Sutton Staithe Hotel

Clean and contemporary room. Perfect for what we needed. Breakfast was good and staff were very friendly. Dog friendly hotel was massive bonus. Just shame they didn’t do food on a Sunday.

Quaint old building, everything catered for as you would expect. Friendly staff and locals in the bar were friendly too.

Lovely traditional inn , a few little luxuries in room, quirky with bags of character, tasty food available and good range of draft drinks at the bar. Helpful staff, fantastic value for money with fullbreakfast included.

Excellent value accommodation. No frills but service, food and cleanliness were all faultless. The room was very comfortable and the hotel in a lovely spot right on Sutton staithe. Could be further improved by demolishing the ugly redundant function facility attached to the rear of the property but I realise this is no small, or cheap undertaking. Overall a brilliant 2 night break though. Would definitely recommend.

No frills room, lamps out, rads need bleading Good big bed, ample coffee, tea and biscuits. Plenty of towels, warm and comfortable. Cosy bar area with open log fire, quiet time of year. Breakfast, ample full english with bottomless toast, tea, coffee and cereal.

Check in was easy. Staff were busy helping customers who had a booking problem and seemed to making sure they were able to make sure the customers Were taken care of. They broke of to check me in, effortlessly. Room was small and comfortable for a single traveler. Only slight niggle was the lights over the outside seating, which were directly outside the rooms window, did stay on all Night.

Staff great, beer selection much better, newly decorated rooms, and great breakfast. Could do with a better walkway to rear car park, and would have liked an evening meal, but understand the reasons for this.

Very nice hotel several hundred years old. Be aware it has no lifts and the stairs are quite steep and narrow.

A nice hotel and in a lovely location. The breakfast was good and the service was friendly. Drinks were reasonably priced. The hotel was very dog friendly but the stairs were very steep (it's an old building) so I had to carry my dog up and and down the stairs (and he's not a small dog). This couldn't be helped by the hotel but I wouldn't stay there again if I had my dog with me.

Staff very friendly ate here food was very nice, the only thing I would say is the WiFi is pretty bad my wife was trying to work on her laptop and couldn’t get connected on that or our phones

Room was ok, tea and coffee facilities not great and bathroom was very tired. Toilet roll holder and shower fittings both very loose and fell off at one point. Brad was comfortable and breakfast was delicious

Two night stay in a single room. My second visit to the hotel which had changed hands between. Room was clean and well stocked but needs some TLC, as does other areas. The floor in my room was very uneven and creaky and the corridor outside, equally so; to the point it almost feels unsafe. Breakfast was good. Staff were all friendly, helpful and hard working.

The room was clean with coffee and tea making facilities. The decor is a bit dated and the wonky floors added to it's charm.

The young staff were lovely but the hotel is very tired and shabby. Food/breakfast was good. The bed was very comfortable, but the bathroom needed the window open to let the steam out as there is no extractor fan. No where to dry the towels, they were still damp the next day! Room was not serviced during the three nights we stayed, we will not be staying again.

Needs lots of TLC. paint on ceiling, no room manual, poor fixtures in bathroom, poor shower. Built up mould in shower. Low quality pillows. Could do with new carpet. Staff helpful in morning during breakfast.

Very clean room and comfortable beds. Good breakfast and loads of free parking. Very good location.

Absolutely beautiful old hotel in a lovely setting. We have stayed before and we will be back as the rooms are so well decorated and equipped. We have stayed in so many hotels over the years and have never come across rooms so clean and the en-suite as well was immaculate. Staff are amazing and breakfast 1st class. Thank you for another great stay and we will be back soon.

Room 1.We Couldn’t get Internet-had mentioned this to a member of staff.Tv was covered in dust! Bed was too high with for some reason had two mattresses. Bottom one rustled as i moved. View from window not good-overlooked waste bins and square area that was messy. Bath had no handles on-my husband had difficulty getting out of it. Have stayed a few times over the years.

Very dog friendly hotel and enjoyed our stay rooms were comfy however cracked tiles in bathroom and slight mould on ceiling of bathroom which was a shame but lovely location and food and breakfast was cooked well and nicely presented staff very helpful

Stayed in room1 , large cobweb over the bed, noisy fan all through the night, bed very uncomfortable, so high due to two mattresses on bed for some reason. Freezing cold room when we arrived in the evening had to ask for heating to be put on. The room was run down and in need of decoration. No clean cups, water or refreshed tea bags on second day. View of the dustbins

Really big room, clean and comfortable. Perfect for our stay. Shower was really high pressure which was lovely. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room. For the price it was excellent. Breakfast was good and lots of it. The dining room feels a little dark but overall a great stay.

Lovely, quiet situation overlooking the stathe. Friendly, welcoming staff. No food served after 7.30pm. Room overlooked the pub/hotel garden so could hear locals chatting until closing time but it didnt affect our 1 night stay. Room was looking a bit tired but they are gradually upgrading rooms. Breakfast had limited choice but very tasty English breakfast and fresh coffee served. We would return.

We have stayed here many time but although the room had no faults and the service was excellent, our room was a bit snugger than usual. Room 2.

