Where do I begin? The good, Clean Room, nice staff, Great bathroom, wonderful location. The bad is this hotel is run down badly. The door from the parking garage to the 2nd floor didn't work at all, as the lock was broken and had to go down to the first floor to access the hotel. Also the ac was broken and the halls and room were soo hot that we had to open the window to get any air at all. The furniture in the room was old and not updated, however the bed was great. I think that the hotel needs a complete remodel from top to bottom. The outside leads you to believe the it is a new remodeled hotel, but no, it isn't. On the positive side the front desk clerk did tell us about most of the issues and gave us a break on the rate. The hotel is in a great location downtown, and with a lot of work, complete upgrade, more outlets in room, it could be the place to stay downtown, but not at the present state.

Good location and OK Wi-Fi, but public areas and rooms in need of renovation or repair. Furnishings are dated and only analog TV with limited selection. No food service beyond vending machines. Attached parking garage also needs modernization although on the plus side, parking was free.

Positives: Location, location, location…walking distance to Capitol Music Hall and all of downtown. The lobby is spacious and festive for holiday…nice staircase! Parking garage is easily accessible. Negatives: Heating system (cold!) and restaurant/bar is closed. Breakfast is minimal.

The elevator from the parking garage was not working so we had to carry our luggage down and up stairs. Otherwise the room was clean. The TV only got a few stations The receipt was $25 less that what I was actually charged (on my online banking statement) but after calling they said it would be credited soon.

This hotel has seen better days, with run down property, peeling paint in the bathroom, sounds of dripping drains all night, and an assortment of people at the desk who were not trained to handle the reservation. Hotel parking had no signage and no access to the actual hotel, requiring us to walk outside and around the block through construction with our luggage. The downtown felt like a ghosttown with so much construction andmany buildings vacant. We like to support urban renewal but this hotel was a sad opportunity for that.

Stayed in room 618 - a/c worked perfectly, room is spacious, bathroom is small but does the job. No microwave but there is a small fridge. TV didn't work, tried calling front desk multiple times in the early evening to get someone to come look at it but no one answered. Easy 5 min. walk to Wesbanco Arena. Ate a fantastic restaurant - Vagabond Kitchen. Hotel is very tired and in desperate need of attention. Supposedly they're trying although there were no obvious signs of this. Elevators are only half operational. Honestly the best part was the bed and quietness.

I chose the McClure House because of the proximity to the starting point for the Ogden Half Marathon. I had also chosen it because the pictures and reviews on the Expedia site made the hotel look very trendy & fun. We were disappointed almost immediately. It is hard to access the front doors from the street. It is hard to access the hotel from the parking garage. While we are not handicapped, the stairs from the parking garage to the hotel floors are very treacherous & not easily accessible. We had no trouble checking in, but when we came back from dinner, our key did not open the parking garage. We had to drive to the front of the hotel. There was no answer on the phone nor anyone at the front desk. I went into the bar for help & they had no idea where the front desk person was. As I was on my cell calling him, I heard him coming down the hall, griping about not being able to get away from the desk. All in all, it was a very disappointing and very stressful stay, & we were there for 2 nights. While the lobby is very cool, I did not pay almost $300 for a stay in the lobby. We will not be back. Ever.

Have to do research prior to booking a room. They are under renovations. Was booked on the 3rd floor and was moved to 6th. The staff was accommodating and address the issues when being moved. I don’t recommend blind reserving a room due to the conditions of the hotel. There should be an attempt to list Amenities a lot was closed. The staff have a lot of hurdles when the hotel.

The place was filthy. The towels had holes in them and were dirty gray looking. The heat/ac did not work. We felt afraid there were bedbugs, though we haven't found any. The entire property was very run down.

Staff was friendly. Room was clean but no pillow cases and smelled like cannabis. No sign on the building except for a small historic plaque. Parking garage was not secure and elevator smelled of urine. Did not feel secure staying at this location.

At checking, no mention the room tv did not work, the elevator did not work and when attempting to call every number on the phone; couldn’t reach the main desk until the second day. Outside surrounding areas; terrible, looked like a war zone. Rooms smelled of mildew. No discount offered. Worst hotel I EVER stayed in.

