Said it had a pool. It does but it’s under construction and looks like it’s going to be that way for some time. Very misleading. Tried to get a refund because we wanted a place with a pool.

Area of town a little iffy. No staff on site at night, you call a number and they give you codes to get in building and your room. Decor is spartan. The place was clean! The bed was firm and clean. Pool an hot tub were closed! OK for a place to sleep.

No-frills hotel. It seems to be recently updated. The room matched the photos with laminate "wood" floors, updated furniture, fridge, microwave, and TV. We had two rooms - a king and two queens. We were looking for a place to sleep for the night after a long day and didn't need anything fancy. For the price, we were quite satisfied. The pool was out of service but being worked on, though we had no plans to use it. The breakfast was consummate for the price and the coffee was above average for a hotel. Cameras were everywhere in the common spaces as there was no full-time on-site staff. If you arrive after hours (10 pm on the day we arrived) you need to check in via phone and they will text you codes for the front door and your room. The person we spoke with on the phone to check in was friendly. It was a pretty easy process, but if you want 24/7 staff, this isn't your place. I do all my ratings based on price as I have different expectations based on what I pay. It would have been 1/10 if I had paid $1200 a night (which I have), but at $69/night, it's a solid 8/10.

This feels like a "rent by the week" kind of place. There's definitely a few folks living here. I know you get what you pay for. I'm paying for it. Can hear televisions on both adjacent sides. Can hear neighbor's conversations. Reviews were decent so i gambled. Oops. Says check-in is until 9PM. Arrived at 7PM. No one at desk so I ring Ring bell. No one comes. Ring again. Wait. No signs of life. After three rings, call phone number posted at desk. Call number and a woman answers and says someone will be down. No one comes. Ring bell again, wait another 5 min. Call number again. She says she'll be right down. 5 minutes later she arrives. Took her another 7-10 minutes to check me in. Place reeks like stale cigarettes and grandma-scented oil sticks dipped in grandpa's linament oil. "Residents" who pay by the week must write these reviews because place is close to horrific. Hair in tub. Dirty bathroom floor. No room keys. Keypad lock and I wonder if they even change the code? Have a tripod and chair blocking door. Oh year, the pool is closed, tagged and deemed unsafe by order of the health dept. No carts, no elevator. No screen or lock in window. Floors dirty. Bedcover is dirty. Curtains are filthy. TV remote probably never washed, buttons caked with grease and crumbs. I FEEL ITCHY.

This is going to be a strange review... It appears this hotel is under new management and a concerted effort to update is underway. On the downside, the pool is disassembled, the outer shell is worn and faded, the sign is almost unreadable. On the inside, there are new vinyl floors, new paint, new locks, new artwork. The beds are lower end but in good shape. Window AC with only controls on the unit. Breakfast is pre-prepared since there doesn't seem to be a kitchen unit-lots of sweetened cereal, pastries, nice fruit, terrible coffee and no protein. Staff were very sweet, although I didn't see much of them over the two days-there isn't someone at the front desk most of the time. The area is struggling: lots of older houses, new huge apartment blocks, a Goth music venue, two "massage parlours" and an X-rated bookstore. No restaurant in easy walking distance. No grocery store. Rapid transit is good, though, the bus that goes downtown to East Town mall is right outside the door with a weather protected stop. So, if you just need a place to sleep and you've got your transportation, entertainment and dining under control? Nice place at a great price. If you want a hotel to do more than just give you a place to sleep, look elsewhere.

Property outside was strange. No pool

Unlike: Outside of property needs gardening, painting and other things to look attractive. Receptionist working hours only from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. I was leaving to airport at 5:30 AM and had to tell about the checkout the day before. Like: Inside of property was recently renovated (swimming pool in process) and everything looks good. The rooms, kitchen and common areas were quiet and clean. Spacious rooms. The receptionist and employees were attentive and helpful. About 8 minutes to MSN airport. Would stay again.

Place under construction

It was a cheap stay. Area was so-so at best. It does look like they are remodeling/updating the place, so I'll give them that, but there's half done projects throughout the area of the hotel that I went through.

Clean and quiet

The bathroom wasn't clean. There was hair on the floor and in the tub. The bathroom smelled like cigarettes. The sheets had stains on them and there was no matteess protector.

Very clean with spacious rooms and bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Bed was not clean as much as last time. There was some juice and dirty stuff on they bed. Also there was some hair in shower aswell.

