The Essence Hotel at JFK

Never expected breakfast to be cold n packed one... Hotel staff were poor in communication skills. To avoid changing hotel I requested extension for couple of week days. However had no support from staff ended up paying double the amount to initial booking for same period. All excess money paid must be refunded without delay.

Great place to stay

The room was clean and the staff were very cordial. Only two minor issues were the parking situation and that the elevator was not working -- luckily the latter was fixed before leaving. I did not have the breakfast therefore I cannot comment on it.

The staff was superb, room fresh, spacious and clean.

Terrible, horrible, and filthy. When I finally reached my room on the 7th floor, it was a disaster; the lobby reeked of cigarette smoke ....OMG, it was actually seeping into my room! The room phone didn't work, so I called reception from my cell phone to complain, but they didn't care at all. Honestly, it's a dump of a hotel. A terrible experience and it was only for one night.
