We had booked the Solamons to stay because we had an evening wedding reception.We also booked lunch for 14:00 with friends who were also staying there.We arrived early so our rooms were not ready.We met out friends in the dining room for coffee only to find out there was no lunch provided until 17:00.This was not explained to us even when we got a phone call confirming our room and a table was booked for 14:00.They could only offer us a cream tea.This was very disappointing that no one had informed us.Apart from that everything else was ok and we did receive a refund.But would not stay there again.

Travelled here to stay for family wedding Located on sprawling wooded estate Main building originally a private home, and is stunning. Accommodation in scattered motel type buildings throughout the estate. Travelled 7 hours, in bad conditions, no food or bar available in this hotel due to hosting another function! Take away menus in the room, local take always a few minutes drive, plus delivery options, but what we’re we supposed to eat it with?, as we had no cutlery/ crockery and reception quite a walk. Ended up opting to drive and pick up fish and chips so we could at least order in trays and get forks. Not good for a hotel to have no facilities Bedroom small, very comfortable bed. Usual tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom no window, so not ideal, and they are providing shampoo/ conditioner etc in small plastic bottles although there was a shower gel dispenser in the shower, it was empty. Please stop using these single use plastics here you can! Breakfast good. Good quality, sliced bread dry as it was just left out uncovered. I felt like we were very late customers on a coach holiday when we went in at 9.30 (breakfast available until 10.30). Huge shared tables, with staff emptying tables around us - fair enough, but also taking off table clothes and throwing on the floor. We sat in there surrounded by 3 large empty tables. Just leave the cloths on until 10.30! Housekeeping noisy in morning, couldn’t sleep in even if you wanted.

Short business trip so was just looking for a cheap place to stay. Single room with all the essentials in a modern block of conference centre type rooms. The main building though is an old country house and is beautiful and used as a wedding venue. Breakfast included was very good. Would have liked to have stayed longer so I could look around the estate.

have had multiple stays at the hotel this year, enjoying the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. However, this changes when there is a wedding taking place. The wedding party tends to behave as if they own the hotel, disregarding the needs of other guests. It would make sense for them to have their own designated area to ensure a better experience for everyone. Prior to making a reservation, I highly recommend inquiring about any upcoming weddings to avoid any inconvenience. Overall, I have had wonderful stays at this hotel before this particular incident occurred.

Good friendly and helpful staff. Nice conservatory where a group of us had dinner. Attractive lounge for pre-dinner drinks. Attractive grounds with walks. Accommodation in the garden cottages was up a steep hill but there was always the possibility of being given a lift in the golf buggy which we took advantage of. Good plentiful breakfast, self service, Continental and cooked.

A very unusual property, being a Victorian estate built into a hillside. It is very easy to get lost at Salomons Estate, so th signage could have been better. You have to register at reception first before receiving a map to the building that you will be staying in. I found the lady on reception to be less than helpful, but she was better the following morning when I checked out. I had to ask another guest which building was which as there are several and it wasn't clear where to go - better signage needed. It was there, but facing the wrong direction for me to see it as I was driving in. My room was very small, but adequate and thankfully had an ensuite,vas I was originally expecting a shared bedroom/ dormitory and a shared bathroom. Thankfully this was not the case. The room was clean, there was some dirt on one of the walls in the bathroom, but for hostel type accommodation, it was fine. A nice touch were the earplugs that were provided. I haven't come across that before. The blinds didn't quite fit the windows and you could see daylight around the edges. The shower was great. As it was quite a steep hill back to reception and breakfast, I drove back to reception. Nobody offered to show me where breakfast was being served, although I had found this out the night before. Again other guests had to tell me what to do, which was essentially self service. Anyway, breakfast was varied and good. All in all, I enjoyed my stay at Salomons Estate and would recommend it. We booked the venue for our wedding! Solomon’s itself is gorgeous. The rooms don’t really go with the beautiful design of Salomons. They are fairly small (including the “club room” for the bride and groom”) however the venue makes up for what the room lacks. Beautiful grounds with a little lake, bridge and lots of greenary, great for pictures and just for a stroll around. Lovely quiet and picturesque place to be. Nice little museum inside to tell you the history of the venue too. Staff are brilliant! So helpful! Our wedding planner Melissa was incredible and made the planning and the day itself run smoothly and most importantly stress free! Thank you to all the Salomons team