This place looks better online. I can’t believe there’s a banquet hall where people get married here. It’s a maze to get from the garage to your room, it’s dirty, smells like weed everywhere. There’s nothing around it and it’s dirty. Oh and the heat is a boiler maker system so it’s either off or on. Room gets so hot then so cold. The one lady that checked me in was nice though. Avoid this place

Checked into the hotel after booking a river view room through Expedia and the front desk informed us that there was no TV as their satellite was out. Once we got into the room, we found the view we had was the wall of another building. When we called the desk to switch to the river view, we were told there were none available. We were very disappointed that after spending a long day of travel, we were unable to unwind as there was no TV and no nice view.

The hotel is in rough condition. The air conditioning was not functioning properly, and the fan was directly connected to the lights, so when the lights were turned off, so was the fan. It was a hot, miserable night.

Overall the stay was decent. I booked this hotel with an open mind because of the mixed reviews. The room was huge and convenient for a one night stay. That's where the pros end. The tv had no signal and the remote was too disgusting to even try to fix it, luckily I didn't spend much time in the room. The toilet barely flushed. The shower was difficult to turn on and the heating/AC unit was ancient. I understand that the property has updated rooms, I'd recommend booking one of those. The only thing that made this hotel worth the $140 was the location and close proximity to the venue I was attending a show at.

After the clerk took my card and processed the payment, we were informed the room we asked for had no AC. She offered a different room with smaller beds with AC. Asked for a King room, offered a Double room. We then asked for a refund and were told that we would have to wait until the next clerk started in two hours, midnight. We had just worked all day and drove four hours. We did not want to wait. Hopefully, the solution that was offered will work and we will get a refund. Had we were told BEFORE my card was run about the AC, it would have been better. She was kind and pleasant but I think full disclosure before would have been better. We were tired and this did not help.

Nastalgic place and friendly staff. Wheeling looks like it died 100 years ago but still some cool looking buildings and lots of places to eat and bars around hotel.

We stayed in Wheeling to celebrate our 20th anniversary together. We wanted to stay near Oglebay since we got engaged there. Your hotel went above and beyond what was ever expected. From the anniversary card to the decked out room with rose petals on the floor and bed. It put us back to memories of our honeymoon and we couldn't thank you enough. We were so pleased with the stay that we may do this once a year just to keep the feeling alive. We can't thank you enough for the memory for sure! We stayed in Wheeling to celebrate our 20th anniversary together. We wanted to stay near Oglebay since we got engaged there. Your hotel went above and beyond what was ever expected. From the anniversary card to the decked out room with rose petals on the floor and bed. It put us back to memories of our honeymoon and we couldn't thank you enough. We were so pleased with the stay that we may do this once a year just to keep the feeling alive. We can't thank you enough for the memory for sure! The staff was absolutely amazing and so very helpful! We will definitely be back!!!!!! Amazing stay!

Absolutely a disaster from the time we pulled up , dirty filthy area, They charged me $108.00 for room so I paid double to stay here said Expedia lost my information, I paid in February I had a copy, the man that checked us in was not professional or business like at all kept talking about is manager , I told him I had a receipt where I paid already he blew me off said you want to stay or not, then he said your debit card not on file, so basically he is running a scheme double charging for rooms but u pay more, I went back down in 1 hr after checking in he told me off again come back in 2 hrs when manager here, did that was told to come back in am when checking out, supervisor will get this fixed, when checking out , the lady that was there had no idea, she said he had done this to 5 other rooms also , so easy $500 cash he made for hotel , will never go back to this hotel.. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE , Completely Scheeme to me , Horrible experience

Our room was clean and comfortable. The television and air conditioning worked fine. We utilized the small refrigerator. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

I chose the McClure House because of the proximity to the starting point for the Ogden Half Marathon. I had also chosen it because the pictures and reviews on the Expedia site made the hotel look very trendy & fun. We were disappointed almost immediately. It is hard to access the front doors from the street. It is hard to access the hotel from the parking garage. While we are not handicapped, the stairs from the parking garage to the hotel floors are very treacherous & not easily accessible. We had no trouble checking in, but when we came back from dinner, our key did not open the parking garage. We had to drive to the front of the hotel. There was no answer on the phone nor anyone at the front desk. I went into the bar for help & they had no idea where the front desk person was. As I was on my cell calling him, I heard him coming down the hall, griping about not being able to get away from the desk. All in all, it was a very disappointing and very stressful stay, & we were there for 2 nights. While the lobby is very cool, I did not pay almost $300 for a stay in the lobby. We will not be back. Ever.

