The property is huge, but the for the price, the check-in process should have been MUCH simpler. Valet parking should be a given based on how far away the parking lot is. At a minimum, there should have been a valet to help unload your bags.

It took a week to get the spa to pick up the phone. The hotel staff doesn't help with spa information or reservations, claiming they are a separate entity. Pool, jacuzzi, and sauna not working. They charged 1000 mistakenly to my credit card. Food is very average, and not interesting. No valet to help with luggage. Staff doesn't get back to you as promised.

Since it was a family vacation we stayed in one of the town houses . It was a bit outdated but clean,the next day the refrigerator broke down - upon advising them they replaced it & compensated us for all the food that had to be thrown out .. overall it was ok , they had wonderful amenities - golf course pool & pool classes & daily activities that we liked..the food in Marsh tavern was pretty good too. We’ll most likely return next year as well..

Loved staying in a grand old New England hotel. The staff was lovely and the property was gorgeous. Midweek in July, though, I was surprised at how quiet everything was - things that were on the schedule just didn't happen, one of the bars never opened when it said it would be open, the lovely golden retriever on the property never appeared when it said he would (was looking forward to that). The spa and pool and hot tub were fabulous and I had an amazing massage. Food was quite good in the main dining room. The on-site store was only open half the time I was there. There was no room service menu in the room, nor was there a minifridge, which I think we expect these days. No guide to the property in the room. Concierge was lovely and knowledgeable. Front desk staff was quite nice but didn't seem aware of what events were on the schedule for the day. Lots to do in Manchester and nearby.

Loved the Pet Friendly policy, our room had an enclosed balcony for the dogs, space was great, only drawback was our room was directly above the laundry facilities and they started work at 5 am. The ramp they used and door they used was very loud and constant. Staff was friendly, 4 restaurants were great. Free parking very close to our place. We stayed at the Orvis Inn, right next to the Main Equinox building. Would stay there again. Gym and pool were great.

I have stayed at this property several times and while it isn't as new and snazzy as some of the other luxury properties in the area, it is always very comfortable and genteel. Staff is always so helpful, professional, and kind. The spa/pool/workout area could use some refreshing but again, it is overall very good. If I had to give one cons, it would be the morning coffee in the lobby. It is not the tastiest and a bit bitter - but I am a huge coffee drinker.

Someone needs to walk around with a can of white paint. The devil is in the details and scuff marks ( elevator the worst as it’s used by guest and service) , doors, etc. The food was good and staff attentive. The Taconic, down the road, is a much better choice.

The resort is pretty nice - the pool is good and the main areas of the hotel are nice. Our room was not very clean - the sink was dirty when we arrived and there were cobwebs on both windows. The walls are paper thin and the people in the room next to us had a shouting argument until midnight - felt like staying in a housing project. Would not repeat.

Do not book this hotel. The townhomes and rooms smell like mold. Sheets are filthy. Air conditioning does not work in hotel and townhomes. We walked into floor fans and a horrific stink. Rooms were never cleaned. If you are hungry you will wait hours. And when you finally receive a drink or food it is disgusting. There is a smell in the restaurants. Hotel is short staffed and the ones that are there are totally incompetent. The manager should not be in hotel hospitality. He is extremely rude and unprofessional. Hot tub was filthy as well as the pool.

It just felt off from the beautiful iconic Equinox Inn of old when the owners took extreme pride in the quality of their quests experiences and comforts.

My husband and I stayed one night to celebrate our anniversary. The room was clean, roomy and comfortable. The hotel is huge in a beautiful surrounding with many activities included in the price. Swimming, bike riding and an easy drive into the main town. We would recommend the Equinox and plan on returning in the future for several nights.

Property was generally dirty. I was expecting many more activities and services. The tennis court had weeds growing out of cracks around the court. The pool closed at 8pm. And the property was littered with trash including an empty beer can at the hot tub. I would not recommend staying here.

Very beautiful historic building. I've always wanted to stay there. I finally did, and there were strands of hair in the bathtub. Beds/linens were very comfortable, but overall the cover was better than the book.

I was excited to stay at the Equinox as it was a 4⭐️ hotel in Manchester, Vermont. It was always known as “the” place to stay. I was unfortunately quite disappointed with the stay. Our room was just plan gross. There was a huge water stain on the ceiling with peeling paint. The curtains were ripped. The carpet was filthy with stains on it. The kicker was the black mold in the grout around the tub. Fortunately, the beds appeared clean and were at least comfortable. The parking lot was a ways from the hotel. The only redeeming thing was that the staff was nice and tried to be accommodating. They claimed they didn’t have a different room for us (though there were rooms available when I tried to book a new one). I ended up being comped for the resort fee and was given a free night. It’s a elegant antique building, but it needs a multi million dollar make over. I won’t being staying there ever again. Try the Taconic down the street.

