Property was amazing as were the hosts. We stayed for a week and had family and friends over the course of the week. It was a perfect venue with a large kitchen to gather with anything you could possibly need (including a drawer full of spices in case you forgot something ;), a game room for hanging/playing games, and the living room has a large TV and surround sound with a huge sofa so we enjoyed watching a movie or two. There is a Sonos sound system that covers every area of the property which was awesome since we do enjoy our music! The outdoor amenities are THE GREATEST. It was winter, so couldn't enjoy to the fullest but can imagine what a score in good weather. We used the awesome firepit, horseshoe pit and hot tub! The outdoor bar is a great space, but it was just too cold to be far from the fire. Same for the lighted volleyball pit but there is so much attention to detail in all of the amenities. Everything was easy and comfortable. The hosts were super attentive and helpful. Thank you, Emma!

Endless opportunities for activities (games, etc.). Warm refreshing pool (even in October!) Emma was very sweet and helpful - awesome recommendation on the coffee shop! Outdoor kitchen area was nice. All areas of the home were extremely clean. Being able to log in speaker system was a definite plus. Enjoyed the back yard spaces, which were together yet separated for various activities. Secluded and private. Beautifully decorated.

We had a group of 16 ages ranging 9 to old.. when we entered the home there was a snack tray, s'mores box, and Shirley temples for our group. Dance party music was playing on the speakers throughout the house. ( This was targeted towards our kid/teens which we requested) The kids had their own bunk room that holds 9. The house was so clean and has everything you can imagine. We used every square foot of this house. The hot tub and pool were used from sun up to sun down. We had pool tournaments and ping pong tournament. We had a warm fire and s'mores on the outdoor patio. We were all able to cook and share meals sitting at the same table together. We rang in the new year all gathered in the huge living room. We could not have asked for a better time.

Deep Woods Escape is the place to go! We never left the house cause there is so much to do there. The heated swimming pool was the biggest hit! Absolutely loved the enclosure around it cause we had rain and wind for 2 of our days. On our good weather day we played a lot of volleyball, smoked some pork steaks, hot tubbed it for awhile and roasted up some marshmallows in the evening. We appreciated the fence around the yard for our little ones too. This was our family girls getaway and our ages ranged from 6-63. We didn’t want to leave! One of the kids sadly said “I guess it’s time to go back to reality”. We will return again! Thanks Emma for ALL of the extras you supply, no other vacation rental does what you do!

This house goes way above and beyond for comfort and charm! Everything was top-notch from the welcoming charcuterie board with local meats and cheeses to the outside tiki bar. Especially liked that our group of 13 could all sit at the dining table and enjoy our meals together. So many extras were provided: grill, smoker and wine refrigerator in the tiki bar, a large, covered outdoor pool, sand volleyball court, pool table and ping pong table and so much more! Our group loved staying here so much that we never left the property over the long eclipse weekend. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming! I highly recommend staying at Bauman's Deep Woods Escape!

The backyard consisted of a volleyball court, an outdoor bar, a hot tub, excellent seating space, horseshoe, and a bathroom. The inside space comfortably fit 23 people with the three provided rollout beds. Downstairs, the bar and recreational activities were a great time. The upstairs kitchen was very organized and the dining area was very spacious. Would definitely rent out this property again.

I have rented many homes since the 1990’s and this is easily one of the best. If your looking for a place that can handle many people, lots of space and plenty of room to play, have fun, and cook this is the property you need to consider. It has three kitchens. The main kitchen has more than the customary cooking utensils and gadgets including multiple ovens, mixers, toaster, crock pots, baking supplies, along with all the little gadgets to make preparing and serving a meal for a large group of people quite easy. It is also very secluded so you can stay up late and the pool and hot tub is open 24 hours a day.

THIS PLACE! I honestly can’t say enough about how amazing this home was. And the owners! They missed nothing. Every comfort and amenity that you could think of was available and provided. If you’re looking to get away for a family vacation, an adult trip, just a weekend with your spouse, 💯% recommend. My family of 12 (ages 8mo to 43) had so much fun with the ping-pong, pool table, the pool, outdoor kitchen with smoker, horseshoes, badminton and fire pits with s’mores, listening to the whole stereo system and just focusing on being present and having fun. The beds were comfortable. The pool was very warm. The kitchen has everything you need. Literally everything was top notch!

