The Rockaway Hotel

We enjoyed using the hotel’s bikes for a ride along the boardwalk!

We love coming to the Rockaway Hotel because it feels like a vacation oasis. The staff is wonderful, and the spa is amazing. Will definitely be returning.

Beautiful boutique hotel one block from the beach! (Although we didn’t take advantage, they have beach chairs available for guests!) Small heated pool which was kind of crowded but still very nice! Room was small but plenty of space for sleeping! King bed was VERY comfortable! I also had a very nice massage in their spa! Would definitely recommend!!

I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is beautiful classy and quiet a great staycation spot the beach is right in front of you there is also a pool and outdoor sauna's and a spa. I had a great experience at the spa I got the rock and glow package totally worth it and dinner at Margie’s was great too I definitely will be back.

Sadly the pool was out of order , which was a big pull to stay there. Very happy the first night, the longer I stayed the less clean the room was cleaned. The concierge staff were very helpful and the maintenance workers were extremely friendly and helpful. Would stay there again, but something was slightly lacking.

The property was very well kept and the decor was quite nice. It has everything but an onsite gym and the pool wasn't open.

Absolutely gorgeous property with incredible staff from Alina at front desk, Tom and Kayla at pool house, and Christian at rooftop and Margies. Food and drink were delicious and pool /sauna/ lobby truly relaxing. A real gem!

Stayed 1 night with a few friends to celebrate a birthday. Hotel is beautiful and staff was amazing. We specifically wanted to laze in the heated pool for the afternoon but we’re not informed that the heater was not working and the pool was freezing. Other than that, our stay was great. 1 night was enough for what there was to do in the area.

Very loud music prevented sleep and loud hard rock does not fit with the spa theme. They need to decide what they want to be. People attending a spa want peace and quiet, not a full night of hard rock. Front desk staff insisted that the view attached is a bay view. That was truly odd, but they did finally agree to move us. The property is clean and nice. Housekeeping friendly and excellent.

Well maintained with friendly staffing. Rooms are small but very cleaned, and comfortable. I will go back there.

Great overall, though rooms are extremely small with minimal storage space. Also the room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned during our stay.

For the price we paid (>$600/night) we expected at least a 4 star hotel experience, let alone some place that basically markets itself as a little resort. The AC in our room was gross (spewed water and mysterious black chunks onto the bed), the floor in our room hadn’t been swept or mopped, and the dining service at the rooftop and the restaurant were really bad. You can tell that they are trying to win over customers with flash and style, but do not have the right management in place to actually make things work well. Disappointed and will not be returning.

While I believe the concept behind the property was well intended — it seems that the operations/management team lacks in several key areas. During our stay, the tv nor the internet functioned. Arguably, two of the most important things during the stay — simply did not work. And although the employee at the time (Theresa, I believe) was amazing, she couldn’t provide a fix. Additionally, we noticed that the bathrooms and much of the furniture in the bedroom was untouched and had collected dirt and debris. Unfortunately, I probably won’t give this place another shot.

The property was clean and accessible upon arrival. The front desk was accommodating to our needs.

My stay at this hotel was supposed to be a couples quiet relaxing stay however it was a nightmare. The staff upon check in was very nice and welcoming. Once we entered the room I was very shocked that the room had absolutely no space to move around and was extremely small to be a luxury hotel . The bed had a yellow stain on it and we removed some of those sheets rather than complaining being we only stayed 1 night . At 5:55 we arrived to the spa. The spa service for me was amazing with Joseph (I feel so bad I should’ve left him a cash tip) I left my room key with the lady in the spa so she can give it to my partner being I would finish way before him. The key ended up getting lost . I went downstairs around 10 pm to retrieve the pizza we ordered and I asked about the key . No one offered me a new set of keys only stated it would be deactivated if I took it back . Around 12:45AM we heard someone try to come inside the room with the key . Luckily the chain was on the door . Then someone tried to come inside the side door which the room was connected but never locked the door back after we screamed and asked who was that . No phone in the room I had to google the front desk phone number and call . Spoke with jason who was EXTREMELY rude and stated he would come up to check it out and never did . I called again multiple times to at least lock the side door and he hung up the phone on me . After calming down but no sleep at all we packed up and spoke to the front desk manager …….

They gave us a very large room. Very accommodating.

They put us in a room, the size of a closet. There was literally nothing but a bed and a bathroom. There wasn’t even a table and chairs for us to eat. No microwave, no refrigerator, nothing just a bed. The TV stopped working about halfway through so they upgraded us to a bit bigger room one that had a bed with a table and chairs.Still no microwave or refrigerator. They have a basket with candy chips and chocolate in it and if you choose to accept one of them, you will be charged at least eight dollars. $10 for a bag of popcorn is ridiculous. I wound up paying $43 for opening the popcorn and chips.The room was freezing. They have this heater built into the wall way up by the ceiling so you can’t even feel the heat. The shower was way too complicated to operate. They gave me a room with an ocean view in a terrace. That was the only good thing. would not recommend for $300 DEFINITELY NOT worth it

1. We did not like that there are not enough space around the bed, like it is too narrow both side and front of the bed. It was the biggest disappointment. 2. Doesn't have a freezer and microwave oven. 3. The AC doesn't have a remote control and Thermostat touch screen is too late to response and confusing. Didn't understand what we commanded but it gave us 72 degree anyways (because of central control may be). 4. And at last if you call it "Ocean View" I don't know what to say. For the best view you need to build a tall building and more closer to the Ocean.