Overall standard was OK for the price. Cobwebs (on the light holder and around the blind in the room I stay in (#205)

The staff were really welcoming and accommodating, even though I arrived late and had special needs, which was great! The common areas were really pretty, clean, and nicely updated. Breakfast was simple but good. My bed was comfy and there was great water pressure! The linens were scentless or close to it so I didn't get a rash from the detergent--hard to come by at this price range, and that made me happy. However, the room smelled like old cigarettes and the bathroom was scary in its moldiness--the ceiling was full of it to the extent the ceiling was flaking off in places due to damage. There was a burning smell when I ran the bathroom fan. I'm not sure if it was just because I came late and got one of the last two rooms of the night, but I would have appreciated my room being renovated more before being considered fit for guests. My room did not uplift my spirits. I've stayed at a lot of motels and if all the rooms at this property are like mine, then I can't recommend this property to friends or family, at least until the rooms are updated to match the quality of the common areas. (Even though I would have liked to, for the good parts of the property and its staff.)

The room was not very clean.

It was cheap and convenient. The problem was the bathroom had dirt in the corners and in the vent. There were about a dozen tiny flies near the sink. They were easy to squash, but they were annoying,

A great value overall if you choose to ignore: Wait for staff on call to check-in, some items in room not working (bathroom lock), no sound proof windows means you hear the traffic at night, especially the motor bikes loud and clear, slow renovation inside (assume goes on for multiple months/years).

Property didn't look like much from the outside, old and dated but the halls and rooms were nice, plenty of room and clean

I crashed here for a night because I drove to Madison for a concert. And I got what I paid for, so I wasn't upset. The woman working the front desk was very nice and checked me in quickly. The room was...well, like I said, what I paid for. There was literally one light in the room outside of the desk lamp, and it was this garish spotlight. The bathroom smelled like death itself when I opened the door, but thankfully it went away when I turned the fan. But I reserved a single room, and as it turned out, it was a comfy king-size bed with five pillows. Lodgings like this know that all you really want is a place to sleep, so they focus on making the bed something you can fall asleep on. They had a microwave and a mini-fridge too. And their ice machine worked. One note of caution: the door does not lock automatically. You enter your room using a code the desk gives you on a secure door keypad. I thought I had to use that every time I entered my room, but I was wrong. if you don't hit the padlock button by your door before you leave, your door remains unlocked. Not good if you are going out for the evening. I'm glad I figured that out!

From the outside, the building is very plain and unassuming and the neighborhood was a little rough. But inside, it’s nicely updated and cute and modern. The bed frame was creaky but the room decor and furnishings were new and clean, the wall unit A/C kept the room nice and frosty, and the mini fridge had a freezer that actually worked! The pool area was under construction but we weren’t there to use the pool. We didn’t eat any continental breakfast but the breakfast room was very cute and clean and looked like it had a nice selection. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will definitely book again.

We just needed the room for a night's sleep so considering that it met our requirements. The hotel is quite dated and not as clean. The a/c units filter change button was on and when we changed the temperature on it, it started giving off a horrible burnt smell. The bed was comfortable but not the cleanist. Windows were cracked and seemed like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I wouldn't stay here again.

Decent hotel for the price. Some areas of the building appeared a bit tired, but overall it seemed reasonably clean. The room was comfortable but could have used more bedside lighting. There was one light on the ceiling over the bed and it was REALLY bright, so we didn’t use it. The only other light was a cheap little LED desk lamp (with a USB charging port), on one of the side tables. The other side of the bed had a small side table, but no lamp or outlet. It was a good thing we brought a 10ft charging cable. We were there on a Thursday night and the hotel was quiet. We stayed here because our preferred place was booked. If the location was more walkable, we might stay here more often, but there were no restaurants, stores, or anything of interest to walk to.

Ahead of our stay we were given a code to get in the front door and for our room. We arrived around 5:30p.m. on a Sunday and left around 8:45 a.m. Monday morning. It was earie because there was absolutely no one around at all. It felt like we were there by ourselves The room was very basic which was fine.

