Anther friendly stay at the fountain the food is good at the fountain so we tea there after work breakfast is excellent you’re need to go a long way to bet the breakfast the owners are great and the staff are nice and friendly

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left all the staff we helpful and kind and friendly. The dining room is beautiful and dog friendly (not that we had our dogs but it was so nice to see them snuggled on their beds <3) there is even a food menu for dogs! Our dinners were delicious and cooked fresh to order. The bedroom was elegantly furnished and we had a lovely view of the harbour. The bathroom could use an update but all perfectly functional. We would definitely recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Lovely old building right in the heart of Cowes. Rather faded glory and needs some attention to things like grouting and pitted chrome taps, and the window would only open a small way, meaning the room was very hot. There is NO parking with this property, so don’t travel with heavy cases! Parking is 8-10 mins away. Food was good and me in host was lovely.

The rooms are comfortable and had all the facilities you would want. The rooms are a little tired but with such a busy island you’ll only be sleeping and showering in it. Staff extremely helpful and welcoming including to our dog who they treated like royalty. Evening meal very good and breakfast which I paid for in advance was impressive. Great location. A little noisy at pub closing time but should be expected as I booked a hotel above a pub!!! Would recommend for all

What a great find .. great location . Staff amazing go above and beyond. As many places these days all needs a bit of upgrade to building and rooms BUT the comfort especially the beds !! And the friendly hard working staff more than make up for it ..we felt relaxed, welcome and valued . Especially our not so well dog skye who was truly spoilt ... This is not the first time we have stayed at a Greenking pub amd hope as a company you reward your staff .. they are amaxing .... We will be back ... Thanks to all the staff ....

And the friendly hard working staff more than make up for it ..we felt relaxed, welcome and valued . Especially our not so well dog skye who was truly spoilt ... We were greeted with a friendly welcome by the host whom also offered to carry bags up to our room, greatly appreciated. The room and bathroom had a magnificent view over the harbour and we then realise this is a gem of a place to have a weekend break from it all. That evening we relaxed with a wonderful meal, excellent wine and local music. That night slept exceedingly well in a comfortable bed. Breakfast was beyond expectation and seriously spoilt for choice, although it was busy we did not have to wait too long for our feast. We really appreciated the service provided by the staff, always happy, attentive and above all … friendly. Thank you so much for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable. We will no doubt return soon for another weekend away

It was a nice hotel near the ferry terminal, but there was no parking at the hotel parking was available at payed parking it was$6:00 for the night other than that I can recommend it

Such a warm welcome and so helpful. Absolutely lovely stay. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Bathroom likewise. Staff were brilliant able to accommodate a slightly later dinner on our first night and looked after bags both before check in and after check out.

Arrived out of hours the night porter and front desk did a great job. Gave all the information requested and were very welcoming. The room I stayed in was clean. Bed and sheets spot on but the decor needs refreshing.

Room itself was clean, but the shower area was very bad. The grouting in the tiles was stained brown as was the silicone around the shower base. We would not shower in there. The communal areas are badly in need of refurbishment. We complained to the manager next morning about the shower and he told us that the hotel was due to shut for a refurbishment, but it had been delayed by Greene King who own it. He apologised and offered a full refund to his credit. It was not just our room, as my brother also had a room in which the shower was in the same state, after paying for an upgraded room. He also got a refund.

It gave me everything I needed. A comfortable bed and a quiet, clean room to stay in whilst visiting a poorly friend. The staff were pleasant, kind and helpful and my room was moved when I pointed out the difficulty with the bath tap. One young person behind the bar was somewhat off-hand when we thought we might have a meal but changed our minds because the table in the bar was dirty and two glasses had lipstick still on them. I feel proper training is needed here. The hotel itself was very tired - a hot tap that was furred up on the bath/shower that I couldn't turn on, the chain missing from bath and sink plugs making it very difficult to drain the bath - it would have been impossible for even slightly arthritic hands. I was also disconcerted to find that there was no fire exit route map displayed in the room and if there had been a fire, and the stairwell filled with smoke, I am uncertain how I would have got out. I understand that a refurbishment is happening soon and I presume that most of these matters will be addressed.

Stayed many times with family. We always return when visiting Cowes. Great atmosphere, the staff are really friendly, welcoming and helpful. Rooms are always so clean. Great location.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious, with a large double bed, wardrobe, desk and chair and a large tv. The bathroom was a bit small but functional. Our room had no view of the water, which was disappointing as this pub is located at the ferry dock. The location is great! Right on the High street of Cowes.

