Villa on a Private Beach in Tropea

I will definitely stay again need little care like screen on doors and new outdoor forniture

The house is lovely but all open air. No air conditioning and unfortunately it was a very hot week. The view is lovely and Lucia provided some dining and shopping recommendations. We happened upon a wonderful restaurant in Parghelia called Spizziculia.

This villa has spacious rooms and an amazing terrace. Very clean and the host was very responsive for recommendations for bars and restaurants; all of which were top. There is parking right out front and a very short drive to Tropea where there is also plenty of parking as the evening beach crowd dissipates. The beach here may be the best I’ve ever been to with an inviting pool. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a family excursion given the space. The people of Calabria were exceptionally nice and welcoming. We will be back!

Villa is a five minute drive from Tropea. Views from the terrace are breathtaking! Beach is 200 meters down a steep hill. You'll find 2 hotel beach chairs + 1 umbrella our host has reserved. The pool never opened while we were there. The listing and photos gave us the impression that beach and pool were closer, not 200 meters away. The day before we arrived I asked our host info about the pool, she was very responsive to inquire with the hotel management about the pool and quick to give me the update the pool is closed. I would not have known the pool was closed. After, we arrived I spoke to the lifeguard, he told me it wouldn't be likely that the pool would open. That was very disappointing because we rented the villa with the main motivation of having a pool. The beach was beautiful, we drove down to the beach for my 75+ year old parents were unable to walk the steep hill. There is parking by the beach. One day as we arrived a large stream of raw sewage was on the road and going into the sea. I notified the lifeguard, who said we couldn't swim there. He told me this happens often. Inside the villa was clean. Needs many updates. Plenty of towels for bathing & beach. Kitchen w/ large fridge/freezer, some good pans. Toilet seats poor quality, fell off the hinges. Bed covers stained in twin bedroom. Listing wrong. No 4th bedroom! Overall, we feel that the listing was misleading. Great beach, but certainly not a "Top Luxury Villa With Pool" as advertised. Cannot recommend.

The house was completely abandoned in terms of hygiene and care. Had it not been for the beautiful view, the disaster would have been greater. Wifi not available, internet signal virtually non-existent, bath towels old, hard and stained, broken toilet seat, electric kettle not working, terrible stove, there was only one blanket available and we had to go out to buy new ones (even though the value was refunded, this is unacceptable!), the house did not have four bedrooms as advertised, the sofas outside smelled of cat pee, the outside rubbish was not picked up during the almost twenty days we were there and the owner was not nice. All in all, a total disappointment! On the other hand, I must say that the person who cleans the house and who received us was always very friendly and helpful.
