Highbridge Hotel

This property was exceptionally clean and well maintained! The suggestions for improvement - having a laundry room for guests to do laundry for extended stays and having an iron and ironing board in the room.

The Highbridge Hotel itself is excellent. The breakfast is good. Wish they had a microwave, iron and iron board in the room, and bathroom door hangers for clothes after taking a shower. The area around the hotel is run down, but safe if you’re used to a big city.

I liked the on site parking, which was reasonable at $30 per day. Parking is a premium thing in that area of New York.

The staff were super kind from the front desk people to the kitchen staff. I felt safe and comfortable in the hotel. And it was super clean. Wish there was better gym stuff but honestly the stay was perfect otherwise

If you're looking to stay in a hotel in the Bronx, this is where you want to stay. A look around the area may lead you to believe that this place would be mediocre at best, but you couldn't be more wrong. This hotel is nice and clean, the staff friendly and courteous, and the rooms comfortable. I appreciate how the front door locks after 9pm, and you have to use your keycard to enter. There's someone at the front desk 24/7, and they even have luggage carts and a storage room if you're a bit early and can't check-in yet. There was a bottle of water in the room waiting for me, and the room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was nice and firm, the water pressure was great, and my room had one of the hardest working mini fridges I've ever seen in a hotel room. The buffet breakfast was delicious and they had a good system for ensuring everyone had an opportunity to eat before breakfast ends. They have a gym, vending machine, ice maker, and wifi. I didn't get an opportunity to go to the rooftop, but just knowing that's an option is really cool. I was on the 1st floor and thought it would be kinda lpud, but other than people walking in/out their rooms, I hardly noticed any noise. They also have a private parking lot, which costs $30/day. You could chance street parking, but either you'll end up at a meter or somewhere where you have to walk a bit. All in all, a great experience and I would definitely come back again when I'm in the city.

I didn’t except there wil be a hidden fee that not listed nor obvious in the listing for extra charge of $30 for car parking at the back of the place , which made me give low rating on it , I was so excited to stay until that happened

Clean, great breakfast, friendly staff but I was a bit concerned that you removed the deadbolts from the guest room doors.

The property was very safe.really appreciate the security here. And the safe parking in the back lot . Also free breakfast was great.hotel was very clean. The walk too yankee stadium was nice and close. And pretty safe at night in my opinion. Will definitely stay here again.

There are 3 main concerns I had with this place. 1 - Parking 2 - most hotels have this latch you can place after you close the door so if someone has a key they still can’t get in but my room didn’t. It looked like there was one there but it was removed. When I spoke to the customer service person there they said sir we have a keyless system that’s why we don’t have that. I told them most hotels have keyless systems and also have that latch. Based on her face she clearly was young and hasn’t had any experience in the hotel business or world for that matter so my issue was most certainly falling on deaf ears. 3 - They charged $100 for incidentally but never gave me my deposit back.

I have been to a lot of hotels in my life but this one is definitely putting an extra effort to keep the room in a SUPER CLEAN state.

So it was nice until I woke up in middle of night and stepped on a tack. I started to bleed. Then after I looked. Under the bed for tack I found broken glass. Very dangerous.

This is probably the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Bed was very comfortable. Room was quiet.

We got a double room, and when I just arrived, the room had a weird smell, but then I opened the window and it was ok. But the room and the bathroom were really clean. The sheets were clean, and the beds were comfortable, firm, but not too soft or hard. The pillows were ok, but they could be better. The towels were very clean, and the housekeeping service was excellent. The hotel is very close to the subway station, but the ambience around the hotel is not the best. The options for eating are poor. We went to Checkers, and the meal was greasy and tasteless. We went to a place that sells bubble waffles and had a good experience! The banana-strawberry crepe and the waffle were great! Our room faced the street, and a residential building was just beside the hotel. We could hear some noise, but as the windows were double, we could manage it well. The breakfast is good considering they offered it without extra costs. I missed a grill and cheese to make hot sandwiches, and also other options of fruits, like bananas. The bacon could be of better quality. We stayed for 7 days, and I was getting a bit tired of the same options. Otherwise, we had a good experience and I would recommend it for the price. The hotel was full for the whole period we were there, I think.

The hotel itself is fine, but it's located in a less-than-ideal neighborhood with limited dining options nearby. While the room was clean, I was disappointed to find stains on the towels, which felt off-putting. I would only recommend this place if you're in a pinch, but I'll be looking for a better option next time.

The stay at this hotel was great. The staff was awesome. They was friendly, professional, helpful, and polite. The room was really clean. Cute designs on the toliet papers and a swan towel...you don't see that in hotels anymore. Actually the whole hotel was clean and it smelled clean as well. The hotel is near a lot of food places, a supermarket, few deli, and there is good public transportation like bus and subways. Of course there is car services as well.

