Really friendly staff, highly recommend the family room....very spacious, clean, facilities great standard. Great choice for breakfast, full English was very tasty. Also recommend the restaurant for your evening Chinese meal, lots of choice, speedy service and tastes amazing.

Very welcoming host, nice big rooms and a Chinese restaurant on site for evening meal or a pub also linked to the property. Breakfast was nice and plenty of parking available. Would recommend pre-ordering a taxi if wanting to go into Ripon or Thirsk as the location is a bit out of the way.

Found this place and wasn't sure what to expect but had a wonderful stay and will be staying again every time in the area. The hotel has a Chinese restaurant sa well as a traditional pub. The food was amazing and Irecommend everyone to try the taster menu (2 main taters for £17.50). Staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

The room was clean and well appointed. The service and food in the Chinese restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. The locals in the bar were friendly and invited us to join in a quiz.Alice was a superb host.

The family room was generous . It was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food served is Cantonese and was delicious. The pub area was separate to the restaurant area, which made it relaxing and enjoyable. The pub area is friendly and not rowdy. I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Friendly staff...excellent parking facilities, plenty of room for parking. Easy to find..excellent chinese restaurant on site...nothing too much trouble. I would return.

Bathroom and bedding clean.Some good touches(toothbrushes and razors if needed).Ample parking and lovely hanging baskets. Mattress needed replacing as did some lightbulbs in corridor and lighting in corridor didn’t always come on.Staircarpet grubby.Decor tired.Stains on bedroom carpet.Cooked breakfast very greasy.No cereals.Will not return.Very disappointed.

I stayed in the family room which was large and spacious. Very clean with good size en-suite. Alice was so helpful and friendly. She takes the trouble to remember all guests by their first names. Free parking behind hotel. Peaceful, comfortable and would definitely stay here again. Cooked English breakfast was delicious!

Excellent stay. Very kind, friendly and courteous owner. The menu for evening food was first class and the food absolutely delicious. Cosy and clean rooms. Peaceful and quiet location too.

Good car parking and owners very flexible and accommodating. Rooms are very dated and clean but not spotless. Breakfast was poor. No fruit juices or cereal until we asked for it. Cooked breakfast served on cold plates and served as soon as you sat down, so not exactly fresh cooked. Just meat and eggs, no tomatoes or mushrooms.

This was perfect for a one night stay. At £78 per night I guess that’s a mid price range for pub accommodation. It was a lovely spacious, clean room. My only criticism would be that the whole accommodation area would benefit from from some redecoration as it looked a little tired.

Room was spotless.Alice was an excellent host,she even went out of her way to drive us back into the town centre to collect our car.The breakfast was lovely,can’t fault anything.Will definitely book again next time we attend the races.

Alice who owns the property goes above and beyond what she needs to do she knows every guest by there 1st name had a meal in the Cantonese restaurant (which alice runs) on Friday and the food was 1st class breakfast there a choice a good choice all the staff are very friendly beds very comfortable and clean , showers nice and hot decor could do with a up date but to be honest I wasn’t there to look at the decor there was a group of 6 and we would definitely go back

Late arrival and early out but was still welcomed by Alice the owner. Breakfast was offered and even provided at an earlier time than normally given, for which I was very grateful. A great cooked breakfast kicked off my morning and soon I was on my way. This was a perfect location to break up a long North to South journey. Very pleasant indeed. Sad that I missed out on what looked like a super Chinese dining experience for an evening meal! And just a few mins of the A1M

Was right near the polar express train and the is a lovely place. The food was nice and the owner was friendly and very nice. Would stay again, the food was also good.

We had an excellent stay at the Nags Head. Located on the edge of the Moors, Pickhill is a beautiful quiet village with excellent walks straight from the car park. Alice and her team were so friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable. Our evening meal (chinese food) was excellent as was the English breakfast. The locals in the bar were friendly which gave the place a great atmosphere. We will definately be back and highly recommend.

Owner was very friendly and helpful. We had a chinese meal in the restaurant which was excellent too. We did have difficulties finding the property as satnav took us to another of the same name. Owner was very friendly and helpful. We had a chinese meal in the restaurant which was excellent too. We did have difficulties finding the property as satnav took us to another of the same name. Friendly staff...excellent parking facilities, plenty of room for parking. Easy to find..excellent chinese restaurant on site...nothing too much trouble. I would return.

Wonderful stopover on way to our Daughter’s wedding. Great host and hospitality. Fantastic Chinese restaurant and breakfast next morning. Definitely one to be recommended.

Really friendly staff, highly recommend the family room....very spacious, clean, facilities great standard. Great choice for breakfast, full English was very tasty. Also recommend the restaurant for your evening Chinese meal, lots of choice, speedy service and tastes amazing.

Found this place and wasn't sure what to expect but had a wonderful stay and will be staying again every time in the area. The hotel has a Chinese restaurant sa well as a traditional pub. The food was amazing and Irecommend everyone to try the taster menu (2 main taters for £17.50). Staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

The room was clean and well appointed. The service and food in the Chinese restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. The locals in the bar were friendly and invited us to join in a quiz.Alice was a superb host.

Good car parking and owners very flexible and accommodating. Rooms are very dated and clean but not spotless. Breakfast was poor. No fruit juices or cereal until we asked for it. Cooked breakfast served on cold plates and served as soon as you sat down, so not exactly fresh cooked. Just meat and eggs, no tomatoes or mushrooms.

We had an excellent stay at the Nags Head. Located on the edge of the Moors, Pickhill is a beautiful quiet village with excellent walks straight from the car park. Alice and her team were so friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable. Our evening meal (chinese food) was excellent as was the English breakfast. The locals in the bar were friendly which gave the place a great atmosphere. We will definately be back and highly recommend.

We had a couple of nights at the Nag's head. Alice, the proprietor, was very friendly and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was very generous, with gluten-free food available. Highly recommended.

Bathroom and bedding clean.Some good touches(toothbrushes and razors if needed).Ample parking and lovely hanging baskets. Mattress needed replacing as did some lightbulbs in corridor and lighting in corridor didn’t always come on.Staircarpet grubby.Decor tired.Stains on bedroom carpet.Cooked breakfast very greasy.No cereals.Will not return.Very disappointed.

Had a good stay, whilst stopping off on a road trip down south. Not the most comfortable bed, very soft, but the room and bathroom were adequate. Owner and staff were all friendly and helpful. Had a wonderful Chinese meal in the evening - would highly recommend, and the cooked breakfast was perfect, set me up for the day! Overall, a good experience and I would stay again.

Great stay .Food was excellent. Room spacious and clean. Lots of little extras . Toiletries etc . The owner was lovely couldn’t be more helpful The only downside was th steep and narrow stairs.

Alice was fabulous and it was the best Cantonese meal ever in the restaurant, and the ambience of the place was wonderful, but the rooms could do with an overhaul, modernization, the room we had was too small for a double and the whole place looked a bit tired, but the staff made up for this and the breakfast and food in the restaurant was amazing. It is a bit remote, nothing to do locally without a car, and the nearest town was Thirsk which is a good 20 minutes in the car you cannot walk to it.
