It was quite and the best part was my car was parked right in front of my room and there was a window for me to look at it

When we arrived, the black iron gate around the property was concerning. We felt like we were suddenly in a bad neighborhood even though it was actually a nice area of town. Once we got in the room we were greeted by a very large almost-dead cockroach in the bathroom. When we got over those two first impressions, our stay was fine. Friendly staff, comfortable beds. Minimal breakfast. Would not say here again.

The positives: the room was clean. The bathroom looked like it was remodeled recently. The Air conditioner worked and the water was hot to take a shower. All I needed was a bed and shower and that worked. However, it was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but it smelled like it had been smoked in and cleaned. I was on the second floor and there is no elevator. Overall it was practical and inexpensive.

It wasn't in the best location. They had a heavy metal fence and sliding gate to protect the property. I went to the trouble to do the online check in, and they had me do all of the same check in activities when I got there. The bed frames were all metal and creaked a fair bit. The bathroom door opened inward to a small bathroom and stuck. I can say it was convenient to CNU, was clean, and not too expensive. So maybe just average for what I paid.

We had 4 rooms and we didn’t stay after seeing the appalling condition. There was probably a dead hooker under the bed. It had a 7.0 rating??????? If I could attach photos I would. It smelled like raw sewage. Most disgusting place I’ve ever seen.

The sheets and all was dirty. Bugs on the bed and room stunk

This hotel is absolutely horrendous! DO NOT STAY HERE! We had to change rooms 3 times and ended up leaving without a refund. The first room had blood all over including the bed. The second room had cigarette burns all over bed spreads, ac and tv didn't work. I asked for a refund from the front desk person and he called the manager who said to put us in a different room. The third room had vomit all over the bed platform and the carpet, the bathroom door wouldn't work The toilet did not flush and the door wouldn't shut. The entrance door had no deadbolt. I have called Wyndham to file a formal complaint. I tried to share pictures of all 3 rooms but it will not let me upload.

There was very visible dirt, hair, and God knows what else on the inside bathroom door. I asked them to clean it because it should have been cleaned before anyone checked into that room. No one cleaned it. I had some alcohol wipes and was able to wipe off some of the dirt and dark colored "stuff" off of the door but it needs a good cleaning and sanitizing. And it looks like there is mold/mildew on the chalking in the shower Some of the other guest were "rambunctious" - very loud and disruptive with arguing and cursing. We got in very late and check in was smooth.

Just wasn't what i expected or am used too. There were people hanging outside the room and around the steps. It made me and my family rather uncomfortable. The room smelled and the bathroom wasn't clean. Heck the bathroom door wouldn't even shut. I'm not used to these type of hotels so its just not for me.

Dirty room. Missing cushions on the sofa stained with who knows what…. Bed cover stained with who knows what.. dirty shower and Newport News Police at 7 AM to quell a domestic dispute.

When I first arrived at the location, my hopes or high that I have found a decent hotel to stay for the night just as I expected. I was wrong. I was traveling with my significant other when we decided to go get something to eat, but we wanted to check in first so we can drop off our stuff and make sure that the room was decent when we arrived back upon further inspection. The air filters needed to be replaced Bedsheets needed to be severely swapped out, and the mattress was soaked in Dried urine And they had little black spots on the mattress, cover and mattress. Next, I saw that the towels in the bathroom were not up to par either due to the stains in mysterious red stains that were on the hand towels as well but I do have a video of the bedsheets soak in somebody else’s blood and body fluids… So yeah, anybody else that wants to pour money into this poor establishment be my guess… but I definitely got compensation afterwards and immediately got my refund on the spot due to unsanitary conditions because when I asked for another room, owner of the property told me that all of the rooms were the same way.

Our room was very clean and quiet. We had a restful stay.