Stayed for only one night, had lovely large room with huge TV and spacious bathroom, standard breakfast.

Was comofortable. Everyone who worked there was lovely. I was above the games room and one of the nights. It was really loud. So much so that i couldnt hear the tv. You could hear eveybody coming through the door downstairs and in the corridor. The room was nice. A lot of resident ladybirds. Bed had sagged in the middle. Neverrheless. The price was reasonable. The service was excellent and rhe room was comfortable.

The huge smart TV was a little large for the room! Could have done with a wardrobe or portable clothes rail, perhaps using some of the floorspace in the vast en suite bathroom. Breakfast service was friendly and efficient. We had dinner on one evening, nice menu, friendly service but stretched on a busy evening. Good selection of beers in the busy bar with plenty of outdoor seating. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we wish the owners continued success as they strive to develop the business.

I paid surprisingly little for my overnight stay. The staff in the Reception and in the Restaurant were wonderful, welcoming and friendly. There was a tray stacked with hot drink options and a couple of biscuits and a mint, the towels (big and cosy), sheets and pillowcases all looked brand new. The bed was comfortable. The food was plentiful and all appeared to be from Bookers. Parking was easy and plenty of it and the situation couldn't be bettered and was just where I needed to be. There were some problems though. The batteries in the TV remote took a lot of encouragement to work - partly because the remote had lost its back, the duvet was amazingly thin and absolutely no warmth in it - a big problem as the heating went off and I woke up very cold and had to get fully dressed to keep warm (as the fire alarm went off at 3am this turned out to be a good thing - it was reset quickly but no one came to say all was OK. The toilet roll holder is broken, the toilets seat was very loose, the bathroom door frame is broken, tiles cracked in the shower, the carpets are terminally stained and revolting, someone had used the toilet before me and not flushed (!). Would I stay again? Perhaps and that because of the exceedingly nice staff and the situation BUT I would bring additional bedding and make sure that I arrived in time to request the room be recleaned and broken, damaged and missing things repaired/replaced. (TV reception was terrible but I only watched the news so didn't care)

Would have loved to have given a 5 star but it has to be 4 because the fire alarm went off at 5am and there was no one on site. It took half an hour for the manager to turn up and turn it off. And that was only because a neighbour knew who to call. They gave us a couple of free drinks the next evening but we had to ask. No apologies. The day staff didn't even know what had happened.

Lovely area by the river. Comfortable bed & good food. You have to ask if you want room made up as short staffed.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was warm and clean . Breakfast was very good and included. Had evening meal and it was excellent and as we was a hotel guest it was subject to a discount what a bonus. Will be booking again

Breakfast on the whole was exceptional but maybe the scrambled eggs needed some work, aside from that no complaints and the speed of service was excellent. Awesome location with views outside the property and staff are very outstanding. Hotel is currently being updated which is being done without minimal disruption to the guests. Highly recommended. Just make sure non transport guests please be aware of the local bus service because they are very limited (this has nothing to do with the property).

Booked the wrong date by mistake and realised straight away.Tried to contact property with no response, Hotels.com tried several times but to no avail.l was willing to change dates but to have no reply from this hotel I find quite bizarre. This may be a really nice hotel but their customer service is definitely not up to what you would expect.

I stayed here on a business trip: beautiful location, quiet, safe, well situated for exploring the area. Fishing, walking, cycling, boating are all available locally. Great Indian restaurant in the village.

Sutton Staithe hotel is a pretty little property close to the broad it has a pretty courtyard to the front. The interior of the hotel is quite oldy worldy,which we liked. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, nice comfy bed but furniture was a bit tired, otherwise it was great and breakfast was very good.

Food value, close to the Norfolk broads, good breakfast

Lovely hotel in a great location for visiting the Broads and Nofolk coast. Quiet location on a Staithe with a view of boats on the water nearby. The staff are very welcoming. It is super dog friendly. Excellent menu with really tasty food. Great breakfasts. Comfortable beds. Easy private parking. The hotel itself needs some decorating in places but they are aware of this and it is an ongoing work in progress. Would definitely stay there again.

The location worked really well, it is near to a boatyard where we were able to hire a day boat to explore the Broads. The food was excellent and the staff so friendly and helpful. A lovely relaxing stay, thank you.

Great view of the boats on the broad which the hotel is right beside. Great welcome, clean and comfortable bedroom and huge bathroom with a lovely shower. I ate in the restaurant two evenings and the food was excellent. Breakfast lots of choice of hot and cold selection, hot food freshly prepared to order. Would stay here again everyone was very friendly. Very good value for money.

The breakfast was excellent, everything we could hope for and more, the cups could be a little larger but it didn’t detract from the quality of the breakfast and facilities.

Nice place, lovely staff , service very friendly and nice staff. Food is really expensive but you are served great food Breakfast was good. Just need more choices e.g fruit, muesli, croissant etc

Great hotel, modern clean rooms, great food at dinner and breakfast and every member of staff we encountered was friendly, helpful and efficient. Would highly recommend
