Casa Hormiga was a beautiful place to stay. It blended well with the zen feeling of Bacalar. The style and overall feel was very peaceful. I loved the morning yoga sessions. The staff was super helpful and made you feel very comfortable. Thank you Casa Hormiga for a beautiful vacation!

El hotel es casi nuevo y muy bonito, cada detalle de diseño y decoración está muy bien pensado. El trato del personal es irregular, algunos brindan buena atención, otros francamente decepcionantes. No entiendo por qué eligen personal extranjero para restaurante, pero mexicano para el resto de actividades. El desayuno es una decepción, no deberían atreverse a llamarlo "buffet" es huevo, frijoles, salsa, fruta, pan, café, té y leche. La alberca es muy fría, creo que por el nivel del hotel debería tener caldera. La página de hoteles.com indica que incluye traslados del y al aeropuerto pero esto es falso. La página del hotel indica que hay un club de corredores todos los días, pero al parecer sólo es cuando se encuentra el dueño, entonces no deberían ofrecerlo como atracción permanente.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Casa Hormiga. The pristine grounds, excellent service, and unique activities like the "House Ritual" with the Cacao Ceremony and massage made it a standout destination. The rooms were spacious, room service was good and the location very walkable. Special shout-out to Ruben, who was hilarious and extremely welcoming. I’ll be back one day!

This was a spectacular surprise. They have created a natural and very tasteful sanctuary with their hotel that is very special. We tried the temazcal ceremony and it was an amazing experience lead by Ronny. Special mentions go to Rubén and Rodrigo on the front desk for their professionalism and understanding of what great service really means. Bravo Casa Hormiga!!

This hotel really needs to start offering laundry service, heat the pools, and have a dinner and room service option for guests. That would make the experience much better. Neighborhood is loud so maybe some white noise options in the room would make the experience more pleasant as well

Beautiful place with lots of green. Good restaurant and very nice staff. Unfortunately, we had a constant sewer smell in our room that was rather unpleasant. We could not get another room as it was fully booked. They were going to look into it and i am positive that they will be able to solve the issue.

Not only was the property lovely, the food was delicious and the staff were above and beyond kind and helpful. While I was there, I needed medical attention. The staff worked as translators with the hospital, set up taxi rides, and checked in on me frequently. So generous. The pool area is clean and calming. My hammock on the porch, alluring. The beds were comfortable and the showers hot. No complaints at all. Casa Hormiga is quiet and peaceful. It is only a few blocks to the lake or the plaza... very convenient. I'd stay there again any day.

Casa Hormiga is a great place to stay on your next visit to Bacalar. The property grounds are beautiful and have a relaxing vibe. Staff is attentive and the rooms are some of the nicest places I’ve stayed at in Mexico. Plus you are in walkable distance to the lagoon and downtown area. Totally recommend and will sure return here!

I loved my stay at Casa Hormiga. Everything was excellent, including the fantastic cocktails from the bar, the delicious food with lots of vegetarian options, the quiet pools and the comfortable room. We were there during a slow month so the hotel wasn't full, which meant we had the pool all to ourselves and it never felt busy at breakfast either. The city is walkable from here but it's not right in the middle of the noisy areas either.

This place is a gem! It’s very unique and I love how quiet it is. Perfect to get to town (10 minute walk) or the lagoon (5 minutes). Staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely come back! Actually can’t wait to come back to this gem of town and boutique hotel!

Si pudiéramos ponerle 6 estrellas lo haríamos. El hotel es hermoso!! Pero la atención…. La atención es verdaderamente excelente y muy cálido. Se preocuparon por nosotros desde que llegamos hasta nuestro check out. Volvería a ir muchas veces más. Gracias por sus atenciones y por la sorpresa de cumpleaños a mi marido. Fue impresionante ya que yo nunca comenté el evento y ellos nos sorprendieron a todos.

The pristine grounds, excellent service, and unique activities like the "House Ritual" with the Cacao Ceremony and massage made it a standout destination. The rooms were spacious, room service was good and the location very walkable. Special shout-out to Ruben, who was hilarious and extremely welcoming. I’ll be back one day!

This was a spectacular surprise. They have created a natural and very tasteful sanctuary with their hotel that is very special. We tried the temazcal ceremony and it was an amazing experience lead by Ronny. Special mentions go to Rubén and Rodrigo on the front desk for their professionalism and understanding of what great service really means. Bravo Casa Hormiga!!

Not only was the property lovely, the food was delicious and the staff were above and beyond kind and helpful. While I was there, I needed medical attention. The staff worked as translators with the hospital, set up taxi rides, and checked in on me frequently. So generous. The pool area is clean and calming. My hammock on the porch, alluring. The beds were comfortable and the showers hot. No complaints at all. Casa Hormiga is quiet and peaceful. It is only a few blocks to the lake or the plaza... very convenient. I'd stay there again any day.

This place is a gem! It’s very unique and I love how quiet it is. Perfect to get to town (10 minute walk) or the lagoon (5 minutes). Staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely come back! Actually can’t wait to come back to this gem of town and boutique hotel!

Casa Hormiga is a great place to stay on your next visit to Bacalar. The property grounds are beautiful and have a relaxing vibe. Staff is attentive and the rooms are some of the nicest places I’ve stayed at in Mexico. Plus you are in walkable distance to the lagoon and downtown area. Totally recommend and will sure return here!

I loved my stay at Casa Hormiga. Everything was excellent, including the fantastic cocktails from the bar, the delicious food with lots of vegetarian options, the quiet pools and the comfortable room. We were there during a slow month so the hotel wasn't full, which meant we had the pool all to ourselves and it never felt busy at breakfast either. The city is walkable from here but it's not right in the middle of the noisy areas either.

This hotel really needs to start offering laundry service, heat the pools, and have a dinner and room service option for guests. That would make the experience much better. Neighborhood is loud so maybe some white noise options in the room would make the experience more pleasant as well

Very comfortable, cozy and welcoming. Super friendly and attentive staff. Breakfast option was convenient and food delicious. Clean room and comfortable bed. Casa Hormiga was perfect for us after a long day of touring the area, lagoon, nearby cenotes. Massage facilities and staff are superb! The property has a happy, Zen vibe - morning yoga with Josie was a great was to start the day. Location was terrific - an easy 2-3 block stroll to plenty of places; & another 2-3 blocks for lots of others. Hot water was a bit lacking on Day 1 of my stay, but I mentioned it the next morning & it was remedied by that evening. Staff is wonderful! Will definitely stay again on a future trip to Bacalar!

This hotel is gorgeous and very comfortable and serene. It's in a great locations very close to the Zocalo and the lagoon. The concierge team was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The restaurant on site had great drinks but I think the food could be improved as it left little to be desired in terms of options. I do have a severe shellfish allergy and they were VERY on top of that which I appreciated. You do not have your own fridge or TV in the room if that matters to you. They also don't provide body wash, which I found odd, but other than that I would absolutely stay here again. It was absolutely lovely and the many pools were a godsend with the heat as they keep them cool.
