Location is the best, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Parking very limited, not clear where to park if you come back late. Room outdated.

We stayed in Two Kings and a Kitchen (#10) which is on the upper level. There was a great balcony and very private. There was one fairy soft bed and a wonderful medium firm memory foam bed with super soft sheets. The bathroom is small but sufficient for a short stay. Just make sure you like the person or people you are stay with because there isn’t a lot of privacy. My one complaint is that there were not tissues and they left us only two creamers when we booked a 2 night stay. There was enough coffee and a keurig however. The room has a wall unit air conditioner that did a fair job of keeping the room cool. It was pretty warm when we arrived but the night was cool so it helped cool the room down but I would have worried had it been hotter. The hotel itself is in the center of uptown and just a walk across the street to shopping and dining and with a parking spot, there really isn’t a better location. It’s close to all the Sedona shuttles to trails. We truly had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again. The communication was excellent. It’s a cute and quirky hotel/motel and fits right in with the vibe of Sedona.

The property is small and quaint. It's not fancy, no pool, but rooms are clean and it is right off of the main shopping strip in Sedona, so a great place to step out the door and walk the shopping district.

It was everything we needed with lower price point but it’s an adorable property . The beds were so comfortable ! No compromising there. We were very central and walked from hotel to eat etc. large TV, coffee was excellent, and it had fridge and microwave. Staff was kind and accommodating and accessible by text. I just loved it … I would go back. One car per person but adjacent parking at the side of building. I loved we could pop the window and feel completely safe.

Easy check in with code for the door. Very close to shops and restaurants. We stayed in the family sweet. Its a very spacious 2 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and living room and large back patio area. Theres tvs in each room with many streaming apps and games. This was perfect for our family. Well definitely try to book this suite again.

The room was clean and cute but small. It was walking distance to a lot of restaurants and the small parking lot didn’t bother me. I read some people didn’t like that. It says there is housekeeping but there is no housekeeping unless you pay $25 a day so keep scrolling on Expedia until the very bottom. That’s where you see housekeeping is an extra charge so be prepared to keep hanging up your towels. What would keep me from booking again is there isn’t an ice machine. We were in Sedona for hiking and it would have been nice to fill the camelback with some ice for a hot hike. I would liked ice for sodas or water later that night. We were hot and thirsty and not having an ice machine was a kicker for me. If your not there to hike and only staying for a couple of days. It’s clean, small, and cute.

A motel like the old days. You drive your car right up to the door of your room. Best location possible to enjoy downtown Sedona.

My husband and I have stayed at star motel several times over the years. Typically the owner greets you when you sign in but no more. No one is at the office anymore to be able to possibly get in the room earlier get recommendations for places to eat etc. but with the electronic entrance you cannot get into your room 1 minute before 3:00. I found it very impersonal this stay. No one is around at all just a big sign to make reservations online, There is also a bar to get drinks but it was never open. Asked the maid where I can get ice & she said no place, it is a great location and it is clean but I sure wish they had someone at the front desk to make sure there was nothing you needed during your stay. They also did not replenish our coffee and tea, creamer etc. we stayed 2 nights it would been nice to get more coffee. Saw the said one time she didn’t ask if we needed anything either.

It was so easy to stay there. Communication was great, room was clean. Would stay there again. Recommend for sure.

The location was perfect, the room was clean and quiet, the staff was friendly, and the shower was amazing. Definitely recommend.

The only positive I can name is location. It's in the heart of Sonoma and you can walk to pretty much everything. The biggest negative was that it was not clean. I was okay with old and dated-it defonitely reflects the era in which it was built, but everything in the room needed a thorough cleaning. There were roaches in the bathroom, which we discovered the night before we checked out! This place is not worth the price even with the great location.

Pros - excellent location, right in town and walking distance to shops and restaurants. Cute little retro-vibe motel and responsive staff. Easy check in/out with a code (no staffed front desk). Cons- room is dark - only one dim lamp, and limited lighting generally. Floor wasn't clean -- our feet and socks were black with dirt from walking on the floor. No coffee maker or real coffee in room (just packets of instant coffee, which was surprising). It's hard to find drip coffee early AM in Sedona, so a coffee maker or Keurig machine would have been greatly appreciated.

