Wind Drift 102S by ALBVR - 2BR, 2BA Beautiful Upgraded Beachfront Condo near Flora Bama, Outdoor Pools and Tennis Courts

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Was told it was often possible for units to be clean/ready before 4pm checkin. I texted at 3:50pm saying I still hadnt gotten a door code yet. Simple and snarky response of “Checkin is not until 4:00”. However before checkout, had the audacity to ask me if I was leaving early so they could clean early. No.Upon arrival there were no parking tags, not a single one (even more frustrating when you have to pay those extra parking fees). Contacted rental company to be told “just wait for them to be refilled sometime & grab one then”. Sofa bed linens had not been cleaned- looked like dried chocolate on them. Door jam between living room & master was not attached to floor and kept sliding around all week. Smaller bathroom tub had duct tape from a previous “repair”. Pool deck never appeared to be cleaned (same dirt and grime all week) & guests were regularly using the pool net to clean the pool themselves.Unit is also directly across hall from the elevator- noise and light in smaller bedroom all night long.

We stayed at Wind Drift 301 in July. This was our first time visiting Orange Beach so we didn't know what to expect. Our group included my elderly parents and 3 older teen kids. We had a great time. The condo itself was well stocked, clean, and comfortable. We had no issues at all during our stay. Communication with the host was easy and responses were quick and checkin was simple. We never waited on an elevator and barely even shared with anyone. This end of the beach is pretty laid back especially since we were there on a holiday (4th of July). The parking lot does fill up quickly and parking across the street isn't ideal, but the crosswalk allows crossing almost immediately. The boat slips across the street were well maintained and we walked over there too take a look when we had to park on that side. Overall, I would recommend this condo and would stay there again.

Did not like paying for parking and then having to park across the road from my condo because there were not enough parking spaces

We planned a family fishing trip at Orange Beach. This condo location was great and close to everywhere we wanted to be. Will book again. Only draw back was no code for the gate when we arrived. However, our booking manager was able to work it and we received a code soon afterwards. Our 10 yr old son loved it! The beach was not flooded with people and so close to the room.

Great property, nice amenities, beautiful view, nice kitchen, good bedrooms and bathrooms, great beach, nice pool. Great location for relaxing family vacation at the beach!

The condo was great! Very spacious! Having essentially 3 master bedrooms gives you so much privacy when traveling with other couples. The kitchen is large for a condo in my opinion and was well stocked for cooking. The best part is the built in ice maker in the cabinet! Game Changer! I almost never want to rent another condo without one. We had no issues with the elevator and they were never backed up and crowded. We really had no issues that we needed to contact any one about. The only cons: Parking. When we arrived late Friday night both parking lots were full. The parking lot to this condo and the overflow parking across the street. We were forced to either park in a handy cap parking spot or a fire lane. There are several parking spots that you cannot get into if you are driving a truck, Tahoe, Yukon, etc. This issue however is not a reflection of the property owner or the condo itself. We were not out late any of the other nights so it was easier to find parking but I know I saw several cars not in parking spaces and people crossing a pretty busy road at night because they had to park across the street, so just something to consider. The room with the bunk beds does not cool as well as the other 2 rooms. I would recommend bringing a fan if you are a hot sleeper. The other 2 rooms however will freeze you out. Both of the occupants in the other 2 rooms were looking for extra covers at night.

I knew there was suppose to be some repairs going on, but the first morning around 7:00 a.m. we hear air hammers and drill saws for an hour or so. We could not even hear the TV or talk to one another. A piece of the furniture looked as though it needs to be at the homeless shelter it was torn and ripped on both sides I did notice when photos were taken you could not see all of the chair. It was terrible. The floor was sticky in some places. The glass door was filthy. The elevators were down for hours. I had to go up and down 4 flights of stairs. I am 71 my husband is 75. Very hard and harmful to my body. Could not get into the outside storage door,lock would not work. Needed to have on site office to help with problems on hand. The best thing is the water was beautiful. Has to be a lot of changes before we will return. Too expensive for this experience.hour or so.