For the price it wasn’t to bad, the bed is very soft and only 3 cheap pillows, dislike the cleaness of the room as there was a used condom wrapper on the couch…

Arrived at 11 PM and had to ring the doorbell numerous times before somebody would let me in the office for check in. The room was OK but had maintenance issues and not user friendly. For example, the bathroom faucet handle easily came off and wall that held the shower head had an internal water leak. You also had to run the shower for a few minutes to get hot water. The bathroom faucet had 10 seconds of cold water available. No folding luggage rack and to turn on bathroom light, you had to walk in bathroom and go around door to find switch. After 1st night, maid took my used hotel-provided shampoo but didn’t replace it and after 2nd night, maid took used and clean bath towels and didn’t replace. Had to use 2 hand towels after my last shower. This hotel is a text book case of immigrants buying what they hope is a cash flowing business but either don’t know what the hell they’re doing or are too cheap (or don’t have working capital) to do the right things. Either way, not good for the brand or their customers.

To be honest, it felt like a $50-$60 room… not $110. It is an old run down building, very noisy during the day and at night, and just isn’t in a great area. Stains on the blankets, linens, and even towels… (pro tip this is why we always bring our own blankets and towels. Even the nice hotels don’t wash stuff properly IMO.) 3 out of 5 stars overall. The people running the place were very nice and did swap our rooms when the first “non smoking” room smelled like someone had just smoked in it.

There was a huge gap under the door which allowed for bugs to enter the room and the cool air from the AC unit to escape. The lock on the door literally fell off from the door. The refrigerator did not work along with the TV remote. Additionally, I was concerned that there were bedbugs so I slept on the couch.

Reviews were accurate. Bring your own bedding. Hair on sheets that were provided. If taking a shower at popular times may get no hot water and had to put a towel down inside tub. Breakfast was bananas powdered donuts and coffee. Room was large and better than expected by outside. Staff was helpful when we needed something.

When we arrived the mgr. said there was a problem with the room. After about 20 minutes of him conversing with a staff person on the phone they came to the conclusion to give us a free upgrade to another non-smoking room free. We went to the room and it smelled of smoke instantly. This must have been a previous smoking room because of the smell,burn holes in all the sheets and burn marks on every counter. While trying to sleep there was constant door loud closings and .... oh yes the loud arguments that went on outside our door from 2am til 4am, but at least nobody got shot. As for 2 star hotels this didn't make it. I don't know what you need to be a 1 star hotel but I think we need a new rating system to include a nebula at the bottom so this motel can get a true rating.

They let me check in early. I always appreciate that.

The first customer service work on the phone was very rude n hung up on me and the lady as the front window charged me $20 that I would get back at check out after I was already at property n paid for my room.

The staff was very helpful, but they don’t do much else from what I noticed. Everything just seemed outdated and the area is super sketchy. For example: random people will knock on your car door window asking you to roll it down for whatever reason.

Horrible front desk attendant rude non caring… appeared to be remodeling but they need to just through the whole building away… staff there is also very nosy and will peep through your peep hole

Grocery and multiple restaurants within a couple minutes walk. The Turkish and Mexican restaurants are delicious!

My family and I traveled from Illinois to SC for my son’s graduation from basic training, we drove from SC to Newport News on November 28 (Thanksgiving Day) we only needed it for one night so I went a little cheaper than I usually do. We unloaded our car got to our rooms they were ok but again it’s for sleeping . We decided to go out for dinner , on our way out we encountered a man running from the police up the stairs my family was coming down . 3 other cop cars pulled up They pulled guns on him , I pushed my granddaughter behind me, we ran to our car realizing we were blocked in by police cars finally they moved one car and we left out of the parking lot . I decided right then we were not staying. We left to find another hotel. When we returned they had him in the cop car . But other questionable people were outside.My husband went and told them we were not staying. Not able to get a refund due to me booking through a 3 rd party . Was very disappointed that Expedia doesn’t physically check these hotels out . This area was very rundown . And I would say dangerous. I was scared with 2 military men and my husband with me. Women should not go there alone.

The panhandlers kept approaching us and walking around the property. Didn’t feel safe to only find bullet hole in the window when we were leaving.

This is in a questionable area! Many people hanging around and wandering through. Found a syringe in our bathroom. UNACCEPTABLE!!

Place was dingy and dated. Staff were very inattentive. The water would not get hot. I reported this and was told maintenance would check it. Then I was told to let it run for 20 minutes. I ran the water for half an hour with no success. I reported this again and then was given another rooms shower. There isn’t any hot tea or coffee- no juices, not a thing for breakfast. There were several shady, underdressed women lurching around. I would not stay here.
