Great value, and nice combination of retro and modern. The bed and pillows were amazing, and I loved the Roku. Totally seamless experience - super easy. A great location with a breeze in the very hot summer. The only thing I’d change or suggest is to maintain the pool area a bit better. Some cushions were torn, and the perimeter of the pool looked a little old and tired.

This property is a self check-in (no front desk) with keypads on all doors. You can also use your phone for faster entrance which is convenient. Not sure why we paid for parking when there is a good size parking lot behind the hotel. We were an hour early and can see our bedroom was ready but could not check in. However, there is also a luggage closet that is available if you need it. The most annoying thing was being able to hear the people upstairs just walking around and sounding like they were moving things. It sounds like stomping which I’m sure they weren’t but that’s what we initially thought. Other than that, everything else was nice in our room. We have a good size mini fridge, microwave, & sink (but smells from the drain). The pool and jacuzzi area was clean and the esthetics were nice for photos.

At first, I wasn’t sure, but once I got home, I realized everything had absorbed that faint smoke odor. However, all in all, the stay was good. Lovely property with tasteful upgrades. We stayed in a 1bdrm King Suite and it was spacious, clean. Mini frig but no microwave, which was really the only amenity we would have liked. Pool was open, clean, and beautiful. The hot tub was warm and roomy. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We would have liked the pool bar and restaurant to be open more hours. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

The Cole by Sonder charges for literally everything (the parking isn’t free despite what might be advertised here). Parking $15 a day for an open, unsecured lot. Early check-in? $20-$30 dollars depending on if you wanted to check in one or two hours early. When we got to our room, it was dirty (used wash cloth under the sink in the bathroom, dusty) and smelled bad (like sewage). But there’s no one around anywhere. The public area wasn’t cleaned until our third day, the restaurant/bar was never open, and the outdoor furniture is ripped/torn/incredibly torn. The rooms are not sound proof. We never had anyone come clean the room. It’s an old school AC unit. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Chantelle was awesome! Great customer service, everything is done through text/website communication which is convenient. Parking was easy. I traveled during off season , in September therefore the hotel wasn’t as busy, which I prefer. My only complaint was that items were left in the refrigerator and also in the trash can, other than that awesome stay!!

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was. With a last minute trip i didn't expect much from one of the lowest prices I found but this hotel was awesome. Amazingly comfortable bed, clean bedding, and clean room. The pool looked like it needed a little cleaning but was still usable and there were some ants in the bathroom but not surprising with how hot it was outside. Enjoy the stay, definitely would stay again.

Sonder properties are low-touch, that’s fine, just expect that. The floor in my bathroom was so filthy I dropped some water on it and used a towel and it came off filthy. Good amenities in the room.

I was traveling for business. Upon entering the room there was a very strong bleach smell. I left and returned hours later and it remained. I advised the off site manager by text that I was leaving and could not stay the night. I had booked two rooms. Both my colleague and i left the premises without spending the night.

Everything about my stay was good, but if you’re staying on the first floor you better hope your upstairs neighbor walks and talks very quietly. Very thin walls and ceiling. And especially in my case because I had to wake up early, the spring breakers partying above me were very noisy, so I didn’t get much sleep.

Draperies on two of the three windows were damaged and wouldn't close. Appeared there might have been a water issue in the "living room" area, carpet was damp. When the property was privately owned parking was free. There is now a charge for parking in a lot that is completely unsecure. Don't recommend!

The physical room was kinda cool with a modernist vibe but the keyless doors were annoying as it almost always took more than one attempt to key in the code. Figuring out how to get into the hotel upon arrival is a challenge. I’ll try not to spoil the adventure for you but you’ll see the Cole sign and then just a restaraunt with no apparent access to the facility. The parking area is in the rear of the hotel but you can’t access the place from there either unless you have your door code. Theres only one parking space in the front which is not obvious when you drive by trying to figure out where the the front door is located. Prior to arrival, you’ll receive a barrage of emails and texts which will attempt to get you to fill out a lengthy electronic check-in, including a scan of your ID and info about all people staying in the room… if it works. If you can’t or choose not to complete it, you will need to find the guy onsite… who isn’t there after hours. Oh, and the floors are thin. If you’re on the ground floor, be aware you will get to hear every noise from upstairs. The hotel knows this because there is a white noise machine in the room along with ear plugs. All in all, if was not a very comfortable stay and the fact that we had to endure the all night noise from upstairs made it downright unpleasant at times. Would I stay there again? Unlikely.

