Amazing beautiful location but unfortunately the house did not live up to expectations, especially considering the price. The house was damp and smelt strongly of damp. Some of the walls were very damp with bubbling of the paint and mould. There was mould around the bathroom plug and around the edge of the shower. The sofas had lost their springs and incredibly uncomfortable which wasn't helped with being made from hessian. The bed was very bouncy so when my husband rolled over I bounced around and vice versa. The microwave didn't work. There were plenty of towels in the bathroom but they were very thin and crispy. We booked for 2 nights and only stayed the one as couldn't bring ouselves to stay another night.

A nice house with plenty of character but still bright and cheerful. Clean, warm and comfortable. A brilliant location for walking - lots of choice without needing to use your car. Good places to eat and drink within a few minutes walk. Also worth taking a walk to the Victoria Inn in Kirkby Malham - lovely pub.
