This is a beautiful old property and is lovely inside and outside. The staff are all very friendly and happy to take time for a chat if that’s what you want. Food was amazing and well worth having our evening meal there. Just to point out how efficient they were, we arrived with our dog and the room was cold, the radiator would not heat up so immediately we were moved and upgraded to a beautiful room and en-suite regardless of the fact that we had our dog with us. Our dogs point of you:- Important to Flynn 1. Lots of treats 2. Sausage for breakfast, 3. lots of fuss and comfort. What more could a dog ask for. Superb stay, thank you.

Great location just a short drive from Crickhowell. Property provided easy access to canal walk from beautiful lawns surrounding property. Lovely views of Table Top. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. We were allocated a beautiful Superior room that was very comfortable complete with large bathroom with luxury jacuzzi bath and walk-in shower! Food was lovely we ate in the bar as we had dogs with us, which was a bonus as the hotel is very dog friendly. Breakfast was excellent with an extensive selection of continental and cooked options. Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel a hidden gem in the Brecons. Thank you to all the staff who made this Birthday trip so special!

Such a lovely inn right on Offa's. Welcoming hosts. Fabulous breakfast. Beautiful grounds. Great views. A favorite for sure! Enjoyed best dinner on our trip a short walk away.

This is a lovely place, the food was excellent and the room very warm and cozy. We have a dog and the grounds are good for excising him. The dog is allowed anywhere except the restaurant. Will definitely stay here again.

My room was pretty tired. The bed was broken and had an old sprung noisy mattress. The Fan in the bathroom was broken, as was the damp mouldy window. Breakfast was tiny and they didn't have some items left such as sausages, I wouldn't stay again.

We were first given a key to an Executive Room that had not received service and still had the previous tenant’s food tray. They then put us in another Executive Room that had not been used in a while. There were over 30 dead flies scattered across the carpet and some debris in the bathtub. The sheets were very clean and we had traveled very far, so we cleaned up the flies and stayed. Everything is very outdated and the rooms are. It nicely appointed or arranged. The grounds are beautiful and the staff was lovely.it is an east walk down a walking path into CrickHowell proper where there are some great Cafe’s.

I don’t like writing a negative review, but in the case I feel I must. Room was small with tacky furniture, would describe it as single with a double bed stuffed in. Bathroom had mold on the walls, sink was miniature and the electric fan not working . Paintwork was marked with wiring loose bedroom . Just a view of the snags.

Unfortunately our room was definitely not up to the standard we were expecting. The shower cubicle was very dirty with mould and the door of the cubicle nearly came away in my hand. Needless to say we did not use the shower. The walls in our room really needed a new coat of paint and the carpet left a lot to be desired. On leaving we mentioned all these facts to the Receptionist and were advised that they are in the process of upgrading the rooms. This does not excuse the matter of the dirty shower and the carpet. Also the units by the side of the bed had veneer missing.

We got to the room to find it was a twin and not a double so we went straight back to the desk to get that changed. We got a free drink at the bar while she ziplinked the ends together. When we got back in the room we noticed that it was not clean. Mould in the bathroom, I had to clean the toilet because I was desperate after the long drive. The carpet hadn't been cleaned at all with hair and food left on it. The carpet did not fit the floor and was frayed at the edges. The door handle in the bathroom was not fitted properly and there were dead bugs lying around the widow and the floor. There was also rust in the kettle and dust in the mugs. We did not feel comfortable staying in this room and after hearing another guest complaining about the cleanliness of their room we did not want t stay in the hotel either. We booked another place and checked out. We were not charged

The property has such much potential, however the cleanliness was poor. The main hall had remnants of a prior wedding which didn't look like it had been cleared for a week or more. The gardens had old glasses etc left on the tables. The breakfast was sad and we had to change rooms as the first was unclean and tired. Everywhere could have done with a hoover, dust and general wipe down, followed by a lick of paint. Such a shame as the location is beautiful, the scenery stunning, just let down by the interior.

The condition of the property is average tending to poor. The staff are great and the food was also excellent. The bed in our room had an old fashioned mattress and when my partner moved, so did I. The plumbing in the bathroom needed attention, noisy and the toilet took 20 mins to fill the cistern and sounded like a fire hose. Sink drainage also took ages probably because the plug was seized partially closed.

