Never going back! The owner was very rude and their policies are ridiculous. Breakfast doesn't start until 8:30 a.m. and the office doesn't open until 9:00 a.m. They take their last order at the restaurant at 6:30 p.m. and the restaurant closes at 8. If you mess up their towels with make up, you are charged for it!

We stayed for one night. Arrived at 7pm. Restaurant closes at 8 and stops taking orders by 7pm. The views are amazing and the sound of the Caribbean Sea is ceaseless and primordial. That’s the best thing this hotel has going on for it. It’s rustic which is by design but also is in need of updating ( paint chipping , cracks etc). The beds were comfortable and there is ac in rooms. The breakfast is limited but what we had ( Salish rundown and cooked “food” was good. I did yoga and exercises on the balcony in the morning. Overall I would stay again mostly because of the Caribbean Sea

The Resort, nestled right above the cliffs overlooking the sea. The breeze was so nice and relaxing. We drove in the resort and could picture the glory of it, but that was about it. Our room’s location was awesome. We had a triple doors that can open up to the balcony that house a jacuzzi tub. But we couldn’t open all the way as curtains were fixed so they couldn’t be pulled all the way back to get full access. Bomber. Our view of the sea wand coast was awesome. Just breath taking. The room could have been awesome but it as well as the property is old and in need of some well needed good renovations Things were just not giving resorts. It is stayable, we made the most of it and enjoyed ourselves because of who we are. They offered breakfast with only one Jamaican per day. After breakfast there is nothing to do. If you don’t have a car to explore outside you are cooked. The pool don’t even seem inviting as the water is way below the tiled level to hold on to the edge. They have outside seated area but that’s it. U will just be sitting with nothing to do. There isn’t even a bar to get some drinks. There offer dinner which ends by 8 and def that’s it for the rest of the day. It’s in a remote part where there’s much driving it do to get to anything and to make it a little more difficult there was road work going on and made the drive much longer. I recently booked several rooms over the past weekend as my family traveled to Jamaica for a funeral. We had a few mishaps on our part, but the staff was incredibly understanding and accommodating throughout. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and Terrence went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The food was delicious, and even though the pool was a little low on water, my kids still had a great time. The view was absolutely breathtaking. Overall, this was a wonderful experience during a difficult time, and we truly appreciate the hospitality. We’ll definitely be back.

It was my second visit. The view is very scenic and peaceful. The dining options are limited with few other off property options and the property needs upkeep. On both visits the pool was dirty and the pool area unkempt and so the pool is not utilized. Property just needs to be properly maintained as otherwise it has great potential.

The place was nice and clean, the lounge could open a bit later, that would be nice. Make sure you don’t use their towels to wipe off your makeup. They check this at checkout.

My stay at Sea Cliff was relaxing. It's a beautiful property with relaxing views of the ocean from almost all the rooms. The bed was large and comfortable. The food was good we had breakfast included with our stay. The staff was warm and friendly. I felt like I was staying at a friend's house instead of a resort.

Omg! This place is terrible! It needs to shut down and get renovated and exterminated, those cockroaches are like an extra man inside the bedroom, then the curtains are filled with morass from the water on the ground from the rain that blew inside the closed bedroom while rain fall.

The property is very unique. Most of the rooms are ocean view and the views are breathtaking. I liked the special touches like the hammock on the balcony. the room was very large. There were some housekeeping items that could use a little attention, but overall, lovely property. Having a nice restaurant with outdoor seating was great as well.

I didn’t give full stars for the property because there are a few details that would make this place phenomenal. Resurfacing the pool and cleaning the pool equipment. I would have liked to swim but the condition of the pool was not inviting. Also the bathroom sink has mold and you can see the wood rotting. The tube doesn’t look like it’s really cleaned (even though it’s made from beach stones). I took a shower in my crocs.. felt cleaner that way.

The room was filthy. The locks weren’t secure we had to use a night table to secure the door. The bathroom had mold,the floor look like it hasn’t been wipe for days. The light where I had to lay my head was full of dirt and Cobb webs. We only stayed because we arrived late that night and we were tired I immediately booked another hotel for the rest of our vacation. They offered another room in the morning but who would want to stay another night with Covid-19 on the rise and you already had me in a dirty room.