I was very impressed by how quickly the gentleman on reception sorted out some issues in my room. When I got to my room, the heating was off and there was no hot water, I contacted reception and within five minutes someone was at my room to look into it. There was a problem, and I was moved to another room with the help of the young man on reception. Issues occur, especially on a property of this size, what makes all the difference is how those problems are dealt with. The gentleman I dealt with was polite, helpful and made me feel important and cared for. I would not hesitate to recommend staying at this location. It’s very clean, beautiful location, stunning views and all the staff are friendly and helpful.

It's a beautiful lodge to arrive at. As guest in the outer accommodation be mindful the old architecture stops here. However, the rooms were soaps spacious and clean and over looked the extensive grounds.

We were really impressed considering how affordable our room was. It wasn't in the prettiest building but it was very clean and comfortable with a lovely shower. The estate itself is stunning and the house lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was top notch with a huge selection of nice quality food. We stayed with a 2 yr old and a cot was smart up for us on request. Staff were kind and understanding. Really good all round.

A very unusual property, being a Victorian estate built into a hillside. It is very easy to get lost at Salomons Estate, so th signage could have been better. You have to register at reception first before receiving a map to the building that you will be staying in. I found the lady on reception to be less than helpful, but she was better the following morning when I checked out. I had to ask another guest which building was which as there are several and it wasn't clear where to go - better signage needed. It was there, but facing the wrong direction for me to see it as I was driving in. My room was very small, but adequate and thankfully had an ensuite,vas I was originally expecting a shared bedroom/ dormitory and a shared bathroom. Thankfully this was not the case. The room was clean, there was some dirt on one of the walls in the bathroom, but for hostel type accommodation, it was fine. A nice touch were the earplugs that were provided. I haven't come across that before. The blinds didn't quite fit the windows and you could see daylight around the edges. The shower was great. As it was quite a steep hill back to reception and breakfast, I drove back to reception. Nobody offered to show me where breakfast was being served, although I had found this out the night before. Again other guests had to tell me what to do, which was essentially self service. Anyway, breakfast was varied and good. All in all, I enjoyed my stay at Salomons Estate and would recommend it. The name and photos in the accommodation did not feel reflective of what was offered. The building my accommodation was in looks from the 70s/80s, which really contrasts to the 'Estate'. Within the accommodation the decor feels tired and basic. Perhaps that reflects the price, but I personally think you get much better value for money at a Premier Inn. This was all amplified by the fact that my room had barely warm water in the shower and the heating didn't come on at all. Cancelled the other stay I had booked. Pros are that the grounds are lovely, and the bed was also comfortable.

Short business trip so was just looking for a cheap place to stay. Single room with all the essentials in a modern block of conference centre type rooms. The main building though is an old country house and is beautiful and used as a wedding venue. Breakfast included was very good. Would have liked to have stayed longer so I could look around the estate.

We were really impressed considering how affordable our room was. It wasn't in the prettiest building but it was very clean and comfortable with a lovely shower. The estate itself is stunning and the house lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was top notch with a huge selection of nice quality food. We stayed with a 2 yr old and a cot was smart up for us on request. Staff were kind and understanding. Really good all round.

Pleasantly surprised considering the price and some of the reviews. Worried on arrival as there was a wedding booked which we didn’t know about. It didn’t affect us in the end and we couldn’t hear it from our room. The room was clean and comfortable, it could do with upgrading to air conditioning though. Breakfast was nice and plentiful. The surrounding grounds were nice to sit in and walk around.

Beautiful space and great value for the one night. Staff were wonderful and breakfast was good. Unfortunately it was quite hot, and there is no AC. They do supply a small fan and windows do open, but this also meant bugs were able get in from outside.

