We enjoy the Dragonfly Inn, its cute retro decor in the rooms. They take the extra steps to ensure you have a peaceful stay. Wash/dryer available if needed. We have stayed there a few times there while visiting the local college.

We tried Dragon Fly this trip vs. a Name Hotel. The rooms have been updated, clean and the beds offered a great sleep. I would recommend that they continue updating the rest of the property. The lobby entrance had a rigged up ramp out of plywood, that bent and rocked as you entered. The lobby itself was very dated, but the staff was very good as was the coffee. They had a sign out front welcoming truckers, but a third if the sign was missing and flapping in the wind. The rooms were a 4 but the rest of the property was a 2, which averaged to my 3 rating.

This was our second time staying at the Dragonfly Inn. The first time they had just opened and were still in the renovation process. We stayed in the side with odd numbered rooms and the room was clean, and well maintained. This time we stayed on the side with even numbered rooms. Our room was well decorated and clean, however the smell of disinfectant in the room was overpowering. The stoop to the door was loose and the trim around the door was broken, creating quite a gap and allowing enough light in that we used our cooler to block it. If it had not been raining I wonder if bugs would have been able to get in through that gap. Other than that everything else was fine. Beds were comfy (although a bit to tall for this old lady :). The bathroom was clean and modern. The towels were thick and the bathrobes a nice touch. Other than coffee we didn't partake in breakfast, but what we saw was a good variety of food choices. The price per nite is the best for the area. It is a nice place to stay for a night when traveling.

The room (king-size bed) was very clean, updated, and had personalized touches. It had plenty of bath amenities (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper and boxes of facial tissues). Fridge was clean and room had plenty of lighting. Loved the touch screen mirror in the bathroom.

I have never checked out early from a hotel, ever. I let our other paid two nights go from this one and booked at another hotel. Lets start with the good...the staff! Very friendly and helpful. The rooms are freshly remodeled and it is obvious that a lot of care went into it. However, the mold and mildew smell in hallway and in our room was overpowering. It was strong enough that our suitcases smelled like mildew from just the one night. We finally figured out it that most of the mildew smell was coming from the bathroom and closed the door. It helped some but sure wasn't great. On top of the health concern, we did have a safety concern pulling in. There appears to be a large number of long term guests staying on the first floor. Many of them just stared at us while we looked for a parking spot. As a woman traveling alone with children, being stared at by random men sitting alone in the parking lot while we drove into the lot and tried to unload our bags was very uncomfortable. We ended up parking in a dirt lot near the hotel as many parking spots were occupied with bbqs from said guests. I did receive a call from management asking why our suitcases were not in our room. When I told them why we left, they just said okay. No offer to make it right, move rooms or refund the unused nights. Just wanted to know of we had checked out so they could rent the room. Lesson learned with this one. Sigh.

Cute idea with all the dragon flies. Looked a Little slapped together. They say they are remodeling. They need to keep after it. Slept great! Gap in front door and needed painted. Odd lighting choices. Friendly staff. Good price! Lots of breakfast choices!

This place is so cute!! The room was spacious, well decorated, and comfortable bed. The extra touches like bathrobes, two sinks, huge TV, couch, and shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the shower are so nice!!! The shower was AMAZING!! We will definitely stay here again!!

Our overnight stay was very comfortable. The bed was perfect for my back, firm but soft top. The room decor was retro, looking like it was from the 1960s or 70s. My wife asked about it and was told it had come from a Las Vegas hotel many years ago. It was in great shape and we liked the look. There is a Chili’s Restaurant right across the parking lot, a very short well lit walk. There is also a gas station right there too.

This is a cute little motel recently renovated. I would stay there again but it can be noisy as the motel doors face the parking lot and you can hear vehicles playing loud music (which someone did at 4:00 am in the morning.) I had a problem with the plumbing but they sent someone to repair it within 30 minutes. Very friendly staff. Room had a microwave and a fridge. I appreciated the desk and desk chair for working along with the sofa.

The room was very unique with all the dragonfly themed decor, it was clean and beds were comfortable but the bathroom was extremely small and the tub creaked the entire time anyone was showering, breakfast was your average hotel breakfast but all in all id say 4/5

Beds very comfortable but high off the ground. No expense spared in all the lighting. Breakfast was slim, waffles and pancakes. Only two tables too sit to at. It was clean with lots of free accessories.

Very friendly staff, willing to work with you. The outside of the building leaves a bit to be desired but the room is super cute and totally comfortable. The only complaint I had is the inability to stream on the gigantic tv.

Nicely renovated and clean older hotel. Love the branding throughout. Very tasteful design and amenities. Bed was comfortable and my only complaint was it slid on the floor any time I tried to sit on the edge. Fairly quiet and convenient location.

