Cache House

The Cache House is a recently renovated hostel in the basement of the Anvil Hotel only 2 blocks from the Historic Jackson Town Square. Most attractions, shopping, and restaurants are only minutes away by foot. You check in upstairs at the hotel counter. The staff at the counter were friendly, giving nearby food and attraction advice. There is no onsite parking available, so if you have a car you’ll need to find street parking nearby, which depending on what time you arrive could be 2+ blocks away since downtown Jackson is fairly busy. I chose a bottom cube with a Full mattress for easy access. Each cube comes with a mattress, light fixture, outlet with USB ports, a thick privacy curtain that blocks out most light and outside noise, and a small personal fan, which came in handy as I found that even though the common areas were comfortable, the cube itself became quite warm and stuffy when the curtain was closed. Each cube comes with a large wood locker underneath the bed as well as an even larger locker in the hallway for extra storage. Both lockers have combo locks, so no need to bring your own. There were plenty of personal bathrooms with showers. Showers were recently tiled. Shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner were provided, however I found them to be mostly empty. Several sink faucets were hanging loose, and more often then not there was standing water on the floor due to the lack of floor drains. Overall my expectations were exceeded and I enjoyed my stay at Cache House.

This was an excellent option for a budget traveler. However, the parking situation for the Cache House is frustrating, as there is no lot for guests of CH and the parking restrictions in Jackson are confusing. I found finding a place I would be allowed to park to be a stressful experience. Additionally, the signage on the outside of the building is very poor, leading it to be difficult to find the place. It is INSIDE of the Anvil Hotel.

We eventually got it sorted, but I would have expected better service from the staff to resolve any of these issues, since this seemed to be a common problem for making guests checking in during the stay. Otherwise, a great place to stay in Jackson.

Better than I expected. The beds were comfortable with lamps outlets and privacy curtains. Plenty of private restrooms. Decent living area. Good lockers. Convenient location. No parking.

This was a great place to stay but I almost didn't find it. I went around to block several times before I realize it was Hotel Anvil when I tried to call them. Then I had a bigger struggle trying to find a place to park so I could check in. They need to leave 15 minute parking open for check in.

Stress that there is only parking on the streets. Let’s know better times for finding parking.

Location is obviously great - but unfortunately putting a hostel in a basement with no windows at all is tough. I couldn't sleep b/c of thermostat is one setting for entire area (way too hot). Showers were not clean and fixtures were broken.

This was my first time staying at a hostel, I was honestly blown away on how nice it was. Very safe, clean, and I would 100% stay there again.

This is a great option for a no frills place to stay. The beds are comfortable, they have lockable drawers for your belongings, free regular coffee in themorning, it’s next to a public transportation stop, and the location cannot be beat. I marked it down a star for cleanliness because they could stand to vacuum around the mattresses, the floor in some of the bathroom stalls needed attention, and the sinks sometimes filled up and there wasn’t a lever to drain them.

I have a dust mite allergy. The ledge area above the pillows had a layer of dust that was distributed on my bedding when I turned on the small fan to circulate air. That meant that my stay was itchy and I needed to take Benadryl each night. It was also fairly cold and I had a hard time getting warm enough to sleep.

The Cache House is a great choice for those looking for an economical option while visiting the area. Safe, clean, quiet and affordable, are all important when you just need a place to lay your tired body from a full day outside!

For a Hostel it really wasn’t that bad annd even kind of cute. Our bunk was only given 1 towel for 2 people and almost every bathroom was out of toilet paper and shower gel. If the housekeeping was better kept I would have given a higher rating.

This was my first time staying at a hostel. I was surprised by how clean and quiet it was.

A comfortable bed. A communal stay can have drawbacks, specifically the level of noise that the other guests feel is appropriate before other people are awake. This is a cultural issue, not a Cache House issue.

Honestly this place exceeded my expectations. I love that the bunks are enough for two people with outlets. There’s a lamp and a fan and you get your own lock drawer and locker. There’s also multiple bathrooms and shower rooms. There’s also a projector so if you want to watch a movie or show you can! Also the aesthetics are very welcoming and warm, Definitely will stay here again in the future.

I haven’t stayed in a hostel since I was a college student and this one was so well thought out and designed. The beds queen sized spa quality futons with 4 wonderful pillows. You have a shelf over the head of your bed, adjustable lighting, 2 outlets, and a tornado fan to keep you cool or just use as white noise. The common area has a collection of old vinyl for playing on a turntable, as well as plenty of comfortable workstations and sofas. Towels, soap, and shampoo are all provided. The bathrooms are clean with doors that lock, glass shower enclosures, toilets and sinks. Each guest also has a locker large enough for a large backpack frame or suitcase with a back pack. You are also provided with a lockable drawer beneath your bed. I am a 64 year old woman and just loved everything about this place. Don’t hesitate. It’s the best deal in Jackson Hole hands down!

