Bed Bugs and Dirty SheetsOur stay at this rental was extremely disappointing and honestly unsettling. When we arrived, the property did not match the listing photos. The backyard setup shown in the listing was not there — the deck was missing, and there were no patio cushions, which made the outdoor space much less usable than advertised.The bigger issue was the cleanliness. The sheets were visibly dirty and covered in hair and debris when we arrived. We contacted the owner right away, but it took hours before anyone brought clean sheets, and even then, only one set was provided. By that point, we had already gone out and purchased our own sheets because we did not feel comfortable sleeping in the beds as they were.Two days into the stay, we found bed bugs. At that point, we checked out immediately because we were not willing to risk staying there any longer or bringing them home with us. This completely disrupted our trip and added a huge amount of stress, extra work, and unexpected expense.What made the experience worse was the lack of meaningful help afterward. Despite the serious issues — dirty bedding, inaccurate listing photos, and bed bugs — VRBO did not help us secure a full refund. The host is presented as a Premier Host, which makes the condition of the property even more concerning.This was by far the worst rental experience we've ever had. The listing did not match reality, the cleanliness was unacceptable, and the bed bug issue made the home unlivable.

This was a great place to stay in st Charles. The only issue we had was that when we showed up, the windows were open (weather was great) but there were a few windows without screens so we had to battle with a couple of flies inside that night. Otherwise very cozy and everything was as advertised. No troubles with check-in or check-out. We’ll probably be back next time we’re in town.

Great location. Great owner. Very clean inside nice and cozy
