Rooms very small. Got placed in a tiny room to start with no windows (just a fake garden in the window) and was claustrophobic but staff was very friendly and helpful and moved me to a slightly larger room with an atrium view. Still very small and no daylight into room. The hallways have a faint sewage smell and room smelled like smoke. My parents room was also small but they moved to a much larger King room. Overall the hotel is decent but definitely not worth the price - priced same as the ritz and Shangri La which are far more welcoming. Staff was super helpful and friendly at all times though. Lobby is nice. Area is nice. Overall would price it at 220-250$ a night maximum for it to be worth staying. Did not feel luxurious as I expect a JW would; rooms felt more like an Airport hotel Marriott and I couldn’t get past the hallway smells.

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel that is spotlessly clean, has many amenities and is convenient to the Galaport; however, the staff is what makes it one of the best places I have ever stayed. Every person was completely dedicated to helping to make our stay perfect. Every person went above and beyond with any question or request. I would stay here again without reservation and with joy!

The location of this hotel was absolutely fabulous and should not be under emphasized. The hotel itself was great. Staff were attentive. The rooms do have some quirkiness to them because it is a renovated soap factory, which is part of the charm. And when you think of that in context, the hotel is that much better. My only two criticisms are the pillows were way too soft and underfilled, which caused an uncomfortable sleep. The second was that it was not possible to get breakfast à la carte, you had to get the entire buffet at $60 which is terrible value, especially when I just wanted three egg omelette.
