Great location but self check in was painful.

I made the mistake of attempting self check in as I hadn’t realized I could have gone into the bar where a human would have checked me in !!! What a fiddly thing to do . However . …. Excellent room , good service & really conveniently situated.

Really great bar & dining area with lovely staff in a very convenient location for exploring Harrogate.

We booked this hotel last minute as a stop off on the way home on a Sunday as love Harrogate. We arrive and parked at the car park around the back without a problem, went to the reception at the bar and checked in quickly staff were polite and gave us the information we needed. They also have an automated checkin and checkout system. We had a cozy room which was perfect for the one night, bed was comfortable and room was nicely decorated, you also have a kettle, hairdryer iron and ironing board. As we had a restaurant booked in Hartogate we did not have dinner in the hotel but breakfast was included and was lovely and fresh with plenty of hot and cold options. Would definitely return.

When i got tgere to book in they tried to charge me £25 more than i booked it for. I was told there was plenty of parking when i got there it was full . A massive hotel with only 20 spaces not good enough i had to pay to park on the rd for 4 hours until a member of staff moved there car so i could park. Wotb a bit of arguing abd after i said il go somewhere els i got my room for the original price quoted

Excellent value for money, some areas of the hotel appeared to be being updated whist we were there so some things weren't working but it didn't affect our stay here. Good location - parking a bit tight and is on a first come first serve basis - but overall would recommend this hotel

Charge for car park was unexpected. Lift was out of order and we had not been informed. We were on 3rd floor and steps were very steep - we are not young. Breakfast was ok but no service so too many people queueing and walking around dining area that was too busy

Fabulous hotel right in the centre of Harrogate. What a lovely characterful place . The staff were excellent . The food was brilliant and what a fab place the bar was . Loved our stay , thank your u. Special thanks to Jordan at night for sorting the key card faff. Top lad 👍.

Welcoming and well looked after. Great to stay in a dog friendly hotel with such a central location. Highly recommend.

Everything was great, Bar food decor service, one big problem.....LIFT not working for the total stay. We were on third floor, I am 79 years old and have a heart and lung problem, I do not do stairs even at home. The hotel was full so changes were not possible. Had booked th two rooms about a month prior so dont know why we were put on third floor. The cost was nearly £1000.00 without what was spent at the bar!.... I feel some compensation should be given.

Nice service at check in. Room was a bit dusty and the shower was dirty. I could people in the other room making noise in the early hours of the night. Mattress and pillows felt old

Issue with no soap and shower gel in the room took 2 days and 3 requests to get some.

Bar dining areas loverly clean , food /drinks good quality, service very good The room let the whole experience down very poor finish , grouting and silicone really bad , dirty glass low level shower tray ( mould/ grime ) bathroom floor needed a good clean and room floor a good hoover ( bit all over floor ) the windows were disgustingly full of mould and condensation , wood was rotten in places and need attention, bugs on window sill. Very noisy as on road side of hotel , only one bedside table . We were very disappointed in the room for the price £300 for 2 nights . Will definitely go back to Harrogate but not to this hotel Very very grubby room

No toiletries in rooms even though it says there are. Room boiling hot, no air conditioning. Public areas have been refurbished to a high standard but the rooms feel a bit patched up

The Harrogate Inn (HI) is located in the heart of Harrogate, a short walk from the conference center, restaurants, museums, train station, bath-houses shopping. From that respect the HI is well located. That said, I was disappointed with the facilities and service at the HI. The general feeling is that the HI needs a makeover. Rooms appear to have been half-made-over. For example, there is a good supply of power outlets, but the room has no ventilation other than opening the window. The bathroom appears to have been installed as a unit - unfortunately without a level floor. The refresh seems to have stopped with the rooms. The hallways are dangerously dark with worn carpet. Wall art is ancient. Housekeeping was disappointing. My wet towels from the previous day/night that were stacked for replacement were instead just hung up on the rack. There is no formal reception. You check in and out at the bar which has limited hours. If you miss these hours, you need to use an electronic tablet. There is an extensive bar/restaurant that served as best mediocre food. I visit the UK regularly, maybe 3 or 4 times a year. The fish-and-chips were about the most bland I have had in all those trips. Breakfast had few choices with cold eggs and what appeared to be day-old pastries. The Harrogate Inn has an excellent location and great potential to leverage that location. But the HI is instead going through the motions of being a destination hotel.