Staff is super friendly . Liked the staff a lot. Needs to be updated with modern amenities . Had no tv. Literally didnt work. Area is bad also. But the staff was so friendly , id consider coming back for that reason alone

Where do I begin? The good, Clean Room, nice staff, Great bathroom, wonderful location. The bad is this hotel is run down badly. The door from the parking garage to the 2nd floor didn't work at all, as the lock was broken and had to go down to the first floor to access the hotel. Also the ac was broken and the halls and room were soo hot that we had to open the window to get any air at all. The furniture in the room was old and not updated, however the bed was great. I think that the hotel needs a complete remodel from top to bottom. The outside leads you to believe the it is a new remodeled hotel, but no, it isn't. On the positive side the front desk clerk did tell us about most of the issues and gave us a break on the rate. The hotel is in a great location downtown, and with a lot of work, complete upgrade, more outlets in room, it could be the place to stay downtown, but not at the present state.

We really enjoyed our stay here. My kids enjoyed the arcade a lot and the concierge even gave my son a roll of quarters to use there. We really liked the views from our room and the walkability of the location. Wheeling is a really neat town and this hotel's locations is at the heart of it. We'd definitely stay here again.

Positives: Location, location, location…walking distance to Capitol Music Hall and all of downtown. The lobby is spacious and festive for holiday…nice staircase! Parking garage is easily accessible. Negatives: Heating system (cold!) and restaurant/bar is closed. Breakfast is minimal.

This hotel has seen better days, with run down property, peeling paint in the bathroom, sounds of dripping drains all night, and an assortment of people at the desk who were not trained to handle the reservation. Hotel parking had no signage and no access to the actual hotel, requiring us to walk outside and around the block through construction with our luggage. The downtown felt like a ghosttown with so much construction andmany buildings vacant. We like to support urban renewal but this hotel was a sad opportunity for that.

Stayed in room 618 - a/c worked perfectly, room is spacious, bathroom is small but does the job. No microwave but there is a small fridge. TV didn't work, tried calling front desk multiple times in the early evening to get someone to come look at it but no one answered. Easy 5 min. walk to Wesbanco Arena. Ate a fantastic restaurant - Vagabond Kitchen. Hotel is very tired and in desperate need of attention. Supposedly they're trying although there were no obvious signs of this. Elevators are only half operational. Honestly the best part was the bed and quietness.

Good location and OK Wi-Fi, but public areas and rooms in need of renovation or repair. Furnishings are dated and only analog TV with limited selection. No food service beyond vending machines. Attached parking garage also needs modernization although on the plus side, parking was free.

This is an old building and so much either needed an update,repair and rebuild.No cable,cracked tiling,weird smell,no heat control,restaurant closed....cheap for a reason....ok for a short stay Aham.....not an overnight.Pass this place...next!

I went to a Wheeling Nailers game, and this hotel was easily within walking distance. There is not much to do in the area during the winter, but the hotel itself was great. The room was super clean and well maintained. Staff was helpful and friendly. My only "dislike" was the breakfast options. Very limited, I wouldn't even rate it a continental offering. But the cost was reasonable, so I would happily stay here again.

Have to do research prior to booking a room. They are under renovations. Was booked on the 3rd floor and was moved to 6th. The staff was accommodating and address the issues when being moved. I don’t recommend blind reserving a room due to the conditions of the hotel. There should be an attempt to list Amenities a lot was closed. The staff have a lot of hurdles when the hotel.

The place was filthy. The towels had holes in them and were dirty gray looking. The heat/ac did not work. We felt afraid there were bedbugs, though we haven't found any. The entire property was very run down.