Once we cleared up the issue with the gate (owner of rental group actually came out himself to help us) everything was good. Bed was comfortable (we like a more firm bed), unit was clean, and perfect location for beach and shopping.

We had a wonderful stay at Wind Drift. The beach was beautiful and clean, the water was crystal clear, and the unit was comfortable and welcoming. The pictures were accurate, and the view from the unit was even better in person. The neighbors were all quiet and respectful, and everyone was kind. There was ample parking available and we had no issues for the duration of our stay. We hope to be back sooner rather than later!

We should have been told about the outside maintenance going on while we were there. Scaffolding on our deck wasn’t the view I paid for. We should be given a discount. Not enough parking and the entry gate was difficult to get through. Would not stay there again. Very disappointed.

We were not given the checkin code ahead of time and I couldn't reach the property manager finally VRBO was able to reach them after multiple attempts. I also messaged 2 days before checkin asking for an early checkin and never even got a response. The inside is nice enough but the furniture and rugs are worn and dingy. The walls and ceiling in master bedroom/bath have dust hanging off them and mold growing on ceiling shower. For the price we paid I expected better. We still had a great time and the location/beach is wonderful. They just need to do a deep clean and consider replacing furnishings as they get dirty.

The property was superb! Very clean and the view from the balcony is great.

Perfect location, the beach wasn’t busy and was easy to access. Kudos to the cleaning crew! It was a very clean unit, linens and towels smelled fresh and everything was in place. The owners provided boogie boards which the kids loved. We didn’t utilize them this time but they also provided games in the living room. The lack of a deadbolt on the front door was quite alarming. We had to check it from the outside once we realized it doesn’t automatically lock upon closing. Overall, the condo buildings seem pretty well kept for being dated.I would return but would choose a different unit that not everyone with the code could access.

This was our first visit to Orange Beach. My husband and I were traveling with family. We absolutely loved this condo! The balcony overlooking the gulf was wonderful. We lived on the balcony when we weren't out and about exploring the area. The furniture on the balcony was very comfortable, as was the furniture in the condo itself. The kitchen was very well stocked; all utensils and cooking essentials were provided. The condo was very clean and well maintained. Perhaps the queen and bottom double bunk mattress in the second bedroom could be replaced (but I realize how firm a mattress should be is definitely a personal preference). The management team was very responsive to my inquiries. They were pleasant and professional. We would definitely stay at this condo again. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more! We stayed in this condo the last week of September and it was great. Beach is not over crowded. It is beautifully decorated and very clean. It has everything you need.

First off, location of the condo was great. The unit itself smelled musty, moldy and damp. One of the bedrooms had sand in the sheets and we had to wash the sheets. The kitchen was minimally stocked and the dishes that were stocked were broken, chipped and cracked. The place was dirty. I reached out to Beachball and they said they would send someone over to look. I asked that we be given time and date so we could be in the unit. Imagine our surprise at walking in from the beach to find a lady that spoke no english and a child. The unit was terrible. Very disappointed.

The unit was clean and as described. The process for access was easy and the location was great. We will stay here again next year if available.

This isn’t the first time we’ve rented from VRBO, but this unit and previous rentals always need a lot of work. I feel that this place and previous rentals are treated like red-headed step children. In my experience the properties are treated like rental income/investments for the owner. Below is a list of things we experienced. If I owned a beach property, I know I would take a lot more pride in my home. - Washer/dryer door off the tracks-we put the door in the front closet so it wouldn’t fall on anyone walking in the door - Garbage disposal not working-had to call 3 times-when maintenance came previous renters had put glass in it and clogged it up - No wine glasses/enough ware-need a run of dishwater-glasses-measuring spoons etc -?Light bulbs not working(we’re working-people had untwisted…but cleaning people didn’t bother to turn back on) - There was hair left in bathtubs - Main clock not working - Corner lamp not barely working - All comforters are stained and could use washing - Could really use 2 double beds in front room Monday: - Never called us/returned call about garbage disposal… - Bar stool support leg is broken off chair (on at least 2 bar stools) - Lock box outside is rusted open and keys available etc (we would want to know) - Dish network tv not working-need better instructions for which tv remote to use eyc -Main bedroom dresser handle is off The location of the condo and access to the beach is great. I fill that either the support staff that manage this property are more worried about turnover in the summer and not willing to fix the little things because it might take the condo off the market for a day or two. I enjoy the convenience of VRBO, but the property owners and whomever else is managing them aren’t doing you guys a favor by keeping the property updated.

