We had such a wonderful week in Lake James. Our house was very nice and had everything you'd need. The trail literally in the backyard that goes on for miles can't be beat. Plus the Linville Gorge a quick drive away for additional hiking. The lake was also great, so many fun different spots to get in for a swim or find great views. We will definitely be back to Lake James!

This cottage was wonderful! Very new. Very clean. Everything you would need and more. Beautifully decorated and many games and books are available. When we come back to the Lake James area we will stay At woodsy cottage again. We rented a pontoon boat and spent a day on the beautiful lake. Maryann Kulesza

Quiet safe serene $ very reasonable. You have WiFi tv woods lake. They’ve provided board games & even a cornhole board. Clean well stocked from bbq grill to pots and pans. Local establishments have excellent food & pickle ball courts. Also there’s a cash only market you can get fresh veggies cheese butter etc. You’re close enough to Morganton and close enough for hiking adventures like Grandfather Mtn…it’s very centrally located to enjoy some of the prettiest site NC has to offer.

The house was clean, new, well stocked, and well thought out. Communication with the host was quick and easy. She even texted to let us know the house was ready early. The location to the Fonta Flora trail is incredible. Will stay here again!

Updated, clean and well stocked property. This has the space you can spread out and enjoy your stay. Kitchen has enough space to cook meals and a grill outside. Is great option also on those hot days. Great deck on side of house gives you outdoor space to chill and enjoy outdoor dining. The driveway is a bit tricky pulling in but we had SUV and had no problem getting out. There was issue with power going out from high winds and lost power for water. Host contacted me quickly and reset the well pump without disturbing us inside. No issues with any of the amenities. Had a great stay here.

We stayed here to celebrate Christmas Eve and Day with my parents. The check in time was perfect as neither of us prefer to drive in the dark. The cabin was decorated for Christmas The beds were incredibly comfortable. We brought wood but the fire pit had plenty of wood. The hosts were readily available. 10/10 would stay again if available. r dark.

Our weekend was wonderful. The home is comfy & well equipped. For the most part we came to enjoy the outdoors. The trail out the back of the yard down to the lake is wide & nicely maintained. We also visited area waterfalls & hiked around Wilson Creek. On the morning of checkout the host let us stay parked at the cottage past checkout time, so we could go down to lake before leaving. Definitely an enjoyable property!

Fonta Flora and Lake James have some of the best hiking and biking trails around. We were fortunate to find a wonderful house, literally 50 steps away from the trailhead. We will definitely come back. The home was clean and well stocked.

There is nothing I could say negative about this place. Kitchen very nice and wonderfully appointed. Had all the basics you would need and then some. The whole home was very nice, clean and comfortable. Check in and out was a piece of cake. Briana was a wonderful hostess

This is probably the cleanest rental I’ve stayed in, even down to bedding and furniture. Super clean, just right for our family of 3. Great location for hiking and sight-seeing. My 2nd time staying in this home and would stay again.

We were in the area to look at property and needed a home base to venture out from. This cabin fit the bill perfectly. Its located in a great area that is private, peaceful, and easily accessible to the rest of the town. Its a great place to get away from busy streets and traffic. It was clean, comfortable, and very well appointed. Our dogs LOVED the yard.

The cottage was as described. It was the perfect size for our Christmas vacation. The cottage and property were very clean and had everything we needed. It was centrally located for all of our adventures. We especially loved that there was a Christmas tree set up when we arrived since we were staying over Christmas Eve and day. The whole family had a great time. We’d love to try it out over the warmer months and take advantage of the activities on the lake. Thank you very much. It was great!

Perfect, 2 bed/2bath. This midsize house/cottage was perfect for my grown son and me. I was happy with every aspect of this Location, very clean and quiet. I truly couldn't have asked for anything more. We came to fish Lake James and the Linville River, very easy to get to both from this location, there is a gas station and a restaurant right around the corner. I absolutely will be looking forward to my next trip here. A couple tips I would pass along, back in driveway off main road, and take it easy pulling up the gravel drive when you leave. Other than that, just sit back and chill or go crazy in the outdoors, there is so much to enjoy in this area for all ages.

We had such a wonderful week in Lake James. Our house was very nice and had everything you'd need. The trail literally in the backyard that goes on for miles can't be beat. Plus the Linville Gorge a quick drive away for additional hiking. The lake was also great, so many fun different spots to get in for a swim or find great views. We will definitely be back to Lake James!

Upon our arrival, this house turned out to be even more than what we expected. It looked brand new, was super clean and located close to everything. There is a trail right next to the property so we got in a great 5 mile hike by Lake James with our pups.

Quiet safe serene $ very reasonable. You have WiFi tv woods lake. They’ve provided board games & even a cornhole board. Clean well stocked from bbq grill to pots and pans. Local establishments have excellent food & pickle ball courts. Also there’s a cash only market you can get fresh veggies cheese butter etc. You’re close enough to Morganton and close enough for hiking adventures like Grandfather Mtn…it’s very centrally located to enjoy some of the prettiest site NC has to offer.

We were in the area to look at property and needed a home base to venture out from. This cabin fit the bill perfectly. Its located in a great area that is private, peaceful, and easily accessible to the rest of the town. Its a great place to get away from busy streets and traffic. It was clean, comfortable, and very well appointed. Our dogs LOVED the yard.

Our son got married at Rose Haven Venue on Lake James. We needed a place to stay that was close. This house was perfect and very close to the venue. It was very clean and met our needs perfectly. I would stay there again.

Absolutely awesome house. So clean, it felt like we were the first ones that ever stayed there. Close to everything that is cool and having the trail next to the house was incredible. Would love to stay again!!

Really enjoyed our stay at the “woodsy cottage.” It was quiet and peaceful. We had all that we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfy, the location was a short drive to Lake James access. I would stay here again!

Perfect, 2 bed/2bath. This midsize house/cottage was perfect for my grown son and me. I was happy with every aspect of this Location, very clean and quiet. I truly couldn't have asked for anything more. We came to fish Lake James and the Linville River, very easy to get to both from this location, there is a gas station and a restaurant right around the corner. I absolutely will be looking forward to my next trip here. A couple tips I would pass along, back in driveway off main road, and take it easy pulling up the gravel drive when you leave. Other than that, just sit back and chill or go crazy in the outdoors, there is so much to enjoy in this area for all ages.

Brianna was a great communicator! The property and house were lovely and clean. It was in a great location. Lake James was 5 minutes from the house. Hiking was 5 minutes away. Definitely will come back!

Our stay was great. The cabin was cute clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting out on the porch having our coffee.Its really a beautiful spot with a nice walking trail right by the property!