Clean spaces, efficient and friendly staff, good water pressure, excellent breakfast for a free hotel breakfast, and free filtered water. Only downside was the bed was a bit firm and pillows were a bit lumpy, but we still slept excellent.

Check in was efficient, as usual. However, this is the 3rd time I stay here and there’s no heat in my room. The first time, I called and the guy came and told me to increase the temp to 80 degrees, which I did and woke up with a nose bleed because it was too dry in the room. The 2nd time I didn’t call the front desk and the manager wrote under my review that I should’ve called. So this time around I did: guy comes in and tells me to increase to 80 (must be a magic number). 30 mins later I had to call back because there was no change. All I got was a blanket, which was fine when in bed and under the blanket, but walking around the room was very uncomfortable. Breakfast was great as usual though.

Perfect for catching a game at Yankee Stadium. It was within walking distance, which was very convenient. The neighborhood felt a bit unsafe at night. The hotel itself had some downsides — a strong odor, and having to deal with an unfriendly front desk staff just to get Wi-Fi set up — but overall, it was a good stay. The shower had reliable hot water, and breakfast included hard-boiled eggs and fruit, which was nice and healthy.

We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. The cleanliness of the room upon our arrival was impeccable. The rooms are redone daily and the bathroom cleaned daily with daily towel changes, although the floors and furniture were not cleaned as frequently. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. The furnishings are not fancy and some of the furniture is beginning to suffer from use, but overall there was everything needed and in good condition. The rooms are sufficiently soundproof, even considering that our room overlooked the main street and the subway. It was too hot in our room, but the same is not true for other rooms. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to lend a helping hand. Breakfast is continental, and includes eggs (scrambled and hard-boiled), bacon and/or hamburger, pancakes and tater tots, oatmeals, orange and apple juice, various breads, yogurt and cereal, fruit (apples and oranges), Nutella and jams, butter, coffee, milk, tea. It is perhaps a bit repetitive but considering the level of the hotel and the fact that it is included in the price it is a great value. It is still plentiful and of decent quality. There is a hot and cold water dispenser. The hotel is a very short distance from two subway lines: the 4 and the B/D, both of which are very convenient for reaching the main attractions in a half-hour ride. The neighborhood where the hotel is located is quite popular but quiet: no kind of problems even during the night.

As other reviews have said, good breakfast! Room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Never had to wait long for the lifts. Close to the train station. Would definitely stay again.

Our hotel room was extremely hot and the air conditioning system was so loud. It felt like the room was shaking. Otherwise great people and staff and good breakfast. Close walk to the subway.

Hotel was above my expectations. Size of room was much larger than most inNYC. Lighting in room was very well planned. Bteakfast buffet was much more than expected.

Rooms are very small. More than 1 chair would be nice. There were two of us and one of us had to eat on the bed.

The stay was ok. The first issue I had was using the AC. It started making a loud bang that I couldn't sleep with the AC, and the second was that the chair in the room was very uncomfortable. I wish it had cushions

The hotel was clean all around. The fridge in the room would keep your items slightly cooler than ambient temperature. I could hear the doors of other rooms closing and cars right outside my window all day/night. I felt like they had absolutely nothing in the walls doors to reduce outdide noises. The free breakfast was slightly below average compared to other places i have stayed.

My stay was great from check-in to check-out. Check-in was quick and easy. I requested an additional blanket and received it right away. I stayed in the King studio Suite. The room was so very spacious and clean. I loved the lazy boy chair. The water pressure in the shower was so good!! The breakfast every morning was delicious!!! Your breakfast team (2 women, 1 man) were very nice and kept the area clean. They cooked the food fast and it was delicious. I love that they make fresh eggs, bacon, sausages, potatoes , mini pancakes and oatmeal daily!! I made sure to tip every morning. They deserve it!! The highlight for me was the free coffee all day and night!! I love coffee and it was so fresh every time. Shoutout to the cleaning crew, the hotel smells really nice and every time I left my room and came back they cleaned my bathroom so pristinely. My bed was always made. The front desk staff were very friendly and nice. I will definitely stay at Highbridge Hotel and have already recommended them to a few of my friends and family. The location is great! There are stores, restaurants, and transportation ( 4train, 35 bus) nearby. I’m originally from the Bronx but was here from out of town visiting family and Highbridge Hotel felt homey and relaxing, which is exactly what I needed for this trip. I’ll be back soon and thank you to your whole team for such a great stay!!

Great stay right next to yankee stadium. Free breakfast that they make fresh every morning!!! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to come back

The customer service excellent

Everything about the hotel seems to be in rush to make the next buck. From the waiter at breakfast telling me it’s only 30mins to eat my meal, while knowing that it may take 5 to 10 mins in line to get through the buffet line. And while you are resting up in the morning of your checkout, you get a call to remind you of your check out that’s about a couple of hours away. Please let your customer feel welcomed and comfortable.