The kitchen was well stocked, but some dishes were not completely clean. The overall cleanliness of the condo could have been better.

We love staying at Wind Drift because of the location. It is a short walk from the condo to the water. We also love that it doesn’t seem as busy as a lot of other condos. There’s no building next to it, so you have lots of room to spread out. My only complaint is that this room had some areas that needed to be deep cleaned and the rugs were pretty dirty. Loved the ice machine and my kids LOVED the bunk beds. Overall it’s a great unit.

We had a wonderful time at Wind Drift! Our room was clean, nicely decorated, and had a beautiful view of the beach and water. The location is great with easy access to Flora Bama, Louisiana Lagniappe, and other restaurants and shopping. We would love to stay there again!

Great location, quite, right on the beach. Rooms very spacious. Well kept and clean. Only draw back was shortage on necessary supplies. Only one trash bag, and one roll of t-paper per bathroom. Wifi wasn't working first night and unable to contact management until after weekend. Overall great place.

Love the location of this property! Beach area is never crowded & it’s easy to get most anywhere! My only 2 very small complaints would be the pillows are very flat. I wish we had brought our own pillows! And there is no tv in the secondary bedroom (listing states there is one).

Condo was well stocked and very clean. Plenty of towels. With kids, loved having washer and dryer in condo. View awesome. Needing some updates when it comes to age of some of the furniture and more importantly, the second bedroom mattresses and beds. Fine for kids, but squeaky and uncomfortable for adults.

Enjoyed everything about the condo. Nicely decorated and the best pillows ever. Sitting on the balcony was extra special with the variety of furniture. We highly recommend this unit.

The property/room was beautiful. Just couldn't get the satellite to stop buffering long enough to watch any TV. Totally missed family on American Idol because of the satellite.

During our stay the condo was clean and easy check in process. During our stay they were drilling on the concrete underneath us. Management failed to inform us and it was also unpermited work being done. Drilling and vibrating such an unbearable noise waking up my 1 year old. They told me they would give me a credit of $125 and i've not seen confirmation of that. As a result of the drilling the building was evacuated due to potentional collapse. While they set up another place to stay. My family and i were too shook up to stay and we drove home that night. I see now they have deemed the building safe after saying potential collapse. Due to circumstances I wouldn't feel safe to stay again.

We loved staying in this condo! The beds and furniture were VERY comfortable! The kitchen had everything we needed. The master bedroom fan was not working, but they sent someone out to check on it. And there was a box fan we could use. Other than that little hiccup, our stay was wonderful!!

We love the Wind Drift SW. Great condo, had everything we needed plus extras. Have been staying there for vacations at least the last 35 years. One minor problem this time & it was taken care of by noon the next day. The beach is so accessible. Close to the restaurants we enjoy. Extra fun things included in our condo rental. It’s our favorite place to stay in Orange Beach.

Got to the location and had no text about the door code. Did receive the gate code and had an offer for an extra night. It was very stressful because we had five grands with us. The cleaning ladies were there and offered to call the manager for me. I received a call and was told I had not signed the lease agreement. I did that before along with a copy of my drivers license. We sat in the lobby and I did this again.

Easy access to beach, very clean, beautiful ocean view, quick access to surrounding restaurants, shops, bars, etc.

The location of the property is very conveniently located to restaurants and shopping. And, the view is spectacular!

We were down for Spring Break and it was a great experience. Not very crowded and it was a great place to bring a family with children. Will be staying here again in the future if it’s available.
