The living room is really cozy and has a smart tv. It has a full kitchen with an island and Tupperware for any leftovers you want to keep in the full size fridge. This is actually my second time staying here. The host cleared the back entry porch and sidewalk when it snowed. It was a great place to stay. I can only speak for the winter spring time, but you can see Lake Superior from the upper bedroom and a little bit from the porch, and living room. They have some games and I believe a puzzle or two. Also there is a table runner you or the kids can color with the markers provided! :) I liked all the plants as well. Centrally located if you want to go downtown or up 61 to see water falls. Hospital is nearby if you are there to work at the hospital.

Nestled into the hillside, has made a very cool historic home into a lovely space inside and out! If you appreciate the care and dedication that goes into modernizing a 150+ year home, you will love this adorable space. The outdoor space is amazing as well, with a grill fire pit and gardens galore. The house is squeaky clean and has e everything you’d need to function away from home. We loved our stay at Amber’s place and have already booked it again for next summer!

We had a great time staying here! The house was very clean, had everything we could need, and we loved all the handmade pottery and all the houseplants around. It gave it such a fun vibe. We were surprised to learn the owner was staying in the basement unit, it seemed that should have been mentioned in the listing. But the place was great, we played quite a bit of cribbage and board games around the table, the outdoor patio area seemed like it'd be really nice for the summer, and the location was great for all the local spots we wanted to check out.

The living room is really comfortable and has little fold out tables if you decide to eat and watch tv. Big dining table, full kitchen. It is a really old home with a lot of charm. I loved all the little rabbit and the black and gray squirrels that come out every morning (I’m sure less likely to see them in the middle of winter. The owner is very responsive and nice. We didn’t hear anything from her except when we needed another key. Has a nice little deck and garden in the back. Good place because it encourages hanging out together downstairs. Definitely recommend.

Overall it was an adequate stay. It was a cute house within walking distance to the canal district. We felt like it wasn’t the nicest neighborhood with nighttime sounds from the neighbors that kept several in our group awake at night. On one walk to the canal district we went down the street closer to the hospital and encountered quite a few transients. Some of which approached us asking for food/money. As mentioned by other reviewers the owner lives in the basement but that wasn’t a problem at all, we could barely tell she was there.The house has a lived in feel with quite a bit of personal effects in the cupboards and family photos on the wall. It felt like we were visiting grandmas house who was out for the week. The decorations were cute but dusty.

We loved the house, but we probably won’t stay there again. The house was super cute and has everything we needed, especially in the kitchen. We loved the outdoor space and The bathroom seemed clean and updated. There are two rooms upstairs and one on the main level which with younger kids didn’t work that great for us. The stairs are very steep and the bathroom is on the main level. But the rooms were nice and had everything we needed. One downfall what that there seemed to be someone who lived in the basement. We think this because we heard music coming from the vents all day. It wasn’t too loud-but it was there. I guess we weren’t aware that anyone else was in the house. And even though they were separate we felt awkward and like we needed to be quieter than we would have felt in the house by ourselves. Overall the house and location were great!

The house is super cute and has tons of character--the backyard and garden are great, too. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds comfy and the kids enjoyed Netflix during the rain. There's so much within walking distance and getting in and out by car was fine (a bit more complicated with construction, but not a big deal), and the Positively 3rd Street Bakery a few blocks away is amazing and the Chester Creek area was lovely for a little light hiking.

It was a very cozy home with enough sleeping places for all 6 of our party. The one thing I didn’t realize is that owners have a separate place they stay in (essentially the basement). It had an entirely different entrance and we never actually saw them so it’s like they weren’t even there. But we didn’t expect there to be “quiet hours” (11pm) due to the booking being a house. As a bunch of young adults hanging out on New Years weekend, we had late nights hanging out and having fun. That being said we definitely were up and hanging out long past 11:00 pm and we never got any complaints from the owners, nor did we ever see them so it really didn’t hinder our experience, just surprised me is all. About the quiet hours, maybe that was stated elsewhere in the booking information and I didn’t see it. Still overall a great experience!

