This hotel is in a strange edge of town location. Once through the front door however it is typical Marriott. Great service, clean and pleasant. External courtyard environment leading to rooms which is not ideal in cold Manchester weather

Great apartment, spacious with well equipped mini kitchen. Easy to walk everywhere, close to the Northern Quarter and convenient for Piccadilly train station. Breakfast was included so that was great - it was very busy on the Saturday morning though. Staff were friendly and polite, even when they were busy. The rooms were warm so check / adjust the thermostat when you arrive. There was a security deposit which was returned within a day or two of our stay, but we had been warned it may take up to five days. It’s a city centre hotel so you may get some noise outside when people leave the clubs and make their way home. There is a lot of building work in the area - this didn’t affect us as we were staying over the weekend. Overall a great stay.

Was surprised with the hotel for the price, included a little kitchen area and had everything we needed. Only bad part was the bed being very noisy if I turned over while sleeping it woke me up. Breakfast area is very compact. A rude person stole my chair when getting breakfast so me and my little one had to move.

I booked 5 rooms for my friends hen do and had the best experience. The rooms were upgraded for free and we got to check in early for no extra cost which made the day we had planned even better. The rooms were spacious, well equipped with the comfiest king sized beds. All the staff were lovely and welcoming. The location was great for getting in the centre by walk or taxi. The parking is off site but a minute walk away and £17 for 24 hours which for a city isn’t too bad. Would return again. Thank you for our stay.

The room was very clean, warm and spacious. Had everything you woupd need such as ironing board, iron, hair dryer, toiletries, fridge, hob, microwave, dishwasher, king size bed, 48inch tv. Towels were also provided. The hotel facilities were amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing with lots of variety such as pastries, cereals, toast and jam and cooked breakfast. We had such a lovely stay.

This is a decent hotel location is good just a short walk to the northern quarter for bars a restaurants. The rooms are modern and spotless. The breakfast was buffet which was plentiful and well cooked. I would definitely stay at this property again.

The hotel is tucked away on a quiet street, away from the hustle and bustle whilst still being within walking distance from the city centre. The rooms are clean and spacious with plenty of amenities. Will visit again soon.

The staff were helpful. However, the cleanliness was not the best. The bed had a number of hairs on arrival on top of the bed. There was also a number of strains which were clearly seen on the bed cover. The shower tray was had black spot, which was off putting. They was also a good amount of dust generally in the room. This was around lights in the room. My mam dropped her reading tablet, when she pick it up it was covered in dust from the area. Though the location was ideal to the coop live.

One of the dirtiest hotels I stayed in and it’s not a cheap one. Starting from the room, lobby and even the lift. Dust and seagull poo everywhere. Will not book here again and I don't recommend staying here.

I stayed during Pride. I was disappointed. Although there was nothing wrong, and nothing specific to complain about, I felt the property, service, food and experience were distinctly average. The place could do with a more thorough clean in places - my shower although not dirty had mould and mildew in places. Check in was easy but I found staff did the minimum. At the end of my stay, I was asked how it was and when I replied that everything was "ok," they laughed and said... "oh I\'m sure we did better than okay?" It was very odd! The property is pretty new but showing signs of wear and tear and not being cared for. Some communal floors are pretty dirty. Breakfast was uninspiring. Basics done without flair - I couldn\'t find one thing that had much taste. I think because this is a bit more of a pricey option, I was expecting much more! I would recommend that staff put themselves in the guests shoes and really think about the experience / hospitality they give. I would not atay again or recommend.

I had to pay £48 in person, because I had requested an upgrade to a suite after paying fully for a queen sofa bed room, I had booked online which said £15 to upgrade. I felt unhappy. Had to call several times for WiFi, because apparently you are supposed to pay to boost Internet. The staff there are not too bad to be honest.

The room had nothing in it as far as microwave, fridge etc. Just a kettle! But even an ice bucket. It's Residence Inn, and all the photos show kitchens, but the room was so small there wasn't barely room for us in it! And where the room was located every time someone opened one of the hallways doors it made a horrible noise that made you jump EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Location is ideal not far from Piccadilly station. It's just a short walk to Chinatown or the main shopping area. There is a lot of building work in the area though. Great customer service at check in. Room size for King Suite was spot on. Room was a little jaded in areas though. King size bed was so comfortable and added to a good night's restful sleep. Bathroom had both bath and overhead shower, only letdown was no seal on the glass partition door over the bath, which we failed to notice until getting out and seeing a very wet floor! For those wanting to cook, there are only 2 pans, was disappointed there was no frying pan to use. Also if cooking please follow the necessary instructions as whilst we there the fire alarm in other rooms went off twice. Not good at 3.45 am! WiFi was extremely slow and TV kept lagging and cutting out in both the sitting room area and bedroom. Adequate choice of food for breakfast, but really difficult to get round the serving area when crowded and busy. There were no covers over the hot food so some of this was extremely dried up when we arrived. All in all we had a really enjoyable stay.