Stayed 2 nights, property was nice… some places need a little bit of a touch up. But no complaints. Loved the two TV set up they had. Walls are a bit thin, but they do offer ear plugs and a white noise machine. Would definitely come back!!! And the BED was a 10/10

This place has a great MCM vibe but that’s about it. Located at the very start of the PS main drag its too far to walk to any bars, shops, restaurants. Our room was in desperate need of paint and the bedding was a sheet set and thin duvet which left us needing to run the noisy wall heater all night, constantly interrupting our sleep. No guest services on site before/after 8pm which is a bummer. I usually love a boutique hotel but this one not so much. I’d say for the price you can choose a better location with better amenities.

Property lacks onsite staff so check in is online only. Not quick or easy or convenient. Spent more than an hour outside in the sun sorttng out the check in with customer service. Every aspect of stay is done via app, and app wasn’t cooperating. And this saves the hotel how much by not having a front desk? Don’t recommend this..

I found the hotel listing and confirmed a reservation roughly an hour before check-in time which was at 4:00 pm. We arrived at 4:15pm and found a kind woman who informed us that we didn't have a reservation because it wasn't in the system. After locating our reservation in a different system, she sent the check in process to my phone via text, where I was prompted to use what was effectively a self check-in system. The hotel was beautiful and has a great view of the mountains right outside and it’s a 5 minute drive to the tramway and 8 minutes from an ATV rental. My only problem with the hotel was my room in particular had a dirty blanket and when I requested a new one it took a whole day to get it because no one was available to bring one supposedly but the hotel wasn’t even packed. My whole stay I only seen 2 other people and it was very quiet.

Check in was extremely difficult because of faulty door , and I’ll equipped support staff at that time. They basically said I would not have another issue if I did not leave my room. I could not enter room or even the compound itself the next day.

Stayed for a business trip to Palm Springs. It's a cute motel conversion, with clean, spacious rooms, comfy beds, and a great shower. Unfortunately, the experience of staying was let down by the hotel's system for managing guests on site and the check-in/out process. There is no one at reception between 8 PM and 8 AM, which is pretty ridiculous, and if you are like me and trying to check in or out in this window, you have to do everything online. That wouldn't be a problem, but I had booked several rooms for colleagues, so I ended up having to call the hotel to get everyone sent check-in links, then had to do the online check-in and while it only took 10-15 minutes to deal with, I was in Palm Springs on a really challenging work project, and taking that time out of my day just added to my stress. Since I had to leave the hotel before 8 AM, I needed to do online checkout, and the link they sent didn't work, so I had to text with the hotel about it, again taking time out of my busy day. I also asked for a receipt, which never came. Hotel charges $15 for parking, which is essentially a cramped, exposed space along the street-- pretty insulting to have to pay for that on top of the room charge, as my car may as well have been parked on the street. We understand we stayed during the shoulder season, but we were surprised to find no ice available in the ice machine; and never could find staff at the bar to assist. That said, the staff communicated well via text, which we appreciated. The room was clean, but there was a faint smell of cigarette smoke. At first, I wasn’t sure, but once I got home, I realized everything had absorbed that faint smoke odor. However, all in all, the stay was good. The price point was great, the room was clean and spacious, the pool was lovely, and the TV system was nice. We had everything we needed, and the staff was responsive via text. **A few suggestions for improvement:** * Address the lingering smoke smell in Room 207 * Staff the bar, especially for basic needs like ice * Improve the water pressure and/or shower head

The bed was medium firm, which I appreciated though if you like a fluffy mattress, this wasn't it. Overall, it's clear owners care for this property and everything was clean and functional. I didn't get to use the pool, but it looked good and I saw a pool cleaner in the morning when I was checking out. For those unfamiliar with Palm Springs, this property is far from downtown so not walkable to shops and such. Had a great trip! I spent five nights here for a conference and an opportunity to get back to California and see old friends. For the able-bodied, it's an easy enough walk to downtown, and for all it would be a quick ride. Taunted me with a view of one of my longtime favorite climbing spots atop the mountains. I didn't realize when I booked it, but I THINK it's now a Sonder property (apologies if I'm mistaken), and I've stayed with Sonder several times over the past year and I've been very happy. So long as you're fine being left alone and don't need room service and housekeeping each day (I don't), I think it's perfect. Not sure if it was a blip, but the pool/hot tub seemed to need upkeep when I first arrived, but upkeep happened and I very much enjoyed the hot tub, especially before heading to the airport on my final morning. My only slight complaint about my room is that, provided the curtains are open, it gets great natural light during the day but otherwise could do with additional interior lighting.