Stayed there years ago with our dog it was great so we decided to stay again, 1st room had hairs in the shower then we got moved to the 2nd floor carpet was stained and lifting in the corner and all we could here on the Saturday evening was the loud music that was being played in the bar. what we paid it was a real let down not worth the money charged. Even the check is in the restaurant you need to wait until someone who is serving in the bar has a moment to come to the check you in or come to speak with you, just not a proper hotel miss having someone at reception full time. There is more but this will just end up as war and peace.

We stayed 2 nights at the Harrogate Inn and while the downstairs areas were very good after a recent refurbishment the second floor on which we stayed seemed to have been given a quick spruce up. I am 73 and my wife older and have recently had a knee replacement therefore it would have been nice to know beforehand that the lift wasn't working, a regular occurrence apparently. On some of the hottest days of the year while we were there I discovered that the shower tray drain was blocked making it unusable. I reported this in the morning and in the afternoon was told it had been fixed. It had not been fixed!!! I then requested a different room and the staff kindly obliged. In this room there was shower over the bath The hand held part of the shower did not work although the overhead deluge head did so we settled for that. There wasn't any non slip bath mat which made it dangerous for older infirm people to step out of the bath after a shower . I was told they weren't supplied. At no time during our stay were we offered any compensation for this major inconvenience.

Excellent stay! Very clean room. Staff in reception and bar area are extremely friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel when you are in Harrogate!

My room was tired, the paint work was patchy and I'm sorry to say that there was a string smell of drains in the en-suite. The room was next to the main entrance to the second floor which is accessed through a fire door. I'm a deep sleeper and work away a lot but needed to purchase ear plugs to enable any decent period of sleep. I requested a room change for the smell, and the noise but the hotel was full and the staff disinterested. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels, at over £200 per night was certainly not what I expected. Great location but I won't be staying here again.

Friendly greeting. Great room, large, clean well maintained. Nice roomy bathroom. Plenty of options for breakfast.

Very central and nice looking from the outside . Room was pleasant but very noisy . Could hear next doors tv ( very loud) plus tv positioning but awkward ti get past with the should sticking out. value for money but maybe leave more then 2 tea bags or a selection box even better

Stayed in a cozy double. Bed wasnt even a standard double. Very small for 2 people. Should only be available for 1 person. Awful nights sleep. Room decor very good and clean. Hotel very nice. Would stay again but pay more for a bigger room, even though this room was a hefty 235 quid. Brekky amazing. Disappointing.

Lovely hotel in a great location for all amenities. Room was decent size, well decorated with comfortable bed. Our room had a shower which suited us fine. Only downside there was no air conditioning, but room had a fan instead. Bar was good with decent selection of drinks and lovely outside seating area. Breakfast was included in our stay and was delicious, great choice of food on offer & self service. We were able to use hotel car park for £10 per night charge which was reasonable, parking is limited tho! Will definitely stay here again when visiting Harrogate

As a 3 star property it was at the top end and very well staffed with pleasant and friendly people. The decor was good and fairly quiet inside. However the double glazing could do with an upgrade to help cut down the street noise. Our room was on the main road and the traffic and rowdy pedestrian noise was quite intrusive.

We had a lovely stay in Harrogate and the hotel facilities, particularly the bar and restaurant, were lovely. The room was very comfortable however, as there was no in room phone I had to Go down to reception after midnight to report noise. The walls were Incredibly thin and the noise in the room was enough to disrupt any sleep. The employee listened but then nothing at all Was done. Had it been, we would Have heard the knock on the neighbours door. Nobody checked or asked about this at checkout.

Clean room, but had to watch my head on the sloping ceiling - had a standard room. Also multiple stairs getting to the room so not that easy with luggage. Noisy at night, could hear the tvs in other rooms, and music from bar area below. Didn't use the bar and restaurant which looked lovely, as also open to the public so no tables available. Very close to the convention centre and short uphill walk to town centre - although bus stop outside which will also take you there and to Leeds. Fire alarm went off in the night, so spent an hour in the car park in the cold and wet with only one member of staff to oversee the fire brigade. Wouldn't stay here again, other options nearby, but would visit the bar which had a great vibe.

I had a very pleasant stay at The Harrogate Inn, my room was nice, clean and tidy. All the staff, I came across were very friendly, helpful and attentive. I was a female solo traveler and felt safe at all times. The location is perfect, I had a good walk around Harrogate, it is lovely and I highly recommend taking a walk around Valley Park.

