Nice comfortable clean room, good views of the semi secluded balcony. Easy entry with a code. Had some other guests smoking on the premises which made it unpleasant to sit outside another guest playing loud music early in the morning. But without a physical person to manage the property I guess that’s gonna happen. Could use a refreshing on interior, upholstered chairs changed out. Also more info about having a coffeepot and microwave in the room in description and the common room w/ a gas grill. We would stay here again. Great location off the beaten path

Lovely lake view from balcony, but door to balcony was difficult to open. Bed comfortable. Could not make the Roku TV work. Coffee maker did not work properly and left huge amount of grounds in the tiny cup provided. No stir sticks, decaf pods, or tea bags. Luckily there was another coffee machine in the commom room. No ice machine that we could find. There was a broken floor tile in the foyer and the wall in the bathroom had some damage. Could not rate service as there was no one there to provide any, which makes the property feel rather unwelcome.

The property is on a good location. The upkeep of the facility was average. There is no staff at the property. You are given a code by email to get in the main door and a code to get into your room. I had questions regarding the refrigerator in the hangout room/kitchen for the guests. Wasn’t sure if any of the breakfast items in the refrigerator and freezer were for the guests or something a guest brought for themselves. We’re always had a very nice day and a very nice view of lake Como.

Beautiful scenery on the lake and enjoyed watching the geese and their babies. Very peaceful quiet area and the inn provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay!the fireplaces the jetted tub and the comfortable bed made our stay even better.

The property is right at lake shore in a very quiet area. It's a 10 min drive to Lake Geneva where you'll find a bunch of restaurants. There is is also food options right next door but the reviews aren't the best. The concept of the cottage is good, the hot tub is a nice touch but it is very loud, not sure my downstairs neighbours really enjoyed it as I did. There is no front desk but a phone call will get you any questions answered. Actually one of their staff came to the place to sort things out, good on you! Unfortunately, the place needs more love to make it great. Carpets stained and smelly, mosquito screen jammed, more reliable wifi. My lower neighbours were quite noisy on the balcony, the insulation is bad. Luckily, the second night, I was alone and it was quiet except for the noise coming from a ventilation fan (I guess?) located below my room; but it is a weird feeling to be the only one in the entire hotel. Basically, I liked the place and will book again but they need to upgrade it to bring it back at the standard it deserves...

Loved the suite room we got. It is very spacious, hot tub was nice. Looking out towards the lake at sunrise was beautiful! Would definitely book this again! Its definitely beautiful there during fall.

The property owners were very responsive and helpful during our stay. The property was perfect and seem less. The lake was quiet and beautiful in the off season. We absolutely loved the hot tub and fire. It was a perfect quiet spot. Very clean. Lots of helpful niceties in the kitchen and common area.

We’re cheerful and easygoing travelers, but this experience was truly disappointing. Upon arrival, we found our suite (225 Upper) had not been cleaned after the prior guest — the bed was unmade, towels and bathmat were used, and the trash bin was still full. It was clearly not ready for anyone to check in. While we understand that mistakes happen, the real problem was the complete inability to reach a human being for help. There was no front desk, no local contact, and no response to repeated phone calls or our immediate email (which included photos). We waited in our car for a while hoping someone would respond, but no one ever did — leaving us with no choice but to leave and find other accommodations that evening. We genuinely would have been happy to move to another room or work it out on-site, but the lack of communication made that impossible. We travel often, and this was the first time we felt completely stranded. Hopefully this helps future travelers — and the property — improve the guest experience.

I had made a reservation based upon the photos and information online for the Inn. When we arrived, we took a walk around the property and were appalled by the condition of it. There were weeds everywhere. The outdoor furniture was filthy and the few cushions on the chairs were dirty. When we walked to the front of the property to see the "beautiful" lake, we were walking through geese droppings. The pier was covered with geese droppings. We tried our code to the building which did not work. Another guest was able to get in on the west side and opened the door for us on the east side. We climbed three small flights of terribly lit stairs to get to our room. When we opened the door, we could smell a strong scent of bleach. We turned on the television and were unable to get a signal. We called the "Manager" who said the internet had been out and should be up shortly. We told her that we would not be staying as long as planned and would like to change our date of departure. She said since we had gone through a third party, we would have to contact Expedia. I asked her if she had a number for Expedia. She said she did not. I tried several different methods of reaching Expedia and had no success. There was no maid service. Fresh towels were supposed to be in a hamper in the hallway. We were booked for three nights. We stayed one night and left the next day. Disappointed is an understatement.

The property location is nice, right on Lake Como however, that is the only thing worth mentioning. For the price, the property is outdated and rooms are quite noisy. If guests next door or below are showering or using the hot tub, the water pressure noise sounds like its in your room (very loud). Property in general looks rundown and needs updating, maintenance etc. Carpeting in the room and common hallway smells musty. Will not book this property again.