Ideal location for the centre of town. Comfortable room with all requirements for an overnight stay. Perfect location to start the coastal path walk. Stayed at the beginning of walk Sunday very quiet at night. Stayed at end of walk Saturday night. Very noisy outside in street until early hours, even with windows closed Otherwise great place to stay. Staff lovely and helpful. Meal choice good and plentiful

Lovely staff and great location. I think it was bad luck but we had the smallest room imaginable, plus it was too hot to sleep. My parents stayed too in the same room class and it was much better size and cooler. Staff in the bar more than made up for it, brilliant time had and would stay again for sure

What a great find .. great location . Staff amazing go above and beyond. As many places these days all needs a bit of upgrade to building and rooms BUT the comfort especially the beds !! And the friendly hard working staff more than make up for it ..we felt relaxed, welcome and valued . Especially our not so well dog skye who was truly spoilt ... Lovely staff and great location. I think it was bad luck but we had the smallest room imaginable, plus it was too hot to sleep. My parents stayed too in the same room class and it was much better size and cooler. Staff in the bar more than made up for it, brilliant time had and would stay again for sure

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious, with a large double bed, wardrobe, desk and chair and a large tv. The bathroom was a bit small but functional. Our room had no view of the water, which was disappointing as this pub is located at the ferry dock. The location is great! Right on the High street of Cowes.

It was a nice hotel near the ferry terminal, but there was no parking at the hotel parking was available at payed parking it was$6:00 for the night other than that I can recommend it

Anther friendly stay at the fountain the food is good at the fountain so we tea there after work breakfast is excellent you’re need to go a long way to bet the breakfast the owners are great and the staff are nice and friendly

Very good staff friendly and welcoming Rooms are comfortable albeit slightly tired, could do with paint & new carpets But 5* overall and breakfast excellent served by a great RLNI gent !

Very clean but tired. The sanitary ware in the bathroom was cracked with ingrain stains in the bath and toilet. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and all staff in the hotel were helpful and friendly

The rooms are comfortable and had all the facilities you would want. The rooms are a little tired but with such a busy island you’ll only be sleeping and showering in it. Staff extremely helpful and welcoming including to our dog who they treated like royalty. Evening meal very good and breakfast which I paid for in advance was impressive. Great location. A little noisy at pub closing time but should be expected as I booked a hotel above a pub!!! Would recommend for all

We were greeted with a friendly welcome by the host whom also offered to carry bags up to our room, greatly appreciated. The room and bathroom had a magnificent view over the harbour and we then realise this is a gem of a place to have a weekend break from it all. That evening we relaxed with a wonderful meal, excellent wine and local music. That night slept exceedingly well in a comfortable bed. Breakfast was beyond expectation and seriously spoilt for choice, although it was busy we did not have to wait too long for our feast. We really appreciated the service provided by the staff, always happy, attentive and above all … friendly. Thank you so much for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable. We will no doubt return soon for another weekend away

Staff were helpful. Property looks tired. Very basic for the inflated price. Toilet/Bathroom not clean. Good location but very noisy until 4.00 am as position is central to action and it was Cowes week. Cowes itself is a lovely place to visit.

Difficult review. On the one hand, perfect location, great view, good bed, very helpful staff and nice food. On the other hand, the room was very uncomfortable. Unbearably hot with windows that only open a crack. Very low sloped ceilings in about half the room (which was already tiny). Okay if you're under 5 foot five. At 6 foot 2 my partner hit his head several times, jarred his back ducking to avoid hitting his head and had to bend over backwards to use the toilet. The room was very grubby, peeling paper, plastered holes, bits of mold, a cupboard that opened into a roof cavity full of insulation and dust. If we'd seen an accurate picture we wouldn't have booked. We booked months in advance for a discount and we know this is a budget option but really those loft rooms are not suitable for anything beyond a single night stay at best.

On arrival the staff were very helpful and friendly and the location was perfect for anyone using the Red Jet ferry and local shops. Leading from the reception the staircases and landings needed attention as they were very tired in appearance. On entering the room the bed looked nice with clean white sheets and was very comfy. The toilet bowl was very badly stained and looked as if it had not been properly cleaned for months, the floor was dirty and the shower had no cold water and was very erratic stopping and starting. Being so concerned about the state of the toilet we had to resort to purchase our own cleaning products. Whilst the accommodation is in a great location the condition of the bedroom and bathroom was terrible.