This is a lovely hotel and the rooms are gorgeous. However, we had booked an accessible suite and checked that this would be available by telephone, a good time in advance. When we arrived, we were informed that, although this was flagged up on the system, that it should not be reallocated, Central reservations allocated the room to someone else. The duty manager was very apologetic and we had a look at the suite we had been allocated instead, which was wonderful, but it had a shower over a bath, which was impossible for me to use. We were then allocated a superior room which was also lovely but the shower had a very high step and no grab handle, so I couldn't use this one either. By this time a new duty manager had come on duty and he and my husband checked the available rooms and eventually found a suitable room, which was lovely, but a superior room rather than a suite. The duty manager was very apologetic about our accommodation problems and gave us a credit to use in the hotel. We decided to use this for a meal, so we ordered it at 7.15pm and by 8.30 it had not arrived so my husband checked on it and the order had been put on a different table number. They had to redo the meal so it was nearly 9.00 before we ate. The food was fine but we hadn't wanted to wait that long to eat. When we checked out the duty manager was very understanding when we explained what had happened, and made a further adjustment to the bill. A satisfactory outcome, means we may stay again.

Me & my wife stayed here for our first wedding anniversary and had an amazing time. The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to make our stay extra special. This included putting flowers in our room as requested, they even upgraded our room free of charge when we checked in. Highly recommended!

We had to wait half hour to be checked in, was hoping to get some food and after waiting so long was then told 15 minutes to order, then it took another 5 minutes to find a pen that worked ! So after finally being checked in , were then told lift out of order, we were three flights up. By time ran bags in and got back down, food had finished. We had a drink , there were tables full of empty plates and glasses , so we cleared out table, went to get a second drink, the bar staff were totally out of focus. They served three sets of people who had come in after us ! I wouldn’t normally go for a refund but I will be taking this further as from start to finish a disappointment . We stayed following night in Ripon for £56 and it knocked spots of The inn.

The Hotel has on street parking immediately outside, I paid £5.50 overnight. The outside looks welcoming and smart, I have walked past here a couple of times from an other hotel recently so decided to it out. The 2 Public Bar areas are pleasant and traditionally decorated. Food is served in the bar where there is a good choice my meal was enjoyable. My room was a pleasant space, (a cosy room) and slightly smaller than the average hotel room, although there was still room for a separate chair which was welcome. Negatives, The corridor to the rooms was dimly lit with an automatic light that came on after you had passed, my room suffered from noise from an extract fan presumably from the kitchen which seemed to be on from 6am to 11pm. Breakfast was mediocre at best, most hot items were luke warm, although I was one of the first down, due being woken early by the fan.

Hotel was centrally located within easy access of the main shopping area.Hotel beautifully decorated for the festive season.Room clean and cosy. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Would definately stay here again.Great value for money

Weekend away and our second stay. A nice hotel well situated in Harrogate, the only flaw being the breakfast service which can be described as chaotic at best. Only 2 visible staff members who struggled to clear tables, no pastries, and the bread ran out for toast and keep the service going and this was while the hotel was fully booked over a bank holiday weekend.

Terrible service in the evening, queued for 20 minutes at the bar to order food, could not replace mushy peas for garden peas, could not have a mushroom sauce even though mushrooms were on the menu and had ran out of Shiraz red wine. Table dirty and asked three times for it to be cleaned to be told ‘We are looking for a cloth’. The Medium Steak I ordered was over well done on the outside and raw on the inside. Checking out discovered we were being charged £18 for a glass of red wine and a small lemonade!! Rest assured we Will Not be returning.

Just overall poor value for money, more like an £80 room than a £250 a night room. Hotel location good, but nothing else great about the place. Breakfast was terrible, very disorganised with no system for finding guests a vacant table. All self service, many items on the buffet had run out, no table available when we arrived and no staff assistance at all to help find one. Would have been better in a travel lodge at less than half the price.

The roombwas excellent. Breakfast was good and catered for the special diet required.

Fabulous hotel, near Xmas when we went so everything was very festive. Warm and cozy place . This hotel is right opposite the royal hall, so fairly central for everything. The room we had was great, clean and comfortable. Only problem we found was that the buffet breakfast was not kept topped up …we waited ages for other items by which time the rest of our breakfast was cold .