I’ve been a guest at the Equinox on and off for 30 years. Our family holds fond memories of Christmases, Thanksgivings, and other special occasions spent at this "former" grand hotel. Unfortunately, the rest of this visit was far from peaceful—and wholly inconsistent with the standards and legacy of the Equinox. When I entered my room, the drawers were all left open, the toilet seat was up, and it was immediately clear the room had not been properly serviced. The secondary AC unit didn’t work, leaving the room uncomfortably hot and making sleep impossible. The television was also non-functional, which was especially frustrating given the unfolding global events I wanted to follow. By 8:00 a.m., I was woken by shouting from housekeeping staff in the hallway. I took the stairs to avoid the noise, only to encounter more shouting from staff on the stairwell. Hoping to reset the day, I grabbed a cup of coffee and headed to the fireplace lounge, only to find the area littered with leftover food, empty alcohol cups, and disheveled pillows—clear signs it had not been cleaned or reset for morning guests. Lovely stay in every sense. The one exception was room temperature. It was relatively warm in Manchester and even though we set the thermostat to 65, the lowest, it was extremely warm in the room. The window opened three inches, not enough. Otherwise, fabulous from every perspective.

Check-in experience was pretty awful. I waited in a line for more than an hour in order to check-in. Two staff members at reception were working together to check folks in; one person making keys for the rooms, the other for everything else. Also very easy to hear people in the hallways and through the room walls.

While I appreciated that at check in we were told we were being moved to a different room than the one we reserved, since the air conditioning wasn't working - the air conditioning unit in the room we got was like a jet engine taking off near our heads! Also, I went to remove a towel from the rack in the bathroom and the bar crashed to the floor because it was not secured to the wall, pieces were missing needed to screw it safely into place. I also was aware that every person checking in or out in front of me was also complaining about something in their accomodations.

The grounds around the hotel are beautiful. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. Paige the bartender is awesome. Breakfast was very good, highly recommend the skillet breakfast.

Outdated property. Front desk staff is slow, stood in front of someone for 10 minutes without being helped, ended up walking away. The restaurant staff is the same- couldnt find out our waitress for anything. Asking for anything to be sent to the room took over an hour. Do not recommend.

When we arrived the front desk had 2 people working with numerous check ins as there was a convention checking in as well as other guests. They were understaffed in many departments. The elevator rug needed replacement as it was dirty and worn. The side entrances were full of large spider webs and debris all the time it appeared no one every cleaned them. It was the disabled entrance. Our bathroom had a serious outdated issue. The hand rails in the tub were rusty and full of soap scum. The outside was in need of a refresh as well most of the iconic green shutters were broken/falling off. It just felt off from the beautiful iconic Equinox Inn of old when the owners took extreme pride in the quality of their quests experiences and comforts.

Check-in experience was pretty awful. I waited in a line for more than an hour in order to check-in. We were charged for a restaurant meal that we never had. We called FIVE times to dispute this charge but never heard back. We ended up disputing through AMEX. While mistakes do happen, not addressing/fixing them is inexcusable. We recommend that you avoid this hotel and stay at the Hotel Taconic, which is nearby, newer, and better run hotel.

There was only one person able to check in people when we arrived before the big eclipse; it took over an hour to check in. We were told a worker was sick, but it was disappointing that there was not another staff member able to independently check in people. I purchased my room on Expedia because my other room at another hotel at the Kimpton Taconic Manchester was not available for check in at 5pm. I had to wait 20 minutes at the front desk of Equinox for systems to update on their end to see my reservation even though I saw it right away. I’ve been a guest at the Equinox on and off for 30 years. Our family holds fond memories of Christmases, Thanksgivings, and other special occasions spent at this "former" grand hotel. The property is huge, but the for the price, the check-in process should have been MUCH simpler. Valet parking should be a given based on how far away the parking lot is. At a minimum, there should have been a valet to help unload your bags.

My husband and I stayed one night to celebrate our anniversary. The room was clean, roomy and comfortable. The hotel is huge in a beautiful surrounding with many activities included in the price. Swimming, bike riding and an easy drive into the main town. We would recommend the Equinox and plan on returning in the future for several nights.

