Beautiful property at a local winery. The property is family-owned. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Full breakfast with many options each morning overlooking the Duoro valley, nice pool, good clean rooms. Enjoyed the help of the owners for recommendations in the area. Great place to stay and visit local wineries or just relax and drink their own wine. Great value too.

Accueil impeccable de la propriétaire. Le petit déjeuner est varié et copieux. La vue de la chambre est magnifique. Bien situé à proximité de Peso et Armamar. Ils ont de beaux produits disponibles sur place. Il y a des collations et du café disponible en tout temps. Les installations sont modernes et propres. Tout était parfait, on y aurait passé une semaine.

A beautiful secluded small hotel within a working winery and vineyard. New well appointed rooms with balcony, delicious full breakfast included, pool and patio area, and very friendly and helpful staff. Great toiletries and towels. Beyond our expectations even on a rainy day.

Nos ha gustado mucho. La habitación era muy grande y limpia. Habíamos pedido una tabla de embutidos y una botella de vino porque no nos apetecía conducir para salir a cenar y fue un acierto 100%. Poder disfrutar de la piscina a cualquier hora y desde esas vistas ha sido un gran acierto. Desayuno muy bueno y en el salón de la quinta hay café, agua dura y galletas durante todo el día. El personal muy amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar, muchas gracias!!Sin duda, volveremos!

Outstanding small quinta in the middle of the wine country. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way for anything and everything. Make time for the wine tasting, and be sure to add a tabua - our small board had amazing variety and quality.

The staff were very friendly and kind. The breakfast served was one of the best we’ve had at any hotel with lots of variety and such fresh fruit. We enjoyed walking through the vineyard and found it an excellent spot to explore Douro. Highly recommend.

Beautiful experience while staying in this Quinta. Friendly helpful host and staff, brilliant location, lovely room and stunning view. The pool was a big bonus. Very nice breakfast. Would love to come back and stay longer.

We absolutely loved Quinta da Portela. The staff was fabulous. The property has gorgeous views and the breakfast was fantastic. Perfect place to relax by the pool or go for a hike on the vineyards. The wine tasting done by the owner’s grand daughter was incredible with lots of interesting information and delicious charcuterie board. Beautiful pool and rooms. Very new and well constructed. Would stay again if ever lucky enough to get back to this beautiful country.

Great quiet location in a vineyard. Wine tasting was a private experience that included their own fortified wine and olive oil. Views are outstanding. Staff are super accomodating. Access to walking the vineyard as wellas a pool. Fresh oranges and lemons. Breakfast was fresh and showcased local options. Highly recommend. Only 5 min from Aramar and 20 minutes from Regua and Pinhao. Did not want to leave and highly recommend.

Sehr zu empfehlen. Toller Ausblick, sehr schönes Zimmer, sehr sauber. Top Frühstück, hier war Alles dabei was man sich wünscht. Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter - wir würden wiederkommen.

The room vas comfortable and clean. The property was gorgeous. We came on a rainy day and we were still able to enjoy the beautiful view. Breakfast was well done - hot and cold food served fresh. Staff were very very kind and attentive. Wine was wonderful !! Would highly recommended.

The location is great and very convenient to go to most places in the valley. The room we had was perfect - very clean, great views and right next to the pool. The staff (Ruth) was the best and very helpful and nice. The breakfast was amazing and one of the best we have had.

Le personnel (Sylvia) etait tres gentille et accueillante. Il fesait quand meme frais lors de notre sejour et la chambre etait humide (il n’y a pas de ventilateur dans la salle de bain) et avons eu un peu de mal a faire monter la chaleur, mais au bout de qqes heures ca s’est placé. La vue est magnifique, hotel tres propre. Je recommande.

Small and lovely hotel with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Tucked away in the hills, it is quiet and you have a great view over the hills (but not the Douro river itself). The rooms are nice and super clean, breakfast is fantastic and the staff attempts to fulfil any wishes one may have.

Visito o Douro há muitos anos e nunca nenhum hotel me surpreendeu tanto como a Quinta da Portela. A simpatia do staff excedeu todas as minhas expectativas. Estavam sempre prontos a ajudar e sempre com um sorriso na cara. A limpeza dos quartos e espaços em comum é impecável. Nunca visitei nenhum espaço tão limpo (passamos apenas 2 noites e o quarto foi limpo após a primeira noite). O pequeno almoço é super completo com pão, docinhos e fruta, e é possível pedir sempre algo mais elaborado (ovos, bacon, etc) se assim o quisermos (sem valor adicional). Também é possível pedir sandes e outros snacks feitos na quinta. Os acessos da quinta são impecáveis, não é necessário passar por ruas apertadas, é perto de restaurantes e perto do Pinhão onde se encontram quase todas as quintas. O ambiente é super tranquilo, e é um ambiente super informal e relaxante. Estar na Quinta da portela é como estar em casa. As fotos não dizem o quão bonito e acolhedor é este espaço.