This motel was a great place to stay while in Sedona. Super easy to check in with a code and the room was great with a big bed, modern look and very clean. The location is amazing with lots of shops and restaurants within a very short walking distance. Would definitely recommend this to anyone staying in the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our night here! The outstanding: 1. I’ve stayed all over the world and this could possibly be the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Is the kind of comfort that you expect at a Ritz Carlton. Love the full body pillows as well. 2. Super clean room. No stains or hairs on the sheets, no musty smell in the room. No crusty ceilings or walls, No suspicious stains in the shower. Just a very well-maintained and clean Room and property in general. 3. The price is reasonable. Sedona is an expensive place so kudos to the ownership For not price gouging, and keeping it affordable. 4. You won’t find a better location right in the middle of uptown Sedona. You could walk to Everything and see the whole area. The views of the rocks and the mountains are majestic. 5. The area is obviously very safe. Other good things 1. The AC worked perfectly. 2. The water pressure in the shower is adequate 3. There’s a large screen smart TV mounted on the wall in the room. 4. A good size, beverage cooler and microwave oven That we’re both very clean. 5. There are a couple of chairs and a small table in front of the room to give opportunities to gaze at the mountains with your morning, coffee and do some people watching. The neutral The AC is mounted kind of high, so if you’re a short family, you might have a hard time reaching the buttons…. Like if you’re 5 feet tall or less. There is no front desk service. Check out time is a little bit early at 10 AM. Was not a problem for us,

Super clean and very comfortable bed, excellent place to stay

Very convenient to downtown tourist area. Literally directly behind the shops. Everything is walking distance. That does come with a lot of noise tho. Don’t expect a quiet peaceful stay. You can hear EVERYTHING. Trash truck at 530am and the street blowers at 9pm. Room was nice, clean and tidy but VERY small. Coffee, tea, microwave and fridge. No one on site if you need something. Everything is done electronically. For the price it’s a nice stay. If you want something quiet after a long day choose somewhere else.

It was probably the smallest room we've ever stayed in, European hotels not included. It was so small, there wasn't even room for a chair, let alone two with a small table, so there was virtually no where to sit other than on the bed. The bed was comfortable for me (not so for my husband) and we found the refrigerator to be very useful, but there were few other amenities. We were okay staying there given how much time we spent away from the motel and our short two-night stay, the room was clean, and the location was outstanding, but the accommodations were super basic.

The room was basic but clean and comfortable. There was no maid service, which was fine with us. Awesome location, easy walking to lots of shopping and restaurants. The TV was huge but reception sucked. We couldn’t watch NFL playoff games. Channels that were available for streaming kept buffering every couple minutes

Very small room, for the price. Air conditioner blew directly on the bed and had to turn it off. Remote didn't control the fan speed or temperature. TV had very limited viewing choices. No ice.

The sliding glass door was very difficult to open and close and lock. The noise from the upstairs room was a bit over the top. The room itself was clean and comfortable. Be careful. The water is extremely hot in the shower. Turn on the cold water first and just add a little bit of hot, I have stayed here several times before I would recommend not having a downstairs room

There’s a reason this place is cheaper than the others. I booked the Star motel because one of the reviews stated recently renovated. Well if it was… they forgot to do the room I was in. The positive… the room was clean. It is in a great location. The bed was comfortable. The negative. To start there is no one at the property if you need something or there is a problem. Our door to the room was a sliding glass door, room 9. You have to play with the lock to get it to open and lock. For privacy, you need to draw the curtains together. For complete privacy bring a bag clip to clip the ends of curtains together so there are no gaps. Bathroom is very old. Shower is very small and there is no light in shower when curtain is drawn. They give you one micro-mini soap bar and small thing of shower gel… barely enough for one day. Not replaced for second day of stay. It is also difficult to adjust shower to a comfortable temp… either very hot or cold. I also understand that during busy times.. non- guests can and do park there because of its location. I didn’t have that problem but I did get the last spot on one occasion.

This motel gets a good rating from us because of its absolutely perfect central location in Uptown Sedona, with very convenient walk to shops, shuttles, tours, and restaurants. That’s worth quite a bit and we appreciated it. The other positive was its cleanliness and a very comfortable king bed and great water pressure in the shower. However, if you are bothered by cinder block walls, lack of good climate control, cold floors, and generally very dated ambience and amenities, this isn’t your place. It was very cold outside, and very cold in the room. There was a wall unit which covered both air and heat, so when the hot air was blowing, it was warm but it immediately cooled down, presumably from the very cold floors and antiquated insulation. We had brought a bed quilt with us, and were so glad we did. There is no front desk area, no personnel physically on premises other than cleaning staff during certain hours. Entrance to rooms is by key code. We appreciated the microwave and fridge in the room. I think all in all, we may stay here again, if in warmer weather, due to the great location, but it’s definitely not for everybody.

