.

Amazing front desk people, they made me feel extremely comfortable here, and for my birthday got me a cake! Thanks to jacob and his team.

The property is good but i expected real good service after the premium price. The location and room is good but the service is very poor. We dont have hot water in the bathroom so after tiring day when my daughter went to take bath hot water didnt come, you have to go all the way down to contact help. Then the person says that its your fault. After long he came to check water and blamed us that as you tried to fill Jacuzzi all the water went. I tried to explain multiple times that the hot water didnt come but he was just saying its because of us. That has taken all of our maximum time and everyone’s mood got off. I would suggest this property is not good for those who expects good service when in problem.

Great time at this lovely little hotel. This was during the recent LA wildfires, and the winds were, understandably, intense. The ferry was cancelled one day and they were very accommodating in letting me stay for another night. Very kind people. Thoroughly enjoyed.

The staff were simply marvelous. Always helpful and with a warm smile.

Good location. Unfortunately after a 14 hour travel day we got off the ferry, walked to the hotel and found 2 other groups waiting to check in. There were no staff members in sight. No note saying they would be right back. No one answering the phone when we tried to call. After about 10 minutes someone finally showed up. The group before us had a “lost” reservation that took forever to remedy. We were staying 2 nights but our keys were only good for 1 night. The stairs to the courtyard were unsafe. The breakfast was incredibly meager and unhealthy. Poor choice of places to stay.

Beautiful views and convenient location!

We REALLY enjoyed our stay! First (and not last) time to Catalina island and we can’t wait to come back. The room was very nice and comfortable. The courtyard was really nice…met some really nice people by the fire. Super convenient spot with easy walking distance to everything. We will be back

Excellent location, convenient to restaurants and shopping but not directly on busy street. Spacious room.

The location of this property is convenient. Near shops and the beach, walk to just about anywhere in 10-15 minutes or catch/rent a golf cart. The stairs to the upper rooms are a little scary especially if you had a little to drink, lol, steep. We had a nice mini vacation.

Very nice room in a nice hotel. Very homey and within easy walking distance of all the attractions in Avalon. Highly recommend!

Older building but clean and quiet and a great location steps from the marina. Staff graciously allowed us to store our luggage at the hotel prior to check in and after check out, especially important since most of us access the island via the Catalina Express ferry.

This place is in a perfect location. Around the corner from the main strip but everything is in walking distance. Less than 10 min walk from the Catalina Express

Rooms very clean We had 5 rooms there including one was a suite for my daughters 30th bday Front desk staff amazing, everyone was very accommodating. They have coffee, OJ, tea. Oatmeal, yogurt, danishes & muffins in stock all day/night. Will definitely stay again!

Nice hotel, but a little old for the price overall experience was good, but small things made it not worth $200 a night during low season - at least for me: hot water not enough to fill bath - second half was filling with cold shampoo was empty and few more… from good things: nice courtyyard with firepit nice kitchen with minimal snack options - yogurt and cofee (better than nothing) location is perfect

Upon checking in, I was impressed with the atmosphere. The courtyard is beautiful with a fire pit in the middle. A coffee nook with complimentary snacks and beverages like pastries, tea, OJ and yogurt was open 24/7. There was a bottle of red wine with 2 glasses ready to enjoy in our clean room. Customer service was spot on and I really felt like my needs mattered to each staff member I interacted with. On our first morning we accidentally spilled coffee on our sheets and housekeeping came to change them right away, we really appreciated that. However, the property is definitely in need of the renovation the new owners are currently doing. I specifically booked my room for the jetted tub, which stopped working half way through my trip-the faucet was already on it’s last leg being that it is loose in the wall, and when filling the tub the valve wasn’t fully functioning, making it impossible to turn off the shower head completely and direct the water to run through the tub faucet. It was difficult to get hot water and the temperature was mostly lukewarm throughout our stay. On the last night, I ran a bath and was unable to get the water temperature warm enough, plus the jets would not turn on at all-I was super disappointed because the jetted tub was the selling point when I booked this room. The most uncomfortable part was the bed-the mattress was rock hard and pillows were worn out, I hardly slept the entire trip and woke up in pain. Our experience was just ok overall.

Older property under new management. Close to everything. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean but showing their age. There are multiple floors without an elevator so some folks might find it challenging. Breakfast is minimal, a few pastries, yogurt and oatmeal. It has a nice cozy courtyard with fireplace

We loved our stay at the Catalina Courtyard Suites! The location was perfect, a quick walk to the center of town, but not directly on a main road. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and we appreciated the coffee and bagels in the morning. We slept extremely well in our room, the room darkening shades were top tier. The only issue was our tv in our room, but not a huge problem on our end.

I love this place, it’s pretty much close to everything. The coffee, tea and some cookies are like a lil treat to my kids and me, also I love the convenience of leaving our luggage and coming back to it, so we had like more time of roaming around the island… will definitely book again…

Excellent location, very accommodating and friendly staff. The room was clean and there was a large beautiful bathroom and lovely courtyard with a fire pit. Coffee and prepackaged danish was available downstairs for breakfast but there were no plates. There were no glasses or ice bucket in the room but I was able to get some in the breakfast room. I really appreciated the ability to check out later because we had to change plans because of bad weather.
