Basic hotel, but with decently large room, clean and good bathroom. It was easy and quick to check in to the 24hr service on the desk. Flood-lit and monitored free car park. Free wifi.

This place was lovely, so quiet considering it's next to a high speed road. The tipple bar and the food truck is great, lovely garden area, lush in the sun. The only downside for me was the beds were really hard, I'd rather have a softer bed, due to back issues, but that's my preference so not removing a star or anything. The staff were friendly, said hi when we walked in, have a good day when we went out. Housekeeping came round while we were in the room one afternoon, told them we were fine and they asked if we were sure. Went out on the Saturday morning, was out all day, left my case and stuff on the bed unmade, when we got back they had made the bed and put the case and other bits back on it. Only thing I changed myself was the toilet roll was hanging the wrong way round haha. Well done guys and girls, you should be proud of yourselves and what you've made this hotel!!

Lack of breakfast facilities, also limited choice on evening meals, so ate out and drove to local shop for breakfast.

Bar & restaurant were closed for my 2 night stay. Had I known I would have booked elsewhere.

This hotel is under renovation and should be closed till it’s finished. There were a number of things that made this hotel unpleasant: The rooms are tired, cold, and uncomfortable. The pillows are so thin you need to use all four. There was no hot water, the shower gel was so diluted it was just perfumed water. The toilet rolls were cheap and thin, and there was no wash basin products. The walls are so thin you can hear everything in the adjacent rooms, some things should be private and you could hear every noise. The tipple bar was cold as I noted there was an issue with heating as the hotel had portable heaters throughout the building. I feel sorry for the lady who was running the desk as the staff did not know how to deal with guests. We experienced a guest being double booked into a room. We were looking for a comfortable hotel to stay at before a competition at Hartpury and this was unfortunately not it.

It was very good value for money. The restaurant was being refurbished so no food in the hotel only an outside snack bar.

I was greeted in a friendly fashion at reception and given a room on the ground floor on requesting this. All was quite clean and a very comfortable bed. I will be back again when I am in Gloucester

Very welcoming, professional and helpful staff. Rooms are always clean with comfortable beds. Rooms are warm in the winter months not the case for some hotels. Lots of space and a good size desk area to work from.

Rooms are basic but clean. Sponge mattress is a little uncomfortable. Biggest issue is the damp smell that hits you every time you open the door, and it does linger. My room keycard was very temperamental too, and needed multiple trips to reception to gain entry every time. Grounds are a mess. Overall it’s OK. Kept the weather off. Just don’t expect too much. You get what you pay for.

I had to change my hotel reservation last minute and my room was all ready sparkling clean for me by the time I made it from Gloucester City Centre. It's only 10-15 minutes away by a bus but I would advise non-drivers to be prepared for either taking the bus or taxi as it's by a busy road but otherwise village is quiet, not many shops and eating places.

Firstly, I can’t praise the girls on reception enough. They were friendly, sympathetic, helpful, and I really appreciated our chats. Unfortunately, on arrival, the shower head in my room flew off the wall, hit me in the face, and soaked the bathroom and my belongings. The water also had a strong ammonia or sewage smell. I wouldn’t have felt safe bathing in it, let alone drinking it. The brilliant receptionist on the evening of 09/07 moved me to a family room straight away and even offered to help carry my things. Sadly, this room also had plumbing issues. During a 33°C heatwave, only hot water came through the taps. A cold shower and drinking water after long, sweaty days wasn’t possible. When I asked for cold water to brush my teeth and stay hydrated, I was told I could buy bottles for £1 each, but it was cash only with no change available, so I was forced to buy five bottles with a note. Given the ongoing water issues, this felt unreasonable. Hotel clearly needs repair, with damp and smells throughout. Beds were comfortable and the cleaners did a great job. But access to safe running water is a basic necessity, not an optional extra. I appreciated the staff who did all they could, but I do feel management should have partially compensated & take these issues seriously and treat guests with more care. Thanks Alice + other girl- sorry forgot name! Without you my stay would have been reviewed much worse. Powers that be/bosses - you need to learn from their customer service!

Bed was memory foam very uncomfortable sheet and mattress protector kept coming off bed duvet cover had rip. Single glazed windows made room very cold no heating in bathroom, lovely sink in bathroom but had to use cup to fill kettle as couldnt fit under tap. Lots of cobwebs and paint bubbling on walls

Easy check in. However the bed was quite hard, have stayed here before and the mattress has never been a problem before but this time was different

The room was freezing when we got there, the heater wasn’t working, moved to different room same problem, put a electric heater in the room, and gave a extra duvet, the one on our bed was very thin, the bed was very uncomfortable, the bathroom very cold, the breakfast truck was not available, like it says in booking, the staff are very helpful and polite, the dinner truck is nice good value,

This hotel is a masterclass in false advertising. The "cozy" room was a frigid walk-in closet, half the advertised size, with beds like concrete slabs. The bathroom was aggressively beige and nothing like the glossy photos. The atmosphere was a unique blend of industrial solvent, forgotten mop water, and existential dread. Sleep was impossible, thanks to the non-stop, 12-hour audio seminar on hardcore human passion from the room above. Non stop banging until early hours of the morning. Trying to distract myself, I found the Wi-Fi password was just a theoretical concept—zero connectivity. The temperature felt calibrated to an ice fishing hut, forcing us to sleep fully clothed. When we tried to complain, the advertised "24/7" reception was locked down tighter than Fort Knox after 11 PM. If you enjoy paying for a scented freezer, enduring frostbite, and receiving zero customer service, book immediately. Everyone else: flee.

Arrived at hotel to find restaurant being renovated and closed. Recepionist clearly not enjoying her job. Or having a bad day. Freezing cold room, although it warm up when i put the heating on, heating in bathroom, no towell rails. Had to pay a refundable £50 deposit, okay its refundable but really. In the receptionists words its in case u break anything. I witnessed several people leaving as they weren't happy with their rooms. Whole place is dated, best thing to do here is knock it down. Lucky for me it was a night businesse trip. Next time im In Gloucester I'll be staying elsewhere. Avoid.

Overall not impressed, most staff seemed to lacked professionalism when dealing with customers, not rude but came accross as 'bored'. Restaurant, dining room closed with a vending machine in the lobby. Room service only did very basic room cleaning and unable to make the bed properly. Booked a double bed but ended up with to single beds joined together

Overall it was ok for what I needed as travelling for work but a bit disappointed in a slightly disjointed check-in process. Having spoken to and emailed the hotel, on arrival after travelling c.3hrs I was asked to provide all the information I had already given directly to them. Bedroom was comfortable and the shower was good.

Arrived to be told my room had been cancelled due to payment being declined, however booking was made with 'pay on arrival'. Another room was able to be booked. Rooms basic but comfortable. Property appears run down and neglected, strange smell in proper.

when I booked the rooms in december your web site was showing a proper pub which would have done food and been open at lunch time. Your site also failed to mention that you did not do food, especially breakfast. The small bar did not open until 3.00 pm. Your site was at the time, FALSE ADVERTISING. I note it is now changed and not showing the pub. I had no problem with the rooms or service but this was not what I had booked at all.

I would have given a higher mark if there had been a breakfast available on site, I had to travel to a local cafe to buy a breakfast, which was a 10 minute walk away.
