If you want to save $500 a night after tax and fees, stay here—it IS-15 mins from the very nice Long Branch beach, but on a weekday when traffic isn’t too bad and parking can be had for free (just two blocks from beach), this place is a great value play. I would not recommend it on the weekend, because it will take forever to get back and forth to the beach and parking is tough, but it’s great for the weekday beach trip and the icing on the hotel cake is they have a very nice, clean and quiet outdoor pool. Right on the beach was $700/nt all in and this is a better room for $160/nt all in.

The room was in great condition and clean. The property itself was very clean and across the street is a deli, pizzeria, and Apple Bees. A short drive down the road is a Dunkin Donuts and walkable is a 7-11. The downside to the property was the pool’s filter was not working and the pool did not look like it was properly treated (it looked like it was green).

The hotel was convenient and reasonably priced. It inexplicably has a $5 parking fee which isn’t typical for suburban hotels but is disclosed on Expedia so it is what it is. The staff was polite and efficient and everything was pretty much what you expect for the pricepoint. The only real issue we had was that the room smelled like mildew even with the fan on the ac unit running continuously. It wasn’t bad enough to ask for another room given that we were just sleeping and heading out but if we were staying longer we would have. There were also some rowdy guests making noise after midnight but the management was on top of that from what we could tell—handling it quickly and adding some signage about expectations.

Hidden Gem! We located this hotel last minute. What a jackpot! The hotel, grounds, rooms were beautiful. The staff was so attentive and friendly. The room was spacious and bed comfortable. The outside area had nice tables to eat outside. The pool was good size and clean. The hotel is located 15 min from long branch beach. And 5 min from every restaurant you can imagine. If u want to pay the $700 a night oceanfront hotels then go ahead but if you do not mind a 15 min ride to the beach this is a perfect place! Def coming back!

We had a great stay . The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable,clean and quiet. Thank you for the very nice stay. The only complaint was I wish the outdoor pool had been a little cleaner. Just needed skimmed a bit more, other than that great stay. Will definitely be back again. Thanks.

It was a great stay for the night with my boyfriend. Little did I know when checking out, I got charged $5 and change for parking! Nobody said anything to me while checking. My boyfriend said he saw cars having passes. Where was ours? Why didn’t anyone offer it?

No maid service. We were all told it was a ‘policy adopted during Covid’ as if that was a good explanation. Covid crisis was 4 years ago and wouldn’t you’d think they’d clean MORE not less? It was so dark in the hallways and rooms it was creepy. Pool broken all weekend. Crappy bathrooms, not enough towels it was literally just a place to throw your bags but got over $400 a night-it was very disappointing.

The hotel is aging and the rooms are unclean. We changed rooms since the first one smelled of dampness. The second room wasn’t much better. There was an odor. The A/C barely worked, the room was very warm. There was not any housekeeping so we had to empty our own trash. The front desk staff were rude. Upon check out there was no one there. Then when he came he refused to give me a copy of the bill which I needed. He said it would be emailed. I still haven’t received it. We stayed here before and the place has gone down hill. Would not stay here again.

Hotel was dirty. Garbage cans around the facility were overflowing. Bugs on the ceiling of our bathroom. Dust all over lamps in our room. No complimentary breakfast. Most of the staff did not speak a lick of English. Had to ask for the free coffee crafts to be filled up every morning. Did not see one staff member picking up Garbage or cleaning anything. I would not stay here again. Place is a dump. They need to get staff that have pride and care about the appearance of the place. Very sad that people have horrible work ethics and get paid.to.do absolutely nothing. Its a disgrace.

I couldn't connect to the wifi - not sure why but the staff tried really hard to help. They even called some service number they had but we just had no luck. I was pleased with the amount of assistance I received and that I saw others receive from the front desk.

