La Cale - waterfront property

We stayed for one night with my family, the property is right off the main road (Cabot trail). There is some traffic noise but it did not bother us. The rooms and beds were comfy. Kitchen is stocked with basic supplies if you want to heat up/ make something. We only stayed one night and did not need to use the kitchen. There are a few restaurants nearby as well as a Coop where we picked up some essentials for our road trip. There are laundry facilities with detergent provided. Bathroom was clean and had shampoo and conditioner, but was out of soap/ bodywash. It was not an issue for me as I was carrying some. One unusual thing in the bathroom was the window curtain did not go all the way down and only covered 3/4th of the window. Since this window faces the bay, it was weird to not have full privacy. We just hung up a towel over the window, so it was not a this major concern. A few hooks to hang towels/ clothes in the bathroom would also have be useful. The zodiac whale watching cruise is located right next door and was super convenient as we had booked this excursion. Parking is available next to the property. There is a short boardwalk next to the property, where you can stroll and watch the boats and the sunset. Overall the location of the property is great and it is excellent value for your money for a few nights stay in Cheticamp. A few minor additions/ changes would enhance the experience.

It’s a convenient place to stay and they had everything we needed!! A comfortable bed, coffee, a TV that worked, washer/dryer, and a refrigerator with ice trays. Just what we needed!!

This place is cozy(small) and charming. We enjoyed watching the boats from the back porch. We did feel the kitchen was not as fully equipped for cooking in. Maybe a baking dish salad bowl/ serving bowl etc?The location is great for the Cabot Trail leading to some spectacular scenery. All in all a good stay in an old fashioned coastal village

Exactly what we were looking for as a base for exploring the Cabot Trail. Everything we needed nearby, close to the best part of the trail and awesome that we took the whale watching tour right from the parking lot.

Great location. Walking distance to several restaurants and right beside the pier. Two good sized bedrooms with a full kitchen and even had in suite laundry. The front bedroom is right beside the road but the traffic was minimal during the night and didn’t keep us awake. We did hear the upstairs renters come home really late. This had all the necessities and comforts of home. We would stay here again.

This apartment is a great place to stay if you're doing the Cabot Trail. Close to restaurants, gas and other conveniences.The place was nicely docorated. We loved having access to a washer/dryer in house so we could get set for the second half of our trip. Will note that you need to be careful in the shower. It needs a gripper pad as its extremely slippery.

Great location in centre of town. Watched the sunset over the dock. Clean and well appointed. Comfortable sitting areas inside and out. Cute decor. Colouring books for the kids was a hit.

A cute apartment that was very clean inside. We wanted fresh air, so I'd prefer more screens and clean windows. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, even had some spices to use. Comfortable bed. The pictures do a good job describing the place

The apartment was just as described. Clean and easy to locate. Great accommodation.

Nous avons passé un très beau séjour dans cet hébergement. La communication avec la propriétaire était facile. Le logement très propre à notre arrivée. Les consignes sont claires et nous avons pu avoir le logement plus tôt. Nous étions 4 adultes. Le logement est un peu petit si vous désirez y passé un long séjour. Nous avons séjourné 2 jours et c'était parfait pour nos besoins. C'est bien situé sur la Cabot trail. Nous pouvions se rendre à pieds à plusieurs restaurants et à une dizaine de minutes en voiture du parc National. Le seul point négatif que nous avons remarqué et L'insonorisation du logement. Nous entendions très bien les voisins.

Enjoyed our stay in Cheticamp. Apartment was perfect for our family of four. Very clean and updated, nice view of the wharf. We wish we had book a few more nights

The apartment was very clean and well appointed. The kitchen is very spacious,well equipped and has excellent appliances. I highly recommend this property.

Very clean with the exception of under the furniture ie couch and chairs. Bathroom window requires full length curtain - 2nd floor neighbor has full view of shower/tub from balcony. All cleaning, both personal and general, ie laundry and kitchen, shampoos and conditioners were very well stocked and appreciated. Would highly recommend.

Quick one night stay at the beginning of the Cabot Trail! Property is right on the Cabot Trail Road and in front of the marina. Perfect for what we needed. Bit offended by the ‘tip’ jar. We paid a cleaning fee, a service fee and the overnight fee. Bathroom needs a bit of love - bathtub caulking was a bit ick and the extraction fan disgusting. But those things aside bed was comfy, had all the amenities needed and close to many food options! Appreciated the washer and dryer for sure!

Road was very noisy in the morning but the location was very good.

La Cale was a great stay! The house was sparkling clean and beautiful. Everything you could have needed was thought of. Extra towels, linens, coffee, tea, and kitchen items. Stephanie and Joleen had many great suggestions of places to visit and eat. 5 minutes from the Cape Breton National highlands park for full days of hiking and great views. Great communication answered messages quickly. Street is a bit noisy however being right on the marina is lovely.

Everything was as shown in posting. View of Harbour a bit obstructed by sailboat being worked on. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Location for Cabot trail visit and closeness to whale watching tours make this a good spot to stay for 4 people

The apartment was perfect: beautifully decorated, fully equipped, comfortable beds, delicious coffee, and close to everything. The host shared several tips on places to eat and things to do. If traveling through the area again, I’d definitely stay with JS again.

The La Cale property was a great accommodation for us .. 2 senior couples. Easy access to the community of Cheticamp. Lots of information provided by the owners of activities, places to shop and eat

Excellent location in Cheticamp near restaurants n places of interest. Very clean and easy communication with our host. Would definitely stay at this location again.

There was no communication with the host. We received an automated message regarding house rules, I responded with a question on how to check in, never got a response. We got to the property around 10pm, there was nothing there, the only way we were able to get in was knocking on the door of the neighbor who was nice enough to share her experience and help us. I messaged the host twice after and never received a response. The front bedroom got a lot of street noise and the second bedroom was next to the bathroom so it was loud in the morning. Would not recommend.

We celebrated our silver anniversary trip in Cheticamp and stayed in this charming, waterfront apartment. This rental was perfect, adding a blend of a maritime heritage with modern taste. It was clean, quaint and offered a spectacular view of the fishing pier. As a snow crab capital, it was an honor watching the work boats and crew unload tons of crabs each day, with the option to purchase directly from them! Joeleen is a wonderful hostess and very friendly. She was prompt in answering all of our questions and made us feel welcomed. We highly recommend this rental and would stay here again!

For 2 couples travelling together, the accommodation was excellent. We appreciated the well stocked cupboards and access to the Park and the community. The only problem I had was with communication through VRBO when I tried to ‘reply’ to messages. We would stay again.

Great location to drive in and out of Cape Breton Highlands NP but also be close to restaurants, grocery, shops. Perfect kitchen to cook meals in. Nice view of the marina and pretty sunsets. Clean. East arrival and departure. Perfect size for our group of 3
