Hilton Garden Inn South Padre Island Beachfront

It bothered me that they were strict with the swimming pool with a security guard at the gate . I guess alit of people sneak in? Weird? It made my family feel unc ok uncomfortable. And we couldn't have our own food or drinks.

Love the place and would be 5-stars. But that was when the Tesla chargers were available. I can't believe they took out the Tesla destination chargers and put in the worthless AmpUp chargers. I spent more than 30 minutes attempting to get the AmpUp chargers working with my car. AmpUp even took $1 from me to attempt to make it work.

Wonderful stay! The outdoor bar/bartenders were great the Dj was awesome!

Large kid friendly pool

Elevator was broken so we had to walk around the entire hotel to grab the other elevator. My 85 year old mother had to walk. They didn't try to move us after I complained twice.

Unexpected Fees. Hotel charges extra $10 per person per night on top of normal hotel rate. So for every family member whoever is paying will now be charged an extra $10 per person per night. Nowhere on Hilton website or Expedia is this mentioned. Guest Laundry machines were broken. Guest laundry dryers don’t fully dry clothes which is great if you like to wear wet clothes. Questioned why extra towels are needed when a family of four is in a room but they only put three towels in a room. Kid pool is falling apart, sharp pool tiles are lying all over the place.

Lack of hot water taking a shower is a problem. The pool is not heated at all. The hot tube was a warm tube most of our stay.

Great place to stay, breakfast was great! Hot tub seemed cool to me though. Other than that everything was awesome.!

Big but not staffed well no coins for coin operated wash machine.

Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating as we arrived earlier than check in time. The room was very spacious and very clean. Great location with private beach access. The pool was not the cleanest. There were diapers, trash and empty bottles laying around everywhere.

We love this hotel! It's super clean, the pool is awesome and we love the beach access. There is a restaurant/bar onsite and a starbucks. Friendly front desk and cleaning staff.

Hotel lobby is really nice but the rest goes down hill from there. Not very clean elevators, roaches in our room.

The hotel is old and dirty, roaches in the bathroom. Hard pass next time.

Clean stay

Stay was okay. Bed was very uncomfortable and made so much noise getting in and out. The hallway right infront of our room smelled like vomit. Not worth $200 a night.

Liked everything. Housekeeping missed cleaning our room one day, other days it wasn't done until 5:30 pm. Beach bathroom was dirty on the weekend due to so many beach people using it. Food was great, especially loved the free breakfast and happy hours at Barry's Bistro

Did not meet expectations; Property literally showing signs of wear and tear. Room has Inadequate lighting; Dirty Windows; bathroom tub not quite clean. Room is good Size; They do have a quite Good Breakfast Buffet. T

I paid over $430 for one night expecting a relaxing stay at the Hilton Garden Inn South Padre Island Beachfront, but the experience was incredibly disappointing from the start. I arrived late in the evening, only to find that my room wasn’t even ready which is completely unacceptable for any hotel, especially one at this price point. The only room available had wet carpet, a foul odor, and large fans running to dry it out. Even housekeeping was confused as to why we were assigned that room. To make matters worse, the air conditioning in the room wasn’t working properly, making the already uncomfortable situation even more unbearable. I spoke with Josh at the front desk and Cynthia, the manager, and all they offered was to add points to my account as if that makes up for a night spent in subpar, borderline uninhabitable conditions. There were no other rooms available, and clearly no real effort to provide a meaningful resolution. For the amount of money we spent, this was a terrible customer service experience. I would not recommend staying here, and this stay has made me seriously reconsider ever booking with Hilton again

Rooms r spacious

The property is more expansive than most Hilton Garden Inns across the country. It has an outdoor pool with outdoor bar. Behind the property is Barry’s, which is an additional venue that is accessible with live music. However, the rooms are dates and require updating. The bed was hard as a rock and the pillows were lumpy. At night, despite quiet hours, there were a lot of drunks roaming the halls. We did not get good rest, which was a disappointment.

Staff was excellent, rooms large and clean. Reserved 6 months in advance and received a room on roof with view of broken fences around AC units.

Cold water showers

The only bad thing we had a issue with was the shower I had called the front desk about it they had told me maintenance would come but never showed up to fix it so we had to struggle to turn it on and off other then that it was perfect

We had a wonderful stay, the beach is easily accessible and the swimming pool is great as well. It’s a little far from most of the restaurant but it didn’t bother us. It’s not very far from the hotel anyway, everything is very close in distance. The room was awesome ( king size partial view) only thing is the mattress and pillows should be updated but that’s not a deal breaker.

