Revival English Bay, Vancouver

Great location near lots of restaurants, shops, and the park. Hotel was quiet and checkin was easy. You do have to pay to park, which is about $20 a day.

Parking was a bit restricted but overall stay was great

There are some good things about this hotel, such as the location and a full, well-equipped kitchen, but there are also some significant negatives. The room was clean, but the balcony was filthy with bird poop, peanut shells, and litter. The layout of the hotel is very poor. We had to walk over 200 steps from the parking lot to our hotel room through a maze of halls. No luggage carts. When entering from the parking garage, if your room is on 3rd floor, you have to carry your bags up a flight of stairs as there is no access to an elevator from there. In an attempt to find a way out of the hotel without going through the maze, we tried to take a different set of stairs, and found ourselves locked in the stairwell. This was NOT marked as an emergency exit. There were doors to the mall and doors to the garage, but they were all locked and the door we came in through had no handle, no keypad, no way to escape other than go through an emergency exit that had an alarm. We didn't want to set off the alarm so spent about 15 minutes calling and sending chat messages to Sonder. and eventually an employee came and let us out. If we hadn't had our phones I don't know how we would have gotten out. I wanted to speak with manager about putting a warning sign on door. Told manager not in until morning. In morning, again asked to speak with manager. Got a message back that it could be 24-48 hours before I would get a response.

Overall the hotel was great. The room was roomy and clean but bathroom was pretty tight. Only thing that I concerned was the third-party parking which I paid $23 overnight. But it located in the same building.

There is no front desk, check in needs to be done beforehand. They charge for regular room service which is free in most of the hotels, there is no parking, guests should use the parking of the mall next door, overall it doesn't worth the headache, look around and reserve a regular hotel.

Easy Check-in; street parking was fine. Expensive underground parking at $30 per night

Sonder was clean, comfortable, and contemporary. Good location!! Very walkable to many restaurants, English Bay, and close to Stanley Park. Kitchenette and table/chairs was helpful for us with grocery nearby for our longer stay. Parking is adjacent, but is NOT included and rather pricey per day. There is no front desk. We had an issue entering on our first day as we were given the wrong code, which lead to quite a bit of frustration. Later we learned that there is someone on property to assist. She was helpful during the stay.

Have stayed in numerous Sonder properties and enjoy the set up. This was one where the guest cabinet in the lobby lacks some essentials. Conceptually the idea works however often is abused by greedy people who leave others short. Aside from that this property is great! EXPEDIA could enhance the details but that is often a shortfall personally when looking for certain amenities and location information above else

Appreciated keycode entry to facility and attached parking garage.

No luggage carts so if you have a few more bags then normal it is a bit of a hike from the parking garage and up a flight of stairs. Very clean and quiet. Will definitely stay here again

Located at a very fun area of the city. Close to small restaurants and in walking distance from English Bay. The hotel is well kept and modern. Howvever, the room was not very clean.

Chairs were disgustingly dirty, like they have never been cleaned. Very loud neighborhood in the early AM.

We had a junior suite. It was a good size. Functional kitchen. Balcony was dirty. No blow dryer or lotion in the bathroom. Elevator does not go to the parking lot level, so you have to carry your suitcase up one flight of stairs. Good location. Had issues with the parking lot communication.

Great location and facilities but when I dropped an earring found it was very dusty and quite a bit of rubbish under the bed. Both the side light in the main bedroom and lounge had loose connections and toilet flush loose . Coffee machine and microwave supplied but hampered from as no instructions and the latter was not obvious . Windows streaked with bird poo . Would have been nice for if cleaned .

Very nice suite with kitchen and private patio. Really a lovely place to stay. The only issue was the towels in the suite smelled strongly of smoke.

Essentially it is located in a rental apartment building above a mall with grocery and dollar store. There is no concierge. Nice kitchenette but would have to buy cooking oil, seasoning etc. We had a king suite but the room itself was claustrophobic, the pullout sofa bed was extremely squeaky, and the window was looking out to the the pickup roundabout entrance to the rental apartment, despite having Bonvoy membership and having booked a terrace view room. Rooms were renovated and clean but aging already. Tub was also stained and dirty. Mobile key also finicky. Better off typing in passwords instead of tapping.

Like the ease of check in unfortunately the shower bathroom was disgusting glob hair and old shower rubber stripping full of scunge I was compensated for this and the sent someone to clean it the next day otherwise it was fine and easy to contact although there overseas phillipines and I was in Canada but they were very friendly and helpful

Clean room, modern, well equipped, helpful staff, great air conditioning, quiet rooms, good location, good wi-fi, nice bathroom, comfortable bed & pillows, modern kitchen equipped with everything needed.

Property was generally well maintained and very clean. The bathroom led light bulb needed a change and the strips on the stairs to the lobby was loose. Room was very clean and had all the cooking utensils you would need for a quick cooking and etc. location was really good too

Quiet and great location. Not as clean as I would have expected/hoped upon arrival.

Room was excellent other than the fact the heating didn't work. Took quite a while to get in contact with someone and were given space heaters as they werent able to fix it before we left.