The check in was great! Very friendly staff. Comfortable bed, very clean and very well equipped. The fridge was too noisy and disturbed our sleep. Hardly slept a wink because of it. If it wasn’t for that it would be all 5 star. Great location! Easy to walk to Piccadilly station.

Room was good and hotel staff were all friendly. We stayed in room 210 and the bed frame needs to be looked at, every time we moved in bed it made an awful creaking sound. The breakfast could do with some improvement, some more kid friendly options and just a greater variety and increase in quality. None of the food was also labeled with any allergy information.

recently reopened after a very half hearted refurbishment and expected a better quality and standard, much better options in Manchester for the price, breakfast area was inadequate for the number of guests, no tables available either day, front desk really unhelpful and untruthful regarding a request for just one hour late checkout, claimed to be full the following night (Sunday) yet 10 rooms showing available on the app, now i fully understand that we have no entitlement to a late check out even for an hour but I prefer not to be lied to as this shows a contempt for customers and sets a bad example when management instruct staff to lie for them and to be fair to the staff they seemed very uncomfortable doing so and were very unconvincing. we wont be back

On arrival at hotel reception desk had no reservation for us. Had to call for manager who checked and said our booking was for the week after. It was a very busy reception and we were made to feel awkward and stupid in front of everyone. We asked to move to the lounge area to get it sorted as everyone was looking at us. We found the confirmation on our phone but was told it was hotels.com who had made a mistake. We don’t understand that as we had a message from the hotel in the morning welcoming us and asking if we needed anything or to upgrade when we arrived. It did eventually get sorted after about 30 minutes and into our room. The rooms were great and no problems. On leaving the hotel though at check out the receptionist said how lucky we were to get a room after booking wrong week. We have stayed with hotels.com a lot of times and in various countries (especially America) and have never had this problem so don’t understand Marriott’s excuse.
On arrival at hotel reception desk had no reservation for us. Had to call for manager who checked and said our booking was for the week after. It was a very busy reception and we were made to feel awkward and stupid in front of everyone. We asked to move to the lounge area to get it sorted as everyone was looking at us. We found the confirmation on our phone but was told it was hotels.com who had made a mistake. We don’t understand that as we had a message from the hotel in the morning welcoming us and asking if we needed anything or to upgrade when we arrived. It did eventually get sorted after about 30 minutes and into our room. The rooms were great and no problems. First room had rubbish left under the bed so asked to be moved to one that has been cleaned correctly. Was upgraded to one of the best rooms available. This was an excellent room, basically an entire apartment. The guy at breakfast is very helpful and friendly. The only annoyance is they insist on seeing photo ID at check in which I don’t carry because nobody asks for it these days, you have all my info from the booking. So had to text someone at home to send me a photo of it.

Long que for check in, was asked to pay £25 for our sofa bed to be made up after paying for a family room this wasn’t done before we checked in. We then asked at reception on our way to dinner for it to be made up - we came back late that evening and the sofa bed was not made up. The staff at the Residence Inn Marriot in Piccadilly were exceptional! They provided us with personalized directions when asked and were always friendly and positive. They greet you upon arrival and wish you well as you walk out of the hotel. Everyone from the front desk, to the breakfast personnel, housekeepers, and evening concierge attendants were excellent. We were upgraded to a suite upon arrival and allowed to check in early since we arrived at lunchtime. It was a wonderful experience to stay @ this Marriot. I would recommend this hotel and will stay here again in the future.

This is a decent hotel location is good just a short walk to the northern quarter for bars a restaurants. The rooms are modern and spotless. The breakfast was buffet which was plentiful and well cooked. I would definitely stay at this property again.

Everything about the stay was great - the staff were polite and helpful, the room clean and spacious, the bed super comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and high quality. And the location was great - only 8 minutes walk from Manchester Piccadilly.

Location is ideal not far from Piccadilly station. It's just a short walk to Chinatown or the main shopping area. There is a lot of building work in the area though. Great customer service at check in. Room size for King Suite was spot on. Room was a little jaded in areas though. King size bed was so comfortable and added to a good night's restful sleep. Bathroom had both bath and overhead shower, only letdown was no seal on the glass partition door over the bath, which we failed to notice until getting out and seeing a very wet floor! For those wanting to cook, there are only 2 pans, was disappointed there was no frying pan to use. Also if cooking please follow the necessary instructions as whilst we there the fire alarm in other rooms went off twice. Not good at 3.45 am! WiFi was extremely slow and TV kept lagging and cutting out in both the sitting room area and bedroom. Adequate choice of food for breakfast, but really difficult to get round the serving area when crowded and busy. There were no covers over the hot food so some of this was extremely dried up when we arrived. All in all we had a really enjoyable stay.