We had such a wonderful stay. The rooms were fantastic and had a view of the valley. The staff went above and beyond to cater to our family. Breakfast was great and can be enjoyed looking out at the beautiful view. We only had one night stay but we would most definitely come back and stay for longer. Highly recommend!

Tolle Unterkunft in fantastischer Lage. Wir hatten ein sehr schönes und sauberes Zimmer mit grandiosem Blick auf die Berge. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bereitet jeden Morgen frisch ein tolles Frühstück mit reichhaltiger Auswahl zu. Durch die wenigen Gäste hat das Hotel einen individuellen, familiären Charme.
Tolle Unterkunft in fantastischer Lage. Wir hatten ein sehr schönes und sauberes Zimmer mit grandiosem Blick auf die Berge. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bereitet jeden Morgen frisch ein tolles Frühstück mit reichhaltiger Auswahl zu. Durch die wenigen Gäste hat das Hotel einen individuellen, familiären Charme.

Séjour inoubliable de 4 nuits en avril, Merveilleux site, chambre spacieuse avec grande porte patio avec vue époustouflante sur la montagne. Nos meilleurs déjeuner continental de tout notre voyage de 20 jours au Portugal et que dire de notre assiette pour diner... mini planche à dégusté....Wow!!. Service excellent et la dégustation de vin et porto de 2 heures incluant la visite du vignoble fut merveilleuse. Séjour relaxant et à 20 minutes en voiture du fleuve douro. Excellent Rapport qualité prix

We had such a wonderful stay. The rooms were fantastic and had a view of the valley. The staff went above and beyond to cater to our family. Breakfast was great and can be enjoyed looking out at the beautiful view. We only had one night stay but we would most definitely come back and stay for longer. Highly recommend!

Outstanding small quinta in the middle of the wine country. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way for anything and everything. Make time for the wine tasting, and be sure to add a tabua - our small board had amazing variety and quality.

Small and lovely hotel with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Tucked away in the hills, it is quiet and you have a great view over the hills (but not the Douro river itself). The rooms are nice and super clean, breakfast is fantastic and the staff attempts to fulfil any wishes one may have.

This is such a beautiful place. We received a warm welcome and wonderful hospitality. We felt as if we were old friends being welcomed into this Quinta. Rodrigo and his staff have created an exceptional environment. The location is perfect. Close to all the sights of the Douro Valley but far enough to feel like you are out of the tourist zone. The views from the patio/pool area are gorgeous. We had the terrace room and it was very nice. Super comfy bed, quality linens and towels. The breakfast is amazing...fruit, fresh squeezed OJ, fruit, eggs, meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, bakery items. Anything you could possibly want. The common area is also very nice. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cookies available all the time. The welcoming decanter of Port seemed to magically refill itself. Just a spectacular stay and an incredible value. A wonderful room in a spectacular location!

Wonderful place to stay, great location in the middle of vineyards, quiet and with an amazing view. Rooms are very comfortable, well equiped and designed. Breakfast is excellent, everything you could wish for is available, and the best service, very kind staff who want to ensure your stay will be perfect. Highly recommend, we will definitely come back to the Quinta da Portela Douro!

Visito o Douro há muitos anos e nunca nenhum hotel me surpreendeu tanto como a Quinta da Portela. A simpatia do staff excedeu todas as minhas expectativas. Estavam sempre prontos a ajudar e sempre com um sorriso na cara. A limpeza dos quartos e espaços em comum é impecável. Nunca visitei nenhum espaço tão limpo (passamos apenas 2 noites e o quarto foi limpo após a primeira noite). O pequeno almoço é super completo com pão, docinhos e fruta, e é possível pedir sempre algo mais elaborado (ovos, bacon, etc) se assim o quisermos (sem valor adicional). Também é possível pedir sandes e outros snacks feitos na quinta. Os acessos da quinta são impecáveis, não é necessário passar por ruas apertadas, é perto de restaurantes e perto do Pinhão onde se encontram quase todas as quintas. O ambiente é super tranquilo, e é um ambiente super informal e relaxante. Estar na Quinta da portela é como estar em casa. As fotos não dizem o quão bonito e acolhedor é este espaço.

The beautiful property is located on top of a mountain giving astonishing views from the property. Clean, beautiful, comfortable and cozy room. The pool is also amazing with the view. Very gentil and accommodating staff, the 2 young ladies and the men were all very lovely thoughout our staying and even helped us to find a lift as taxis and uber aren’t common in douro. We loved so much our stay that we’ll go back for sure!

Beautiful property at a local winery. The property is family-owned. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Full breakfast with many options each morning overlooking the Duoro valley, nice pool, good clean rooms. Enjoyed the help of the owners for recommendations in the area. Great place to stay and visit local wineries or just relax and drink their own wine. Great value too.

