Easy access to dive boats, staff very nice & accommodating. Swim up jacuzzi bar was nice. Lots of chairs around the pool & beach, towel service. Some small maintenance issues in our room, which staff attended to immediately, & moved us to another room. All was good after that.

La pase muy bien. Buena atencion de parte del personal, el todo incluido es a la carta y la comida es excelente, cuando regrese a cozumel seguro me hospedo aqui, me dieron 1 hora gratis de snorkel diaria gratis por mi paquete todo incluido. La zona de playa es hermosa.

Good reef on the property for snorkeling. Pretty chaos and noisy when people from a cruise ship come to the hotel for lunch, destroying all the peace and quiet.

Great hotel but even better service. No beach to walk on but great snorkeling right there. Good was good. Service is amazing. They bring your drinks and food right to you on the beach.

Stayed at El Cid many times, like the location with shopping and transportation options within short walking deistance. On the ocean side. most all rooms have ocean views, snorkeling right there within a few steps on property. Small family like atmosphere as opposed to the mega resorts, but still has all the amenities as larger resorts.

The property from the front is very run down and old and the sidewalk/parking lot is broken down with holes and broken concrete. The staff is wonderful. No beach I repeat NO BEACH even though it’s a beach resort there is no beach. We had to pay $80 to go to San Francisco beach club. Taxis are anywhere from 10-20 each way. No bus system. We did enjoy the cruise ships coming and going. Only one restaurant. No evening entertainment except for karaoke. Limited food and drink choices. Again it was clean staff was great. Very small property.

Good experience. The "All Inclusive" food offering was decent. Staff were very good. Room was not fancy, but clean and nice enough. Only one pool and fairly small. We mainly use the hotel for a place to eat and sleep while not scuba diving and it worked for that.

Property was completely under construction. Drilling at most hours of the day. Even some evenings. It did not matter which side of the property are on there was construction on the north wing and the sales center area.

Truely worst stay. The room was like staying in a dark cave. The room was freezing cold and the bathroom like a sonna. The lock to the balcony door was broken. There were no towels in bathroom. . After the storm Saturday night we woke up to flooding in bathroom floor from under the sink area. Housekeeping brought us dirty towels on Sunday since again they had not put towels in the room. This was to be our 45th anniversary trip and sadly it has been disappointing. It appears that we were given a room in part of the hotel still being worked on from all the noise hammering and drilling . I certainly will write to their cororate office for such unprofessional hospitality we received.

We stayed on the 12th floor and had a beautiful view of the ocean. Every thing was good until it rained and we had a leak in our ceiling. We told the front desk but they didn’t do anything. We had to lay towels on the floor around the room to sop up the water.

The El Cid was a wonderful place to stay. The hotel is clean with friendly staff. It has an on site dive shop. You can snorkel or dive at their beach. There is daily entertainment. The buffet offers many choices or order from their menu. I do not recommend purchasing a shared taxi as part of your travel package. There are plenty of taxi's at the airport and hotel that are easy to get for $20.

We had a great time at El CID La Ceiba. The staff really make this place wonderful. Everyone we encountered was friendly and had a big smile on their face. The rooms are a little dated but they were clean and that’s all I really care about.

I really enjoyed staying here. The dining area was rarely crowded, the food was passable (at least for a Canadian), the staff at the reception desk, dining hall and maintenance crew were always willing to help. The room I stayed in was great once they cleared up problems with the house phone, tub drain and hot water, which they attended to right away. If I return (I am 79) I’ll certainly stay here again.

Wonderful hotel, with the staff making it that way. The food is excellent, both the choices and the quality. All the employees are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are the best, with cold AC, hot water in the shower, and always clean.

Our sole purpose is scuba diving. We enjoy staying at El Cid/La Ceiba as the property is always clean and the staff are always welcoming and warm.

The best part was snorkeling and floating right off dock. This was our third trip to ElCid and will be our last. Needs major updates. Our first room was so bad with mildew we changed. Second was not much better. Tried to change again and they stated all rooms were booked, which I found hard to believe. Food is mediocre. Service was great the first two days and then after that we could hardly get any service. Very disappointed

The good: Clean and great staff! You do have ocean front to the Caribbean ocean. The bad: The ocean front has a view of cruise ships and only a tiny beach access. There is a wall that blocks ocean access. Aldo the facility was older and internet was not included.

We have lots of mixed feelings about our stay here. We liked the view from the 6th floor, the food, close to town for shopping, watching the cruise ships dock, snorkeling and walking distance to submarine. What we did not like was the bed was so hard and uncomfortable, the front desk never knew what was going on or how to handle situations like the ceiling leak from 4 floors above us that flooded out our bathroom all day, limited dining options, cruise ship people taking over the beach and especially the construction noise.

