Hotel Bougainvillier Djerba

After our previous hotel stay in Djerba, we decided to spend a bit more money on a three-star hotel, and the difference was huge. For a relatively small extra cost, the experience was dramatically better in almost every way. I would definitely choose this hotel again. The hotel generally felt clean and well maintained. When we first entered our room, we unfortunately noticed some ants. I informed one of the cleaning staff immediately, and she was incredibly kind and helpful. She dealt with the problem right away. Later, I also made a mistake myself by leaving leftover pizza in the room overnight, and the ants returned the next day. Once again, I informed the staff, and they handled it immediately. I was genuinely impressed by how fast, professional, and service-minded they were. The cleaning staff in particular deserve special praise. The pool area was simply amazing. For me and my children, it became one of the highlights of the entire trip. The pool was large, beautiful, and very inviting — almost like a small paradise inside the hotel grounds. It truly gave us a relaxing holiday feeling. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay, and this is definitely a hotel I would happily stay at again.

The hotel rooms are slightly dated but clean throughout. The staff was very helpfull and friendly. There were many options at breakfast but would have liked some fruit, which we realised is not often an option in tunisian hotels.

Air conditioning was very poor even after talking to staff and having someone come out and look at it. Required to pay 10 dinar for each pool towel. Please note pool towels are not included in the stay. when I asked for more towels at the front desk he insisted to deliver to our room, when I asked to pick them up at the front desk, a 5 minute hike each way. The towels never arrived before our check out. Pool very outdated. Not what it looks like in the photos. No cushions on metal chairs. Not inviting at all. Bathrooms could be cleaner. Red mold on shower curtain. Drain in second shower not draining properly. On a positive note, the included breakfast was nice.