We had booked the Solamons to stay because we had an evening wedding reception.We also booked lunch for 14:00 with friends who were also staying there.We arrived early so our rooms were not ready.We met out friends in the dining room for coffee only to find out there was no lunch provided until 17:00.This was not explained to us even when we got a phone call confirming our room and a table was booked for 14:00.They could only offer us a cream tea.This was very disappointing that no one had informed us.Apart from that everything else was ok and we did receive a refund.But would not stay there again.

I was very impressed by how quickly the gentleman on reception sorted out some issues in my room. When I got to my room, the heating was off and there was no hot water, I contacted reception and within five minutes someone was at my room to look into it. There was a problem, and I was moved to another room with the help of the young man on reception. Issues occur, especially on a property of this size, what makes all the difference is how those problems are dealt with. The gentleman I dealt with was polite, helpful and made me feel important and cared for. I would not hesitate to recommend staying at this location. have had multiple stays at the hotel this year, enjoying the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. However, this changes when there is a wedding taking place. The wedding party tends to behave as if they own the hotel, disregarding the needs of other guests. It would make sense for them to have their own designated area to ensure a better experience for everyone. Prior to making a reservation, I highly recommend inquiring about any upcoming weddings to avoid any inconvenience. Good friendly and helpful staff. Nice conservatory where a group of us had dinner. Attractive lounge for pre-dinner drinks. Attractive grounds with walks. Accommodation in the garden cottages was up a steep hill but there was always the possibility of being given a lift in the golf buggy which we took advantage of. Good plentiful breakfast, self service, Continental and cooked.

We booked the venue for our wedding! Solomon’s itself is gorgeous. The rooms don’t really go with the beautiful design of Salomons. They are fairly small (including the “club room” for the bride and groom”) however the venue makes up for what the room lacks. Beautiful grounds with a little lake, bridge and lots of greenary, great for pictures and just for a stroll around. Lovely quiet and picturesque place to be. Nice little museum inside to tell you the history of the venue too. Staff are brilliant! So helpful! Our wedding planner Melissa was incredible and made the planning and the day itself run smoothly and most importantly stress free! Thank you to all the Salomons team

A very unusual property, being a Victorian estate built into a hillside. It is very easy to get lost at Salomons Estate, so th signage could have been better. You have to register at reception first before receiving a map to the building that you will be staying in. I found the lady on reception to be less than helpful, but she was better the following morning when I checked out. I had to ask another guest which building was which as there are several and it wasn't clear where to go - better signage needed. It was there, but facing the wrong direction for me to see it as I was driving in. My room was very small, but adequate and thankfully had an ensuite,vas I was originally expecting a shared bedroom/ dormitory and a shared bathroom. Thankfully this was not the case. The room was clean, there was some dirt on one of the walls in the bathroom, but for hostel type accommodation, it was fine. A nice touch were the earplugs that were provided. I haven't come across that before. The blinds didn't quite fit the windows and you could see daylight around the edges. The shower was great. As it was quite a steep hill back to reception and breakfast, I drove back to reception. Nobody offered to show me where breakfast was being served, although I had found this out the night before. Again other guests had to tell me what to do, which was essentially self service. Anyway, breakfast was varied and good. All in all, I enjoyed my stay at Salomons Estate and would recommend it. We had booked the Solamons to stay because we had an evening wedding reception.We also booked lunch for 14:00 with friends who were also staying there.We arrived early so our rooms were not ready.We met out friends in the dining room for coffee only to find out there was no lunch provided until 17:00.This was not explained to us even when we got a phone call confirming our room and a table was booked for 14:00.They could only offer us a cream tea.This was very disappointing that no one had informed us.Apart from that everything else was ok and we did receive a refund.But would not stay there again.