Overall was okay. Would stay there again since most of the things encountered were fixable or easy to deal with in this case: • The room was supposed to have a double bed in the pull out sofa, but it was only a twin. Fortunately, only one person was sleeping on it, and they weren't too tall for it. • The sink in the room took a very long time to drain out. They came to address it while we were out of the room, but it was still the same afterwards. • There was mold in the iron, which they also promptly addressed first thing the following morning when housekeeping was back on site. • During the day, the building vibrated enough to where it felt like a very snall earthquake. But upon checkout a couole of days later, saw that it was construction out front that we weren't made aware of at check-in. • There was black stuff coming out in the shower after first turning it on at some point on the second day. Only happened once. After seeing the construction, realized it was probably due to that since they were diggin up the ground or something like that on the property.

This hotel is basically a good value, and we've stayed here several times, visiting family nearby, while other hotels in the area have increased their prices above our means. We usually get the basic room with two beds (double or queen) and are grateful to still have a decent hotel in this area, within our budget. However, the bed is too high for me. I am a senior with knee issues and I can't "jump up onto the bed" like someone younger can. I actually had to bring a step-stool from home this time, as I remembered this problem from our last visit. Even my husband, who doesn't have mobility issues, has trouble getting up on the bed. Well then, perhaps we should get an accessible room? Are the beds lower? I don't know, as we haven't tried that yet. And that is because the price is approx $30/night MORE than a basic room. I don't understand why people with mobility issues should be charged more for a comfortable room than those without issues. I just wish I could be a little more comfortable on my visits.

This hotel is nice enough, it worked for our stay. The room was clean and well furnished. The bathroom was large and clean. The bed was comfy - but it was so high, I had trouble getting into bed. I am a senior, just 5' tall, and I literally could not get onto the bed! I finally took the bed closest to a wall and had to push myself up with my feet against the wall. Why are hotel beds so high. I'm not a youngster who can jump up onto the bed. If I ever stay here again, I'll either bring a step stool with me, or perhaps an accessible room would have a lower bed?

Great hotel. Clean, quiet, convenient for getting to our concert venue. However, the check-in process on the day we arrived was awful. When we arrived at 4:20 there were 4 people ahead of us and only 2 staff checking in guests. By the time it was our turn there were 7 people wising behind us in the lobby and outside to check in. Two guests almost got into a fight over the wait. And the manager disappeared.

A great place to stay. I chose it based on the good reviews. It was clean and comfortable. Hailey at the front desk was very welcoming. When returning for the evening and inquired about hot tea she even made some for me! Next time we are in the area, I will stay again!

After traveling 454 miles for a family reunion we were told we had no room. OVERBOOKED!! We booked one month in advance. We called the hotel halfway there to report traffic was bad and that we were still coming. We were told “no problem”. We just had to arrive by midnight, and we arrived a couple of hours before that. The front desk kept us waiting while they tried to find us a nearby vacancy. Finally they said they had a vacant room that they could clean for us. What happened to “OVERBOOKED”? Thank you for putting us through this Sonesta Tinton Falls. Never again! If you can’t do your primary service properly, you shouldn’t be in that business!

I couldn't connect to the wifi - not sure why but the staff tried really hard to help. They even called some service number they had but we just had no luck. I was pleased with the amount of assistance I received and that I saw others receive from the front desk.

Late night staff could be a little friendlier. Did not provide any information about property and amenities. When asked got short one worded answer and seen annoyed by question. No bedding provided in room for sofa bed and the mattress was old with no cushioning. Overall property was clean. Morning staff was much friendlier.

Staff cared more about charging me $15 dollars because I arrived at 3pm rather than 4pm and charged me $15 for early arrival which is ridicules. Never have I had a hotel charge me $$$ when having such a late check in. Won’t stay here again. Staff weren’t pleasant.

I stay at this facility on and off for business. The rates will vary in one days time and on this past experience doubled. This past trip was just plan disappointing! Twice the hotel staff entered my room with very little notice by knocking and then entering before I could even get to the door before housekeeping entered and then at 7:44pm an evening staff member also knocked and two seconds later three people entered my room and abruptly left when they realized I occupied the room. Yes! The do not disturb sign was on the door. In fact it was never removed! The hallway air conditioning was broke making the elevator and hallways absolutely miserable to find relief from the heat and humidity except the room itself. Proceed cautiously when booking.

