I loved this hotel! This was our third time to Madeira but first at this hotel. In future this is where I will always book. The staff treat you like family and everyone from front desk, restaurant, bar, pool staff all pay attention to the smallest of details to make the guests comfortable. This resort is perfectly located and has so many nice amenities. We have a child with mobility problems and everything was accessible. It has numerous big pools both heated and unheated. The gym was one of the best at a hotel I have seen. There are numerous family games to play such as ping pong, air hockey, snooker, and boules. There is also a small playground. The food at the hotel is delicious but is also very close to good restaurants and a good sized supermarket. Wonderful place!

Great facilities, beautiful gardens and view, well maintained. Buffets (dinner and breakfast) didn't have great equipment to keep the food warm, but otherwise good (though the multitude of mousse type desserts really all taste the same). Very quiet and comfortable room. Hotel completely ignored my request for info on public transportation and only promoted its linked taxi service which I didn't appreciate.

Staff are amazing, facilities are great, with so many pools in the resort you can find space to chill and relax. Rooms are good, could do with a bit of updating. Food options are good too and there are loads of restaurants and bars close by.

Nette Rezeptions-Mitarbeiter, sehr umfangreiches und leckeres Frühstücksbüffet. Alle außer den Reinigungs- kräften sprechen englisch. Personal ist hilfsbereit. In den umliegenden Restaurants die Preisgestaltung beachten: Copertura zusätzlich? Steuer inbegriffen? Very nice hotel with helpfull friendly staff. Good facilities with the added bonus of being able to use the facilities of it's sister hotel next door. The grounds of the two hotel merged together and were beautifully kept. Nice location next to the ocean and a 40 minute walk into the centre of Funchal. Regular local buses into the centre of Funchal stop outside the hotel.

Vi var inte mycket på hotellet men servicen i receptionen var mycket bra. Rummet (svit med utsikt mot havet) var stor, ren och hade allt man behövde. Spa och poolen var bra. Lite för mycket klor i poolen enligt mig men ok. Bra frukost och bra läge.

Dejligt hotel med gode rummelige værelser med stor balkon. Rengøringen var i absolut topklasse. Godt udstyret køkkenniche. Morgenmaden var rigelig og rigtig god. Til hotellet hører en stor og smuk park med flotte træer og blomster. Fin beliggenhed. Det tager ca. 20-30 minutter at gå ind til centrum. Der findes i nærmeste omegn et utal af gode restauranter og cafeer i alle prisklasser.

This was our first time in Funchal, but our choice of hotel was excellent. The suite was of a good size and well supported with equipment for our needs. The balcony was great, and we had a lovely view of the sea. It was a little noisier than we were expecting, but part of that was due to a nearby hotel being renovated. I expect that rooms facing the interior of the hotel would be quieter. The ensuite was very practical and the rooms were cleaned each day to a very high standard. Towels were also provided for the pools and spa. The complex is wonderful. A choice of pools (indoor and outdoor) and plenty of options for sitting in the sun or the shade. The buffet breakfast was outstanding - plenty of choice each day with hot and cold options. You could even enjoy a glass of sparkling wine if you were so inclined! The staff spoke excellent English and were all incredibly polite and helpful. There are plenty of dining options close by, and a choice of supermarkets. A bus route into the centre was nearby, but you could walk there and back, if so inclined. We would definitely stay at this hotel again, if coming back to Funchal. Overall, it was a wonderful holiday, with plenty to see and do in Madeira.

