Lovely place to stay near Newmarket, I had booked it because it offered rooms with baths. I was travelling with work and knew I wanted an early night and a bath. Hotels.com listed the available room as having the option of a bath so i requested it. To be fair the hotel never confirmed the request and i forgot to follow up. When i arrived in the afternoon I was given a room with a shower only , I asked if it was possible to change but unfortunately it wasn’t. Everything else about the stay was perfect, a couple of minor maintenance issues in the bathroom (dirty grout and mirror light not working) but otherwise spotless, comfy bed, quiet and staff couldn’t have been nicer. Food was good. I was disappointed that it wasn’t possible to have a bath in the room and would have booked somewhere else if I had known in advance. Might be a good idea to modify the hotels.com listing.

The female staff on checkin were very helpful and chatty. There was NO water in the room and the TV only had Radio stations. We were told abruptly by a young guy on checkout we should have used the Jug in the bedroom, under bathroom tap!! I was so dehydrated and felt unwell we left without breakfast.

The pub is friendly with good food and staff. The separate block which houses the bedrooms looks boring but the bedrooms inside are incredibly beautiful. I enjoyed underfloor heating in the bathroom and the lovely views of the countryside.
