Lakefront Lodge was the perfect place to stay for our stopover before heading to Milford Sound. The room was well equipped and clean. Loved the picnic tables provided by each room as well…perfect for morning tea or evening takeaway! The location was great as well with easy access to the lakefront walking/biking path and town. Would stay here again when stopping over in Te Anau!

Family of 4 with 2 small children. We enjoyed the large jet tub and separate bedroom/door so that we could sleep in two different areas. Only complaint is the room is hot in the summer months (you have to leave windows open and get bugs, or use two very small fans to cool the rooms). Otherwise, it's within easy walking distance to the center of town/food and just feet away from the lake. Would definitely stay again.

Room was clean, plenty of space. Loved the picnic tables outside the room and the laundry machines available....Only complain was no A/C, it got hot and we didn't want to leave the doors open overnight, there were no windows. Good location and views.

Very clean and well looked after. It is like staying in someone's home. The furniture and fittings are old-fashioned but very comfortable, especially the recliner lounge chairs. There is a kitchenette equipped with a bar fridge, toaster, microwave, jug and cooktop. The manager made us feel welcome. Although the rooms do not have water views as they face the side street, the cabins are in a great location directly across the road from the lake. We walked each night beside the lake and just enjoyed the tranquility and beautiful scenery. It is also quite close to the tourist office (Real N.Z.) where you can board the boat to take you on the Glow-worm Cave tour. There is also a seaplane there for flights over Milford or Doubtful Sound. This is a comfortable and affordable place to stay which allows you to prepare some meals and has a laundry with washing machine and dryer which is also handy if you are on an extended holiday.

This lodge was in perfect location with beautiful mini botanic garden. Room is big and suite style with kitchen. Very clean with hot tub for relaxation after tired hikes. Table and bench out side each room to sit out looking at the lake.

Nice place for a 2 night stay while visiting Milford. Comfortable place. 5 min drive to restaurants and grocery. Morning walks around the lake and star gazing were lovely. No view of lake from the room. Room faces the road so not ideal for opening the curtains in the room.

We immediately were happy with our choosing this lodge to stay in after our great check in experience with Kim. She was personable and helpful with suggesting beautiful sunset view walks and other hikes. We stayed so we could drive into Milford sound the next day for hiking. Close to walk to grocery store and town center. Big room! We would recommend this to friends and family, we would also stay here again ourselves. Thank you Kim and team!

We stayed in Lakefront Lodge for 3 nights in late September. The room was comfortable, quiet, clean and well maintained. It had a side aspect looking down to Lake Te Anau. The staff were very helpful in advice and booking tours. The Lodge is close to town and very central to adventure into either Doubtful Sound or Milford Sound. The area is spectacular.

There is a kitchenette equipped with a bar fridge, toaster, microwave, jug and cooktop. The manager made us feel welcome. Although the rooms do not have water views as they face the side street, the cabins are in a great location directly across the road from the lake. We walked each night beside the lake and just enjoyed the tranquility and beautiful scenery. It is also quite close to the tourist office (Real N.Z.) where you can board the boat to take you on the Glow-worm Cave tour. There is also a seaplane there for flights over Milford or Doubtful Sound. This is a comfortable and affordable place to stay which allows you to prepare some meals and has a laundry with washing machine and dryer which is also handy if you are on an extended holiday.

Convenient location for our day trip to Milford Sound, located within walking distance to the town centre. Parking available on-site, right outside your doorstep. Room was spacious and equipped with decent heating. The property itself is a little tired looking and could use some sheer curtains across the main windows to allow some light in while maintaining a level of privacy.

We stayed here for one night when visiting Milford Sound. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room itself was a bit dated, which is fine. Overall, our stay here was good. It’s beautifully located on a corner on the lake front, a short walk from the Main Street.

Lakefront Lodge was a perfect overnight stay for us while in Te Anau. The staff were very helpful and kind. There was no issue leaving a bag overnight while we stayed on Doubtful Sound. The location is great for a lakefront walk and close to the amenities of town. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. There were cooking facilities although we didn't use them. Would stay again.