The honeymoon stay was a disaster. Hotel is not as advertised online. Only thing great about it was the sea view. The road leading to the hotel was a disgrace. Hotel and fixtures run down and dated.

A spectacular location will difficult road access makes this a bit of a get away from it all experience. In January it did have the feel of a place which was very out of season, quiet, not many guests, restaurant quite empty. We had a one night stop to visit Reach Falls which worked fine. Rooms are fairly basic but clean and comfortable.

This was a family trip. It was 5 adults and 1 child. Our stay at Sea cliff was extremely mediocre in a lot of ways. First off the roads in Jamaica are extremely bad. To the point I would dare say it should be deemed an emergency and they should have around the clock staff working to repair them. So to get there from St Thomas took well over 2.5 hours. Our check in was extremely smooth, the young lady at the desk was very helpful and informative. The rooms themselves were what you could expect at a family owned water front hotel. I’m not sure if the conditions of the rooms were due to poor upkeep or because it’s located right on the water. There are no TV’s or phones in the rooms. The bathrooms were a bit creepy but it’s to be expected because of the “vibe” I guess they were going for. The AC worked well the first day but that was all.

The view from any room is breathtaking. You also hear the Caribbean sea no matter where on property you are. It was soooo relaxing. I enjoyed every moment of this trip.

Had to change rooms because of lack of warm water, sharp bed edges, barking dogs etc etc. Other room was better but had a television attached to the ceiling in the middle at 1.85 cm ! Roofs are made out of Aluminium plates...so every drop of rain can be heard.. Restaurant is ok but overpriced. So are the rooms

Bathroom was small If your a tall person using the toilet could feel uncomfortable overall property was quiet and nice

The views and sounds of the ocean were beyond spectacular! Our room was very spacious and was elegant yet rustic. The bed was very comfortable. My only complaint is that we never had very hot water...it was more lukewarm. It wasnt a big issue as the outside temperature was so hot. The air conditioning was very comfortable and Terrence the manager was kind, friendly and very helpful. He arranged a ride for us to get back to Montego Bay. We very much enjoyed our dinners while overlooking the beautiful sea.

The Resort, nestled right above the cliffs overlooking the sea. The breeze was so nice and relaxing. We drove in the resort and could picture the glory of it, but that was about it. Our room’s location was awesome. We had a triple doors that can open up to the balcony that house a jacuzzi tub. But we couldn’t open all the way as curtains were fixed so they couldn’t be pulled all the way back to get full access. Bomber. Our view of the sea wand coast was awesome. Just breath taking. The room could have been awesome but it as well as the property is old and in need of some well needed good renovations Things were just not giving resorts. It is stayable, we made the most of it and enjoyed ourselves because of who we are. They offered breakfast with only one Jamaican per day. After breakfast there is nothing to do. If you don’t have a car to explore outside you are cooked. The pool don’t even seem inviting as the water is way below the tiled level to hold on to the edge. They have outside seated area but that’s it. U will just be sitting with nothing to do. There isn’t even a bar to get some drinks. There offer dinner which ends by 8 and def that’s it for the rest of the day. It’s in a remote part where there’s much driving it do to get to anything and to make it a little more difficult there was road work going on and made the drive much longer. The staff is great they did what was expected

My stay at Sea Cliff was relaxing. It's a beautiful property with relaxing views of the ocean from almost all the rooms. The bed was large and comfortable. The food was good we had breakfast included with our stay. The staff was warm and friendly. I felt like I was staying at a friend's house instead of a resort.

Never going back! The owner was very rude and their policies are ridiculous. Breakfast doesn't start until 8:30 a.m. and the office doesn't open until 9:00 a.m. They take their last order at the restaurant at 6:30 p.m. and the restaurant closes at 8. If you mess up their towels with make up, you are charged for it!

Sea cliff is an excellent get away spot for persons who want to explore Portland and its surrounding areas. Our room was excellent and the dining options were great and delicious. We have no complaints whatsoever. Shout out to the manager Ms Ricketts she was truly attentive to our needs

I recently booked several rooms over the past weekend as my family traveled to Jamaica for a funeral. We had a few mishaps on our part, but the staff was incredibly understanding and accommodating throughout. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and Terrence went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The food was delicious, and even though the pool was a little low on water, my kids still had a great time. The view was absolutely breathtaking. Overall, this was a wonderful experience during a difficult time, and we truly appreciate the hospitality. We’ll definitely be back.

