Nice hotel, very clean and modern. Breakfast was good. Didn’t appreciate the $14.20 per car add on expense to an already expensive hotel stay per night! Not enough handicapped parking. Had to park in a parking garage across the street!

Stay here from time to time based on location, value and good experiences. Room was spacious and clean with a really comfortable bed. Bath was clean and bright. Nice fitness center and ample breakfast a good start to the day. I’ll be back!

Limited parking. Hotel was at capacity and cars were everywhere. They charge $14 per night to park and when I expressed concern that there was no parking, the staff had no options. I had to park on the street despite paying a fee at the hotel. Nobody ever came to clean the room, no towel service, no trash service for 3 nights. Breakfast was 6:30-9:30 but if something was out after 8:30 they never refilled it. Overall facility is nice but staff were unengaged at best or just outright rude. Do not recommend.

No hot coffee in the lobby and no air conditioning in the elevator or hallways.

The place is fairly new and well maintained except the dryer broke on us and we were left with a load of wet clothes we had to hang around our room to dry. My other con is that at night the parking lot fills up. We got back from dinner and there was nowhere to park. We had to wait for one of the staff to leave so we could take their spot.

Nice place to stay, parking is a bit difficult if you come in later in the day but overall very nice place!

The hotel was full when we have arrived. The AC in our room did not work and they couldn’t give us another room. Other guests were complaining TV did not work and again no resolution. The parking in front of hotel was full so we were pointed to overflow parking in the garage across the street for which we were charged $16.00 next morning. This should be definitely free or warned upfront.

Hate that you have to pay for parking and then have to park on the street across from the hotel. They shouldn’t charge for parking if I can’t park on the property

Parking lot is across the street if you're getting there late. - a sign outside would be helpful for people's first visit to this location. Rooms don't get serviced unless you specifically request it, but I guess that's normal anymore. Staff was super friendly and helpful! All-told, I'd stay here again

This was a huge disappointment… This location was overpriced to $750 per night for parents weekend at the University of South Carolina… While over priced I didn’t mind paying for a clean and convenient room. The bathroom was not overly clean… The shower amenities were pulled off the wall & laying crooked on the shower shelf and the shower stains on the bottom of the floor as well as on the wall. It just did not look clean at all. The water pressure in the shower was a trickle at best and we had four people staying in our room it took an hour per person to get completely washed, in addition, nowhere in the check-in or on the add from Expedia did it say this is not a full-service hotel meaning they do not clean your room or replace towels… We were gone for 12 hours on Saturday. It came back to our room and had no clean towels and the beds were not made. I went to the front desk and had to wait 20 minutes for the front desk gentleman to show up who was rude and said this hotel is not full service and you have to ask them if you want them to clean… This is completely absurd given the rate of the night for this location. The breakfast was also not well tended and very cold food. There was no water in the Cantina for sale and when I asked the lady at the front desk, she huffed and walked to the back and brought me one water bottle to purchase , all around this was a terrible experience made worse by the over price. Would not recommend and will never stay at this location again.

We were settling in and starting to make the couch bed and it was broken. We had to switch rooms which was fine but the room we were moved to was dirty. The drawers had sticky handles and there was yellow pee around the toilet. There was also something smeared all over the back of the bathroom door.

I was put in a dirty room moved to room 302 bathroom no hot water smell like mold mold around the shower would not recommend wasn’t offered a parking pass until I asked but I paid the $14 nightly fee came back in around 12am and was no parking !!!

The whole hotel was clean from the parking lot to the lobby and rooms. It was quiet and safe. Staff was great.

I found bedbugs in my bed.

I liked that my room and bathroom were clean. The staff was nice. The breakfast offered was good, average options to choose from. This is my second time staying there. I do like that there are a lot of options for dining nearby. I didn’t like that I had to pay a parking fee though which seems to related to the city Columbia (didn’t recall it from my first visit). Overall, a very nice stay.

Parking gets full, but they have overflow parking across the street in a parking garage. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Hair on floor and in the shower and on the soap dispenser in the shower

Cleanliness was lacking. Service was subpar. Decent location. Bed was comfortable.

Wifi kicked me off literally every 30 seconds. Front desk gave me a phone number to call, at which I got a recording to leave my number for a call back. I waited nearly an hour for that call back which did exactly nothing to help. College town chain hotel, you can do better. When checking out, the front desk asked me how my stay was, so I told her. I requested a refund of the parking fee as a gesture of goodwill and she said she would email me a reply from the manager, but it is now EOD and she did not. Perhaps most egregious of all is the polyester sheets. You can call them "microfiber" all day long but they are still plastic and always clammy and awful. Never, ever again.

Hotel is nice staff was nice. But whoever put a bunch of kids above my room that ran around all night and at 6am.

The staff were very friendly upon my arrival. My room was clean, spacious and very comfortable!

AC in the room didn’t work great which was pretty bad but other than that it was a good place to sleep for the night.

The air conditioning unit was not working. We could not turn off the air and were cold all night.