Fantastic old Rectory in a quiet country area ideal for walks along the nearby canal. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice cooked to order. Staff were helpful and friendly. Decor needs a bit of TLC but it is an old listed building.

We had a really delightful stay at The Old Rectory Hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. A very nice relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful setting. Very comfortable room. Extremely comfortable bed. Only drawback was the bathroom. A very small shower. Drainage didn’t work well do there was lots of water in cabinet. The cooking at the hotel was above tge ordinary. We had a brilliant meal and great breakfast. Highly recommend.

Convenient position for seeing the area. Very cold floor in bathroom, no bath mat supplied, we had to use one of our towels. additionally towel radiator not working and leaking bottom left making floor wet. Would have liked a net curtain at window of our ground floor room which overlooked the car park, had to keep curtains closed for privacy.

Beautiful setting and building. Dinner was excellent and the breakfast was too. Check in and check out was seamless. The room was adequate but hearing the conversations and television from the next room was intrusive. The bathroom door needed attention as the handle was about to fall off.

Lovely location and grand old building but in need of attention as is the room. Attention to detail neglected: curtain pole fell off when drawing curtains and loo roll not easy to reach. Service was slow and inattentive with some essential utensils not available: I.e no teaspoons at breakfast! However, full Welsh breakfast was excellent quality. Missed more fruit options. Also bed was very comfortable.

Just to point out how efficient they were, we arrived with our dog and the room was cold, the radiator would not heat up so immediately we were moved and upgraded to a beautiful room and en-suite regardless of the fact that we had our dog with us. Our dogs point of you:- Important to Flynn 1. Lots of treats 2. Sausage for breakfast, 3. lots of fuss and comfort. What more could a dog ask for. Superb stay, thank you.

This is a beautiful old property and is lovely inside and outside. The staff are all very friendly and happy to take time for a chat if that’s what you want. Food was amazing and well worth having our evening meal there. Great location just a short drive from Crickhowell. Property provided easy access to canal walk from beautiful lawns surrounding property. Lovely views of Table Top. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. We were allocated a beautiful Superior room that was very comfortable complete with large bathroom with luxury jacuzzi bath and walk-in shower! Food was lovely we ate in the bar as we had dogs with us, which was a bonus as the hotel is very dog friendly. Breakfast was excellent with an extensive selection of continental and cooked options. Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel a hidden gem in the Brecons. Thank you to all the staff who made this Birthday trip so special!

The staff at this hotel made us feel comfortable and like we were part of the neighboring community as soon as we walked in the door. We had arrived at the hotel very early and hung out in the pub area while they got our room ready. The staff are welcoming and the feel of the hotel itself is cozy. We would recommend a stay at this hotel.

Found the hotel after asking locals were it was,as it was a little challenging, beautiful hotel in a lovely location,rooms comfortable but tired, evening meal and breakfast very nice and staff very attentive

A lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings, staff really helpful & polite . The room was very clean although could do with a lick of paint. The food in the restaurant is very good & breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely location and grand old building but in need of attention as is the room. Attention to detail neglected: curtain pole fell off when drawing curtains and loo roll not easy to reach. Service was slow and inattentive with some essential utensils not available: I.e no teaspoons at breakfast! However, full Welsh breakfast was excellent quality. Missed more fruit options. Also bed was very comfortable.

The room was a little worn but the room isn’t why you book here. There are beautiful walks to town, through fields and church yards, over a wide river and all with 360 degree natural beauty. The restaurant is pretty good too. Breakfast was included and was cooked to order

Such a lovely inn right on Offa's. Welcoming hosts. Fabulous breakfast. Beautiful grounds. Great views. A favorite for sure! Enjoyed best dinner on our trip a short walk away.

The condition of the property is average tending to poor. The staff are great and the food was also excellent. The bed in our room had an old fashioned mattress and when my partner moved, so did I. The plumbing in the bathroom needed attention, noisy and the toilet took 20 mins to fill the cistern and sounded like a fire hose. Sink drainage also took ages probably because the plug was seized partially closed.