It was quiet and front desk was nice. Dog friendly close to the beach about 15 min away. Rooms were clean and updated. Hallways were slightly darker than usual with poor lighting. Walls were a little thin so you could hear your neighbors sometimes. Overall it was a good price for a summer stay by the beach etc

Stayed one night after attending an event in the area. It was off season so it was quiet. Hotel had everything you need and it’s convenient to the highway. Applebees is a short walk next door.

Hidden Gem! We located this hotel last minute. What a jackpot! The hotel, grounds, rooms were beautiful. The staff was so attentive and friendly. The room was spacious and bed comfortable. The outside area had nice tables to eat outside. The pool was good size and clean. The hotel is located 15 min from long branch beach. And 5 min from every restaurant you can imagine. If u want to pay the $700 a night oceanfront hotels then go ahead but if you do not mind a 15 min ride to the beach this is a perfect place! Def coming back!

They advertise breakfast is served every day but the dinning area was closed on our first morning. The person at the front desk said it wouldn't be open until Saturday morning then charged us $20 dollars for two terrible small coffee's and two bagel CHIPS from a vending machine area. A sign on the bathroom mirror states you must ask to have your room freshened and clean towels. Nothing was freshened, beds not made, and yes I had to call to get clean towels. Saturday morning was $40 for two egg and cheese sandwiches. I paid over $500 for two nights through expedia and seen now that the rooms at the hotel website are much less at $200 - $300 for two nights. There was short black hairs under my pillows also. The only good thing was how quiet it was and two staff members were very nice. The rest was awful.

This is an older building with a very recent renovation. The rooms and common areas are all in excellent condition. The bathroom fixtures are new. The bath/shower area was older tile but newly grouted. The facility is clean, well-lighted, and has no unpleasant odors. The elevator's interior is older but in excellent condition, and it operates smoothly. Our only complaint is that there was no breakfast on our first morning. "The chef didn't come in today," is what we were told. However, it's Jersey, and you're never far from a great diner breakfast.

Main problem is they had No Breakfast any of the days. Also didn’t even have coffee available in the lobby on one of the days. The mini-fridge could not regulate the temp. Everything you put in it would freeze. Fortunately nothing exploded.

Website advertised breakfast but it was not provided. Front desk staff said the website was wrong. Phone woke us up every night about 1am beeping like the receiver was off the hook but it wasn’t. Room was adequate but patch work on the ceiling was sloppy like a slumlord job. Turning on the shower was frustrating and difficult. Low water pressure.

The hotel was properly staffed and clean. We were disappointed the breakfast was not complimentary and was very expensive to our mind. $30 for a breakfast sandwich for two ppl is excessive. Might stay again as it is convenient.

Everything was clean and fairly updated. Outside patio looked like it would be fun in the summer time! Very basic room but the bed was comfortable and shower nice and warm. Gym was fine and had a water cooler. The only downside was the advertisement of breakfast options. It's always a disappointment to not have continental breakfast but on top of that they have a huge and cozy dining spot with a breakfast bar with little to no options. It costs money too.

Check-in was frustrating, staff was unwelcoming, and although we arrived at 1pm, we were told rooms wouldn’t be ready until 4pm. We were eventually allowed to check in early, but only after paying a fee. Rooms were fine, though missing linens for the pullout couch (quickly resolved by housekeeping). The worst part was the “bistro.” We chose this hotel partly for the on-site dining, but when we arrived at 7:30am, it was closed, despite being told it would be open from 7–10. Worse, the assistant GM, Brian Smith, rudely informed us we couldn’t even sit in the common area due to a private reservation. As a 6U hockey coach and team manager who will be traveling to the area frequently over the next decade, I can confidently say I won’t be staying at this Sonesta Select again thanks to Brian.

The Tv and the lights didn’t work, we didn’t have extra toilet paper or a do not disturb sign. and when we got to the hotel we were on the first floor and the window was unlocked!!! so unsafe! I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels cheaper then this place for better, there was not one thing i was satisfied with. I had to go get my own blankets and pillows because this place was so nasty! I really hope i’m able to get part of my money back because this was ridiculous!!!
