A cottage by the lake - Kayaks and Canoes are available for free. They have a restaurant, but didn't have the chance to experience. The lake has clear water. Everyone was enjoying their time in water in a hot summer day!

On a Saturday night when promised a camp fire ourselves and other guests were disappointed when staff failed to show up to start a fire. BBQ’s out of gas, falling apart, dirty and no working lighter. Staff had to try three bbq’s before finding a bbq that worked. Dock area needs fixing. Where you enter the lake a nail is sticking up that I stood on. I wasn’t injured but shouldn’t have to worry about nails. When we asked for a take out cup, one of the workers snapped at us “no” and walked away. I was told she is a manager?? Wow that’s not good.

Lovely place, stayed there in mid-December. The fire was going every night. It was nice to enjoy a coffee looking out onto the frozen lake.

The owner is extremely helpful and giving! Mike doesnt normally have the restaurant open in the winter but, with advance notice made us an excellent meal. The rooms are beautiful and we enjoyed using the lobby coffee and tea bar during our stay. Hope to stay here again.

Shopping close by in Bancroft, picked up a few groceries at Foodland for later, had a good lunch at La Fiesta Mexican restaurant, bought a few items at Old Tin Roof store, & Stedman's, pretty convenient I thought, no tourists around it seemed being October and all. Restaurant at Somerset was good, food good, had homemade lasagna, Bancroft Brewery beer, salad and desert was this great apple crumble in a sizzling iron skillet topped with ice cream and caramel, HUGE serving, that was an awesome desert ! Breakfast was buffet with a variety of items, quiche squares and tarts, were great.

This is a wonderful, comforting property that is set on a beautiful lake. Every time I stay here, I meet international travelers. Everyone is friendly and there is always a fire going down by the dock, and you can relax in the adirondack chairs and enjoy a drink. A great place to stargaze at night.

Nothing. The room and bed were dirt, we left after 2 hours, while on phone with Expedia. Picture of room on Expedia was completely different from our room. It was kind of row cabins with some small 3,4 insets crawling on wall. The picture on site shows a building. We, 2 adults one 6 years old kid,drove 4 and half hours to go there and had to leave after 2 hours and drive back home driving another 3 and half hours since it was long weekend and no other hotels were available. Very disappointed, very bad experience.

It is a beautiful resort, small, quiet and clean. The staff were wonderful - very friendly and helpful. The only suggestion I have to improve is that the beds probably need to be replaced.

The property definitely has a rustic feel and some aspects of the room felt a bit older or outdated, however, it is clear they put a lot of effort into cleaning the space! The only downside of the room was the beds weren't the comfiest. It was a great stay overall for the few nights I was there!

This past month there was a power outage that lasted several days and we just needed a night of heat, electricity and Internet. We accidentally clicked on this place when I thought we were making a reservation somewhere else and boy was that the best mistake I ever made. We had a late check-in, but everything went smoothly. The room was clean, warm and beautiful. It was nice to stay a place as fancy on the off-season.

Very friendly staff. Quaint cottage rooms where its quiet. and nice modern rooms in the main hotel; whatever you prefer. The restaurant had homemade meals and they are fantastic. There is a large firepit lit in the evenings by the dock with plenty of comfortable seating in Adirondack chairs. The cottage room bathroom had big cobwebs in the ceiling corners and the light, and a couple spiders. The sink was all cracked, and a chip in tub. Otherwise, it was very clean anc comfortable. Have stayed here twice and will be back again. Definitely recommend!

Shopping close by in Bancroft, picked up a few groceries at Foodland for later, had a good lunch at La Fiesta Mexican restaurant, bought a few items at Old Tin Roof store, & Stedman's, pretty convenient I thought, no tourists around it seemed being October and all. Restaurant at Somerset was good, food good, had homemade lasagna, Bancroft Brewery beer, salad and desert was this great apple crumble in a sizzling iron skillet topped with ice cream and caramel, HUGE serving, that was an awesome desert ! Breakfast was buffet with a variety of items, quiche squares and tarts, were great.

This is a wonderful, comforting property that is set on a beautiful lake. Every time I stay here, I meet international travelers. Everyone is friendly and there is always a fire going down by the dock, and you can relax in the adirondack chairs and enjoy a drink. A great place to stargaze at night.

A cottage by the lake - Kayaks and Canoes are available for free. They have a restaurant, but didn't have the chance to experience. The lake has clear water. Everyone was enjoying their time in water in a hot summer day!

The owner is extremely helpful and giving! Mike doesnt normally have the restaurant open in the winter but, with advance notice made us an excellent meal. The rooms are beautiful and we enjoyed using the lobby coffee and tea bar during our stay. Hope to stay here again.

So much potential with this place - The room & scenery were lovely! Unfortunately the info on line about the restaurant was misleading. When my heading for breakfast with my toddler son we were told the restaurant opening is dependant on occupancy - how would we know about that? Thankfully we had some left over take out that we grabbed on our way in, the night before. Also had a water pipe issue - 2hrs after not having running water, an open 2 litre jug of water was dropped off to our room.

Very friendly staff. Quaint cottage rooms where its quiet. and nice modern rooms in the main hotel; whatever you prefer. The restaurant had homemade meals and they are fantastic. There is a large firepit lit in the evenings by the dock with plenty of comfortable seating in Adirondack chairs. The cottage room bathroom had big cobwebs in the ceiling corners and the light, and a couple spiders. The sink was all cracked, and a chip in tub. Otherwise, it was very clean anc comfortable. Have stayed here twice and will be back again. Definitely recommend!

Very nice place – amazing lake with a dock you can jump from, as well as canoes, kayaks etc. you can take out on the lake. Dinner at restaurant was very good, too. Staff was supportive and helpful.

We stayed here somewhat unexpectedly, when a heat wave cut our camping trip short. What a gem of a spot! Not only did they accommodate us last minute, the cabin was clean and well thought out with all amenities we could need. The lake was beautiful and the dock was a great place to enjoy. We would like to return for a longer stay sometime as we didn't want to leave.

Just spend a few nights at this place. Nice welcome when in checking, property looks nice and Orval clean, unfortunately we didn’t see any service for the nights we are there, not ones they come and clean the room, garbage or changes the towels, in the end we had to ask for towels and take away the garbage and use are own garbage bags. Are room never got clean sweep or floors washed is to bad. For all the time we there we didn’t see any staff working. No