Lovely place. Relatively reasonable pricing. But the parking and hotel entry was confusing. The parking is so far to walk. Not hard for me but it was hard for my husband who is disabled with one prosthetic leg. The food choices in the hotel was limited as well though we ate in the Falcon Restaurant and we loved the cocktails and the staff was overly attentive and kind. I don’t know but I guess I expected so much more. At least a breakfast included in the pricing. The room was also kind of dated. It served its purpose for what we needed which was for business for one day in Bennington. It was clean and reasonably priced.

Beautiful location and beautiful grounds. Hotel itself is quite nice and up to date. The big problem is the restaurant. Terrible service and not the cleanest. Messy tables everywhere and they could not accommodate us at breakfast without a lengthy wait for both table and service. Unacceptable and I would not return because of this.

Dinner service was slow but I understand it is a busy time of year. Nice property and the room was spacious and very clean with nice furnishings. We would stay there again. My one suggestion to guests in the area is book dining in advance...thinks book up and dining ends early in many spots.

Historical Landmark. The building is full of history. The service and amenities are wonderful especially considering the history of the building. Beautiful place to stay, relax, and unwind. Mountain views are spectacular. Restaurants are wonderful. Everything is convenient. Staff are friendly and welcoming. I am very happy and would recommend this place to anyone.

We had a great time at The Equinox! Our room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfy with high quality linens. We enjoyed the patio hot tub and a swim in the beautiful huge pool before dinner. Dinner at the Chop House was delicious! We both had scallops with a gourmet corn mixture that worked well. After dinner, we joined a crowd in the library and played Scrabble by a roaring fire! There were several fireplaces throughout the premises.

The hotel has an incredible structure and great potential, but unfortunately, my stay was not pleasant. I chose this hotel because my son had a lacrosse tournament early Saturday morning, and I wanted to sleep well and be rested. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. We stayed in room 136, and the door noise throughout the night was constant and disturbing. There were also loud conversations in the hallway. As a result, we had a terrible night and barely slept. We woke up early to have breakfast at the hotel, for which I paid separately. I was okay with the high price, as well as the high cost of the overall stay, but the issue wasn’t the money — it was the service. We waited a long time for a woman to come take our order. When our food finally arrived, my son decided he wanted the same pancakes I ordered, but we didn’t have time to place another order before the tournament. I told him to politely ask for an extra plate and eat one of mine. The woman treated him so poorly that, by the time he returned with the plate (after a long wait), we had no time left and had to leave without eating. I paid a high price to be treated poorly and not even have breakfast. I also saw at least two other families leaving the breakfast area without eating due to the same terrible service. This was definitely not the experience I was expecting. That said, I want to highlight that the room was clean and comfortable, and the restaurant service at dinner was excellent.

The property is dated. The bar had fruit flies flying around. The stools were worn and the bar cabinets looked dirty, chipped and worn. The Chop House was afar cry from being a highlight. The furniture was dated and the old chairs uncomfortable. The place looked more a cafeteria than a high end restuarant. Its not cheap either. The bedrooms were mediocre. We had two queens one had a new mattress quilt cover the otherone was old and you sunk in with an old flat quilt. The parking is aways from the building and I had to walk in the rain because there was no valet. Not a good buy for the money. I would not recommend it until substancial renovations are done
The property is dated. The bar had fruit flies flying around. The stools were worn and the bar cabinets looked dirty, chipped and worn. The Chop House was afar cry from being a highlight. The furniture was dated and the old chairs uncomfortable. The place looked more a cafeteria than a high end restuarant. Its not cheap either. The bedrooms were mediocre. We had two queens one had a new mattress quilt cover the otherone was old and you sunk in with an old flat quilt. The parking is aways from the building and I had to walk in the rain because there was no valet. Not a good buy for the money. I would not recommend it until substancial renovations are done

My room was decent but the ants were outrageous. There were ants everywhere and I was killing them every couple minutes. My card was charged like 4 times, different prices each time. The guy at the desk when I was checking out was helpful but the staff the first day was rude and so was the breakfast staff to the point I bought the breakfast package BUT STILL HAD TO PAY THE BREAKFAST BILL. And they added automatic gratuity. Not that I have a problem with tipping but to automatically add it because you were mad I took a little time to pay when I was just trying to figure the package out that I bought. They gave us a bottle of wine for my boyfriends birthday tho which was such a plus.

Stayed as a bridesmaid and wedding guest in the hotel recently. The rooms were dated and we found mold on the shower ceiling tiles. The main building is kept in better condition but rooms could definitely use some TLC. Staff was super friendly though!

I’ve stayed here before and I’m glad I returned. The staff is friendly. I ate dinner at the bar after a long day. The filet was cooked as requested and the asparagus was fresh. I made use of the pool the following morning. My stay was perfect.
