DARRELL WAS FRIENDLY AND INFORMATIVE ON ARRIVAL. OUR SECOND STAY HERE AND ALWAYS ENJOY. THIS TIME WE HAD THE JOY OF PLAYING ON THE FULL SIZE SNOOKER TABLE.

Die Begrüßung durch eine Mitarbeiterin der Rezeption war sehr freundlich. Wir wurden sehr persönlich durch das wunderschön möblierte Haus geführt und es wurde auf alle Annehmlichkeiten hingewiesen. Sehr praktisch war die (kostenlose) Nutzung von Waschmaschine und Trockner. Unsere Suite (2 Zimmer und Bad) war sehr stilvoll eingerichtet, wir hätten bei Bedarf sogar einen gasbetriebenen Kamin anstellen können. Das Abendessen im angeschlossenen Hotel Commodore war überaus reichlich und sehr lecker. Das Continental Breakfast am nächsten Morgen war dagegen sehr spärlich, mit wenig Auswahl. Auch hier war das Personal sehr zugewandt und hilfreich. Die Unterkunft können wir sehr empfehlen.

This property was maintained impeccably with all the modern amenities and facilities while preserving the Victorian charm. The concierge was very welcoming. We loved the fireplace in the room and the super comfortable bed. Highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning property, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have stayed in many places around the world, the room and bathroom etc are absolutely elite standard! The entrance road in, up to the parking, needs some repair.

We stayed in the Walker suite which was beutifully furnished. Little things have been thought of such as a makeup towel, heated blanket and under floor heating which was great for the colder mornings. All staff were great in particular Ashley who was amazing and an asset to the team. There is a games room upstairs with the biggest pool table ever! There was a bit of noise in the room from the trucks as by a busy road but not too loud. The mattress was quite soft which although comfortable on the first night gave me a achy neck after the second as you sunk into the mattress which some may like. We had a choice of a breakfast hamper or credit for the Commodore next door. We took the credit and it was well worth it and the breakfast was awesome. We also had dinner there which was nice, however we were left underwhelmed and found it to be quite expensive for what we got. Overall it was a great stay and we will definately be repeat customers.

A restored 1902 estate house with beautiful renovations, including an actual sitting room with a fireplace. The bed was one of the best you could hope for in terms of comfort and the suite was very clean. We were even given on-property covered parking. The top floor gave us access to a masterpiece of an early 20th century pool table that was said to have been laid in place before the roof was added. It is huge (and fun if you appreciate billiards). I'd stay again if we shoot through Mt Gambier again.

Estate was gorgeous and we were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves. Very convenient location and would definitely stay again. Would be an absolute luxury if there was a tv in the lounge area of the Hay Suite to top things off.

Fantastic property, very comfortable bed and room with beautiful furnishings. Everything you need for a relaxing stay. Bathroom has underfloor heating and excellent shower. All round an excellent experience and a quality place to stay. Will be back, it was just so wonderful.

What an absolutely fabulous property. We stayed in the Frew Suit it was exceptional! Only criticism was bed could have been firmer but as ours was a 1 night stay not really a problem. The area is great for lots of interesting explorations and a great stop on the way from Melbourne to Adelaide. Would definitely recommend it will not disappoint.

The accommodation was lovely. Unfortunately the hotel was having trouble with there electronic keycards and we were locked out three nights in a row. While the first and last occasion were out of their control, they were aware of an issue on the middle day and did not take the time to contact us and alert us to the issue. Given the boutique nature of this hotel, the lack of service ethos was astounding.
The accommodation was lovely. Unfortunately the hotel was having trouble with there electronic keycards and we were locked out three nights in a row. While the first and last occasion were out of their control, they were aware of an issue on the middle day and did not take the time to contact us and alert us to the issue. Given the boutique nature of this hotel, the lack of service ethos was astounding.

We’ve been on the road for almost 3 weeks and it was a gorgeous penultimate destination. The bathroom was luxurious - and the perfect place to wash the road grime away after a long trip. The bed was comfy and the venue was nice and quiet. The customer service from all the staff we spoke with were wonderful. There was a small hiccup with our access passes which locked us out of the building and on notifying staff it was remedied almost immediately. I mention this only as example of how efficient and caring they were and how great the customer service was.