I love the space , the room had a jacuzzi and kitchen a comfortable sofa bed and a separate bedroom, the food was delicious and there was a variety of food options, the staff was really friendly I also loved the snorkeling area and the amazing view from my room, I will definitely come back again

Way Better than we expected for the price. Room was spacious with large bathroom and comfortable bed , balcony was adequate for the two of us with a nice view. Best food we’ve ever eaten in an all inclusive, variety and quality. Drinks were what we expected for all inclusive. Service was okay, not bad service but not excellent. Communication was the issue. We speak no Spanish and their English wasn’t great.

We’ve been to Cozumel 3 times and stayed somewhere different each time. El Cid was our favorite so far. Food was great minus one menu (which really was just harder that one night to find stuff for our picky kids-all other meals were total winners all around and we have a very picky 8 year old!). Felt incredibly safe and loved walking to nearby stores, carts and a shopping plaza. People were always willing to help out but weren’t overly in your face or constantly there asking what you needed-which I appreciated after a day at Chankanaab where we couldn’t go more than 3 minutes without being interrupted (super friendly, and I get why, but I appreciated the privacy at El Cid while also having people on staff more than willing to jump in and help provide what was needed-my kiddo even felt comfortable going up to the bar and ordering himself lunch!). We actually enjoyed watching the cruise ships come and go, the kids especially, but we did wonder how much choppier the water may have been by being so close to the docks and boat traffic? Wondered if snorkeling could have been smoother further from the boats, but what snorkeling we did out front was great even if it was bumpy at times-lots of sea life right out front!

We had a really good time, room was nice and spacious and bed was comfy with great working AC (we have stayed at several other resorts and this seems to be a struggle). We scuba dive and the dive shop was right there and they were so helpful. Food was really good and the menu had a lot of options. I wish there was more things to do in the evening at the resort. Once the ships leave everything around there shuts down.

The property was beautiful and generally well maintained. One of our rooms air conditioners barely worked so that is why the 4 stars. Staff was warm, kind, helpful and hospitable. Food was AMAZING!!

This place tried to charge me significantly more than I was told I needed to pay upon arrival. And they had a wedding that made extremely loud music until 1 AM. I’m all for weddings, but I’m also all for being able to sleep at a normal hour in a facility that I paid to sleep in. They have a beautiful resort, but they’re trying to take advantage of their customers is gonna cost them in the long run.

I’m all for weddings, but I’m also all for being able to sleep at a normal hour in a facility that I paid to sleep in. They have a beautiful resort, but they’re trying to take advantage of their customers is gonna cost them in the long run.

I would date this property 6/10. For the price, it was ok. We checked in on a Wednesday at 2pm, front desk told us to come back around 3 because our room wasn’t ready. So we went to “the beach” (property is not on a beach which we found out when we got there) we went back to the front desk at 3:30 and our room was still not ready which was disappointing but worse when the front desk is super rude. They didn’t have beach/pool towels for 48 hours, we ended up buying some from a local shop for our excursion. And the front desk and pool towel lady were extremely rude. They kept telling us they would send towels to our room. We never received any towels. They say they have 2 restaurants, 1 bar and 1 swim up bar which is completely false. They have 1 restaurant that it. The restaurant, bar and swim up bar are all the same place. There is a restaurant called Deck 41 but told us that was not included in our all inclusive stay. Meals were mostly buffet style which I’m not against but they wouldn’t let us order off the menu. Food was ok, not great but not terrible. Pool was so cold, so we weren’t able to enjoy the pool We ended up going off site for dinner twice so we could try different food. My husband and I made the most of our trip but we will not be returning to El CID.

Roger, the entertainment concierge, is totally awesome. He made our stay exceptional. Victor is a superb waiter and always went out of his way to make sure we had what we wanted. One of our party left their phone in a cab and the staff worked relentlessly to retrieve it. It was returned to us the very same day! Can’t ask for more friendly, helpful staff who actually seem to like their jobs

We have stayed here several times and love this resort! It’s small, clean, and has a beautiful view!! The service is usually amazing but on the last day it was terrible! We sat on the beach and not one person came to offer us drinks or food! For over 5 hours….this is not the norm for them and we were shocked!