This is our second time staying here and we love it! The kids and adults both enjoy the pool and hot tub, as well have having our annual ping pong tournament and sand volleyball games. S’mores at the fire pit is a great way to end the night. The cabin has all the amenities/supplies you will need for your trip. We will definitely be back!

The pool was a huge hit, and with six kids under ten, the ability to cover the pool when not in use was great. There are bathrooms (and towels) galore! And oh, so many refrigerators! Plenty of room for the "way too much" food and beverages we brought. The kids LOVED the bunk room, and were so tired out from swimming, playing in the sand, and eating s'mores around the fire at night, that they hit the sack without complaint. That enabled the the adults to enjoy sharing family stories while the fire burned down. Everyone commented on how comfy the beds are! This is our second stay, and although the Deep Woods Escape can accommodate many more people, it was the perfect size to give us lots of room for "me time" while offering inviting spaces for family time. The compound has ample parking and is private, woodsy, rustic, very clean, well-appointed, and comfortable!

We have stayed at this property for several years now. It’s beautiful it’s clean. They show you how to turn everything on and everything off. What the Ladd girls like best about it, fits us perfectly, there’s plenty of places for everybody to sleep. We love having the private pool right there that we can just walk down to not have to share one with a bunch of other people I can’t rave enough how we really really enjoy staying there. The Cozy rustic atmosphere to the fully equipped kitchen and the uttermost pristine facility all the way down to the tidiest bedroom sets and bathroom towels, while being able to dwell in a nice soft cozy bed at night. You can’t beat a better Christmas vacation stay. The family gathered on the main level, While the noise is muffled from the kids downstairs. For a large family that we have, there is lots of real-estate for the fun activities and recreation that we all participated in. Nothing but SATISFACTION & 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had an incredible time at the Deep Woods Escape! the home was spacious, clean and loaded with extras. Our family really enjoyed all of the home…we played sand volleyball, swam, made s’mores at the fire and did evenings in the hot tub. The inside was equally impressive. The bunk room was great for the kids and they loved playing pool and ping pong in the lower level. We made so many great memories we will cherish! Thank you, Emma, for being so great to work with and for having such a well thought out home.

We planned our First Christmas Staycation at this beautiful property for 8 adults and 8 children (from 1 - 16)! This place is the best ever!!! Upon arrival, I was greeted by Joe whom was very accommodating and personable and showed me around to explain all of the extra special amenities! We certainly enjoyed the Sonos Music System as well as the locally made sausage, garlic cheese and wine! What a nice surprise! We had more than enough room for everyone to be comfortable! We stayed for 3 nights and everything was perfect!! The amenities that are provided by Emma and Joe are absolutely second to none as there was nothing that they didn’t provide!! Thank you for decorating for Christmas as it was extra special for us The entire property, inside and out were well equipped and super clean! We all enjoyed not only the home but the outdoor area with hot tub, fire pit, outdoor kitchen, sand play area, horse shoes and of course the glorious covered and heated swimming pool … everything was awesome! There was so much at our “resort” that kept everyone entertained including the pool table and ping pong inside as well as all of the games provided! I would highly recommend this awesome experience to anyone that is looking for PERFECTION for your next get away, this is the place! We stayed at the property for a long weekend for my 30th birthday celebration in February. Emma was amazing to work with! From greeting us and showing us all the ins and outs of the place beforehand so we had minimal to zero questions through the weekend to letting us text/call with any issues. The heated pool and hot tub were clean and perfect even during the cold weather. All the rooms and bathrooms were clean and had everything you wanted in them. The outdoor kitchen and grill were amazing to have and we used a lot. The place has everything you could need and want for a weekend away to relax and have fun. We are looking forward to another trip!

This was our fifth year renting from Emma, and our first time staying at the Deep Woods Escape — and all we can say is WOW. This home is nothing short of incredible. For the first time, we had a dining table large enough to fit our whole group, which made mealtimes feel extra special. The "dorm" room in the basement was a huge hit with our family. Everyone who stayed there raved about how cozy and private it felt — once you were in your nook, it was easy to forget anyone else was even in the room. It was the perfect solution to finally ditch the air mattresses! The outdoor space was equally amazing. We gathered around the fire pit every single night, even in the middle of July — it was such a memorable way to end each day. Emma always thinks of everything, and this house was no exception. From a well-stocked kitchen to an abundance of pool towels, we had everything we needed for a relaxing and fun getaway. With daily (and nightly!) swimming, those towels were key! All in all, another fantastic vacation thanks to Emma. We can’t wait to come back!