Travelled here to stay for family wedding Located on sprawling wooded estate Main building originally a private home, and is stunning. Accommodation in scattered motel type buildings throughout the estate. Travelled 7 hours, in bad conditions, no food or bar available in this hotel due to hosting another function! Take away menus in the room, local take always a few minutes drive, plus delivery options, but what we’re we supposed to eat it with?, as we had no cutlery/ crockery and reception quite a walk. Ended up opting to drive and pick up fish and chips so we could at least order in trays and get forks. Not good for a hotel to have no facilities Bedroom small, very comfortable bed. Usual tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom no window, so not ideal, and they are providing shampoo/ conditioner etc in small plastic bottles although there was a shower gel dispenser in the shower, it was empty. Please stop using these single use plastics here you can! Breakfast good. Good quality, sliced bread dry as it was just left out uncovered. I felt like we were very late customers on a coach holiday when we went in at 9.30 (breakfast available until 10.30). Huge shared tables, with staff emptying tables around us - fair enough, but also taking off table clothes and throwing on the floor. We sat in there surrounded by 3 large empty tables. Just leave the cloths on until 10.30! Housekeeping noisy in morning, couldn’t sleep in even if you wanted.

Short business trip so was just looking for a cheap place to stay. Single room with all the essentials in a modern block of conference centre type rooms. The main building though is an old country house and is beautiful and used as a wedding venue. Breakfast included was very good. Would have liked to have stayed longer so I could look around the estate.

We were really impressed considering how affordable our room was. It wasn't in the prettiest building but it was very clean and comfortable with a lovely shower. The estate itself is stunning and the house lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was top notch with a huge selection of nice quality food. We stayed with a 2 yr old and a cot was smart up for us on request. Staff were kind and understanding. Really good all round.

Pleasantly surprised considering the price and some of the reviews. Worried on arrival as there was a wedding booked which we didn’t know about. It didn’t affect us in the end and we couldn’t hear it from our room. The room was clean and comfortable, it could do with upgrading to air conditioning though. Breakfast was nice and plentiful. The surrounding grounds were nice to sit in and walk around.

Frustratingly the issues with the property are known by the staff - Leaky roof , Poor housekeeping-food debris left in sink from previous guests, floor had not been cleaned, fridge seals need cleaning (fridge doesn’t close so just makes a horrible noise), grease pool on cooker top. Rodents running from fridge to cooker. With all of the above a free breakfast was offered as compensation however this was a bit of a disaster as well, all tables were dirty, no available cutlery, fried eggs were rock hard! On check out the rodents were dismissed as ‘in keeping with the character of the property’ Overall - a visit from the Hotel Inspector is needed.

A beautiful house set in extensive grounds with lovely views. A comfortable stay in a quiet location but close to Tunbridge Wells and very easy access to explore the local area with good restaurants and shopping. It was very good standard of hotel and clean. The museum on site has engaging history of the site.

Room basic but clean, needs a little maintenance- comfy bed and fan on when entering room to help keep cool on hot day was helpful as no air con. Breakfast was lovely but no sweet pastries…. Nice grounds and quiet location but needed some more plants in the stone planters to make better impression. Overall a nice stay.

Lovely location & welcoming staff. Parking was adjacent to the accommodation which was handy. The bed was comfortable but with no air conditioning, the room was over-hot, so it was difficult to sleep. With windows open the overhead aircraft also disturbed our sleep. The first room we were allocated had a broken, jammed basin plug mechanism, so we appreciated being allocated the next door room. However, the shower trim in that room was paltry & fell into the shower while showering. We didn’t stay for breakfast, as we wanted an early start to our journey. We would stay again, as the location is good, but housekeeping need to check that rooms are fully functioning, before letting them!

A dreadful place...unless you read the small print...your not staying in the big house...No!..your sent up hill to a building that resembles a holding area for refugees...Small room..3 tea bags.. 2 milks..and some coffee..The most horrible experience....Thank god I was only there one night..Others where also complaining...You imagine your in the big house....That illusion is soon shattered....

The staff registration desk were very pleasant and assisted us in calling for a taxi. The photos were somewhat misleading as to the rooms given for accommodations. They are a separate dorm-type building; clean, simple, not at all like the main Estate pictured. The price-point was fair for the accommodations. Breakfast was good though we were not greeted by any staff and were not exactly sure if we were in the correct place for the included breakfast. The estate, grounds & location were beautiful and have such history, it should be a much sought after destination.