The staff was very friendly and service minded, but the hotel management was very slow and greedy (charging internet at $5 for each device per day as an additional fee) and made mistakes with assigning the rooms without providing any kind of compensation nor proper explanation

Front desk don’t know nothing, really hard to have service at the pool and beach. Security guard damaged my rental scooter and they don’t want to be responsible about it, I’m really upset, terrible hotel

This was the perfect location to have a vacation. Staff, rooms, activities were outstanding. Concierge Emilio was awesome attending to even the smallest request immediately and efficiently. Location was walking distance from shopping and attractions.

we bought the elite package and got excellent food on a separate menu from the regular all inclusive. supposed to get premium liquor on elite but did not get what we got in the past. just a couple of liquors or wines total that we got that the regulars did not. problem at check in when girl delayed our getting 1 bedroom suite for hours and tried to get us to accept a less expensive room over and over. bad experience. reported her to Fransisco the manager and we had our room in 10 minutes. he also got us a bottle of wine that was on the elite list.

Generally we only tend to eat breakfast and lunch at the resorts we stay at and go out into town for a much better option. But El Cids food was outstanding and we dined exclusively there the entire week.

The cruise ships are ruining El Cid. We love this place but the cruise ships run the smog the whole time they are in port. So sad for this wonderful hotel.

Stayed at El Cid many times, like the location with shopping and transportation options within short walking deistance. On the ocean side. most all rooms have ocean views, snorkeling right there within a few steps on property. Small family like atmosphere as opposed to the mega resorts, but still has all the amenities as larger resorts.

Enjoyed our 5 day stay. Clean property with easy access to get around to shopping and diving. Only one restaurant was open while we were there but they food options were great. We did the elite option as it had the all inclusive food/drink option. Plenty of food & drink choices that came with it. Smaller place with most options available of a larger place. Only downfall is that the cruise ships sit to the left side of the property every day except Sunday. There we're a few cruisers that paid for the day pass but it didn't make it overcrowded.

Stayed here for 8 days very clean and nice place. The island is super safe we felt safe going out for a walk at night no problem. One thing to complain is the whole island is catered towards the cruise ships so at 6 everything shuts down and the night life boring besides going for a nice walk. Highly recommend for someone who just wants a relaxing vacation and not wanting to go out and party.

The food is atrocious! Coffee is undrinkable. We were on all inclusive and had to have bad buffets everyday. In a week we NEVER got to order from the menu!!! We love the dive operation which is why we come here. Our dive master Jonathan is great.

We love El Cid La Ceiba, primarily because the food is better than any other place we have stayed in Cozumel. Mind you, we do the all inclusive that allows us to order from the menu, in addition to the buffet. Sometimes the buffet is not that appealing, and the food from the menu has failed to disappoint us. The rest of the facilities are ok, but nothing special. If you are looking for luxury, this place isn't it. But it is real good. Don't have any issues with it.

The food was buffet for every meal, which was usually cold . The staff ignored you , usually didn’t say hello when you entered the dining room, except to scan your room number. Then they spent most of the time talking to each other at the bar area , while you had to chase someone to get an extra drink… unless you were a “paying” guest, not an “”all inclusive” one. They had 2 outside lunch bar-b- que where food was out there for 3 hours in the sun, the cheese congealed, the flys landed on the spoons which had caked on food from being used used by everyone. Y to he hot food was cold, the cold food with mayo was not cold. The man who cooked the meat took it with his bare hands, putting chicken, burgers or hardened pork ( in a melted ice bowl), to put it on the grill,then added the lettuce, tomatoe, onion on a bun. We were never allowed to order off the menu for the ten days we were there. We were not very happy with the variety of food. Had to ask for salt and pepper every day, butter also. We have stayed here many years and we watched the food and service decrease

Had a little misunderstanding with alcohol. Confused as to what alcohol is on the all inclusive menu. Food was better this time but room for improvement. The international buffet was horrible. Deserts were horrible / breakfast is your best meal.

well we booked our suite last may with a $600 deposit, we flew 2000 mile got there and they gave our room away. i would never trust them again with our vacation!

The staff was the best. Francesco the manager went above and beyond to accommodate us. The servers made our whole stay Awesome. Julio the entertainment director tried to keep things going all the time, he was wonderful. We had a great relaxed time. It’s non wonder there are so many return guests

The only thing i didn't like was the tile in the rooms and balconies was very slippery when wet I did actually slip and fell after a rain storm, other wise the staff was very friendly.

Small property with one restaurant and got to know great staff and other guests well. Not much offered for activities and nothing for young kids. We enjoyed snorkeling right there at hotel but no sandy beach in site. Also many cruise ships right there by hotel

We had a wonderful stay at the El Sid, when we got there we were greeted with smiling friendly faces. Check in was a breeze and without asking our room was upgraded to a lovely ocean view 2 room suit. Room was immaculate and the bed to die for. Food at the hotel was top notch, they had a real charcoal bbq going and we all enjoyed steak and ribs. It was small as resorts go but that made it nice in my opinion, no lines for anything and the staff was there for our every need Definitely go again