This property was maintained impeccably with all the modern amenities and facilities while preserving the Victorian charm. The concierge was very welcoming. We loved the fireplace in the room and the super comfortable bed. Highly recommend!

The property and rooms are designed beautifully and the property as a whole has been fantastically renovated. Continental breakfast in the dining room was delicious and there was enough to serve as lunch as well. We had a late dinner at the restaurant linked to the property which was also great and the staff were very friendly despite our late arrival.

Beautiful property, for the rural area of Sth Australia 4 star but expensive. I say this because the package purchased was not delivered. I emailed the property directly regarding this and no reply. Our suite was gorgeous and a breakfast hamper was to be included. 8 am was our requested delivery as we had a big drive ahead. We waited until 8.45am … still nothing, so departed on our trip. Major issue here is that I left enough time before emailing them direct, for it to be recognised of this shortfall. I then after 3 hours post departure emailed the main email that they have been prompt communicators on. As at now 6.30pm no response nor recognition … disappointing overall, the small things matter!

The property is magnificent. Has a great location, beautiful surroundings and fantastic atmosphere. We had stayed in Frew suite that was superb. Breakfast was great, more than enough for two. Kitchen very well equipped. One of the best places we had stayed in. We do it again 😀

What an absolutely fabulous property. We stayed in the Frew Suit it was exceptional! Only criticism was bed could have been firmer but as ours was a 1 night stay not really a problem. The area is great for lots of interesting explorations and a great stop on the way from Melbourne to Adelaide. Would definitely recommend it will not disappoint.

Estate was gorgeous and we were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves. Very convenient location and would definitely stay again. Would be an absolute luxury if there was a tv in the lounge area of the Hay Suite to top things off.

The rooms in the old homestead are fantastically OTT and are really suites. Perfect for a luxe hideaway. Also the restaurant and bar in the adjoining main Commodore motel are excellent.

Die Begrüßung durch eine Mitarbeiterin der Rezeption war sehr freundlich. Wir wurden sehr persönlich durch das wunderschön möblierte Haus geführt und es wurde auf alle Annehmlichkeiten hingewiesen. Sehr praktisch war die (kostenlose) Nutzung von Waschmaschine und Trockner. Unsere Suite (2 Zimmer und Bad) war sehr stilvoll eingerichtet, wir hätten bei Bedarf sogar einen gasbetriebenen Kamin anstellen können. Das Abendessen im angeschlossenen Hotel Commodore war überaus reichlich und sehr lecker. Das Continental Breakfast am nächsten Morgen war dagegen sehr spärlich, mit wenig Auswahl. Auch hier war das Personal sehr zugewandt und hilfreich. Die Unterkunft können wir sehr empfehlen.

We stayed in the Walker suite which was beutifully furnished. Little things have been thought of such as a makeup towel, heated blanket and under floor heating which was great for the colder mornings. All staff were great in particular Ashley who was amazing and an asset to the team. There is a games room upstairs with the biggest pool table ever! There was a bit of noise in the room from the trucks as by a busy road but not too loud. The mattress was quite soft which although comfortable on the first night gave me a achy neck after the second as you sunk into the mattress which some may like. We had a choice of a breakfast hamper or credit for the Commodore next door. We took the credit and it was well worth it and the breakfast was awesome. We also had dinner there which was nice, however we were left underwhelmed and found it to be quite expensive for what we got. Overall it was a great stay and we will definately be repeat customers.

The property was exquisite and the location was close to everything. The only issue was with checkin. We were unable to make a phone call to have someone meet us for checkin. It would be convenient to let out of country guests know that the property manager is available at the hotel next door. This would have simplified the check in significantly. Other than that the experience was wonderful. Would highly recommend staying g at this location.

Property and room was exquisite. Unfortunately we were greeted by a very curt and rude staff member who seemed upset that she needed to wait for us to travel here for the evening on a long weekend. She phoned us 3 times confirming our arrival time. We told her it would be around a certain time and she mentioned to us that as it was a long weekend, they wanted to leave earlier then the stated check in time. When we checked out the next morning, the cleaning staff was there at 10:59am and the check out was 11 am. We felt SO rushed out and rushed in. And additionally, the kitchen staff were also wanting to rush us out. For the money we spent on this place, it was very upsetting. Perhaps consider staying in the Commodore, an adjoining hotel which was much cheaper.
