Very nice, high points food, evening meal was lovely, had vegetarian breakfast, it was hot freshly cooked and very tasty. very comfortable, negative: would have liked a mirror in the bedroom, but was only in the bathroom. No soap in bathroom had to use the tube of body wash, no working bedside lamps, issues with the tv, but was resolved very quickly moving my room. Parkingcan be tricky .

A beautiful old Dartmoor Inn in a very pretty village location. Terrific range of local ales and ciders and great food. Lovely walk in shower, but needs a corner shelf for toiletries. Paintwork needs touching up in places, but, overall, a wonderful, comgortanle plce to stay.

Walk Hampton Inn is full of character and delightfully situated next to Dartmoor. The experience is brought to life by the extremely friendly staff who go the royal mile to ensure their guests are looked after. This was the first trip with our Springer Spaniel and she was made to feel as much at home as we were. Brilliant atmosphere at the bar in the evening.

The en suite had no fastening on the door had to be use wadge of paper to close it. no door handles on room door. Bed VERY low to floor. Not suitable for elderly or anyone with mobility problems as stairs very difficult. Bedroom 2 large but every thing very low to floor. staff friendly and food good.

The photos look lovely harsh reality is it’s nothing like the photos. Room 1. The bed was broken. There was an awful drain type smell. The en-suite was not fit for purpose. The tv did not work all these points were picked up in previous negative feedback. Hallway and stairs smelt and were filthy. The breakfast was ok. We booked for 3 nights and left after 1 and looking at feedback are not the first to do this. Only recommendation I can leave is for the Inn to get a cleaner.

I was looking forward to an overnight stay at The Walkhampton but I'm afraid it was disappointing. Our room was very small and I was terrified that I would fall through the floor at any moment as the whole floor was moving up and down by a couple of inches. It was difficult to use the toilet as the ensuite was tiny and badly designed. The carpets were really dirty and desperately needed a deep clean. The handrail going up the stairs was really, really dirty....sticky and grimy. Very unpleasant. We ate in the pub downstairs and the food was good and reasonably priced. Staff were helpful but our TV didn't work and even after a member of staff came to fix it, it still didn't work. My husband ended up sorting it out. Breakfast was poor and didn't resemble the description given. No potatoes and no pudding. Items given were of a good quality though. Juice and milk were very limited which was irritating. We waited a long time for tea and coffee and had to ask for toast. Breakfast is a big part of an overnight stay and it was disappointing. Overall I'd say this place needs better organisation and a more disciplined cleaning regime. I didn't expect 5 star luxury but when you take someone's money you have to provide a certain standard and this place unfortunately falls short.

The inn it self is amazing and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They are in a difficult place with renovating I think, but have to say the cobwebs or dust webs were very noticeable but the bed was superb and the carpet very good and clean. Just missing handle on the door to room so had to use key to try and pull shut and the bathroom door handle on the inside broken to quite a sharp point which I had found out at night using the toilet lol. The cleanness of the shower cubic was not great but the stone they use was beautiful as was the sink.As a professional cleaner it wouldn’t take long to just use a feather duster on the light fittings corners of walls but no dust on the furniture which I have paid a lot more for and they felled in that areas. Good selection of tea and coffee and was offer fresh milk and that was brill and bottled local water which also was a nice touch.For what I paid I was happy to stay the night

We had a over night stay in their largest room, the food we had was great, couldnt fault it. We weren't offered the option to have pudding, clearing our plates away took a long time, had to order our second drinks at the bar as noone came over to us. When our plates were finally cleared away, we were told theyd need the table back soon. The bedroom looked lovely, was quite dusty and some maintenance issues but looked ok. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Breakfast was really nice, when finished our breakfast we were asked how long we would be until we checked out, even though check out states 11am. But we left pretty much straight away, everything felt very rushed and not much like a relaxed night away. There was lots of random clutter in the corridors/stairs. Over all it was an ok stay, no major issues, would return again for food.

Bed rooms right above pub and dining area - could hear noises and constant bang sound, not ideal if you are trying to sleep. Beds are not the most comfortable either with creaking sound. Pity that breakfast aren’t served before 0800 for those leaving early and are not willling. Not the cleanest, foyer and landing areas.

Great place to stay if you’re needing good proximity to Plymouth and surrounding areas but want the peace and quiet that Dartmoor brings. Staff accommodated our late check-in due to road traffic accident which we were very grateful for. Included breakfast is delicious and chef is super friendly. Rooms are great - comfy beds and powerful shower. Only downside is that if other rooms have their tv’s on loudly, you can hear it straight through the walls which happened on a couple nights of our stay! Other than that lovely and peaceful.

Great little pub. Surprisingly spacious and modern rooms. Food and beverage selection was excellent and service very fiendly and welcoming. On the downside the pub entrance was having some excations hence had to go around the back to enter - no doubt this will be fixed in the future. Also the wifi was a bit patchy in the room at times - but otherwise a pleasnat stay despite the incessant rain

Loved this venue. People were lovely and food delicious. But we stayed in the smallest room which was a twin. I have never stayed in such a small room! No drawers or hanging space, was en suite but very claustrophobic. Will definitely go back but get a bigger room. ♥️ this is a proper pub, like they should be, beams on the ceilings and stone steps. Lovely garden area with lights. You will enjoy.