The only thing I didn’t like was that our room wasn’t getting cold

Worst night ever! Checked in late and lowered thermostat to cool room. Went to pool for an hour and when we returned to our room the temperature was still as when we had left (warm). Called front desk and they sent maintenance to reset a/c. Maintenance man said that a/c was not working and that he would let the front dash know and that he would be right back. It was midnight at this time when he left our room. Never returned and no calls from front desk. Fell asleep in warm room and when we contacted the front desk in the morning, they said that they would contact the night crew about incident the offered a 50% discount. I asked for compensation of a free night and attendant said that he would not do that. Will contact Hilton customer service about this.

Rebecca working at the front desk is an absolute gem for the property. She is very attentive to everyone’s needs and goes over and beyond to accommodate.

Checking out was GREAT. Rebecca was super nice, friendly, had a smile every time I passed by. Checking in was not as good as checking out. When I checked in the person I'm front desk is not friendly. Does not make you feel welcome.

The gentleman at the front desk could use better customer service skills. When I called before hand to confirm reservation and verifying check in time and room being ready.. I was told room was not ready..when asked when will it be ready as I was told I could check in at 4:00..was told “I’m not sure” you can try us back in 30 minutes and see if it’s ready yet” ..I don’t think it’s a paying guests responsibility to follow up with the hotel staff when room is suppose to be ready upon check in time..the tone and u friendliness of this employee was terrible..not the best way to welcome paying guests who are traveling with small children and elderly..the whole interaction with this employee was unfriendly and not very welcoming…

Our stay started off rough, but they took care of us! One thing for sure they do not fail to remind you that you rented through Expedia!!!

They didnt allow us to Check-in until 5:30. My reservation was two queen beds and a sofa bed and they werent able to honor it. It also said it had a balcony but I dont know if what we got should be cosidered a balcony. It was just an enclosure in the roof of the building. I feel for the price we paid we should have gotten a better room. They really need to work on their Check-in process.

As a Hilton Honors member, I’ve never had such a terrible experience before. There truly is a first for everything. 1. Arrival was 6:30- 3:30 hours passed check in. My room was still not ready. We did get another room available. 2. Elevators were not working, notice was placed on one elevator and had only one functional all weekend 3. Friday stocked fridge with food/Snacks for my 8 year old daughter. After pool closed 11pm - went back got ready bath time/Bed time and as I made a snack for her, the food, drinks, cut fruit were hot. Fridge was not working and I lost all the groceries I purchased! 4. We drove to get fast food, kid was starving! Came back my husband let the from desk know. The hospitality was unbelievably bad. Michelle was at the counter, she was so rude at this point it’s well passed midnight and she said, “well I can send maintenance to the room, I’ll make sure he knocks loud since it’s late not sure what time he will make it”. My husband was so upset and said ma’am we just lost all sour groceries and had to drive to get a meal for ourselves. We are tired and ready for bed, do you mind scheduling something for 12 pm (Saturday). He asked to speak with manager, and no manager available at night only morning. We went about our day Saturday- no fridge, no call back from manager… Check our Sunday still no fridge, no manager and they would not even honor a late check out for us after all the trouble. I would appreciate a call back!

Frondesk staff don't care about guests. They made us cancel our reservation because the person that made the reservation could not make it due to flight cancelation. So, we have to cancel and make a new reservation way more expensive, the room was hot and they didn't fix it. Never Hilton again, always Marriott.

A great location, away from the busy end of the island, has a great beach bar and grill. The far north end of the island is free is buildings / businesses.

It was an amazing stay. To be able to stay at a beachfront hotel was amazing, literally 2 minute walk to the beach from our room. Would highly recommend this.

The location was perfect.

It’s a nice property with close proximity access to the beach and with of shops/eateries/bars within easy walking distances. The hotel is nicely maintained and situated far enough from the roadways that traffic noise is a nonissue. We’ll be returning soon!

Breakfast is way better here than any other hotel I’ve stayed at

The breakfast food was cold. We didn't use the pool or hot tub. The staff was Wonderful!!!!

I was able to pick my room and it had a lovely beach view. Breakfast was way above average for a hotel breakfast.

The young lady Prisella at the front desk went above to accommodate our request. We had booked a basic room with no scenery she was able to change us out; of course we paid the difference it was well worth it. The room was perfect for us. The restaurant I will say on day one we went there for dinner. I ordered the enchilada plate which was horrible probably the worse enchilada plate I have ever tasted. I let the waiter know. The following morning we went for the free breakfast it was ok; however the following morning we ordered the omelettes they were great.

Overall good place to stay.. very good breakfast and restaurant food is also nice.