Check in was smooth and our stay was pleasant. The pool area was clean and an added plus that they had a jacuzzi. The hotel is walking distance to a few nice restaurants but not quite walkable to downtown. Overall a nice stay.

Looking forward to staying there again. North end is quiet and easy access to the rest of town. Wish there were better coffee within walking distance or a better coffee maker in the unit. With time I hope the A/C unit will be upgraded to a quieter one. I used the white noise machine provided which is a nice touch.Otherwise comfortable stay.

This is a great PS option on the North end of town. Only a 10 min drive a South to all the galleries and shopping in the core areas. It was fairly empty while I was there so I can’t comment on room noise and I stayed on the second level so no one was above me. It is a classic roadside “motel” vibe with a modern overhaul. I’d definitely choose the Cole again.

No big issues with my stay and I could see myself booking this property again. It's located off the main drag a bit so the neighborhood and general building were quiet when I was there. However the walls were a little thin and I could hear my neighbor talking and later snoring. I also wished the ac ran a little colder, it felt warmer than what I had it set to and kept switching off though I don't think it hit that temp. The facilities were very nice and clean though and the pool looked nice and the woman who checked me in was also very nice. It was overall a good deal especially if you're just staying a night. Also if you're not familiar with the area, it's close to the main strip of restaurants but Palm Springs generally isn't a big walking town especially after dark since they don't use street lights. I walked to my dinner destination but was in some pretty dark quiet areas at times though I know the area is safe so I wasn't worried.

Our safe did not work the entire time and wasn’t given a diagnosis until 3 pm the next day. Could not be repaired. That style of motel and location requires a safe! No breakfast : coffee restaurant options on site. Cocktail bar never open.. I would choose second floor and first floor suite can hear walking upstairs very easily. Nice renoed rooms.. very clean pools and hot tub. No one at the pool but us so if you want a fun vibe this is not the place. Peaceful tho! Beds comfy. Coffee pods too weak. Not sure I like the lack of a front desk.

A property just outside the busy downtown. The king suite room was very spacious, with a king sofa bed-not used by us- and two TVs. The pool area is gorgeous as is the hot tub. While they don’t have a front desk, the whole process was smooth. We were disappointed the French restaurant and the bar opened at 5pm. Earlier would have been nice. Overall we highly recommend the Cole!

Lovely property with tasteful upgrades. We stayed in a 1bdrm King Suite and it was spacious, clean. Mini frig but no microwave, which was really the only amenity we would have liked. Pool was open, clean, and beautiful. The hot tub was warm and roomy. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We would have liked the pool bar and restaurant to be open more hours. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

This hotel was recently purchased by an out of town company. The property seems neglected and understaffed. If you want somewhere super low key to rest your head and you aren’t looking for any services or amenities, this will do. But it completely lacks any kind of vacation vibes. Pool walls need to be scrubbed, dead bees on the deck, half dead plants are too sparse. Cute outdoor bar area has potential but it’s never open. The Cole by Sonder charges for literally everything (the parking isn’t free despite what might be advertised here). Parking $15 a day for an open, unsecured lot. Early check-in? $20-$30 dollars depending on if you wanted to check in one or two hours early. When we got to our room, it was dirty (used wash cloth under the sink in the bathroom, dusty) and smelled bad (like sewage). But there’s no one around anywhere. The public area wasn’t cleaned until our third day, the restaurant/bar was never open, and the outdoor furniture is ripped/torn/incredibly torn. The rooms are not sound proof. We never had anyone come clean the room. It’s an old school AC unit. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Clean room; I like that you could get your own shampoo and conditioner and towels if you wanted to from a special locker on the first floor. The kitchen staff were extremely friendly, including Frankie, whose name is on the restaurant. 10 out of 10.
Clean room; I like that you could get your own shampoo and conditioner and towels if you wanted to from a special locker on the first floor. The kitchen staff were extremely friendly, including Frankie, whose name is on the restaurant. 10 out of 10.

The Cole is my go-to hotel to stay at when I visit Palm Springs. Truly the nicest staff and cleanest most hospitable environment. Definitely stay here!