Great location! Right by English Bay, great walking paths and lots of restaurants! The room was clean but the walls are thin. Could hear people talking in the next room. Also, the blinds are not blackout, so did wake up at sunrise both days we were there. Not the best when travelling with kids, but fine if you're a heavy sleeper! Also would have appreciated some sort of laundry service on site. Whether it was included or we needed to pay separately. Would have been very convenient. Overall a fine stay.

We stayed at this location for a week while visiting. Pros: The location is fantastic as are the amenities nearby. There were no issues with the unit - everything worked well and was reasonably clean. Cons: The outdoor space offers little to no privacy. Being on the bottom floor, we needed to keep our blinds closed most of the time.

Spacious, clean, well appointed mini apartment. Quiet, yet close to busy Denman street.

The property is very central to various sights. It is walking distance to the beach, great restaurants, a grocery store, a dollar store and more. The rooms are a good size and nicely furnished. We had a cute, little terrace. We had initially booked a suite with a king bed and a sofa bed because we are a family of 4 but the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. I’ve slept on sofa beds before but nothing like this. It was about 4 inches thick and you could feel every spring in the mattress. I complained through the app and within a few hours they had given us two studio rooms. There was no going back and forth negotiating a solution; they gave me a few options and it was done. The bedding wasn’t the greatest quality, the comforters were very lumpy but other than that we had no other complaints. Be aware that housekeeping is on request at an additional cost. I would definitely recommend this place for a family but not a room with a sofa bed!

Clean room, comfortable bed and nice amenities. There were a few outlets that weren't working for the four of us, we had to try out different ones to see which ones worked charge our electronics. This place is different since it's all self service. You check in and unlock with codes. Self service for more towels or necessities. If you are looking for a hotel where you have human service professionals available to support you, then this place is not for you.

Close to the beach. The AC need did not cool off the room well.

Room had a smart TV which we appreciated and the kitchen was clean and well stocked. The cleanliness was acceptable however it could have been better. The main issue was it was very noisy with lots of loud humming noises and you could hear the road noise very clearly. They did provide earplugs however had i known this when booking i may have chosen to stay elsewhere. The blinds also werent that effective as they let light in from the business across the road. Overall it was acceptably clean, nicely decorated and well stocked, but the noise let it down.

We loved this place! The rooms were HUGE and had a lovely patio area. It was modern and super comfortable! The bed was extremely comfortable. Location was AMAZING, in the center of a lot of things yet, still very quiet. Check in was a little different, everything was done via the app but it was still really easy, the app clearly explained the process. If I’m in Vancouver again, Sonder is my go to and what I’ll be recommending.

Was excited at first given the daily rate was almost as high as hotels and the photos look great. But: - service was terrible and mostly self serve as the staff were terrible - it’s a particularly noisy part of vancouver especially in the early morning - would never recommend to another, especially for two weeks, but I learned So while I thought I’d give it four or five stars going in, I gave it a two for good reason John

Easy check-in and check-out. Clean and beautiful room with fully equipped kitchen.

This hotel was clean, comfortable and in a walkable area. On the down side, there is not a front desk or anyone to welcome you. Very impersonal. Guest arriving are required to go online, download an app, create an account with their app, provide ID, video your face to confirm your identity and then you are provided with a code to enter the building. This is the last thing I need when I drive all day and look forward to getting to my hotel. I will not being staying again and now am concerned about my personal information in facial recognition details in their app. Hotels should focus on welcoming their guest, not cutting corners to save cost.

Very nice area…safe! Did not like lack of communication when calling about a problem. Call not returned!!!

Quite noisy. No human support (provided a somewhat sterile atmosphere) Parking a little confusing at check in. Luggage had to be carried up stairs due to elevation difference between paking and hotel structures

No one told me that there are no check-in desk, on-site staff, or a concierge desk even though I spoke to two people prior to my reservation and arrival. And when we got to the hotel the front door was locked and when I rang the bell a few times no one answered or came out. I followed someone who scanned herself in and asked, and found out that their app has a built-in access key in it. Which is fine, but they should have communicated this (and the fact that it is a staff-less facility) on their advertisement, homepage, and during our phone conversation. I am a fan of future tech and innovation, but this just felt like a scam not letting me know beforehand. Never staying here again.

Great location, walking distance to many attractions.

The building is in Downtown Vancouver. We drove there and for extra daily parking fees were able to park our car in an attached parking garage. Honestly, we did a lot of walking because there were things to do and places to eat within walking distance. The unit was clean and quiet. We liked the security that came from having to use an access code to enter the building.

The location is unbeatable, with many restaurants nearby. The building and the suite are clean and well-managed.

Had everything I needed, lovely clean room. Comfy bed, everything worked as expected Great location near English Bay beach and Stanley park.

Excellent location near the West End shore, nice and modern neighborhood, spacious facility and room and progressive online process for checkin codes and access. Easy Uber and taxi availability. Safe and secure environment.

Close to the beach and many great food options

Quality of room was very nice, with comfortable bed with nice bathroom and kitchen. Good choice of restaurants close by and nice that beach is only a 5 minute walk away. We stayed for 4 nights and very pleased we chose this location to use as our base while exploring Vancouver.

We loved this property - so close to everything we wanted to do in Vancouver. We used public transportation to get there (easy) and even though our flight was delayed, we had no problem getting into our suite. This property is so walkable, close to English Bay, the sea wall, and Stanley Park.