Really enjoyed our stay at Highbridge Hotel. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They have maps to help with the area and subway. The breakfast is efficient and hardy! Small fridge in room. Beds were very comfy. And, really close to the MTA 4 subway line. Would recommend!

Helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is modern and well maintained. The room was clean, well kept, functional, and good size. The bed was large and comfortable. Housekeeping was good. Breakfast was good. Also free coffee, cold filtered water, and bagels available throughout the day. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the closest subway station, and a short ride to Manhattan. The neighborhood looks somewhat sketchy, but I felt safe walking to and from the subway station. Thanks for a pleasant stay.

Staff were very unprofessional. During check-in the two front desk employees were really preoccupied. Which seems completely work unrelated and all the staff I encountered during my stay was really unfriendly. Hotel randomly charged me two separate times without notifying me throughout the day after I had already paid for my room.

I was chasing homeless black guy after I parked my car on the street and I tried to run for life, even I tried to knock the hotel door, the front desk saw me not even open the door for me after he saw the guy not further followed me than he opened the door for me, it was very bad area Stay away from that area. I will never come back this hotel even for free.

Staff were always super friendly and helpful! Complimentary breakfasts were great, housekeeping staff kept our room totally spotless for the whole week we were there, the rooms included everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. This part of the Bronx was a bit of a commute from the other boroughs, but the hotel is very conveniently located less than 5 minutes walk from the 4 line. We (three women) came to and from the hotel at all times of the day, including very late at night, and never felt unsafe or uncomfortable. There was fast food and a small grocery store very close by; not a ton of shopping, but definitely lots of little restaurants. Highbridge Park (and the namesake High Bridge itself!) are within easy walking distance, and very pretty. Bronx Museum of the Arts is also within walking distance, and the NY Botanical Gardens, Bronx Zoo, Hip Hop Museum and many other things are 15-30 minutes away by train. Overall a lovely stay, and I would definitely recommend them!

The area around is not the best, but if you are aware, it’s nothing to complain about. In three minutes you can reach the metro an Manhatten is just a 25 minutes ride away. Breakfast is typical American, but still tasty. Especially good if you don’t want to search for Restaurants or Cafes as first activity in New York. Again, if you know what you booked, this hotel stands out. We were very happy and satisfied.

Nice hotel in the heart of the Bronx. Price is most of the time reasonable compared to others and it’s pretty close to transportation and the city.

Walkable to Yankee Stadium. Two subway stations nearby to get you to Times Square or Battery Park. Very helpful staff for questions about subways. Hot buffet breakfast. Neighborhood is unique-Bronx, but felt safe to walk thru during day, early evening. Would stay again to go to baseball game.

The area for the hotel is rough looking, use standard big city rules when walking the area. Proximity to the Yankee stadium is perfect. The security and parking lot at the hotel is well monitored. My family felt safe, the hotel was clean, and the staff was informative and friendly. We would stay here again to go to a Yankee game.

The room and the hotel don't look anything like the pictures. They are in a very sketchy neighborhood that is not safe and the ground floor rooms Windows look directly out onto a busy street with people walking by. We did not stay in the hotel. After checking out the room we immediately went back to the front desk, checked out and left the area. The entire building had an odd smell that was very off-putting

This property is close to the subway and yankee stadium, which is why we stayed here. Breakfast was provided, which was a plus.

The hotel itself was great. The property was super clean, they had complementary breakfast and free coffee and bagels the whole day. The rooms were big for a NY hotel and clean. It’s easy to get to the city and there’s a lot of stores around. However the surrounding area was dirty and at night looked very unsafe.

The overall Stay was pleasant, rooms were clean as well as hotel. However the breakfast was most terrible. The portions provided were not presented properly at all. Poor deportment. Area for food were all crammed on each other , space too small. Eggs were done scrambled as dry as possible with burn. Sloppy Breakfast at best. Overall a nice place to stay leaving out the breakfast.

Breakfast was very good, homemade scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, oatmeal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. it was great! We came on a Sunday so we found parking on the street for free. The subway is a short walk away with lots of great food options nearby. The front office worker was very patient and helpful w/ all our questions. I may stay here again later this week. Would recommend to all.

10 minute walk to Yankee stadium, safe area of neighborhood. Stayed 3 nights. The breakfast is awesome, not your typical free hotel lobby breakfast, seemed like everything was made from scratch. Orlando at the front desk gave a great recommendation for a Dominican restaurant in the neighborhood. Will absolutely stay here again for my next Yankees trip.

I've texted our experience already and don't want to rewrite it so I'll make this brief: it's affordable, has a great, hot alacarte breakfast, in a busy Hispanic neighborhood within walking distance of Yankee Stadium. The staff is friendly and the room clean and large and the price is affordable