Disappointing Experience Despite the Beautiful View The view from the room at sea cliff resort in Portland, Jamaica was undeniably stunning — the natural scenery is the property's strongest asset. Unfortunately, my overall experience did not reflect the level of hospitality one would expect from a destination known for warm service and relaxation. Upon arrival, I was unexpectedly required to pay a security deposit that was not disclosed prior to check-in. The front desk insisted this was included in my Expedia confirmation email, but despite checking thoroughly, I could not find any such mention. While I ultimately agreed to pay—understanding the need to protect linens from potential damage—it was frustrating and felt poorly handled. The real disappointment came at check-out, when I was made to wait for a housekeeper to retrieve a sheet and point out a minor dirt mark, apparently in an attempt to withhold part or all of my deposit. This experience was uncomfortable and quite frankly insulting. Are linens no longer washed between guests? This approach is not in line with standard hospitality practices, and it left a very negative final impression. It's unfortunate that such a beautiful property is undermined by unclear policies and poor guest relations. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves communication and checkout procedures going forward.

This was a family trip. It was 5 adults and 1 child. Our stay at Sea cliff was extremely mediocre in a lot of ways. First off the roads in Jamaica are extremely bad. To the point I would dare say it should be deemed an emergency and they should have around the clock staff working to repair them. So to get there from St Thomas took well over 2.5 hours. Our check in was extremely smooth, the young lady at the desk was very helpful and informative. The rooms themselves were what you could expect at a family owned water front hotel. I’m not sure if the conditions of the rooms were due to poor upkeep or because it’s located right on the water. There are no TV’s or phones in the rooms. The bathrooms were a bit creepy but it’s to be expected because of the “vibe” I guess they were going for. The AC worked well the first day but that was all.

It was the view and the staff for us. The view was absolutely amazing. The rooms were clean. The staff went above and beyond, and very accommodating. The property was also very central to mutiple attraction areas in Portland so lots to do.

The views at the property are exceptional. It’s gives a cabin vibe. It’s a great choice if you want to unplug and relax. I went alone and I felt very peaceful. It’s a small property and the only thing to do onsite is really eat, relax and take in the views. I definitely also recommend that you only select this property if you’re driving. There’s nothing in walking distant. Frenchman cove, Reach Falls and blue lagoon is about a 25 mins drive. I did both Frenchman cove and Blue lagoon the same day as they’re 5 mins away from each other. I did Reach Fall separate as it’s the opposite direction. I would definitely stay here again.

A spectacular location will difficult road access makes this a bit of a get away from it all experience. In January it did have the feel of a place which was very out of season, quiet, not many guests, restaurant quite empty. We had a one night stop to visit Reach Falls which worked fine. Rooms are fairly basic but clean and comfortable.

The location is a perfect getaway from the typical tourist spots. The view of the sea and the natural scenery will make you wanting to come back every chance you get. There’s a great Jamaican chef on location and you will enjoy the foods.

As a Jamaican national and native from Portland I was truly impressed with the property and my stay for the two nights. This trip was the pre celebration for my wifey birthday. The property is authentic and rustic and very secluded. Terrance helped to check us in and showed us great hospitality while on property. Breakfast is included and was delicious. We also ate dinner one night which was delightful as well. The views from the room overlooking the ocean is priceless. The pictures online don’t do justice to the property.

We stayed for one night. Arrived at 7pm. Restaurant closes at 8 and stops taking orders by 7pm. The views are amazing and the sound of the Caribbean Sea is ceaseless and primordial. That’s the best thing this hotel has going on for it. It’s rustic which is by design but also is in need of updating ( paint chipping , cracks etc). The beds were comfortable and there is ac in rooms. The breakfast is limited but what we had ( Salish rundown and cooked “food” was good. I did yoga and exercises on the balcony in the morning. Overall I would stay again mostly because of the Caribbean Sea

Had to change rooms because of lack of warm water, sharp bed edges, barking dogs etc etc. Other room was better but had a television attached to the ceiling in the middle at 1.85 cm ! Roofs are made out of Aluminium plates...so every drop of rain can be heard.. Restaurant is ok but overpriced. So are the rooms

It was my second visit. The view is very scenic and peaceful. The dining options are limited with few other off property options and the property needs upkeep. On both visits the pool was dirty and the pool area unkempt and so the pool is not utilized. Property just needs to be properly maintained as otherwise it has great potential.