This was a three star stay. The place was clean and modern, with a beautiful spa. The hotel room was tiny, with barely any room to walk around with the two queen beds. There was no fridge (you have to ask for a tiny mini fridge that won’t fit food/lefovers and they charge you for it) and I would have liked a hot tub, especially in the off season. There was no included breakfast, which was quite the let down since you can get a breakfast buffet at a cheaper hotel. The vending machine was filled with off brand random items. There is a restaurant in the building which is beautiful but pricey. Parking is street parking, just pay attention to the signs for street cleaning. There is a lot down the street but it’s crazy pricey (one night was $70). Make sure you get your parking ticket at the desk before parking in the lot so you don’t pay that.) The ferry is a five minute walk, and there is beach and playgrounds close by. The ferry will take you right to the Wall Street pier. The roof of the hotel (6th floor) is a bar and it’s fairly busy. We couldn’t heart it on the third floor which was nice. Overall our stay was comfortable. Probably won’t stay again, but it was nice while we did.

Tiny rooms- king balcony suite had 12 inch gap either side of the bed- no closet to hang clothing, small bathroom. Rest of hotel was nicely kept- good restaurants adjoining- everywhere except your room size- is good. Staff can offer different answers to simple questions- they appear to be getting better organized - but certainly need this.

Great views from my room. Very friendly staff. Missed having a coffee in the room and the pool bar music was a little loud in my room. Hope to be back soon.

I have been coming to Rockaway for years, but never had the pleasure of staying here until now! Wonderful staff, delicious food, beautiful aesthetics (loved loved loved all the art!), wonderful pool area, and all around magnificent time. Will look forward to coming back! (Also, I was working the whole time, but the super fast wifi and calming ambience made that much easier)

I arrived for my check-in and there was one other client ahead of me waiting to be serviced. There was only one front desk clerk (granted it was quite late). I had no issies waiting, once it was my turn the front desk agent was professional and even offered a beverage to enjoy during the seamless check-in process. 10/10 would recommend.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. I had an electric scooter and the front desk clerk offered to give me a slightly larger room so it would fit comfortably. My whole family met at the rooftop bar for a little celebration and the staff provided us with a candle, which was lovely. When my son and his fiance stayed in my room for a few hours while sick, I asked the staff to change the linens and disinfect the room once they left, and it was not a problem. My one and only issue was that I did not know how to operate the shower. I got scalded and frozen repeatedly while attempting to adjust the dials. I would highly suggest having some written instructions somewhere other than "in the app", which I never saw or knew was necessary.

They charged the $46 amenity fee twice - once on the reservation and once after we checked out. The fee was supposed to include a "welcome drink" and morning coffee. Nope. (We borrowed very poorly maintained cruiser bikes from them at least.) One of the lights in our room was burnt out. We called the staff, and they said they'd send someone up right away. Nope. Great location. Pretty building. Maybe they'll get better. Valet parking was super slow (>30'). Just self park in the neighborhood. We'll burn money elsewhere next time. Lol.

Had a wonderful staycation at the Rockaway Hotel! Kudos to Alina for going above and beyond to assist me with whatever I needed during my stay. The front desk staff was quick to respond and attentive whenever I made a room request. Meals were delicious and we loved the pool - though the water was a bit too hot the first day we were there. They are also in close proximity to other cool restaurants - Adrienne being our favorite. Pricy but so worth it for ambiance and the food. All in all, a fun trip. We will definitely be back!

Exceptional staff from front desk to restaurants to housekeeping. Great location walking distance from NY Rockaway Ferry (takes you straight to Wall Street).

We loved our stay. The staff is outstanding. The property is chic. We love the black art and its placement around the hotel. Its proximity to the Ferry allows for easy trips into Manhattan. No subway! Great place to stay! We’ll be back!

What a fabulous accidental find this hotel was. The decor is uplifting and cool, the beds are super comfortable, the food was great. The highlight was the excellent and friendly service from all the poolside staff.

All staff members were amazing from the front desk to the dining staff, go see Cliff! Best waiter out there. Took good care of me with my allergies and accommodated my pregnant wife.. downside is that someone was throwing a party on Sunday night and music was like a lil Wayne concert until midnight. Wish they were respectful of the people there as well as others with their kids ect. Also, very limited on food options on THREE different restaurants, would like to see more options.. Overall great place to spend time

Do not miss the spa! Wonderful facial!! The on-site restaurants are wonderful. Though I often skip breakfast, the avocado toast and French toast with berries were great. (Not to mention the lovely, friendly staff!). Don’t miss the little coffee shop. 😎

Really nicely designed hotel, a warm retreat on a freezing winter night before a flight from JFK. The highlight was Margie's, the fabulous onsite bar and restaurant with exceptional service and outstanding food and drink. Unfortunately the hotel service is just "okay' and falls short of the design excellence - they'd really benefit in adopting the restaurants approach to looking after customers.

I thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant on the first floor as well as the poolside food/beverage service.

My husband and I stayed for Valentine’s Day. We loved the spa/pool/saunas. I got a massage & we both got facials. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Both restaurants we dined at were great. We can’t wait to come back in the summer! Also a plus was getting champagne multiple times for being a guest & getting spa treatments I love that little touch
