NO WHERE ON THE SITE DID IT TELL ME IM STAYING IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BUILDING THAN THE ONE ADVERTISED. I knew the room would be small but thought I was staying in the building they have all over their website. The building they had us in was down the road from what we thought we booked. It was SO DIRTY and it smelled so dungey. I feel like I got scammed because the rooms were NOT cheap, it was very expensive for basically a closet. The room amenities were trash, it was basically just a bed. The walls were so thin we felt like we had to whisper because we felt like we can hear our neighbors like we were sharing the same room. The steamer they put in the room for us to use had MOLD inside (see picture). They had refillable soaps (shampoo, conditioner, & body wash), but the body wash and conditioner was EMPTY EVEN BEFORE WE CHECKED IN. This place is absolutely disgusting, do not book it. Don’t waste your money.

The door tomy room would not lock. Attempts by staff eventually allowed the key to work, but each time used a black grease coated the key causing a mess. I asked for another room and was given one, which was satisfactory, but for a $400 fee was disappointing - not even a breakfast included. I will not stay at Surf Hotel nka Beach House Hotel.

The room was clean and super convenient. The size is small, but it's clearly a historic converted property. I remember reading that the staff didn't text when their room was ready... so even though we didn't get a text - we checked and the kid was like "Oh... yeah, actually it is." The Beach House is the most convenient place to stay. But it's an old building so they were definitely working on some plumbing issues and I would guess they are phasing out the pool since it's costly to maintain. The location is excellent, but it should let you know it's a couple flights of older stairs (we were fine, but older folks struggled). The restaurant there is fantastic and the shop is very chic. It's a beautiful place but it's important to know what you're getting, since you want to make sure you're getting bang for your buck.

The room was run down with paint peeling off the walls and sloping floors. The price paid definitely doesn’t match the room. I’m all for charm and old buildings but this was just not well maintained.