The property was beautiful and the room was nice. We had a little balcony that went over the water and really looked forward to sitting out on this and enjoying the view. However,You cannot sit on the chairs on the balcony and see the water as the view is obstructed by the wood of the balcony.

There’s some required maintenance in around the room that makes this place look like it is second rate and doesn’t pay attention to maintenance details, such as holes in the wall in my room, a carpet lack of the convenience of in changes

Lovely lake view from balcony, but door to balcony was difficult to open. Bed comfortable. Could not make the Roku TV work. Coffee maker did not work properly and left huge amount of grounds in the tiny cup provided. No stir sticks, decaf pods, or tea bags. Luckily there was another coffee machine in the commom room. No ice machine that we could find. There was a broken floor tile in the foyer and the wall in the bathroom had some damage. Could not rate service as there was no one there to provide any, which makes the property feel rather unwelcome.

We loved everything about Sandhill. The lady who helped us ( May ) helped us throughout correcting Expedia's mistakes as they popped up from Expedia including not being able to get into the place. If not for May our trip through Expedia would of never worked out. Expedia is run by a bunch of incompetent moron's and we will recommend to everyone - AVOID USING THEM

The property owners were very responsive and helpful during our stay. The property was perfect and seem less. The lake was quiet and beautiful in the off season. We absolutely loved the hot tub and fire. It was a perfect quiet spot. Very clean. Lots of helpful niceties in the kitchen and common area.

We’re cheerful and easygoing travelers, but this experience was truly disappointing. Upon arrival, we found our suite (225 Upper) had not been cleaned after the prior guest — the bed was unmade, towels and bathmat were used, and the trash bin was still full. It was clearly not ready for anyone to check in. While we understand that mistakes happen, the real problem was the complete inability to reach a human being for help. There was no front desk, no local contact, and no response to repeated phone calls or our immediate email (which included photos). We waited in our car for a while hoping someone would respond, but no one ever did — leaving us with no choice but to leave and find other accommodations that evening. We genuinely would have been happy to move to another room or work it out on-site, but the lack of communication made that impossible. We travel often, and this was the first time we felt completely stranded. Hopefully this helps future travelers — and the property — improve the guest experience.

There is is also food options right next door but the reviews aren't the best. There is no front desk but a phone call will get you any questions answered. Actually one of their staff came to the place to sort things out, good on you! Unfortunately, the place needs more love to make it great. Carpets stained and smelly, mosquito screen jammed, more reliable wifi. My lower neighbours were quite noisy on the balcony, the insulation is bad. Luckily, the second night, I was alone and it was quiet except for the noise coming from a ventilation fan (I guess?) located below my room; but it is a weird feeling to be the only one in the entire hotel. Basically, I liked the place and will book again but they need to upgrade it to bring it back at the standard it deserves...

Had some other guests smoking on the premises which made it unpleasant to sit outside another guest playing loud music early in the morning. The hotel is about 5 miles from downtown Lake Geneva so it was easy to get places. There was a fridge and microwave in the room and there is a kitchen in the gathering area. I had questions regarding the refrigerator in the hangout room/kitchen for the guests. Wasn’t sure if any of the breakfast items in the refrigerator and freezer were for the guests or something a guest brought for themselves. We’re always had a very nice day and a very nice view of lake Como.

I stayed in the cottage and it was such a lovely experience. The room was quite large and the tub was huge, though it did slowly drain when full. Being right on the water was calming, but sound from the restaurant next door carried over the lake and there was a wedding going on. They ended early enough though they it didn't disturb my sleep. The staff was wonderful. There was an air freshener in the room and I have migraines very sensitive to smell. They worked with me to ensure my visit was enjoyable and free from triggers. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I booked this property for our anniversary, and one of the main reasons we chose it was because of the in-room whirlpool tub. Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing due to the lack of maintenance and cleanliness. When we arrived, we noticed cobwebs throughout the room, as well as old cobwebs on the deck with dead insects and debris still caught in them. The screen door was off its track and leaning against the patio door, and the patio door handle was barely attached. We were concerned that if we went out onto the deck, the handle could come off and leave us unable to get back into the room. The fireplace also didn’t work. We emailed the address provided in the check-in instructions to report the issue, but we never received a response. Outside, the yard and deck were covered in goose droppings. I understand that geese are a daily occurrence, but the amount that had accumulated made it clear the area had not been cleaned or maintained for quite some time. The biggest disappointment was the whirlpool tub. Since it was the main reason we booked this room, we were looking forward to using it. I cleaned it twice, hoping it just needed to be flushed, but the water remained yellow and had a foul odor. It was so unsanitary that we didn’t feel comfortable using it at all.