Communication with owner was great, we asked for Iron, she brought us iron, I asked for a bike lock she brought me a bike lock. That was very nice of her. I believe she does live below the rental. We were there on a VERY hot weekend. Temps were >90 degrees everyday. This home has AC window units in 2 of the 3 bedrooms so one room was left without AC which was warm. Everything else was as advertised and if you plan on being out and about in Duluth this would be a good place to stay.

Nice classic home to stay in. There is a coop grocery with deli close by. Easy walk to downtown and the lake area. Stairs to the bedrooms a bit steep, but manageable as long as you are mobile enough.

We had a great time staying here! The house was very clean, had everything we could need, and we loved all the handmade pottery and all the houseplants around. It gave it such a fun vibe. We were surprised to learn the owner was staying in the basement unit, it seemed that should have been mentioned in the listing. But the place was great, we played quite a bit of cribbage and board games around the table, the outdoor patio area seemed like it'd be really nice for the summer, and the location was great for all the local spots we wanted to check out.

Really enjoyed staying in this historic property! Close access to everything. Could get pretty much everywhere on foot or a short drive. Great time of year to be up on the Shore as well! Prompt communications with the host throughout our stay.

It was a very cozy home with enough sleeping places for all 6 of our party. The one thing I didn’t realize is that owners have a separate place they stay in (essentially the basement). It had an entirely different entrance and we never actually saw them so it’s like they weren’t even there. But we didn’t expect there to be “quiet hours” (11pm) due to the booking being a house. As a bunch of young adults hanging out on New Years weekend, we had late nights hanging out and having fun. That being said we definitely were up and hanging out long past 11:00 pm and we never got any complaints from the owners, nor did we ever see them so it really didn’t hinder our experience, just surprised me is all. About the quiet hours, maybe that was stated elsewhere in the booking information and I didn’t see it. Still overall a great experience!

Communication with owner was great, we asked for Iron, she brought us iron, I asked for a bike lock she brought me a bike lock. That was very nice of her. I believe she does live below the rental. We were there on a VERY hot weekend. Temps were >90 degrees everyday. This home has AC window units in 2 of the 3 bedrooms so one room was left without AC which was warm. Everything else was as advertised and if you plan on being out and about in Duluth this would be a good place to stay.

Being right in town, we were able to take the Lake Walk to Canal Park. Tamara was wonderful host and was quick to respond when we had to reach out. She also recommended a couple places nearby with creeks and waterfalls if we wanted to hike. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone and will plan to stay there again next time we travel to Duluth.

We had the things we needed in the house and it was comfortable but did not realize the owner was going to be in a separate basement apartment while we were there. It wasn't a problem, just unexpected.

Great location. It felt very homey and had a lot of extras in the kitchen that would have been great if we would have stayed longer. We didn’t realize the owner lived downstairs, though that wasn’t really an issue; just unexpected. Overall a great stay.

Overall it was an adequate stay. It was a cute house within walking distance to the canal district. We felt like it wasn’t the nicest neighborhood with nighttime sounds from the neighbors that kept several in our group awake at night. On one walk to the canal district we went down the street closer to the hospital and encountered quite a few transients. Some of which approached us asking for food/money. As mentioned by other reviewers the owner lives in the basement but that wasn’t a problem at all, we could barely tell she was there.The house has a lived in feel with quite a bit of personal effects in the cupboards and family photos on the wall. It felt like we were visiting grandmas house who was out for the week. The decorations were cute but dusty.

Without construction, the location of the house is very accessible. The house itself had so much charm and character, very clean and quiet too. I'm looking forward to returning for a longer stay!

Nice classic home to stay in. There is a coop grocery with deli close by. Easy walk to downtown and the lake area. Stairs to the bedrooms a bit steep, but manageable as long as you are mobile enough.

The private backyard garden was beautiful and accommodating. The house is old and has sweet charm. The 2 queen bedrooms are up a flight of stairs and the bathroom is downstairs which was not an issue with us. I travel with my 89 year old Mom and for her this matters.