This is a gem of a find! My friend and I spent a night here on our way to Grand Isle to witness the sandhill crane migration. Location was very convenient. I'll admit when we first pulled up, we questioned our choice but our doubts were quickly alleviated by the friendly and welcoming staff, Brooklyn and Jody. If you're lucky you'll also get to meet Baby Boy, the owner's Cane Corso dog. Our room was absolutely adorable!!! From the towel origami dragonfly, plush bathrobes and large TV to the ceramic coffee mugs and retro-style microwave and refrigerator, the owners have considered every detail of the room. Rooms are meticulously clean (even the toilets had flowery cleaning appliques) and the bed was extremely comfortable! Lobby is small but welcoming with some arcade and casino games if that's your desire. A complimentary continental breakfast is available including waffle maker or touchless pancake maker. It is perfect if you don't need eggs and bacon to start your day. Coffee was good (we bought our ceramic mugs from the room to make it better since only paper cups were available). We didn't get to use it but there is a walking/running trail behind the hotel. Life is short so I don't often visit the same place twice on vacation but I will be looking for a reason to pass through Hastings again just to spend another night here!!!

I have never checked out early from a hotel, ever. I let our other paid two nights go from this one and booked at another hotel. Lets start with the good...the staff! Very friendly and helpful. The rooms are freshly remodeled and it is obvious that a lot of care went into it. However, the mold and mildew smell in hallway and in our room was overpowering. It was strong enough that our suitcases smelled like mildew from just the one night. We finally figured out it that most of the mildew smell was coming from the bathroom and closed the door. It helped some but sure wasn't great. On top of the health concern, we did have a safety concern pulling in. There appears to be a large number of long term guests staying on the first floor. Many of them just stared at us while we looked for a parking spot. As a woman traveling alone with children, being stared at by random men sitting alone in the parking lot while we drove into the lot and tried to unload our bags was very uncomfortable. We ended up parking in a dirt lot near the hotel as many parking spots were occupied with bbqs from said guests. I did receive a call from management asking why our suitcases were not in our room. When I told them why we left, they just said okay. No offer to make it right, move rooms or refund the unused nights. Just wanted to know of we had checked out so they could rent the room. Lesson learned with this one. Sigh.

Our overnight stay was very comfortable. The bed was perfect for my back, firm but soft top. The room decor was retro, looking like it was from the 1960s or 70s. My wife asked about it and was told it had come from a Las Vegas hotel many years ago. It was in great shape and we liked the look. There is a Chili’s Restaurant right across the parking lot, a very short well lit walk. There is also a gas station right there too.

This is an eccentric little motel in Hastings. It appears to be a fairly old facility with a brand new remodel. The motel and the rooms are clean and well decorated. I did not take advantage of the breakfast. It is convenient to restaurants in the area and is priced competitively for the area. I would stay here again.

This is an adorable hotel. The rooms are decorated uniquely and the bed was very comfy. The front desk person was so kind and pleasant and helpful! Hastings, NE is off the beaten path, but I would definitely recommend The Dragonfly Inn if you need a stopover there.

I was traveling on I 80 with my elderly mother. I looked for hotels in Kearney, and most were over $200 night. I found Dragonfly Inn and Suites for half the price. SO WORTH the 15 minute drive south to this little gem. Recently renovated with so many nice upgrades. Staff was so friendly, beds were extremely comfortable, loved the bright and cheery decor. I will definitely make this a go-to stay when travelling I-80!

Don't let the outside fool you! The rooms are clean and nice! Newly renovated, and well worth what we paid ($129 each room). Staff were friendly. Breakfast isn't much, but if you just want something simple, then it was great.

A great little hotel to stay in! We were in town for the weekend and decided to stay somewhere different. The entire hotel is Dragonfly themed, which is fun. The lobby and our room were well decorated, clean, and looked modern and updated. They are doing renovations right now, but it looks like they're putting a lot of great work into the hotel! The breakfast was good and had a nice variety of things. If we are ever in town, I would definitely stay here again!

I think this hotel really tries, but is lacking in a few areas. Customer service was great and the ladies were friendly and hard working. The room was ok. It’s remodeled in a unique way, but my pillows were hard and felt old. The bed also had some weak spots in it. I would recommend adding lotion to the rooms. I usually expect lotion, so I don’t bring my own. They did have soap, coffee and tea, and a hairdryer. There was also 1 robe in the room. I would have expected two for each my husband and I, but there was only one. The breakfast was also disappointing. For a hot breakfast, only toast, bagels, pancakes, and a microwave for oatmeal was available. We opted for bagels with cream cheese, but would have preferred better protein options. For or our second breakfast we ended up skipping and going to the Perkins down the street.

I will preface by saying that overall, it is obvious that hard work is being done. So, patience and grace were needed here as they were undergoing renovations while we stayed. The room we stayed in was very clean, and very comfortable. All measures were taken to even help those with allergies: vinyl plank floors, mattress cover, etc. That was wonderful. The outside and also the hallway leading up to the room tells a different story, and can be misleading, as they both look very run down. I look forward to seeing the finished product after all the renovations are complete.

My first reaction was *oh my, this place has 9.4 stars on Hotels.com? It looked unsafe and sketchy on the outside. Rooms were clean and nicely renovated, but just an odd duck of a place. I really didnt feel safe as a solo female traveling for work, as someone mistook my room for theirs at 2am. Drive a bit further to Grand Island. Maybe in a few years the place will look better.
