The only reason I didn’t give this hotel a 5 star review was because the television in my room wasn’t connecting, and since maintenance wasn’t available, I had to move to a smaller, queen room (my original room was larger and a king). It wasn’t huge but inconvenient. The elevators were also extremely slow for a smaller hotel. However, the hotel was beautiful and the location was excellent. The room had small touches that were great such as ceiling fans, reading lamps, and a little ledge on both sides of the bed (side of bed furthest from the nightstand) to place small items such as a cup or glasses. The hotel overlooked the marina which had a beautiful view and you could walk to many restaurants in the downtown area. I was in town for the Neuse River Bridge Run which is why I chose those hotel. The start and stop were only a couple minutes from the hotel by foot. Parking was also plentiful and easy to find. If I stay in New Bern again, I’ll definitely return to this hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff. For the first time we took our 8 month old puppy. Zero dog-smell in the room. The surrounding area is beautiful with boats and plenty of sidewalks. Close to park where two rivers meet. Downtown has nice shops, friendly people, and beautiful buildings. The history of New Bern is interesting as well.

The staff was exceptional. All three of the representatives at the front desk were knowledgeable about the room ammemnities. They were also enthusiastic about their work and displayeda pleasant demeanor over our 3 day stay. Restaurants were in walking distance and shops are within 1 block of the hotel. We stayed on the riverfront.and tne view is breathtaking. The only thing that may need changing is the pool is next door at the Doubletree Hilton. The hotels are sister hotels so we were able to walk over to the pool Parking is very convenient for the hotel,. There is not a charge for parking. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The television does need more stations. Overall, this is am excellent hotels for.an adult relaxing getaway.

The only good thing about the hotel was the front desk staff. I imagine when the leaves are off the trees that the room has a gorgeous water view, but there wasn't much of one when we were there. The shower had neither hot water nor any water pressure. The espresso maker didn't work. I have several large bruises on my leg from the bed frame as it sticks out and the space is so narrow. It was impossible to maneuver a luggage cart around the hotel from the 'handicapped accessible ramp' to the teeny elevators and to the roo,s around the center. Given our difficulty, I wonder how anyone in a wheelchair manages. I imagine if you were going for a weekend getaway, it would be more delightful.

The only good thing about the hotel was the front desk staff. I imagine when the leaves are off the trees that the room has a gorgeous water view, but there wasn't much of one when we were there. The shower had neither hot water nor any water pressure. The espresso maker didn't work. I have several large bruises on my leg from the bed frame as it sticks out and the space is so narrow. It was impossible to maneuver a luggage cart around the hotel from the 'handicapped accessible ramp' to the teeny elevators and to the roo,s around the center. Given our difficulty, I wonder how anyone in a wheelchair manages. I imagine if you were going for a weekend getaway, it would be more delightful.

The staff here are always friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were very clean and they smelled nice. No antiseptic or chemical smell. The restaurant was delicious. We enjoyed every meal. Nigeria was our waitress much of the time and she was a breath of fresh air during our stay! She took great care of us.

Beautiful clean rooms and lobby. Well positioned on the river / riverwalk with excellent views of the boats and July 4th fireworks steps away. Very nicely decorated room and bath (above average for sure). Comfortable beds and quiet. We did not take advantage of the restaurant on site. For families, I'd say it's not the greatest; no pool in the middle of summer in NC is a big downside. There's note really a lot of room in the lobby or common areas to hang out. If you want a very well appointed room that's quite without standard vacationers (didn't see a lot of families or little kids, maybe because of the higher standard room rate), this is the place to go.

New Bern is a hidden gem! Incredible history, architecture, gardens, shopping, dining, etc. Try Persimmon's restaurant on the water. The brand new staff at Tryon Riverfront weren't helpful at problem solving room issues. Food fantastic (especially gluten free sweet potato pancakes) but expect to wait awhile.