Really close to downtown Jackson hole, lots of clean showers, bunk beds above are a little warm but overall great facility. Would gladly stay again.

You must park on the street which can be difficult. Pictures don't really help you understand how the place is arranged. They were gracious enough to let us check in early but then one of beds for our group didn't get cleaned. Finally got that fixed late in the evening. They don't monitor quiet hours. Very nice mattress and the bathrooms are great.

Great, helpful hosts at front desk.

It’s a dormitory. Well behaved visitors managed to make noise anyway. I changed my itinerary and the staff was evasive, referring me to a “Manager” who was not present.

The place is centrally located and few minutes walk from town center. Very clean and comfortable.Bathrooms are well kept and clean all the time. Like to shot out to Tia for changing my arrival date ( i made a mistake with booking). She was absolutely lovely and kind and deserving to be placed in the front desk. Will definitely stay there again.

I have stayed at dozens of hostels... this is the nicet, comfiest hostel i have EVER stayed at... although due to the set up... took like 15 mins to find someone to check in..

The receptionist was definitely not the nicest person for the job, luckily when si came back later on, the other girl was much better at Customer Service. This place offers you a bed, a locker and bathroom/shower. THAT'S IT! Don't expect kitchenette, microwave, coffee marker or fridge. They have none! The bathroom area is a mess, I guess they clean only a few times throughout the day. There is no curfew time, so the guests keep coming in at all times of the night, the lights stay on so you keep waking up multiple times. Not great for resting. On top od that, this guy tried to get in my bunk thinking it was his. Too expensive of a place for so little in return.

I booked this place last-minute compared with the rest of my trip. I had chosen another place, but when I looked at travel time between my activity and the hotel, I realized that I needed somewhere closer. So I found this place. It was pricey, but at that point, I thought it was probably the best I could get. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a hostel, and the accommodation was not a room, it was a bunk bed. It might have been comfortable for 1 adult per bed, but I am on the large side, and I am used to a King size bed. Plus getting in and out was challenging. To make matters worse, the parking was not on-site, but rather at a parking garage about 6 or so blocks away. The lady at the front desk kindly assured me that parking could be had on the street after the night life slowed down, but my husband is an "in bed by 9 p.m." type, and we had a long drive the next day. We decided to treat the experience as an adventure, and that made it a bit more palatable. However, I don't see very many college-aged or young 20-somethings being able to afford $200/night. We paid more than that. In fact, for what we paid, I usually get a nice suite with attached bathroom. The whole experience kind of left me with a bad taste for Jackson, Wyoming. Next time, I will look at the description carefully before I book.

Fantastic stay. Beds are very comfortable and amenities are top notch for a hostel. Staff was very helpful as well. This is probably the best hostel I've ever stayed at, I really appreciate them providing an affordable accomadation option in Jackson.

Great staff. Helped fix the locker code. Wear earplugs. I did that and a sleeping mask my third day and it made all the difference. There were just a couple people that disrespected quiet time so this will help you a ton. Not the property's fault. Free drip coffee, and really enjoyed the paid latte at the front desk. They have board games, chess by the front desk chill area. Clean! So many bathrooms and showers, so you'll always have that for you. The only thing is they didnt clean our bunk at all during the 3 day stay. Maybe because we woke up so late the 2nd day- but they were right there cleaning the others already and saw us leave so thats strange.

Center of town, no parking, but you can park overnight in a garage not too far from the hotel. And then you’re in the heart of Jackson, and everything’s close by

Clean and quiet place to stay very close to GTNP. Town is walkable and finding parking after 6pm on the street for the night wasn't an issue. Most affordable option in Jackson!

Great beds and a nice sleeping arrangement after a long day on the road. Coffee in the morning was complimentary and good coffee . Food is a close walk from the street entrance and the overall feel of the place is very much like a high end dormitory . Super cool experience and I would recommend all day !!

Very nice place, out first time staying in a bunkhouse, a little bit different. Very clean. The only thing I wish they had a microwave.

I felt like I was in jail. Way too expensive for no amenities no breakfast or access to microwave or refrigerator.no windows. I should have stayed in Rock Springs twice as much for less than half the cost. J H is for the wealthy who will benefit from trump budget. Not for middle class hard working families who want to show their kids national parks.

I stayed here with my mom in a queen bunk and we were pleasantly surprised with our stay as we have never stayed in a hostel type setting before. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There were a ton of clean bathrooms available at all times and the bunk felt very private and secure with everyone respecting quiet hours. Wifi worked perfectly. The location was great with some good food in walking distance. They even have complimentary good coffee at the hotel. The only con is the off site street parking, although we got lucky with a spot close by. All in all this is a much cheaper option for staying in Jackson and would definitely recommend this to anyone traveling through or wanting to stay near the national parks!
