We enjoyed our stay and we will be back!

Susan‘s place was an excellent stay for our small group of friends on a quick beach trip. We loved how close it was to the beach, less than a one minute walk. The house had everything we needed and more. Provided Beach chairs, towels and a rolling cart to carry everything to and from the beach, which was again, SO close to the house. An outdoor grill and fire pit, outside outdoor shower. The house is very cute and has a lot of charming character. We loved the upstairs deck with tables and chairs for dinner outside. we would love to stay here again, highly recommend!

Our little fam and dog stayed at the Atlantic Shores getaway in mid May 2026The Good * The location is incredible! * The beach is open and non touristy * The host allowed us to check in a few hours early!* They take dogs! Has gates for dogs inside and on deck* The house basically has everything you need! We showed up with just clothes. Things to note: we didn’t see any of these things listed in the VRBO site reviews but think it’s worth mentioning:.* Some furniture has been highly used as well as many of the rugs that seem dingy. * Many cigarette butts were on the property. There are two smoking spaces outside - we are not smokers so that felt a bit gross to us. * We experienced heavy rain for a day and had water leakage into some areas. The host was made aware and is having maintenance look into them.* The view from the deck no longer allows an ocean view due to the home building across the way and taller palms. The pics on the site could be updated to reflect the current view. It’s still pretty, but you cannot see the ocean. Overall- the memories we have from the 7 nights are irreplaceable. Our family grew closer as a unit and we fell in love with Jacksonville Beach! The house was what we needed it to be- a place so close to the ocean to see the sunrise on walks, have coffee together on the deck and watch our kids play! We loved it!

The house was filthy and I had to clean it before we used it. The mattress cover under on one of the beds was covered in dog hair and hidden under the top sheet. The dryer and dishwasher were loaded and had to be emptied at xheck in. THEN the upstairs bathroom shower flooded the downstairs bathroom, messaged the owner and 4 days later have no response from her. The leaking plumbing may explain the sour mildew smell in the downstairs part. Also, there is a window that someone could easily enter through that has no lock or security. Most of the beach equipment on property is broken and in disrepair. And let's not talk about the living room rug being nasty and unsanitary.