We checked in at the end of February 2024 and enjoyed our stay here. Terence coordinated a beautiful candlelight dinner by the water (tip: book ahead). There is an extra associated cost but worth it in our minds and was offered to us as an option. Monique (who checked us in) was very attentive/accommodating and when asked about different (more comfortable) balcony chairs, she said she would check and before we knew it, there was someone at our door with the new chairs! The master grand suite provided a beautiful view of the ocean and lulled us to sleep each night. Some of the property is worn down, but to be expected due to repeated contact with salt water. This is normal! If you are comfortable to take a local taxi, do it and take a trip to the Boston Jerk Centre and Boston Beach. Locals tend to dine at the resort restaurant as the food is incredible. Breakfast was included with our stay and we always chose the traditional Jamaican cuisine and it always so well presented and extremely delicious! We would definitely go back and will request the Inn Seclusion or Private Chalet next time! Just based on what we could see from the outside. Enjoy yourself at the Sea Cliff Resort!! We certainly did (celebrating 25 years of marriage here).

This resort was amazing with the views and sounds of the ocean. We loved the nature feel of our room. It felt like a honeymoon location! Loved that breakfast was included and they have a restaurant although we didn’t get a chance to try anything other than breakfast. If you want to get away from the hustle and go to the serenity very peaceful place. We will be returning on our next trip.

Loved that breakfast was included and they have a restaurant although we didn’t get a chance to try anything other than breakfast. If you want to get away from the hustle and go to the serenity very peaceful place. We will be returning on our next trip.

The hotel provided a clean room, pleasant staff, and great view from the balcony. The breakfast does need a vegetarian/vegan option. Otherwise, it was good and well cooked. The pool area did need a bit of tidying, but it's good for an early morning swim.

Our experience at Sea Cliff Resort was, without question, the worst lodging experience we've ever had. We booked a **non-refundable Sea View Two-Bedroom Suite** through Hotels.com based on the listing's photos and description. When we arrived, the accommodations we were given did not resemble what was advertised. The rooms were dirty, had stained concrete floors and walls, a shattered sliding glass door, a moldy shower, no hot water, a filthy refrigerator, and no closets or dresser drawers for clothing storage. We documented everything with photos and videos. To the manager's credit, he attempted to offer another room, but it would have required us to move multiple times during our stay, which was not practical as we were in Jamaica for a family memorial. We ultimately had to leave the property after one night and pay thousands of dollars for alternate accommodations. Since our stay, Sea Cliff Resort appears to have updated the listing photos to more accurately reflect the rooms and amenities. Unfortunately, that does not change what we experienced or the basis on which we made our reservation. We are currently disputing the **$3,820.05** charge with our credit card company because we believe the accommodations provided were materially different from those that were advertised and purchased. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this property. I strongly encourage prospective guests to carefully review the current listing, ask detailed questions before booking.

The food was great Did encounter a very rude staff other than HER ..!!! the staff was great Maintaining the property very poorly I could write a two page paragraph on this, but I will just say do better the view was awesome. I loved it. Breakfast was great.house keeping was great.🙏

Sea cliff resort and spa looks nothing like advertised. The place is delapidated, neglected and unkempt. I stayed here for 3 nights and was disappointed, worst hotel experience I ever had. I Absolutely would not recommend staying here. I saw dog feces and trash piles on the property. The pool and deck very poorly maintained, dingy and unclean. I did not feel comfortable so did not get in it. The room had a beautiful view from the balcony and that is the only positive comment I can honestly make. The railing is rusted and crumbling, peeling paint everywhere, dead insects in the shade over bathroom light, and mildew in the shower. There is a mirror hanging on the wall, so decayed it is covered with black spots. The shower and faucet at the sink had only a trickle of water. Management came to fix it but nothing improved, he said he could not fix the faucet at the sink and left and that was that. I am only speaking of my experience honestly. I would not recommend this place .
