The hotel is undergoing construction and they started at 8am finishing at 8pm. This meant if you wanted a restful stay you didn’t get one. The price didn’t reflect the disruption.

This motel looks quite scruffy from the outside but the unit itself had been refurbished and was quite spacious. Excellent beds and linen, but threadbare towels and no salt and pepper. A mirror by a powerpoint is needed for drying hair as the hairdryer can't be plugged in the bathroom. A handy location close to the beach and shops and surprisingly quiet at night.

Summer Inn was a perfect location for our 2 nights in Orewa. Excellent beach access, 10 minute walk to beautiful Alice Eaves Scenic Reserve and 10 minute walk to MANY restaurants & shops. Was a BONUS to discover all rooms were completely renovated in 2025. On-site parking is plentiful and free.

The Summer Inn is an older motel with average facilities. I found sleeping a bit difficult because the blinds in the kitchen area let too much light in from the outside. There was some road noice from about 6 am. The owner was friendly and helpful !

Summer Inn is an older style motel very close to the beach and only a short walk to the town centre. It is run by a young couple who live onsite and appear to be working hard to improve their motel with painting, equipment and developing the grounds. It is very clean and tidy. It is very good value for money compared with many Orewa options. Recommended.

Looks like the rooms are being refurbished painters in other rooms . Nice bathroom and comfortable with everything you need except the TV only had news channels . All in all good value for what we payed.

It was clean and well presented and the bed was comfortable. The toilet roll holder was awkwardly placed, there was no shelf for the shampoo in the shower and the floor surround needed painting. It was a dated design

My small 'single' room with a double bed was tucked in beside the office, and seemed to me to be a rcent addition in a spare space in the administrative block. Lots of road noise with carpark outside the one small window for the room. It was very hot throughout the day untill early hours of morning. Also hearing a fan motor continuously running during the nights. Room was spotless.

The one staff member did not speak or understand English and there was a note on the desk saying that the owner was called back to China I could on speak to the staff thru an interpreter on her Cell Phone She was the only staff in the whole complex She was not around until mid afternoon