The facilities in the property were excellent. Staff very helpful and polite. The surrounding area doesn't feel safe at all. Although a short walk, I'm glad I got a cab from the station rather than walking. Apart from the area, I'd recommend the property.

New place close to city centre … loads of developments ongoing so not the best views but property is fab. Staff were prompt with all requests and made sure everything was addressed and up to standard. Despite being a new build, and we had a room on the 10th floor, you still get a lot of noise from the passing traffic especially the emergency vehicle sirens which is a tad annoying but it didn’t spoil the overall stay. Breakfast was fresh and the variety was impressive but it does get very busy as the area is small in comparison to the amount of rooms they have. Overall it’s towards the top end of positives but always room for improvement if the feedback is taken constructively.

The hotel was very clean and tidy, staff were very friendly, just a few small things let it down. 1. The air con was on but was not very cold even on lowest setting so was hot most the night. 2. Fire alarm light flashing above the bed all night, wasn’t great 3. Small one but no sausages at breakfast?? Why not, there was bacon, only scrambled eggs, mushrooms, beans and has browns. No fried eggs or sausages

We were in a lovely studio on the top floor which was nice and quiet. Very nicely furnished and had great facilities with a little kitchen area as well. The bed was a little firm so we didn’t sleep the best, and unfortunately the fire alarm went off at 6.30am on the Sunday morning which was pretty annoying. Breakfast was nice. Would definitely stay again. It was good value and well located.

Hotel location was good for a short weekend in Manchester. Not much around the hotel but a short walk into the city centre. Rooms were clean and well maintained and the staff were great however breakfast was a little disappointing, very cramped area to get food and limited choice i.e. no sausage.

For the most part it was a very comfortable and wonderful stay here! Appeared very clean. amenities included mini fridge/freezer, blackout curtains, luxurious bedding, decent air conditioning and heating. toiletries provided. excellent location, minimal noise. A few things i was dissatisfied with; The breakfast i felt was a bit lacklustre when it came to vegetarian options.. The towel rack in the bathroom was faulty was unable to get the induction hob to work so we had to use the microwave for cooking. staff were friendly and helpful

Super convenient spot, walkable to the Piccadilly train station and all kinds of great restaurants, pubs, shops and sights. Their included breakfast is a great way to start the day before heading out. Staff is very friendly, helped with lost luggage. Bed was very comfortable, room spacious and clean.

I stayed during Pride. I was disappointed. Although there was nothing wrong, and nothing specific to complain about, I felt the property, service, food and experience were distinctly average. The place could do with a more thorough clean in places - my shower although not dirty had mould and mildew in places. Check in was easy but I found staff did the minimum. At the end of my stay, I was asked how it was and when I replied that everything was "ok," they laughed and said... "oh I\'m sure we did better than okay?" It was very odd! The property is pretty new but showing signs of wear and tear and not being cared for. Some communal floors are pretty dirty. Breakfast was uninspiring. Basics done without flair - I couldn\'t find one thing that had much taste. I think because this is a bit more of a pricey option, I was expecting much more! I would recommend that staff put themselves in the guests shoes and really think about the experience / hospitality they give. I would not atay again or recommend.

Great room, facilities and very comfortable. It would have been helpful to have a better view of housekeeping times, as housekeeping didn't come until 18.00. The free breakfast was very good and regularly refreshed and cleaned.

La stanza mi è piaciuta molto ma le lenzuola erano troppo strane e corte non coprivano davvero la parte alta del letto. In camera sarebbe gradita una macchinetta del caffè con le capsule. La colazione molto minimal il succo di arancia non sapeva di nulla, consiglio di cambiare marchio. Palestra ok ma migliorabile Hall piacevole e accogliente

My husband and I stayed in a studio with king bed. There was construction right in front of the entrance which makes it inconvenient when dropping off our bags. The staff at reception kindly accommodated our request for a higher floor (12 instead of 3) as the same room type were available. However on entering the room, it was smaller than advertised. There was only a relatively small window overlooking the beautiful view of the city, while the bigger window showed the corridor instead :( There was a smoke detector that kept flashing brightly directly on top of the bed which made us feel very uncomfortable while trying to sleep. The lobby/lounge area is cosy, and I did use the small gym in the basement. We opted for room service on the first morning by putting up the sign before we left around 10.30am, but this did not take place. When I raised this with the staff at reception, they said we were supposed to put up the sign before 9am (although the so-called instruction card said either to put up the sign, or - in another line - inform reception before 9am). It was not clearly stated what time the sign needed to go up at. It would have been helpful if this is highlighted during check-in. The included breakfast was mid in terms of range and quality, so we did not go for it the second day. The water in the shower kept going on and off, hot then cool, on the second morning before we checked out. TLDR; poor design, decent service, disappointing experience for a trusted brand.