Myself and my 12 year old son enjoyed how clean and comfy our room was. Great view!! The staff were super helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. Would def recommend this place. One thing, parking was tight.

TV in room was not working, But we were relocated to another room. Originally I reserved a room with a king size bed and end in a room with double queen. No discount offered. But the front desk person was kind.

Spacious rooms

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel. I checked in around 4:15 PM on a Friday, needing to shower and change for an event at 6:00 PM. Despite having a reservation and the official check-in time being 3:00 PM, no rooms were available because they were still being cleaned. I waited in the lobby for 20 to 30 minutes until the front desk clerk unassigned a clean room from another guest who had not yet checked in and assigned it to me. After finally getting into my room, I showered and went to my event. Around 9:30 PM, while still out, I received a call from the front desk asking me to stop by when I returned because my credit card information had not been properly attached to my account. When I returned around 11:30 PM, I provided my card to a different staff member, who re-entered the information and re-scanned my key cards. However, at 1:45 AM, I received another call from the front desk, waking me up to say that my card was still not on file. This was the third time dealing with this issue. I went downstairs and provided my card again. The staff member explained that the previous clerk had incorrectly recorded a cash deposit instead of entering my card. The repeated errors and lack of proper communication from the front desk staff caused significant inconvenience. Being woken up at 1:45 AM for an issue that was entirely the hotel’s fault was unacceptable. The indifference and lack of apology were disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel.

Staff member checking me out was rude and unprofessional. Also charged me for parking, even after I explained that I parked on city street with parking meter and that the her colleague that checked me in specifically told me that I would not be charged by hotel (didn’t even give me parking pass).

The receptionist particularly Mr. Charles was really pleasant and caring.

We were so impressed by the staff at HI. They went above and beyond to resolve a minor issue. Everyone we encountered were so nice and helpful.

The location was awesome. The police station is in front of the hotel. Great walking distance to numerous places to eat. But the breakfast staff was very rude. An older woman I guess the cook, was griping and complaining at a team of young men that didn’t come to the breakfast area until 9:50am … and how she had no more food ready… and how she was “not” going to cook …she was loud and unnecessary. At another time she told patrons to stop walking up to the food and get in one line! Honestly she reminded me of the high school cafeteria worker...lording over the food tables, fussing and complaining… and the breakfast was cold.. we walked to IHOP.. Overall the staff was awesome … check in was seamless. Shay and the morning staff was very professional….

Outstanding staff for sure, and top notch kitchen breakfasts daily was outstanding served by friendly and kind individuals overall. If back in the area, or know of others in need of like stay in the area, would difinitely recommend.

They were so awesome during our check in. After coming from another hotel because of cleanliness and staff attitudes they were exactly what we needed to start our weekend.

First time visiting Columbia, South Carolina. This hotel was located close to everything. Quick check in and check out. Room was comfortable, great amenities. Complimentary coffee and water. Felt very safe since it’s right next door a police station, extra parking right across from hotel.Breakfast was good. Would definitely book here again.

Everything that could go wrong did. Arrived at hotel at 4 pm check in was. @ 3, room was not ready until after 5pm. We were not the only guests impacted. Upon return there was no handicapped parking which is a requirement for us. Breakfast was a disaster no food ready, no coffee cups. Took multiple trips to finally get fresh food at 930, started trying to get breakfast at 830 Shower created flood in bathroom requested at 11 to get a freshen up was told it would be a few hours. Upon return of activities at 4 pm nothing had been done. Contacted front desk they said they would let housekerping know WHEN they became available! At 6pm we requested fresh towels since we knew nothing else would get done. Parking that night same fiasco except overflow parking we were aware of, problem with card key had to come back to hotel to get it coded, still didn't work. Breakfast next day was a bit improved, still had to wait for fresh otems. Check out was best part of the experience. I explained all the issues and Sabrina was compassionate and said she would discuss with her manager. Not a repeat, maybe call before you plan on arriving to make sure your room is ready especially if with small children or elderly.

Hotel was clean, service desk pleasent. Room was clean, water pressure in shower very good and water was hot. Breakfast was offered on site, I found the food was not hot I reported to the kitchen staff it was cold oatmeal was like cream of wheat all water.

Breakfast wasn't avaliable first day as advertised...kitchen staff advised not making any hot options...cereal, bread products, cinnamon rolls, oatmeal and very ripe bananas were the "full" breakfast. Second day breakfast area not open...when questioned was advised staff didn't show up. Front desk clerk advised could email GM as resolution at that time. Also very small parking lot that cannot accommodate all rooms for parking so if you return late don't plan to have a confirmed place to park.

Front desk staff excellent. Breakfast staff was not pleasant, and kept asking guests to step aside for her to do her job.

There was not adequate parking until we had to go park in the overflow parking. Also is was only 9:15am and many items at breakfast finished and were not replenished. One of the reasons for staying here was the easy of a breakfast being included. This was a definite negative.