Not the best modern room, too close to the morning buffet. Everything was very audible unfortunately, also I got bed bugs. The cleaning lady was so sweet but she did not fill up tea every day . Very good surroundings. The hotel is only for pensionist. So no younger people there. But overall okay, not but not value the money (almost 10,000 DKK for 1 week/room) Very good

Dès notre arrivée nous avons été accueilli avec le sourire et on nous annonce qu’ils ont upgrade notre chambre. Tous les employés sont à l’écoute de nos besoins, installations très propres, des immenses jardins, un site exceptionnel avec de bons restaurants et bars, un spa magnifique, bref un séjour mémorable, on va revenir.
Dès notre arrivée nous avons été accueilli avec le sourire et on nous annonce qu’ils ont upgrade notre chambre. Hotel Eden Mar is a gem among the many hotels of the new Funchal area. The many pools, grounds and general facility are kept in immaculate shape. The daily cleaning of our rooms and hotel was amazing. When we were tired of all the tourist activities on the island Eden Mar provided a quiet retreat where it was just fun to enjoy the swimming and grounds at the hotel. The choices for breakfast must have covered everything and there were always plenty of hot tasty food and plenty of smiles and good mornings from a very hard working staff throughout the hotel. Probably one of the best if not the best hotel we have stayed at during our many travels.

We loved every minute of our stay. The staff were so kind and friendly and made us feel very welcome. They were particularly lovely with our one year old granddaughter. The room was spotless and the pools were amazing!

Flot og roligt haveanlæg, hotel komplekset er stort og lidt besværligt at finde rundt i. Værelset virker noget mørkt og trænger til modernisering. Langt til havet, kan ikke høre bølgerne.

This was our first time in Funchal, but our choice of hotel was excellent. The suite was of a good size and well supported with equipment for our needs. The balcony was great, and we had a lovely view of the sea. It was a little noisier than we were expecting, but part of that was due to a nearby hotel being renovated. I expect that rooms facing the interior of the hotel would be quieter. The ensuite was very practical and the rooms were cleaned each day to a very high standard. Towels were also provided for the pools and spa. The complex is wonderful. A choice of pools (indoor and outdoor) and plenty of options for sitting in the sun or the shade. The buffet breakfast was outstanding - plenty of choice each day with hot and cold options. You could even enjoy a glass of sparkling wine if you were so inclined! The staff spoke excellent English and were all incredibly polite and helpful. There are plenty of dining options close by, and a choice of supermarkets. A bus route into the centre was nearby, but you could walk there and back, if so inclined. We would definitely stay at this hotel again, if coming back to Funchal. Overall, it was a wonderful holiday, with plenty to see and do in Madeira.

The hotel complex was very good. The breakfast was excellent. Staff were all very friendly and worked really hard. We used the gym and pool both indoor and outdoor and everything was to a high standard. We had a junior suite and found the furnishings very tired this was a disappointment(the rest of the hotel was very different). The bathroom was old. The room was a good size. The bed was comfortable.

Staff are amazing, facilities are great, with so many pools in the resort you can find space to chill and relax. Rooms are good, could do with a bit of updating. Food options are good too and there are loads of restaurants and bars close by.

Das Zimmer/Studio ist ist gross und bietet ausreichend Platz. Der Kühlschrank hat sogar ein Eisfach und in der kleinen Kochzeile findet man alles was nan braucht. Das Hotel ist schön eingerichtet, aber man merkt vorallem im Bad und dem Teppichboden im Zimmer, das die Anlage schon etwas älter ist. Hier würde eine Renovierung gut tun. (Heute verlegt man hygienische Fussböden). Alles andere ist gut.

Hadde ett fint opphold. Hotellet hadde flere gode fasiliteter, badebaseng ute og oppvarmet basseng inne. Vi trivdes godt. Store rom med balkong og fantastisk utsikt. Hoteller var kanskje litt slitt, men stort sett ett fint hotell. Sentral beliggenhet og stille og fine omgivelser. Bonus med gratis parkering!

stunning property, great rooms/beds. the only thing I would change is replacing the bathtubs with walk in showers. the restaurants on resort are the best in the area, if I was to stay again I would likely do half or full board instead of just breakfast

I loved this hotel! This was our third time to Madeira but first at this hotel. In future this is where I will always book. The staff treat you like family and everyone from front desk, restaurant, bar, pool staff all pay attention to the smallest of details to make the guests comfortable. This resort is perfectly located and has so many nice amenities. We have a child with mobility problems and everything was accessible. It has numerous big pools both heated and unheated. The gym was one of the best at a hotel I have seen. There are numerous family games to play such as ping pong, air hockey, snooker, and boules. There is also a small playground. The food at the hotel is delicious but is also very close to good restaurants and a good sized supermarket. Wonderful place!