Estadia foi excelente! Café da manhã bem completo. Não há opções de almoço e jantar na propriedade mas tem pequenos e bons restaurantes a 6 min de carro, que dependendo da época e horário, é melhor fazer uma reserva. A localização é ótima, pinhão e várias quintas famosas ficam a 20 min de carro. Durante o dia é bem tranquilo de dirigir e a estrada é linda, mas à noite precisa de cuidado redobrado, por conta de falta de sinalização na região e estradas curtas.

The location is great and very convenient to go to most places in the valley. The room we had was perfect - very clean, great views and right next to the pool. The staff (Ruth) was the best and very helpful and nice. The breakfast was amazing and one of the best we have had.

This was the best accommodation we stayed in our month long road trip around Portugal. We had a wonderful time as a family of three including our baby girl. The staff were very welcoming, the breakfast was delicious, superb view of the Douro river and nice big open area. Would definitely stay here again.

Very beautiful hotel in the middle of the Douro wine region. The staff is extremely friendly and always ready to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The beds are comfortable and the rooms very clean. Do try the wine tasting and visit some local wineries when here

Great quiet location in a vineyard. Wine tasting was a private experience that included their own fortified wine and olive oil. Views are outstanding. Staff are super accomodating. Access to walking the vineyard as wellas a pool. Fresh oranges and lemons. Breakfast was fresh and showcased local options. Highly recommend. Only 5 min from Aramar and 20 minutes from Regua and Pinhao. Did not want to leave and highly recommend.

Nos ha gustado mucho. La habitación era muy grande y limpia. Habíamos pedido una tabla de embutidos y una botella de vino porque no nos apetecía conducir para salir a cenar y fue un acierto 100%. Poder disfrutar de la piscina a cualquier hora y desde esas vistas ha sido un gran acierto. Desayuno muy bueno y en el salón de la quinta hay café, agua dura y galletas durante todo el día. El personal muy amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar, muchas gracias!!Sin duda, volveremos!

Tolle Unterkunft in fantastischer Lage. Wir hatten ein sehr schönes und sauberes Zimmer mit grandiosem Blick auf die Berge. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bereitet jeden Morgen frisch ein tolles Frühstück mit reichhaltiger Auswahl zu. Durch die wenigen Gäste hat das Hotel einen individuellen, familiären Charme.

Nos meilleurs déjeuner continental de tout notre voyage de 20 jours au Portugal et que dire de notre assiette pour diner... mini planche à dégusté....Wow!!. Service excellent et la dégustation de vin et porto de 2 heures incluant la visite du vignoble fut merveilleuse. Séjour relaxant et à 20 minutes en voiture du fleuve douro. We absolutely loved Quinta da Portela. The staff was fabulous. The property has gorgeous views and the breakfast was fantastic. Perfect place to relax by the pool or go for a hike on the vineyards. The wine tasting done by the owner’s grand daughter was incredible with lots of interesting information and delicious charcuterie board. Beautiful pool and rooms. Very new and well constructed. Would stay again if ever lucky enough to get back to this beautiful country.

Very nice property. Very off the beaten path. Would have been nice to have a dinner dining option so we wouldn’t have to drive. Wine tastings were hard to find because it was harvest season. Comfortable rooms and views are terrific! FYI pool is not heated. Excellent staff!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The location is very quiet and private, a perfect oasis to return to after a day in the Douro. The property overall is well maintained and clean, and we loved that we were able to stay in one of the cabins with a balcony. The breakfast and snack items offered by the property were delightful, and the nearby towns also had several food options for traditional Portugese fare. When we come back to Portugal, we will definitely be returning for a visit.

This is a great place to relax and to enjoy a beautiful view whilst being at the swimming pool or in the Jacuzzi. The staff is absolutely wonderful : always ensuring you are having a great experience. It's very quiet and close enough to different places to visit or to the activities to do in the area. We recommend without any hesitation.

The winding road through the Douro Valley and the surrounding hills covered with vineyards was beautiful and well worth it. From the moment we arrived and called the front desk to open the gate, we were well taken care of. The staff was super friendly and very helpful in making suggestions on what to do and where to eat. The breakfast was delicious. A lot of variety and prepared fresh as the guests arrived. The pool was refreshing. The staff helped us schedule massages - a great start to our vacation. When we were getting ready to check out, my wife asked if we could get a few pieces of cheese, meat, and a couple of leftover rolls from breakfast for a picnic lunch as we drove down the N2. The staff made us two sandwiches “to go” for the road instead. We even had a welcome plate of snacks in our room that was replenished each day. We cannot wait to stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay here! The location is convenient for winery hopping in the Douro Valley and the view into the valley is spectacular. It is very near a little town (Armamar) that had several delicious restaurants. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We highly recommend their wine tasting with the cheese/charcuterie platter accompaniment - it was the perfect way to start our stay in the Douro when we checked in!