The location is fantastic in uptown. Walking distance to everything including some of the best restaurants. The room was small but functional but there is no staff on site. There is also no ice maker which is a first for us. The biggest issue was the anemic air conditioner which was left off before we got there and took all day and half the night to cool down the room. It was 105 degrees outside so why would you turn it off. Was not a comfortable situation.

Really nice..will come back for sure. Only complaints were AC in the room was really loud and the Motel needs to invest in an ice machine!

What I like the best is the location to the uptown area. you can walk everywhere. I had a problem with booking the wrong date. I called and they corrected my mistake within minutes. I have stayed there many times over the years, and it is my favorite.

There is no attendant at this motel - you are basically on your own Had to call twice upon arrival to get room number. Booked on Hotels.com and the motel didn’t text me fhe info - took two calls to get the info texeted so i could get in the room Upon entering room - heat was off - was not even 50 degrees inside. Called for help and they couldnt send anyone - 20 minutes later i spoke with mike who had me disconnect the unit and plug in - started working. Took more then 2 hours for room to reach adequate temp of 65. Heater cycled on/ off all night and was very loud - horrible night sleep There are no lights outside my room- with curbs and hazards - was dangerous after dark to walk from your room Walkways were covered with salt - snow had melted so should have been swept, There is no safety bar or chain inside room- door could easily be pushed in and doors showed signs that had occurred before. Two lamps with dim bulbs is all the room offered - not enough light to read a book- i had to use my own headlamp. Room reminded me of a concrete bunker with two beds - not even a chair though plenty of room for one. Terrible experience with this motel

Comfortable bed, very clean, small room but perfectly fine for a short visit, excellent location. Self check in and checkout, never saw any staff but had everything we needed.

Cute mid century motel with modern decor but zero in person service. Everything is via text which is convenient if all goes well, less so if there are issues. Easy walk to coffee and shops. Sedona is spectacular.

There was nobody on site you could speak to directly. All communication is through texts and emails.

Our stay was great until our neighbor started to party from midnight til 4am- tried to contact front desk for sone assistance - no response- not even a response the next day- you would think you’d get some sort of apology- sorry we weren’t available to address your issue -Nothing

We had a flawless stay at The Star Motel. I chose it based on its location and price, and it was great. They communicated well and often before our trip, and responded within an hour or two to an email question I had. We had a parking spot in front of our room that we could use when we arrived a couple hours before check-in to walk around the shops downtown. Room was clean and cool even during record heat. I would definitely stay here again.

The motel was cute, well styled, excellent location, ac wall unit didn't cool down the room well, due to the small size of the room, we realized if we left the bathroom door closed after showering it helped to keep the room cooler through the night, I was unsure about parking when we arrived back one night. All spaces were taken, we realized we could park on the side street which was easy but I called the motel help # to double check. The person was not helpful at all, he said someone would call me back and they didn't, that was really the only downside was that there wasn't anyone to ask questions and get good info about the area.

Check in was nice and easy. The location was great. Parking was convenient. We were able to walk to several shops and dining. The room was clean, and it was quiet. Unfortunately we left there feeling violated. The morning of check out we left to get breakfast and visit some of the shops. Upon returning to our room to change, clean up, and get ready to move on with our honeymoon trip we found that our room had been entered by the house keeping and the bed had been stripped and all the towels removed. We are relieved that we left no valuables in the room, but the rooms should not be entered until after scheduled check out time. Even though there were many convenient things about this location we will not be returning.

In the middle of Uptown Sedona, several shops and restaurants in walking distance. There is also a hiking trail down Jordan road that connects to several sites like the Soldier pass and seven sacred pools. Awesome location to stay in

I had a great time and the location is unbeatable. The room is small and couldn't figure out how to make the TV work. It's also kind of noisy, not from the outside but I woke up many times with what it sounded like plumbing noises. That said, I'd stay there again if I go to Sedona again. I'd just bring earplugs. Also, there's no coffee machine in the room.

Walk to many great restaurants recommend Cowboy Club Wedge Salad is to die for big enough to share and you can't go wrong with their steaks!! Bartender Shannon was so friendly and gave amazing service!

We enjoyed the 70's vibe decor and the clean, comfortable rooms. The location is excellent within walking distance of the Visitors Center, restaurants, shopping and coffee. We did not expect the spring break crowds, so parking and location was prime. This was my second stay at The Star Motel and I would highly recommend it!

Excellent location -- except for the lack of any dining after 7PM nearby. Room is clean and well-maintained. Bed very comfortable. BUT impossible to get any local channels (CBS, etc) on the large TV and the "coffee" was instant. Time has relegated this area of Sedona into a mass tee shirt mall with a magnificent view.