Great facilities, beautiful gardens and view, well maintained. Buffets (dinner and breakfast) didn't have great equipment to keep the food warm, but otherwise good (though the multitude of mousse type desserts really all taste the same). Very quiet and comfortable room. Hotel completely ignored my request for info on public transportation and only promoted its linked taxi service which I didn't appreciate.

The staff at the hotel were so friendly, we were invited to a drinks reception for returning guests and we got to talk to many staff members. The breakfast was wonderful. We plan to Reto next year.

We loved every minute of our stay. The staff were so kind and friendly and made us feel very welcome. They were particularly lovely with our one year old granddaughter. The room was spotless and the pools were amazing!

En otroligt härlig resa med mycket vandring. Vi bodde i en svit med pentry, vi såg havet från balkongen. Mycket bra med fri parkering. Väldigt god frukost och många ställen att välja på inom hotellets område. Så sköna sängar. Hotellet låg en bit från själva centrum, men det funkade bra att promenera, ta buss eller taxi. Vi hade en fantastisk resa och rekommenderar hotellet varmt.

Friendly approachable staff in a well kept environment. Beautiful pools and garden areas and shared facilities with Porto Mare hotel. Alfama breakfast restaurant buffet a bit bijou but can use Atlântida which is more open. Well situated for walking or regular buses into Funchal. Very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyed our stay,

Very nice hotel with helpfull friendly staff. Good facilities with the added bonus of being able to use the facilities of it's sister hotel next door. The grounds of the two hotel merged together and were beautifully kept. Nice location next to the ocean and a 40 minute walk into the centre of Funchal. Regular local buses into the centre of Funchal stop outside the hotel.

Great hotel and facilities, it’s a shame that bars and restaurants onsite close too early. We enjoyed our stay here as a family and our room was amazing. The breakfast has a great selection but could do with better coffee choices. The restaurants onsite served up some amazing food and some of the theme nights the dinner is amazing. Carlos in the bar was amazing and very friendly, he always had a smile on his face and was great with our daughter. Will love to stay again.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Great facilities and right next to Funchal. Bedroom was extremely comfortable. Only thing that let it down is the food at the pool bar is rather poor - whilst all the food at the other restaurants and breakfast buffet is very nice.

Check in was great. Rooms were good. Overall hotel layout was complex over many different levels. Main access was off a very steep road, beware anyone with walking difficulties. Very disappointed by over priced dinners and bars. Breakfast was good. Very disappointed with no late check out facility for late flight departures especially as the hotel appearedto be half empty and the spa showers were very poor quality and no substitute for a room to have a shower before leaving for a late flight.

Very disappointed by over priced dinners and bars. Breakfast was good. Very disappointed with no late check out facility for late flight departures especially as the hotel appearedto be half empty and the spa showers were very poor quality and no substitute for a room to have a shower before leaving for a late flight.

This was our first trip to Madeira and staying at a Porto Bay Hotel but it will certainly not be our last. The Island is wonderful, the people charming and so friendly. Whilst you expect tourist based organisations to care about providing guests with a good experience, the staff at Suite Eden Mar do this effortlessly and I understand why they have such a high reputation and re-visitor rate. Was it the most upmarket hotel I have ever stayed in, no! However it was certainly the most friendliest I have ever stayed out and you 'feel' the care throughout the organisation.

Both myself and my son have had a wonderful 5 night stay at Eden Mar Suites. We stayed on a B&B basis. Staff were always helpful. Rooms spacious and cleaned daily. Pool and bar area were beautifully maintained and with brilliant service at the poolside bar and area. Breakfast was amazing with a variety of everything including fresh fruits and salad. Service again was fantastic. It has been our first stay at Eden Mar but definitely won't be the last 😊