Our family of 13 fit into this home like a glove! Plenty of together time at the gigantic kitchen table and living room, and plenty of time to be off on our own to read & relax on the front porch, back porch, game room, outdoor kitchen or pool. We got lucky with the weather and swam every day as a group with plenty of pool toys for all. The babies & 3-yr-olds were worn out at days end! Also watched a beautiful storm move through from the large, comfortable back porch. The owners are wonderful!!

Seven couples rented this Deep-woods property and we had the extra bonus of snow having fallen the night before adding a little more beauty to this property! Even though it’s winter, we probably spent as much time outside as we did inside as we gathered around the fire, in the hot tub, and snuggled up on the deck in soft cozy blankets laughing and chatting about all kinds of things. We enjoyed cooking in the fully stocked kitchen and there was room for all of us to do prepping around the extra large granite island. There is nothing Emma didn’t think of including in this kitchen. All kinds of spices, pots pans, everything you will need to prepare your meals. We also enjoyed the awesome coffee bar area each morning and all of us having all our meals around the the huge dining table that actually was two put together that seated our group perfect! The table is actually two individual tables that are nestled together and we took apart several times for all our game playing so that we were closer together to throw dice etc…So this table could seat so many more than our group size with all the extra chairs stacked closely and neatly against one of the walls. The fireplaces were great and put out nice heat as we enjoyed watching a movie and sports at different times. The bedrooms and bathrooms all worked out well for our group size and we could have had another couple sleeping comfortably on the twin bunks. Again Emma provided soaps, lotions, all kinds of extras in the bathrooms and comfy beds and bedding. We couldn’t have asked for a better place or a better weekend getaway! We absolutely enjoyed our time and hated to see it come to an end! There are wineries and breweries close by but we decided to stay in and enjoy all the great amenities this beautiful property offers! Look no further, book this, no way you will be disappointed!

We held our family Christmas here. 13 people, 7 adults and 6 children. We spent 6 days here. People played pool, ping pong, games, swam and we grilled outside. This house has everything you would in your own home! One day I hosted our huge family gathering of 40+people, plenty of room, it was nice outside and inside and once again everything is provided at the house. I would recommend this house to everyone. We booked for a long Girls weekend and we couldn't have been happier with the property and amenities. The location and home are beautiful and so well equipped. We literally couldn't have asked for anything more while we were there. Emma met us on site and went over all the details. She was wonderful to work with. We stayed with a group of friends over the superbowl weekend. We have stayed here before and we loved it just as much the second time as we did the first. The owner makes things easy for those who stay from her communication with you to the checkout process. The amenities are amazing. We had a great time and we will stay again!

This spot offers everything that you can ask for and more. We celebrated a 40th birthday with 8 couples but it is also ideal for families with children of all ages. There are endless entertainment options both indoor and outdoor. Emma is great to work with as well. She is very informative and helpful from before we arrived and even while we were there. We had one small issue, however, she was there within minutes and the issues was resolved. We scheduled the Ste. Genevieve Trolley to pick us up and drop us off at the house for the winery tour throughout the beautiful wine country. Would highly recommend this as well. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and entertainment.

My family had the most amazing weekend! We range from ages 2 - 64 years old and it was a wonderful time for all! Joe and Emma did an incredible job, not missing a beat when building these properties and when welcoming their guests. Everything was so perfectly thought of! The place is beautiful and you have every single thing you could need. The added touches make it even more special. The kids kept telling us “how amazing this place was!” And thanking us for bringing them there. It’s like your own private resort and we loved being tucked away in the woods! We hope to make it a yearly stay cation! We have stayed at both houses, and whoever walks through either property will be blessed and have the greatest stay! If we could give it 10 stars we would! I have been bringing my family here for the past 6 years are we are currently planning to come again next year for our 7th year in a row. The secluded location of the property and all the different amenities are amazing and have provided years of memories for my family. We've searched to find similar properties in the Midwest and haven't found anything that compares to what the Hillside Hideaway offers. To make things even better, the owners are great people and we enjoy talking with them every year when we come.