During check in, the clerk didn’t give the correct door password so had to come back to get another one. She did this to the guest who checked in before me as well. Also, after checking in, I went to look around Madison and get some dinner. After I had dinner, I came back and there were no parking in the front so parked in the back. It was raining and there is no entrance except for the front entrance. Had to walk around the building and getting wet from the rain with hands full of things. Then, when I tried to get into the room, the door was locked. Someone was in my room! I was knocking and a man opened the door. Front desk closes at 9p and he was arriving after that time. So he said he received a message with the same room number and code. We spent half an hour trying to get ahold of someone to figure this out. Finally someone responded and he got another room. I wanted to say something but I didn’t get the number he had and it was almost midnight and I was tired asf. Just wanted to call it a day. Will say something in the morning when checking out.

I got locked out of the building w a code malfunction & then out of my room. Remote staff did solve it but sitting outside in concrete & huddling back & forth to reset codes was a very unpleasant for a 79 year old!

Decent place to stay. The rooms have exterior residential type automatic locks with a code instead of key cards. If you get there later at night, the desk closes at at 9pm and you have to talk to someone offsite on a ring camera. I didn't care for that. The rooms were decent.

Check in was so convenient and awesome

I didn’t stay! The room was reserved for the wrong day and when I called to change it, I was given somewhere else to call, then some where else again to call and finally told to call my initial place! That person told me it could be done but the new room rate would cost 3times more than I was informed! Nope! Never again!

Friendly staff

Room was clean, checking in was easy. Staff was really nice.

This is an older place seemingly in the midst of renovation. Pretty basic but bed was comfortable and shower was good. Just a mile or two south of I-90/94 so convenient to Chicago and Milwaukee, and only 15-20 min to the state capitol area. If you will be in the room a lot spend more to get cushier surroundings, but for a good basic stay this is the place!

This was an overnight stay after a late arrival at airport. It is close to the airport. Due to my late arrival I was able to use codes provided to me when I called the reception earlier that day which worked well. The room was a good size, clean, this is an older facility which they have upgraded to make aesthetically more modern which was nice. The street outside was a little noisy. The continental breakfast had a number of options - simple but filling. Overall a good stay.

It was an excellent price for the area near the airport. I felt safe in the hotel, but declined to walk around the area, which is a bit sketchy.

It seems like the hotel is just about to be torn down. Lots of construction projects across the street. The bus line to downtown Madison goes right past.

While the outside of the property appears to be a little rough around the edges, the inside of the facility is well maintained. Iv read previous complaints about how loud the air conditioning is but I would say its about as loud as a box fan, so those claims seem greately exaggerated. The morning breakfast is nothing fancy and consists of cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit and pre-packaged breakfast pastries. The staff at this hotel have been very friendly during my 5 day stay. If I return to Madison I would likely stay at this hotel again. The highlight for me is there is a metro bus station across the street, which makes traversing the city very convenient and inexpensive (as many parking garages in madison charge upwards of 20-30$).

Easy to get to from the main highway, and on the to and from the capital and university.

If you're looking for frills, this is not the place for you. However, if you're looking for a clean, safe, and close to downtown, this is perfect.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The inside was generally clean and tidy. What lets this property down is its outside and location. The outside was poorly maintained with weeds growing out of the parking lot pavement, potholes and a generally dirty outside of the building. It was noisy during the night with altercations going on outside the property and shady characters nearby. You get what you pay for, I guess. Wouldn't stay there again. Having said that - the staff and the inside of the property were good.

Well kept, if basic. Tiled floors. Satisfactory motel breakfast.

I wish tell people that the breakfast in the morning is all self served. And at 7 AM you have to open the door yourself. I was sitting there waiting for 30 minutes, not knowing what to do. The bed was also very hard, not comfortable at all. But overall friendly staff.

Worked well for my purpose of sleeping there and not spending much time in room. Bus stop is just across the street. Continental breakfast is fair with lots of pre packaged food. Hallways are loud with the laminated flooring. For the price on a football game weekend, it was worthwhile.

Room was clean and I felt safe. The air conditioner was really loud and I had a hard time sleeping with the noise. The breakfast actually had a lot there, but no hot options. I would have liked eggs or sausage for protein vs the prepackaged pancakes and waffles, but it filled my belly until lunchtime

This place is a dump. The pool and hot tub should not be advertised right now, as they are in shambles. There is one lady working the desk and cleaning everything. It takes forever to get service and no one is at the desk until 2:39pm. I had to come back to get my deposit. They had two items for breakfast and no coffee. There is also a strong chemical odor. My room door didn’t lock consistantly and the front door is not secured either. This felt unsafe and I eas unable to get refunded after seeing the conditions. I would never stay here again