Warm, friendly welcome, lovely room, ensuite is gorgeous. Memory mattress is not for me, didn't sleep too well. Would definitely stay again, but may ask for a different room. Apart from that, it was great! :)

This is a 17th century pub so it has all the quirks of that. If you want the modern bathroom of a hotel then this isn't for you but if you want a night in a 17th-century pub then it's absolutely perfect! The staff are friendly, the food is good and the bed is comfortable. It was a perfect place to stop over.

The staff were so welcoming and lovely it made the stay so enjoyable. There was an issue with WiFi and the staff couldn't apologise enough. It did not matter to us as we could enjoy the stay without the phones/emails etc. The food was all home cooked and delicious. Will definitely visit again.

Staff accommodated our late check-in due to road traffic accident which we were very grateful for. Included breakfast is delicious and chef is super friendly. We had a over night stay in their largest room, the food we had was great, couldnt fault it. We weren't offered the option to have pudding, clearing our plates away took a long time, had to order our second drinks at the bar as noone came over to us. When our plates were finally cleared away, we were told theyd need the table back soon. The bedroom looked lovely, was quite dusty and some maintenance issues but looked ok. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Breakfast was really nice, when finished our breakfast we were asked how long we would be until we checked out, even though check out states 11am. But we left pretty much straight away, everything felt very rushed and not much like a relaxed night away. There was lots of random clutter in the corridors/stairs. Over all it was an ok stay, no major issues, would return again for food.

A beautiful old Dartmoor Inn in a very pretty village location. Terrific range of local ales and ciders and great food. Lovely walk in shower, but needs a corner shelf for toiletries. Paintwork needs touching up in places, but, overall, a wonderful, comgortanle plce to stay.

Walk Hampton Inn is full of character and delightfully situated next to Dartmoor. The experience is brought to life by the extremely friendly staff who go the royal mile to ensure their guests are looked after. This was the first trip with our Springer Spaniel and she was made to feel as much at home as we were. Brilliant atmosphere at the bar in the evening.

I was looking forward to an overnight stay at The Walkhampton but I'm afraid it was disappointing. Our room was very small and I was terrified that I would fall through the floor at any moment as the whole floor was moving up and down by a couple of inches. It was difficult to use the toilet as the ensuite was tiny and badly designed. The carpets were really dirty and desperately needed a deep clean. The handrail going up the stairs was really, really dirty....sticky and grimy. Very unpleasant. We ate in the pub downstairs and the food was good and reasonably priced. Staff were helpful but our TV didn't work and even after a member of staff came to fix it, it still didn't work. My husband ended up sorting it out. Breakfast was poor and didn't resemble the description given. No potatoes and no pudding. Items given were of a good quality though. Juice and milk were very limited which was irritating. We waited a long time for tea and coffee and had to ask for toast. Breakfast is a big part of an overnight stay and it was disappointing. Overall I'd say this place needs better organisation and a more disciplined cleaning regime. I didn't expect 5 star luxury but when you take someone's money you have to provide a certain standard and this place unfortunately falls short.

Bed rooms right above pub and dining area - could hear noises and constant bang sound, not ideal if you are trying to sleep. Beds are not the most comfortable either with creaking sound. Pity that breakfast aren’t served before 0800 for those leaving early and are not willling. Not the cleanest, foyer and landing areas.

Our stay at The Walkhampton Inn was pleasant. The room was spacious and tidy. Clean bedding and comfy bed. The bathroom door needs to have the door knob fixed so it closes properly and the bedroom window could benefit from a sheer netting / veil curtain just as there is a property opposite the bedroom window which you can see right into… which means they can see you too!! Helpful manual to explain the TV. Breakfast was good, would be nice to have a background noise of a radio as at times the silence was awkward. Other than that, really lovely stay and would stay again ☺️.

Terrible experience from start to finish Arrived at tiny car park which was full and had to park somewhere else which was 5 min walk to the place with all my luggage etc . No internet it had gone down and didn’t seem too bothered that I had paid £95 for this room . No Tv as it was run off the internet . No milk in room had to ask twice . No privacy in rooms unless you closed all blinds as opposite property could easily look in . Room not the cleanest and then the shower tray overflowed . Unable to provide me with VAT receipt , eventually did but Chef not happy as he has to do this whilst cooking. . Dirty Juice glasses all Cereal bxs and jams nicely laid out on the sticky pub bar .Also when ordering the room said I was travelling for business , room had no desk or anywhere to work Wouldn’t come back and will be requesting a refund .

I booked a room here in an effort to escape my overbearing, mostly live out landlord one weekend and I had an amazing stay. Staff were friendly, bar wasn't clique-y at all and the food and beer was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend.