Most well stocked kitchen/house/outside place we’ve been. Nothing forgotten by Jemma properties. 13 of us from ages 7-78 and we all enjoyed our Friday-Monday private oasis. We don’t leave after we get there until checkout time. We cook, bake and grill and never at a loss for a skillet or pan. 2 refrigerators and the industrial ice maker keep us cooled off after hot days playing in the sand court badminton (took our own) and pool days. Beds are comfortable and Emma quickly responds to inquiries. Trying to get our next trip back planned as we left.

Our group loved staying here so much that we never left the property over the long eclipse weekend. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming! I highly recommend staying at Bauman's Deep Woods Escape!

Last year or whole family stayed at Hillside Hideaway and had a fantastic time. This year we decided to try Deep Woods Escape and we definitely were not disappointed. Everyone had the best time ever. The pellet grill and the outdoor kitchen were constantly in use. The pool couldn’t have been more perfect. We could barely get the grandkids out to eat or go to bed. The house was gorgeous and the accommodations were perfect. Emma was always available to send a text to if we had questions. Hope to go back someday.

I have rented many homes since the 1990’s and this is easily one of the best. If your looking for a place that can handle many people, lots of space and plenty of room to play, have fun, and cook this is the property you need to consider. It has three kitchens. The main kitchen has more than the customary cooking utensils and gadgets including multiple ovens, mixers, toaster, crock pots, baking supplies, along with all the little gadgets to make preparing and serving a meal for a large group of people quite easy. It is also very secluded so you can stay up late and the pool and hot tub is open 24 hours a day.

Seven couples rented this Deep-woods property and we had the extra bonus of snow having fallen the night before adding a little more beauty to this property! Even though it’s winter, we probably spent as much time outside as we did inside as we gathered around the fire, in the hot tub, and snuggled up on the deck in soft cozy blankets laughing and chatting about all kinds of things. We enjoyed cooking in the fully stocked kitchen and there was room for all of us to do prepping around the extra large granite island. There is nothing Emma didn’t think of including in this kitchen. All kinds of spices, pots pans, everything you will need to prepare your meals. We also enjoyed the awesome coffee bar area each morning and all of us having all our meals around the the huge dining table that actually was two put together that seated our group perfect! The table is actually two individual tables that are nestled together and we took apart several times for all our game playing so that we were closer together to throw dice etc…So this table could seat so many more than our group size with all the extra chairs stacked closely and neatly against one of the walls. The fireplaces were great and put out nice heat as we enjoyed watching a movie and sports at different times. The bedrooms and bathrooms all worked out well for our group size and we could have had another couple sleeping comfortably on the twin bunks. Again Emma provided soaps, lotions, all kinds of extras in the bathrooms and comfy beds and bedding. We couldn’t have asked for a better place or a better weekend getaway! We absolutely enjoyed our time and hated to see it come to an end! There are wineries and breweries close by but we decided to stay in and enjoy all the great amenities this beautiful property offers! Look no further, book this, no way you will be disappointed!

We held our family Christmas here. 13 people, 7 adults and 6 children. We spent 6 days here. People played pool, ping pong, games, swam and we grilled outside. This house has everything you would in your own home! One day I hosted our huge family gathering of 40+people, plenty of room, it was nice outside and inside and once again everything is provided at the house. I would recommend this house to everyone. One of the best places I have ever rented! The kitchen is very well stocked with plenty of dishes, pots, pans, baking dishes, utensils, spices, and daily COFFEE. The bathrooms have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. Emma is an excellent host who makes sure you feel welcome, by being available and providing a nice welcome gift and ingredients for s’mores. If you are looking for a place to get away, but have plenty to do while you’re there, this is it! We enjoyed using the pool table, darts, and ping pong table every day. The hot tub on the deck was awesome! The wet, cooler weather kept us inside most of the time, but the other outdoor amenities looked great as well. The Sonos speaker system is easy to use and lets you listen to music through the whole house and outdoors. There’s also a washer and dryer, with detergent and fabric softener provided. Most places, you have to bring every little thing you need yourself, but Emma seems to have thought of everything! It’s nice to go somewhere and not have to worry about anything! What a great, relaxing vacation it was for the whole family!

Another great stay. Plenty to do. Pool was wonderful when the heat index was over 100! Nice fire pit, outdoor kitchen. Kitchen is well stocked. Comfy beds.
